Chris Brown Opens Up About Rihanna Assault

'I don't want to be that person,' he tells Sway during 'Chris Brown: The Interview.'

Chris Brown opened up about his assault on former girlfriend Rihanna during the MTV News special "Chris Brown: The Interview" on Friday (November 6), elaborating on his destructive behavior, explaining his previous apologies and describing his ongoing therapy sessions.

Brown told MTV News correspondent Sway that he has finally come to terms with the fact that he was capable of such violence.

"I think you'd be in denial and be totally naive not to," he said. "And not being able to realize and own up to the fact of your own wrongs. I mean, me, I've come to terms with it and I'm working on it. ... For that moment or whatever had me at that place, I want to erase that from what my character is. I want to be totally different from now on. I don't want to be that person."

Brown admitted that he's still unsure about how the public views him in the aftermath of the incident. His die-hard fans have continued to support him, but others have openly criticized the 20-year-old star. The mixed reaction has confused Brown, he said.

"I'm confused right now as far as the public perception [of me]," he said. "Like, I think with my fans, they still love me, they support me, definitely. You have those people who will support you. So it's kinda like 50/50 for me. I got the people that will come out and support and then the people that don't wanna see me do anything. They basically want me in jail."

Brown said he hasn't been able to brush off negative comments he gets in public. During a trip to an amusement park, Brown described hearing cries of "woman beater."

"I'm human, so when I hear certain things that they say or if I go somewhere and I hear somebody be rude about it, it's just like, 'Man, it's a mistake,' " Brown said. "I made a big mistake. I'm learning from it. Like, I'm not saying, 'Who are they to judge?' because, I mean, everybody's entitled to their own opinion on how they feel, but it hurts."

The singer opened up about his Twitter activity as well. He has twice tweeted fan videos that feature images of him with Rihanna. Brown said he wanted to show that their union wasn't "chaotic." "We actually were very close friends," he said of their relationship.

Brown is currently in the midst of his court-mandated therapy sessions. The singer said he enjoys the counseling and has been responding to the support.

"When I apologize, I really apologize, definitely, about the situation, like me and her personally, obviously," Brown explained. "We've exchanged, I've exchanged my apologies for her, but when I do it publicly, it's for who I've let down. It's for the fans, it's for all the people, even the sponsors. Even the people that have invested in me and thought that I was a good enough role model to be branded or to be like, 'OK, this is Chris Brown.' I really wanted to apologize for the people that I let down and show people that I am wrong for what I've done, but I want people to learn from it and see that I'm really apologetic."

Dr. Michelle Callahan, a developmental psychiatrist, said understanding the consequences of an action like Brown's is at the core of rehabilitating violent behavior.

"It's very important that they realize this," she told MTV News. "You can get into a lot of trouble. Not only can you seriously get hurt or hurt someone you love, you can get into a lot of trouble. You get involved in the legal system. You can go to jail. There's a lot at stake."

Brown echoed Callahan's comment in a statement he released to MTV News on Friday responding to Rihanna's interview with Diane Sawyer.

"I only hope that others in similar situations can learn from our experience as well," Brown said. "Abuse of any kind is always wrong."

Rainie Yang Forces Kiss, Show Luo Fans Revolt

Rainie Yang forces kisses on Show Luo (Xiao Zhu). His fans were watching from aside and when they witnessed their idol being sexually harassed, they let out sounds of pain. There were even fans so out of control who immediately cried. It scared Rainie, and she had to explain to them, “We are only close like siblings, don’t misunderstand.”

In the CTS drama, <Hi My Sweetheart>, Rainie is the “violent girl” and Show is the “mushroom head;” the female is strong and the male is weak, this collaboration is very interesting. Rainie even changed from her normal pitiful character, turning from weak to strong. Earlier at Hangzhou, they filmed a scene where Show was forced a kiss. There were almost 40 Show fans by the side watching. The moment the lips touched, the fans let out sounds of sorrow. Show had to comfort them saying, “You all be good. Your honey (husband) is filming. You all can’t be because of this and be mean to Rainie.” That really worked, and the fans immediately were silent. However, this scared Rainie, so every time there is a kiss scene, she will first apologize to his fans. The interaction was really funny.

After Show’s comfort, his fans let their “Da Lang Honey (husband)” be given to Rainie without worries. They even showed their love to the person next to their idol; they too cared for Rainie. Everyday the fans help the two “add meals.” The 20 days the two were in Hangzhou, they were fed well; especially Rainie because she gained 4 pounds (2 kg). Her face on camera became rounder. The director even said to her, “This is what you guys get for eating buffet everyday!” The managers immediately warned them to control their diet.

Taylor Swift Owes Kanye West a Thank-You!

Hey, we've got an opening monologue for Taylor Swift.

"Hi, I'm Taylor Swift, as you know," the teen titan could start off with on tomorrow's Saturday Night Live. "And I'd like to thank Kanye West for helping you know that."

OK, so the lines aren't funny. But they are true.

The SNL gig—as host and musical guest? The honor of being the first female country performer to pull that desirable double duty since Dolly Parton more than 20 years ago? The album that's been out forever and is back climbing the charts?

Yup, somebody owes Mr. West a muffin basket.

Think we're going off half-cocked (like a certain rapper, perhaps?) by suggesting that the Video Music Awards incident, featuring the boorish West and the sideswiped Swift, was the best thing that ever happened to the latter's career?

We don't.

"Her brand is definitely seeing significant growth," Marvet Britto, president and CEO of the Britto Agency, a public-relations and brand-strategy firm, told us.

The "her" is definitely Swift. And, according to Britto, the West moment was definitely a defining moment.

"I think that there were people who were vaguely familiar with Taylor Swift [before the VMAs]," Britto said, "and they immediately became interested in who she was."

Now, Swift can give credit to herself, too, because if she'd been an ass to West's ass-plus-you-know-what, then all career-boosting bets would have been off. But Swift didn't match West, jerk move for jerk move.

"She handled the debacle so eloquently," Britto said.

Or as Personal Public Relations' Bonnie Russell puts it: "By the time she got the microphone back [from West], millions wanted to protect her."

Ka-ching!

Now, understood: Swift was a star before West; Swift was selling albums (a lot of them) before West; Swift was a teen idol before West.

But…

She wasn't on Oprah before West. She wasn't hosting SNL before West. And, no, she wasn't going to hockey games with New Moon's Taylor Lautner before West.

To be clear, we're not suggesting Swift fork over a commission to anybody but her agents. We're not arguing West be excused for leaving his assigned seat. We're not even suggesting Swift thank West for hijacking her moment.

We're just saying Swift shouldn't ever forget the people who made her the superhot performer who dates superhot hotties that she is today.

Even if one of those persons deserving of credit is a superhot hothead.

Why Windows 7's success may ruin Microsoft

They shouldn't be popping the champagne corks at Microsoft over the news that Windows 7 sales are skyrocketing. A well-known management consultant says that Windows 7's success could be the worst thing to happen to Microsoft, and turn the company in the General Motors of software.

The market research company NPD Group reports that sales of Windows 7 in the U.S. "were 234 percent higher than Vista’s first few days of sales."

Stephen Baker, vice president of industry analysis at NPD said this about the Windows 7 launch:

"Microsoft's program of early low-cost pre-sales, high visibility marketing, and aggressive deals helped make the Windows 7 software launch successful. In a slow environment for packaged software Windows 7 brought a large number of customers into the software aisles."

Sounds like good news, doesn't it? In fact, it's just about the worst news that Microsoft could hear, says Jay R. Galbraith, president and founder, Galbraith Management Consultants. In an article for CNNMoney, Galbraith argues that Microsoft could potentially become the the General Motors of software --- old, outdated, irrelevant, and eventually headed towards ruin. And the success of Windows 7, he says, will only accelerate that.

Galbraith says that in order for Microsoft to thrive, it needs to shift its attention away from the desktop, and towards other devices and cloud computing. He has this to say about why a Windows 7 success will hurt Microsoft:

"The worst thing that could happen is a success with Windows 7, which would reinforce management's focus on the desktop. Then, as customers move away from the desktop to smartphones and other devices, market share will decline. But if share declines slowly, maybe a point or two a year, the drop will not be enough to overcome the pride that comes with high margins and high profits. Over time, the desktop mafia will experience a shift from pride to hubris. Welcome to the General Motors scenario.

Galbraith says that Microsoft needs to clean house and rid itself of managers tied to past ways of thinking and doing business. And the quickest way for that to happen, he believes, is for Microsoft's competitors to succeed:

"The best thing that could happen to Microsoft would be successes by Apple (AAPL) or Google (GOOG) that cause a significant loss of sales and market share. The shock would create a sense of urgency and cause the leaders to clean house."

He says that Microsoft does not have to turn into the next General Motors, as long as Steve Ballmer takes drastic action:

"The General Motors scenario does not have to happen. Ballmer can focus inward on transforming the desktop mafia to the new computing paradigm. Or, better yet, appoint a hands-on, change-experienced chief operating officer who can do it with him."

I don't see that happening, though. Ballmer is too wedded to the past --- a fresh set of eyes are needed if Microsoft is going to transform itself.

Microsoft clearly isn't in trouble today --- it's got nearly a global monopoly on operating systems, and other profit-making product lines. But GM at one point was in a similar situation. It took decades for GM to decline. Unless Microsoft heeds Galbraith's advice, the same eventually may happen to Microsoft.

Rihanna Recounts Brutal Attack, but Says She Still Loves Chris Brown

Despite all that's happened, Rihanna doesn't hate Chris Brown.

In fact, she still loves him.

"I don't hate him at all," she tells Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America. "I actually love and care about him and I'm concerned about him doing well. I want him to do well, have a great career, have a great life and grow up, and just take this as something that you had to go through to grow up and learn."

She may wish him the best, but neither this morning nor yesterday morning did she mention the words forgiveness, reconciliation or rekindle, although those are topics supposedly set to be tackled on tonight's 20/20 special.

The singer did, however, explain some of what happened in the car that fateful February night.

As is well known, the pop star pair was returning from a pre-Grammys party when Rihanna discovered a text message on Brown's phone from another woman.

"I caught him in a lie and he wouldn't tell the truth," she recalls. "I wouldn't drop it. I couldn't take that he kept lying to me and he couldn't take that I wouldn't drop it, because obviously his back was up against the wall. The truth is right here in the text message. So it escalated into him being violent towards me and it was ugly."

The starlet admits that as she wondered when the beating would stop, she could see that her "big love" was not himself.

"He had no soul in his eyes. Just blank. He was clearly blacked out. There was no person when I looked at him," she says.

She didn't know how to make it end or what to do next.

"I was battered. I was bleeding. I was swollen in my face. There was no way of me getting home. My next option was to get out the car and start walking in a gown and a bloody face. So I really don't know what was my plan. I didn't have a plan," she says.

"That whole night was not part of my plan," she adds profoundly.

Further details of what happened in the car, as well as an event from Rihanna's childhood she's never shared, are on the docket for tonight's longer chat on 20/20.

Around the same time, Brown will be sharing his thoughts with MTV. He admits he was anxious during the Larry King interview on CNN about the situation that put him back under public attack.

"I was super nervous," he says. "I did a lot of media training and a lot of stuff like that, and it kind of wasn't genuine to me. Everything I was saying was from my heart, but it was kind of controlled. 'Well, don't say it like this, because it will look like that...'

"I'm going to get public scrutiny or criticism regardless of what I say. So I just didn't know what was going to be said. I just wanted to let people know how I felt at the end of the day."

G-Dragon, a victim of plagiarism?

Looks like the Heartbreaker might get his heart shred in two again, but this time the tables have turned! If you take a look at the cover of Maslo's controversial BLACKOUT album, it's easy to see the reason behind the buzz - with his eyebrow-raising cover design as well as the Blackout song which was revealed recently, the popular underground hip hop artist went out of his way to mimic G-Dragon's Heartbreaker song and the controversies tied to it.

This song has been spread and popularized by netizens, who had mixed reactions. Some VIPs and fans are offended by this "anti-GD" song. However, those that are advocating legal action for the plagiarism are facing a predicament - after all, if YGE gives Maslo heat for this track, why can't Sony call YGE out for the original controversy in the first place?

Some even speculate that this was a deliberate viral marketing scheme taken to pave the way for Maslo to enter the mainstream music scene. However, others are skeptical because Maslo is already widely successful underground and hasn't expressed any desire to switch scenes.

Furthermore, dissing other artists is typical on the underground scene, so many fans are rolling their eyes at this over scrutiny. One netizen in particular joked that, if Maslo were ever accused of plagiarism, he would reply, "No, I sampled Flo Rida's Right Round."

Listen to the track yourself:

Don't get me wrong - I absolutely love Big Bang, but to be honest, I think that Blackout, as a song, is pretty catchy. I feel bad for G-Dragon though - the poor boy didn't even produce this song, and he's already supposedly been under fire by Epik High (?) and now another hip hop artist.

Aside from the blatant plagiarism, what do you think of this track? Should fans gather up their troops and storm over to Maslo's underground haven with torches and pitchforks in hand, or should Blackout be dismissed?

Slow start for the Motorola Droid?

The new Motorola Droid got a sleepy reception on Friday morning when it officially went on sale across the country in Verizon Wireless stores starting at 7 a.m. in some places.

From New York to San Francisco, most stores around the country had few if any lines when doors opened Friday morning. There was a handful of people waiting outside at the Verizon Wireless store on West 34th Street here in Manhattan. And about 20 people waited in line outside a store here on Sixth Avenue, as well as at one in Clifton, N.J., Verizon officials said.

CNET reporters in San Francisco reported they saw only about 15 customers lined up for the device before a Verizon Wireless store opened there Friday.

The scene was somewhat more lively last night, when Verizon Wireless opened its West 34th Street in New York City from midnight to 2 a.m. About 100 eager Droid customers were in line when the store opened last night. Verizon spokesman David Samberg said the company sold 85 Droids in the first 45 minutes the store was open on Thursday night.

But even though the Droid didn't stir enough enthusiasm to get people to stand outside on a cold November morning, there appeared to be a steady stream of customers in several Verizon Wireless stores. Many customers were interested in the Droid, while some were checking out the new HTC Android Eris, which also went on sale Friday.

Lines are overrated

Samberg said that a lack of a long line or shortage of devices is actually a good thing. And he urged people to not prejudge the phone's success on that alone.

"Long lines forming outside are flashy," he said. "But it's not really the goal. What we really want to see is this: a steady stream of people coming today and for the next few weeks buying new phones."

While the lines, or lack of lines as the case may be, are far less dramatic than the hoopla surrounding an Apple iPhone launch, analysts are quick to point out that Verizon sold about one million of the buggy BlackBerry Storms in the first three months when those devices went on sale a year ago.

So far the reviews and customer feedback on the new Droid have been positive. The sharp display and cool applications like Google Maps with navigation are impressing customers. But the slow and sometimes blurry 5-megapixel camera was a noticeable negative, even for prospective customers checking out the device in the store.

"The software is slick," said Chirag Patel, 33, who was in the West 34th Street store checking out both the Droid and the Eris. "It's much better than the G1 on T-Mobile, but the camera is very slow. And it got a little hung up when I played around with it here in the store."

Surprisingly, Patel said he liked the look and feel of the HTC Android Eris better than the Droid, but he probably wouldn't buy it because it isn't yet running the latest 2.0 version of the Android operating system. While reviewers have praised the Droid's software, the physical design of the device is a bit clunky. And the device itself is heavier than many other phones in its class. For this reason, among others, Patel said he'd take the weekend to think over his Droid purchase.

"I really don't want to be carrying around a 100-pound block in my pocket," he said. "I can already imagine it weighing down the pocket of my cargo shorts in the summer. So I have to really think about whether I want to lug this thing around for two years."

Megan Fox transforms from movie siren to girl next door for dressed-down trip into town

It seems even Megan Fox allows herself a day off from playing the Hollywood star.

The actress, known for jaw-dropping appearances on the red carpet, made a rare departure from her usual revealing style during a trip into town.

Without heavy make-up or a clinging dress, the 23-year-old looked almost girl-next-door in her ripped jeans and grey t-shirt.

She was accompanied by her boyfriend Brian Austin Green, 36, best known for his role in Beverly Hills 90210.

He co-ordinated with Megan's dressed-down look, also opting for a pair of jeans with a shirt and cap.

Fans of the actress will see a very different Megan in her new film Jennifer's Body, which opens in cinemas today.

She plays a man-eating demon who locks lips with co-star Amanda Seyfried and turns satanic after she is sacrificed by a band who sold their soul to the devil in order to get a record deal.

Fox, who plays the title role, explained: 'They think they are performing a virginal sacrifice but [Jennifer's] not a virgin, so it backfires and she gets inhabited by a demon.'

The gruesome film see the actress tearing men's bodies open and devouring their flesh.

Speaking about her lesbian kiss with Seyfried, she told Metro: 'There's lots of kissing everyone - boys and girls. This is a sexy one.'

The Transformers actress said that, in her opinion, girls can't be really be friends because they are essentially in competition with each other for attention.

She told the newspaper: 'Yes, girls are awful... because of the way society is set up - we're constantly in competition for male attention.

'Our fathers raise us wrong and we spend the rest of our lives searching for boys to pay attention to us, which validates us.

'So no girl can really be your friend, because if she takes attention from you, your daddy doesn't love you.'

Ariel Lin’s boyfriend needs to have qualities like Guo Jing

After being crowned Best Actress at last year’s Golden Bell Awards, Ariel Lin seems to have fallen into the “Golden Bell Curse”, since she has not acted in any drama for one entire year. She reveals that she really wants to be in a relationship: her ideal type should have traits like that of Guo Jing, and should be artistic as well.

Ariel has not acted for one whole year, and has instead turned to doing a play. Because of the high difficulty movements that she has to execute in the production, Ariel has been aching all over and lacking sleep. She professes, “Plays really drain you of your energy, we spend the most time on discussing the script.”

She also reveals her ideal type: “He should be like Guo Jing in the drama, along with being a little mysterious and artistic as well!”

In regards to her future works, Ariel is hoping to start on a new drama by next February, and wishes to take on a challenging role: “(Acting the role) from her teens to her 40s. I hope every character I take on will allow the audience to identify with her; in this way will I be able to be fully absorbed in my role. As long as the character stands out and is memorable, then it’ll be OK.”

Being busy with her work, Ariel has had no time to go on a vacation, so she watches movies to de-stress instead. However Ariel is unable to watch scary movies, and laughingly says: “Once I watch a horror movie I’ll start to think too much, and I can’t vacation alone any more!”

Her wish for her 27th birthday is for the ending of the world as described in the movie <2012> not to come true.

Google Dashboard: Good -- But More Explanation, Please

Google's Dashboard utility is a great first step toward transparency, but it doesn't go far enough.

Just how much Google do you have in your life? Now Google is giving you a tool to help answer that question: Google Dashboard, which puts personal information relating to twenty Google services you may be using on one page.

Dashboard includes everything from the number of conversations in your Gmail inbox to how many people are following you on Google Reader to the most recent task you completed with Google Tasks. Icons indicate if you've made a piece of information (such as your age) public; links let you go to the originating services and manage settings relating to them. It puts scads of information about you in one place, which is why you need to enter a password to get to it -- even if you're already logged in.

Here's what Dashboard tells me about my usage of Google Docs:

And here it tells me that I've shared an album on Orkut (which was startling to hear, since I don't remember ever using Orkut-but I figure Google has a better memory than I do):

The level of information that Dashboard provides is curiously inconsistent-the Gmail section is so granular that it tells me exactly when I last received a piece of spam and what the title was, but the Contacts one merely notes how many contacts I have. I'm not sure if there's an overarching philosophy about what info goes into the Dashboard, or whether different Google teams simply had varying philosophies.

Dashboard could use some more explanation. I already knew that I use a ton of Google services and they know a lot about me, so seeing it all in one place was more entertaining than scary. As long as I'm looking at the big picture, I'd like to get more information on exactly what Google does (and doesn't do) with my personal information -- but Dashboard's help is pretty perfunctory, and there's no concise data-point-by-data-point disclosure.

Unless you don't have a Google Account -- and if you don't, you're surely not reading this -- your Dashboard is here. If you check it out, let us know what you think. And here's Google's video introduction:

K.Stew's So Over Gossip: "It Doesn't Bother Me"

Attention all Robsten tongue-waggers: Gossip away! Kristen Stewart is over it! Totally and completely over it!

Much hay has been made in recent days about K.Stew's tumultuous relationship with the tabloids and her fierce words for gossips.

But at a press conference today in Los Angeles promoting The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Stewart indicated she'd finally found a way to cope.

"The whole rumor, tabloid stuff, it's so obviously false," she said, holding forth solo before a press mob, enthused and energetic and seemingly very happy about the whole thing.

"I became a part of a show, a ridiculous show, with false realism, like a soap opera, but it doesn't bother me. I don't take it personally, because I have gotten so much experience with this, it's gotten easier."

In fact, K.Stew now insists she gets it, how fans can get carried away, too.

"I totally understand that people have a hard time seeing us outside of our characters," she said, admitting she's very also very attached to hers, the lovestruck Bella Swan.

"I'm very protective of her. I feel a shared ownership, its weird," she said. "Maybe I am an immature girl as well; I really feel like if you think you need to do it, you need to do it, and 'it' can be anything. Be extreme. Go for it. I know this is a movie about immortality and mortality, but you only live once."

First Dell Adamo XPS Prototypes Had Multi-touch LCD TouchPads

Still drooling over yesterday's Adamo XPS pics? I am. But it could have been a very different machine. Early prototypes had LCD touchpads (similar to notebooks like Fujitsu's N7010 and Sharp's Mebius), and even a capacitive-touch keyboard. Take a look:

Though running certain apps in a tiny window could actually be pretty useful, Dell ultimately felt the cost didn't justify the gimmickry. And though the red prototype above put the notebook's ports into a concealed pop-up panel—and was only just thicker than the final design—it was still deemed too fat.

Perhaps coolest of all, is the glossy purple/blue concept. Not due to the color, but because it had capacitive-touch buttons. It got ditched over concerns that people wouldn't react well to a keyboard that doesn't move, but as you know, Dell kept the heat-sensitive capacitive latch.

Ellen DeGeneres Finally Gets Her O

After launching her massive "O, Yes I Can!" campaign to get on the cover of O magazine and Oprah then granting this wish way back in March, we finally have the actual glossy featuring Ellen DeGeneres looking superexcited to pose with the great O.

So was it worth the wait? Well, the December issue marks only the second time the daytime talk-show queen has ever shared the cover with another human. Michelle Obama being the first.

And Ellen even one-ups the first lady with a double cover:
O Magazine, Oprah, Ellen Courtesy O, The Oprah Magazine

Sorry, the second cover isn't the two ladies covered in only bows as Ellen had imagined. Maybe next year? (Gross.)

And what's that? Oprah has something to say about this momentous occasion...Quiet, everyone!

"When Ellen arrived at the photo shoot for our cover, I didn't have to ask her how she was doing: it showed on her face," says Oprah. "She radiated the kind of peace and satisfaction that comes only when you're living at your highest potential."

Yes, you know you've reached your highest potential after landing an O magazine cover. So congrats to Ellen, Michelle Obama and all these dogs. Remember, everyone: Dream big, then get your own talk show to promote those dreams and one day they might come true. You've got the power!

Former flames, Ella and Baron Chen fight on screen

Baron Chen and ex-lover Ella had broken up in a sudden unresolved fight leaving scratches on the neck. While it has already been a long time, these two parallel lines shall once again clash on screen. CTS's idol drama Fairy Tale Under the Stars ?????? (T/N: No official English name has been released yet) starring Baron Chen will soon go against CTV's Down With Love starring Ella. Baron Chen remained expressionless when he heard this and simply let out an, "Oh."

Though Baron Chen and Ella once shared a passionate relationship, it's difficult nowadays for them to even be friends. The former flames will decide who among them is the better of the two through their upcoming TV shows. Baron’s drama Fairy Tale Under the Stars will include the likes of Tanaka Chie, Lego Li, and Megan Lai, while Down With Love will star Jerry Yan alongside Ella. The upcoming Sunday idol drama showdown will be a glorious battle.

Baron Chen was not easy to deal with in the past, and it showed with the numerous criticisms he was receiving. Even his makeup artist, Chai Zhi Bing, noted that Baron would point at him and make statements such as “This or that won't do.” This time, however, during the filming of the drama Fairy Tale Under the Stars, Baron turned a new leaf and surprisingly befriended Megan Lai, whom he had never gotten along with in the past. Baron even followed directions from Zhao Shu Hai (T/N: Mark Zhao's father) without reservation. Previously, Baron developed a big shot attitude that incited Zhao to slap him in response. Zhao felt that slapping Baron was necessary at the time, or else he would have done so more often in the future. Without further comments, Baron extended his neck and received his physical punishment until he was dazed and no longer wanted to cause any more trouble.

In the filming of the drama, Baron could not get along with Megan Lai and her supposed pretentious attitude. He embarked to Beijing that day for the filming of the ancient story Butterfly Sword with the strongly male-minded female actress Ivy Chen. From Ella to Megan Lai and then to Ivy Chen, Baron seems to have hit it off best with the tomboy.

Saygus VPhone V1 poses for better photos

Remember the Saygus VPhone V1, the mysterious Android smartphone that was spotted clearing the FCC earlier this week? The company have followed up the less-than-perfect FCC shots with some glamour photos of their own, and while opinion on the V1’s looks is split – one Android Community comment suggested it “looks like a VCR” – we’re still interested to see the fruits of what looks likely to be the first Verizon Open Development device.

Saygus haven’t confirmed which exact version of Android the VPhone V1 is running, but interestingly in one of their photos the handset is shown with part of HTC’s Sense interface. The semi-circular pad at the bottom of the homescreen, with a Phone button flanked by menu and widget-shortcut keys, has only been seen on HTC devices before now, such as the HTC Hero.

Otherwise we’re left with the same specs we had earlier in the week, which basically means CDMA, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 3.5-inch 800 x 480 capacitive touchscreen, 624MHz Marvell PXA310 processor and a 5-megapixel autofocus camera. If the rumors are true, expect the VPhone V1 to drop in early 2010.

2012 won't be the end after all

Good news, PopWatchers! The world won’t be coming to an end in 2012, no matter what Roland Emmerich’s new movie says. We checked with Dr. Edwin Krupp, director of LA’s Griffith Observatory–who also happens to be an expert on the Mayan calendar–and he assured us that the Earth will continue going about its business despite what you’ll be seeing on movie screens when 2012 opens (Nov. 13). “On or about the 21st of December, 2012, the Maya calendar is going to complete one of its cycles, which is called a Baktun,” Krupp says. “It’s just an interval. It happens every 5125 years.

This particular interval is Baktun number 13, as it’s known in the traditional Maya scriptures. But the Mayans never said anything about this being the end of time. That’s just something somebody made up. In fact, there’s only one inscription on one Maya monument that refers to Baktun number 13 at all. That inscription is about a Mayan god and how he’s going to do this that and the other thing–but there’s nothing about the end of of the world.” In other words, PopWatchers, whew.

'2012' Loses Worldwide Destruction to Avoid Religious Wars

Roland Emmerich has demolished nearly every beloved monument in the world in his disaster movie career - from Big Ben in 'Independence Day' to the Statue of Liberty in 'The Day After Tomorrow' - but you won't see the German filmmaker take down Islam's holiest site in his new end-of-days flick '2012.' Emmerich had planned to show the destruction of the Kaaba, the structure in Mecca toward which Muslims turn for daily prayer, but changed his mind when his co-writer suggested the scene might spark more trouble than they'd bargained for.

"My co-writer Harald [Kloser] said I will not have a fatwa on my head because of a movie. And he was right," Emmerich told SciFiWire. "It's just something which I kind of didn't [think] was [an] important element, anyway, in the film, so I kind of left it out."

The director added, "We have to all ... in the Western world ... think about this. You can actually ... let ... Christian symbols fall apart, but if you would do this with [an] Arab symbol, you would have ... a fatwa, and that sounds a little bit like what the state of this world is."

Fans of disaster movies shouldn't fear that Emmerich is losing his edge. The director, who did include a destruction shot of the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, pushed plenty of other buttons. "Because I'm against organized religion," Emmerich explained.

"The whole Vatican kind of tips and kind of rolls over the people. It said something, because in the story, some people ... believe in praying and prayer, and they pray in front of the church, and it's probably the wrong thing, what they would do in that situation."

"I always try to come up with what makes sense for the story, you know?" Emmerich said. "And it's not only about the destruction. It has to kind of stand for something.

Rainbow “Gossip Girl” MV teaser released

DSP Media's latest addition to the family, Rainbow, has been making waves since word first got out about them earlier this year.

With the success the company has been having with Kara and more recently SS501, it's no surprise that DSP wants to continue their momentum with a fresh girl group!

Rainbow is a 7 member girl group consisting of leader Kim Jaekyung (20), Jeong Yunhye (20), Wuli (21), NoEul (21), Oh Seungah (21), Kim Jisuk (19) and Jo Hyunyoung (18). Among them, Jaekyung was revealed on the 6th to have already scored a solo CF deal with Samsung Card a few days ago, even before debuting.

Now, after two very effective teaser pictures, DSP has treated us with the girls' first MV teaser for their debut single Gossip Girl!

Just as their image suggests, the girls are sugary sweet with a hint of sassy sex appeal. Are their stunning looks and debut single enough to make them a permanent contender in the battle of the females? Are these ladies deserving of the high praises of comparison to the legendary Fin.K.L?

Nicholas Tse “unprepared” for bed scenes in upcoming movie

At a lensing ceremony for Emperor Entertainment Group’s upcoming movie production, Xian Ren in Tsim Sha Tsui a few days ago, actor Nicholas Tse was seen sporting a mature look with amoustache. The movie director’s Dante Lam as well as other stars of the movie, Nick Cheung, Sherman Cheung, and Lu Yi were also present at the event.

Nicholas revealed that both he and his wife, Cecilia Cheung, caught a cold from their son, Lucas. He also shared that Cecilia is currently suffering from a bad bout of morning sickness from her second pregnancy. Appearing listless at the event, Nicholas said that they are all sleeping in separate rooms now to lower the risk of further infection.

Nicholas was requested by the director to shoot a couple of bed scenes for his role in Xian Ren, the 29-year-old actor said, “I am still in the midst of discussing with the director. I believe that the chances of filming the [bed scenes] are very narrow. I have never filmed this before, I am still unprepared now.”

Refuting rumours that he was afraid of incurring Cecilia’s jealousy, Nicholas clarified, “No, the biggest problem lies within me.”

He joked and commented that he should offer his first time to his fellow actor, Nick, instead. Reporters asked Nick if he had to consult with his wife, Esther Kwan, before shooting the bed scenes and the actor smilingly replied, “No. I can decide for myself at work but not when I’m at home.”

“You can’t label it as ‘anticipation’ [on his bed scenes in the movie] because we are not filming a porno movie. It is succinct and will not be overly brazen.”

Congratulating his co-actor on being a father for the second time, Nick said, “He said that it was the Heaven’s arrangement for him to have another baby.”
