Hope For Haiti Now Tops Billboard Albums Chart
When the 20-track Hope for Haiti Now debuts at #1 on next week's Billboard 200 albums chart, it will be the first time in the 54-year history of the chart that a digital-only release has hit the top spot.
All proceeds from the $7.99 Hope for Haiti album — which was available for pre-order through iTunes before Friday's all-star telethon and is now also available through Amazon's MP3 service and Rhapsody — will be donated to the Haiti relief funds. Thanks to sales of 171,000, Haiti Now easily beat out Susan Boyle's I Dreamed a Dream, which holds steady at #2 on sales of 86,000, for a nine-week total just shy of 3.4 million, according to Nielsen SoundScan

News of her intentions of doing songs in Japanese had already been released by her while performing as Taiwan’s representative for an international music event last year in Japan to the Japanese press, but Rainie did not put actions to her words until she publicly sang a Japanese version of hit ballad “Ai Mei 曖昧” (English name: “My Intuition”) off her 2005 album of the same name.
Jay Chou clarified rumors about himself and Jolin Tsai getting back together at the press conference of his new movie True Legend. He questioned the press why he would be so high-profile if the rumors were true. Jay Chou explained, “When I want to go out with my friends, I’m not like most people, I can’t just go whenever I want to. It’s a rare opportunity to gather with my friends. But some media like to make up stories, and their readers end up discussing about it after they read them.”
JPop star Hikaru Utada (27) has reportedly broken up with her boyfriend. She was dating an artist eight years older than her, but sources say they drifted apart due to a lack of time together.
