HP Slate Windows 7 Tablet Gets An Early YouTube Review

The HP Slate is a real product — numerous mentions from HP VPs and various leaks state that — but it’s far from “official.” Somehow, though, a somewhat-thorough video review was just posted on the ol’ Interweb for the whole word to see. Remember, this product is head for the enterprise market and you probably won’t be able to buy it, so don’t get all flame-happy when you see with your own eyes that Windows simply isn’t meant to be controlled with you fingers.

This demo is a laughable mess when it gets to the UI demonstration even though the person recording says the Slate is ”pretty responsive, pretty quick.” Yeah, alright. At least the hardware looks solid.

After vowing never to do a nude scene, Jessica Alba gives in to naked ambition

She's very publicly stated that she wouldn't ever do gratuitous do nude scenes - so we can only presume from these pictures of Jessica Alba that the script of her latest movie must have been very good indeed.

The fact it's an arthouse action film based on Mexican B-movies called Machete makes Ms Alba revealing her birthday suit all the more baffling - not that we imagine her admirers are complaining.

The Latino star told Scarlet magazine in February that she would never bare all for the cameras, saying: 'No, I'll never do a nude scene. I can act sexy and wear sexy clothes but I can't go naked.'

The Sin City star she continued: 'I think I was always very uncomfortable about the way my body developed, and I remember my grandmother would freak out and throw a towel over me if she saw me wearing just a bra and panties.

'I come from a very Catholic family so it wasn't seen as a good thing to flaunt yourself like that. I can handle being sexy with clothes on but not with them off.'

Google: Chrome Frame ready for prime time

Google's Chrome Frame, a project to retrofit older versions of Internet Explorer with modern browser features, has reached "stable" status, which the company believes means it's ready for widespread use.

"After months of polishing, Google Chrome Frame now starts three times faster on Windows Vista and Windows 7 and the most common conflicts with other plug-ins have been fixed," said programmers Tomas Gunnarsson and Robert Shield in a blog post Wednesday. Chrome Frame emerged publicly one year ago as a developer preview and graduated to beta status in June, and the programmers promised further improvements in the future as Chrome Frame gets on the six-week release cycle of the standalone Chrome browser.

Loathing for IE6 is universal among Web developers who must reckon with its lack of standards support, sluggish JavaScript support, and less secure design; Microsoft is among those who fervently want to see it replaced. Chrome frame is a curious approach to the problem, though: given abundanct free browser alternatives--including two other major IE releases that arrived since IE6's 2001 debut--it's not clear why somebody would choose an IE brain transplant over just installing a new browser.

Lindsay Lohan 'Scared' to Go Back to Jail

Again? If twice wasn't enough, Lindsay Lohan could be heading back to the Lynwood, Calif., jail a third time.

The 24-year-old is ordered to appear before a Beverly Hills judge Friday to answer for a failed drug test – the penalty being a possible 30 days behind bars.

"She's scared she might have to go back to jail," says a source. "This is a wake-up call for her in a way. In the past, she dismissed everything, never took it seriously and now she's like 'Oh [expletive], something bad could happen.' "

The actress reportedly tested positive for cocaine as well as amphetamines recently. But experts say Superior Court Judge Elden Fox could order more rehab for Lohan in lieu of jail.

"Judge Fox is a compassionate judge who might choose to help her with her addiction versus just punishing her with jail," says L.A. criminal defense attorney Steve Sitkoff, who's not involved with the case.

10-inch Galaxy Tab promised for 2011 by Samsung Ireland General Manager

Tucked away at the bottom of a news story about who'll be carrying the 7-inch Galaxy Tab in Ireland this year is the promise of a 10-inch Tab (presumably for the whole world) next year. This comes straight from local General Manager Gary Twohig, who seems to have casually disclosed his company's plans for a 10-inch Android slate in the first half of 2011. Beyond that, all we know is that it'll include the V8 JavaScript Engine that first showed up as a touted feature in Froyo, though if we had to bet our Led Zep record collection, we'd probably say this 10-incher will be holding out for Android 3.x -- either Gingerbread or Honeycomb -- for an experience better optimized to run on larger screens. In fact, that may be the likeliest reason why this new tablet didn't debut with its 7-inch sibling: waiting on a better OS.

Calvin Chen gets his chance to shine in new Fahrenheit MV "Sexy Girl"

Following Wu Chun’s starring role in “Cherish your heartache”, Calvin Chen takes center stage as the lead in Fahrenheit's next single “Sexy Girl”. He plays a so-called mature man partying in a nightclub, while his “Sexy Girl” is played by model Monica Yin (殷琦), who is actually Vincent Liang’s girl in real life. To convey the song’s “sexy” theme, the two get up-close and even slather some whipped cream on each other's faces.

Calvin Chen praised his costar for her professionalism, “At the moment of eye contact, it feels as if she is about to take away (my soul). Especially the perfume she’s wearing, it increases people’s heart rates.” For one particular scene, Monica Yin was required to seduce him by gliding a cherry on his forehead. However, the result went from provocative to comedic when the fruit stuck onto his head.

Calvin Chen takes control back in another scene in which his character sits back in his chair like a king. He wraps a scarf around himself and Monica Yin to symbolize that their happiness is tied together. Calvin Chen also revealed the “Sexy Girl” in his mind is someone who wakes up in her boyfriend’s shirt. He said even just the thought of a girl preparing breakfast and frying eggs is already very romantic. On Monica Yin’s height, he laughed, “Fortunately I’m tall enough so (we) look compatible standing next to each other. She said she’ll teach me on how to walk down the runway when she gets a chance.”

Microsoft: "Blu-ray is Going To Be Passed By As a Format"

Need further proof Microsoft will never adopt Blu-ray, as you clutch your HD DVD drive to your chest and sob for Microsoft's halcyon HD format days? Xbox 360's UK director Stephen McGill has reiterated the future is digital downloads.

McGill told Xbox Achievements that "people have moved through from DVDs to digital downloads and digital streaming, so we offer full HD 1080p Blu-ray quality streaming instantly, no download, no delay," referring to the Zune service.

Instead of launching an Xbox 360 with integrated Blu-ray drive, "people now recognize what a smart decision it was to keep the [Xbox 360] pricing low."

Fair enough that Microsoft will never put its name to a Blu-ray drive-equipped product, but what about those add-ons Ballmer promised were coming last year?

New BlackBerry Storm 9570 with OS 6 shows up in photos?

RIM may have not one, but two new BlackBerry Storms ready to be launched. One of them is the alleged Storm 3 seen a few days ago, while the other one is the BlackBerry Storm 9570.

Looking similar to the Storm 2, the Storm 9570 should have more RAM (512MB), a better camera (5MP), and BlackBerry OS 6. Reportedly, the new smartphone’s battery is the same old DX-1 found in the Storm 2.

According to BBLeaks, this is the Storm 9570 (although this could also be just a photoshopped Storm 2)

The new 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' trailer: So much to see! So little time!

If the first full trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows left me riddled with goosebumples, today’s new HP7 trailer — focusing exclusively on Part 1 of the “EPIC FINALE,” out Nov. 19 — left me catching my breath. Mostly from excitement, sure, but also from exhaustion: It’s a roughly two minute barrage of you’d-better-not-blink shots designed to goose Potter-heads with glimpses of all the new (and returning) characters, and iconic sequences and moments, we’ve been practically feverish to see on screen. Ooo that’s Bill Nighy as new Minister of Magic Rufus Scrimgeour and wait now Voldemort’s peering into Dumbledore’s tomb and oh hey there’s the gravesite of Harry’s parents and eek it’s Prof. Snape by Voldemort’s side and hang on Imelda Staunton’s back as the diabolically pink Dolores Umbridge and whoa Harry, Ron and Hermione barely missed that double-decker bus in central London and…you get the idea. Check out the jam-packed trailer for yourself:

Samsung Tab priced at $999 in Australian money, ships November

It seems that though just about everybody's getting the Samsung Galaxy Tab, few know how much it costs, but Australian customers can expect to pay AUD $999 if they're buying off-contract. Several Australian media organizations are reporting that's what the seven-inch, 16GB Android 2.2 tablet will cost, when it arrives at the country's three major phone carriers for a slated November release. Smarthouse points out that the price reveal surprised Australian executives as a comparable iPad 3G 16GB costs just $799, though a Samsung VP told the publication, "we believe this is a fair price." We'll just let the market decide on that one, okay?

Report: Facebook working with INQ on two phones

Facebook is working with mobile phone maker INQ Mobile to create two smartphones that will highlight core features of the social-networking giant, according to a Bloomberg report.

The devices, which may have a network tie-up with carrier AT&T, are expected to be released in Europe in the first half of 2011 and in the U.S. in the second half, according to the report, which cited three unidentified sources familiar with the matter. INQ, which bills itself as the world's first social mobile handset maker, in 2009 unveiled its INQ1, which featured built-in integration with Facebook, Skype, Yahoo, Google, eBay, and Windows Messenger.

Facebook did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but a statement supplied to Bloomberg said: "We've been working with INQ for a couple of years now to help them build a deeply integrated Facebook experience on their devices. While we can't speak for their future product development plans, we can say that our view is that almost all experiences would be better if they were social."

SME on SNSD’s Japanese success and future plans

SNSD has certainly taken Japan by storm, garnering over 22,000 fans in their first showcase last month on the 25th. Top broadcasting companies have cast their spotlights on SNSD, who have headlined ‘NHK News Watch 9′ and landed on the pages of various major newspapers such as ‘Yomiuri‘ and ‘Sankei Sports.”

Their first single, “Genie,” even managed to rank in the top 5 of Oricon’s daily chart, competing with other popular stars like Arashi and GLAY. Not only that, but “Genie” showed continued signs of success, steadily climbing the charts into the 4th position on the 2nd day of its release, and reaching 2nd by the 11th day. The single has managed to sell 45,000 copies as of last week, making it the most debut singles a foreign female artist group has ever sold in Japan.

Joe Cheng, Jane Zhang, Michael Wong: Mandopop reps for Asia Song Festival '10

With Asia Song Festival 2010 only a month away, organizers for the event have recently released the lineup that will serve to raise funds for a good cause. The famous musical festival, which is held annually in Seoul and features well-known musicians from various parts of East Asia, will continue to uphold the tradition as top artists from K-pop, J-pop, Mandopop, and possibly Cantopop will delight audiences with their melodies.

Lindsay Lohan dyes her hair again as she faces 60 days in jail

Lindsay Lohan has dyed her hair again after returning to a more auburn look two weeks ago.

The actress appears to have gone slightly lighter in colour, from red to a more strawberry-blonde shade.

She also visited the Raya skin salon with sister Ali Lohan, for a facial ahead of her upcoming Friday court date.

And now it looks as if Lindsay Lohan is trying to return to more innocent days after failing two drug tests last week and having a bench warrant issued for her arrest

The actress stepped out in Hollywood last night with the newly auburn hair and suspiciously plump lips.

Wearing an oversized grey sweater and black ankle boots, the 24-year-old appeared have nothing on underneath but a pair of black tights as she went to Izaka-Ya restaurant.

Lindsay is making the most of her freedom before her 8.30am court date on Friday.

Brad Pitt Natalie Portman Attached To Jerry Lee Lewis Movie

Brad Pitt and Natalie Portman are rumored to be up for the starring roles in a new film about rock and roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis.

Robin Hood director Terrence Malick is currently at work on a film about The Killer, sources close to negotiations told MTV News last week. We hear Brad s being courted to star as the infamous “Great Balls of Fire” singer while Portman will act as Myra Gale Brown, the 13-year-old cousin Lewis married in 1957. The marriage survived for 14 years, but Lewis’ star faded as he was denounced by religious leaders across the nation. The combination of cradle-robbing, incest, and bigamy (Jerry was still married to his second wife when he wed Myra..) made an explosive scandal the sidelined the musician’s career for nearly a decade.

Malick hopes to capture it all the silver screen, sources say.

This won’t be the first time the life of Jerry Lee made it to the big screen. The 1989 film Great Balls of Fire featured Dennis Quaid starring as the rock pioneer and Winona Ryder as teen bride Myra.

HTC HD7 pictured in Taiwan

This morning, we saw blueprints of what the HTC HD7 would look like. This afternoon, we get to see the handset in real images. Taiwanese forum mobile01.com has posted several images of the HD7 Windows Phone 7 device. The handset has the very familiar HTC form, kickstand (albeit not where we were expecting), and super-thin bezel. We’ve got a few more shots of the device after the break.

Facebook Wants To Make Everything You Do On Your Phone Social

Moments ago we published the transcript of our extended interview with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, in which he outlined the company’s mobile plans (it has some really juicy stuff, and we’ll be following up with more analysis). One of the interesting things Zuckerberg discussed was Facebook’s view of an optimal phone experience — one where your phone already knows who you are, and personalizes everything, including your installed apps, based on your interests and your social graph.

Facebook has already tried to do this to some extent on the web with its Instant Personalization feature, but Zuckerberg says that it really isn’t possible (at least, not yet) to personalize the entire web experience without building a browser. He hints that this isn’t the case with mobile — and that Facebook may be able to eventually offer a way to turn your entire phone social.

Here’s the relevant portion of our conversation:

Mark Zuckerberg: I think it’s different in different places. For example, take Instant Personalization. Our goal is to make it so there’s as little friction as possible to having a social experience. So you go to some apps, take Rotten Tomatoes, which we just launched last week. If people had to click this blue button to Connect, then some percent of them would, but it would be the minority because you don’t know exactly what you’re going to get before you click it.If you had to put up some modal dialog then that would be crazy from a UX perspective. But the fact that they can do that instant integration for the users that want it means that everyone has a good experience as soon as they get there.

Wang Leehom sports slick hip-hop look in latest "Beautiful" MV

Stylish in both his music and in his fashion style, Taiwanese singer Wang Leehom combines both elements once again for his latest MV "Beautiful 美" with a catchy tune and a sharp look. In Leehom's latest track, the Taiwanese-American singer merges his western influences of soothing R&B and wicked rapping with eastern wind instrument and drum beats. At this point, the artist has already got the blending of eastern and western musical styles down to an art.

Highlighting the tune are distinctive yet contrasting looks that suitably match the tone of the song. In addition to switching back and forth between black and white suits to compliment the similar color tones of the song, Leehom also sports an overly large fur coat look and chain necklace reminiscent of those worn by past American hip hop artists.

Jennifer Lopez: I Won't Be a Diva on Idol

Will having Jenny on the block drag down the neighborhood?

No way, says Jennifer Lopez, who laughed off reports of outrageous diva-like demands during negotiations to become a new judge on American Idol.

"After as many years as I've been in this business, I'm used to that kind of stuff," Lopez said Wednesday at an Idol press conference in Inglewood, Calif. "I'm used to speculation."

If anything, Lopez says, she felt she was dragging FOX into negative headlines.

"I was calming the FOX people down," she explained. "I was like, 'Listen, it'll be gone tomorrow. Once they hear who we are and what we're doing, it's going to be fine. Don't worry about it.' I was just looking forward to getting started."

Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe even poked fun at her reputation.

"I said to Jennifer today, we heard that she only likes yellow M&Ms," he said. "I'm thinking, 'Who's going to pick them all out for her?' She said, 'No, where did that come from?'"

Adds Mike Darnell, head of alternative programming on FOX: "I can tell you from the Fox standpoint, the deal was not tough. There were no diva demands. It was a really easy, comfortable deal with both parties."

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag: Reunited and it Feels So Revolting

Newly clean-shaven and with a new outlook on life, a fresh-faced Spencer Pratt spent a quiet day at the beach yesterday with his adoring wife, Heidi Montag.

And their favorite photographer, of course. Never leave home without him.

The couple appeared to be relaxed, in love and totally natural in how they frolicked at the edge of the sea in Malibu. It's enough to bring a tear to your eye:

Following their separation, filing for divorce, exile in Costa Rica and sex tape drama, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are back together and in good spirits. Faking all that drama can be stressful, but they weathered the storm. It's inspirational.

Xbox LIVE Update Preview Program Now Accepting Sign-Ups

When Microsoft has plans to update their Xbox LIVE experience, which usually incorporates some major improvements to the Dashboard, as well as adding plenty of features, the company has a call-out for interested gamers that would like to take part in a Beta-like program. They call it a Preview Program, and it’s designed to let gamers out there get a taste for what’s coming, as well as test out the features before Microsoft rolls it out to everyone else. This year, the sign-up process has begun.

This time around, there’s plenty on the features side, just as the visuals of the Dashboard get updated. Preview program participants will be able to get their hands on some ESPN for Xbox LIVE goodness, as well as get a glimpse of what the new Zune and Netflix will look like in the upcoming update. Major Nelson has officially announced, today, that the sign-up process has begun, and if you’re interested in getting into the Preview Program, you should hurry up and go through the registration process. You’ll need to get your console ID and serial number, as well as answer some pretty general questions, so it shouldn’t take you too long.

Zuckerberg soars up Forbes list of richest Americans

If Mark Zuckerberg had a dollar for every user on Facebook ... oh wait, he does. He has lots of dollars for every user on Facebook.

Zuckerberg's net worth surged by US$4.9 billion over the past year, to $6.9 billion, putting him at number 35 on the Forbes list of 400 richest Americans, which was released Wednesday. That was up from 135th place last year.

The Facebook founder's wealth was swelled by private equity deals that put the company's value at about $23 billion, Forbes said. His education is listed on the site as: "Dropout, Harvard University."

Zuckerberg wasn't the only person to profit handsomely from the growth at Facebook, which sailed past its 500 millionth user in July. Dustin Moskovitz, who left Facebook in 2008 but retains a stake in the company, is on the list for the first time, in 290th place, with a net worth of $1.4 billion. He's also the youngest person on the list, at 26. (Forbes says he's eight days younger than Zuckerberg.)

Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin also made the Top 400 for the first time, with personal wealth of $1.15 billion.

Another Harvard dropout, Bill Gates, retained his place at the top of the list, expanding his wealth by $4 billion from last year to $54 billion. Larry Ellison has to be content with third place again, behind investor Warren Buffett. Ellison's Oracle empire has helped him to amass a fortune of $27 billion.

Other tech leaders in high places include Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who share 11th place with $15 billion each. Steve Ballmer and Michael Dell each slipped two places on the list, to 15th and 16th, with fortunes of $14 billion and $13.1 billion, respectively.

The rich got richer this year overall, Forbes said. The top 400 earners in America had a combined wealth of $1.37 trillion.

Selena Gomez Has an 'Awful' Pre-Concert Ritual

How does Selena Gomez get her voice in tiptop shape before a concert? She has a warm-up routine – and it's not a traditional one: She drinks olive oil.

"It's awful," Gomez tells Ellen DeGeneres in an interview set to run on her talk show Wednesday. "You let it go down and it coats your throat. I gag every time."

So where did Gomez, 18, learn the trick? From Kelly Clarkson – though the two haven't actually met in person.

"I read it in an interview," she says, "so, I just copied her."

"So, you know it's true," DeGeneres responds, joking. "Everything you read in a magazine is true."

Another thing that's not true: any talk of a possible romance with fellow teen pop star Justin Bieber, who, at 16, is two years her junior.

"What? Oh brother," Gomez, who's been involved with Nick Jonas off and on for a couple of years, says. "He's little. He's like my little brother. That's weird to me."

"You're a cute couple," DeGeneres teases back. "I'm just saying."

Joaquin Phoenix Returns to David Letterman with an Apology

He's sane and sorry.

More than a year after Joaquin Phoenix's awkward appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman, the actor – clean-shaven and without sunglasses – returned to New York's Ed Sullivan Theater on Wednesday to apologize for his behavior.

"I mean, I think that you've interviewed many, many people and I assumed that you would know the difference between a character and a real person," he says about the now-infamous 2009 interview, in which a gum-chomping, mumbling Phoenix barely answered Letterman's questions. "I hope I didn't offend you in any way."

The appearance turned out to be an act. Director Casey Affleck recently revealed Phoenix's supposed documentary, I'm Still Here, which followed the actor during that strange time, isn't real.

"Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no," Letterman told him. "I'm telling you, it was so much fun. It was batting practice, you know what I mean? Every one of them was a dinger."

The late-night talk show also took time out to shoot down rumors he was in on the act.

"Was there a script that you and I were working with?" he asked Phoenix, who flatly responded with, "No."

Google New: It’s Google News About New Google Stuff In One Place

In terms of blog networks, no one ever seems to talk about Google, but they actually have one of the biggest. The search giant has well over 100 blogs devoted to everything from general company news to niche things that only webmasters will care about. And with over 100 different blogs pumping out a wide variety of content, it can be hard to keep up with all the Google news. That’s why Google has created Google New.

Google New, not to be confused with Google News, their news aggregation property (which turned 8 today, coincidentally), is a landing page that gives you a quick overview of the latest news from all the various Google blogs. The default view is to show snippets from the latest blog posts in reverse chronological order, but you can also tailor the experience to be just about things you actually care about. At the top of the page is a big area that allows Google to showcase something particularly newsworth — in this case, Google Instant.

In their blog post about Google New today, Google notes that this was a 20 percent project that a few Googlers worked on to better showcase what the company is doing as a whole. You can hear more of their perspective in the video below.

Given the rate of new products Google has been pumping out recently, I’m already wondering how long it will be until we need a New Google New.

'American Idol' Confirms Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler as New Judges

'American Idol' has confirmed Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are joining Fox show in season 10. The pair will join seasoned judge Randy Jackson, Ryan Seacrest announced on Wednesday in a press conference that streamed live at americanidol.com.

The official confirmation ends weeks of speculation about the judges' line-up. Recent rumors surfaced that Lopez had signed a deal, while Tyler's participation was reported by friends and bandmates of the Aerosmith singer.

The new line-up brings big changes to 'American Idol.' Gone are original judges Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul. Gone are more recent additions, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi. "I call 'Idol' season 10 'The Remix,' baby!" said Jackson, the only remaining original judge.

Linkin Park claims top spot on Billboard 200 albums chart

It was close, but Linkin Park managed to burn a bit brighter than Trey Songz on the Billboard 200, earning their latest, A Thousand Suns, the #1 spot on next week's chart thanks to sales of 241,000 and a boost from a thrilling VMA performance. According to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan, the Rick Rubin-produced Suns outpaced Songz's Passion, Pain & Pleasure by just over 1,000 copies, with the R&B lover man's fourth CD sliding in right behind at #2 on sales of 240,000.

Both discs far outpaced the handful of other debuts in the top 10, which also include bearded country outlaw Jamey Johnson's two-disc Guitar Song (#4, 63,000), former Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant's rootsy Band of Joy (#5, 49,000) and the indie label debut of Weezer, whose Hurley comes in at #6 thanks to 45,000 units moved.

Also debuting in the top 10 at #8 is the first solo album from Killers frontman Brandon Flowers, Flamingo, which sold 41,000 copies.

Rumor: Verizon’s Motorola “Droid T2″ to be the world’s first Android Gingerbread phone

Last year, Motorola was the first to launch an Android phone with version 2.0 on-board in the US (the Verizon Droid). This year, Moto and Verizon have already introduced two new Droids (the Droid X and the Droid 2), and it seems that we should expect yet another one to come for the holiday season.

According to AndroidAndMe (which reportedly gathered all this info from various sources), a new Motorola Droid is indeed expected to hit Verizon before the end of 2010.

It’s said that the new Droid – called Droid T2 at the moment – will be the world’s first to run Android Gingerbread (which apparently is version 2.5, not 3.0; 3.0 may be dubbed Honeycomb).

Furthermore, it will be the first Android handset based on Nvidia’s dual-core Tegra 2 platform, as well as the first to feature full HD (1080p) video. This Droid T2 might be that 2GHz Moto smartphone that Sanjay Jha was talking about back in January (it won’t have a 2GHz CPU, but a dual-core 1GHz one – kind of he same thing).

First pictures of the Motorola Droid 2 World Edition for Verizon surface

We’ve heard of Verizon’s plans to launch a World Edition Motorola Droid 2 before. There were even rumors that the vanilla Droid 2 might get discontinued once that hits the shelves.

A “World Edition” or “Global Roaming” phone is basically a dual-capability device that can work both on Verizon’s CDMA network in the States and on GSM networks elsewhere, making roaming very easy for Verizon customers.

The Droid 2 World Edition doesn’t seem to differ from its CDMA-only brother at all, aside from a new paint job and those dual radios inside.

At least that’s what today’s leaked photos of this upcoming device show:

Miley Takes On Rumors In Message To Fans

Miley Cyrus wants you to know that she’s not married (Not yet anyway…), engaged (At the moment…) pregnant (Give her time…), or shacking up with her on-again/off-again boyfriend (Soon enough…).

Are we crystal?

The soon-to-be ex-star of Disney’s Hannah Montana is taking on rumors about her always buzzworthy personal life in a new online postcard to fans.

On Wednesday, the “Can’t Be Tamed” star uploaded a video to her official YouTube account in which she urged fans not to believe certain stories, including reports that she is now living with Aussie BF Liam Hemsworth — who she reunited with after an abrupt split last month.

“Sometimes I think it’s important for me to contact my fans directly,” says the 17-year-old starlet, who has been a phantom on the social networking scene since abandoning her Twitter account. “No, I’m not engaged. No, I’m not getting married … And no, I’m not living with anybody. I live at home. I’m now sitting in my mom’s shoe closet. … Just wanted to clear that up.”

Miley also used her nearly 10 minutes of tape to debunk the allegation that she was pulled over by cops in Los Angeles last week for talking on the phone while driving.

“I called the cops because the paparazzi made me nervous when I was driving. They started swerving and getting up in my face while I was trying to drive,” she explained. “They put the cameras in front of my car as I was trying to reverse. I was like, ‘OK, do I keep driving? What do I do? If I hit them I’m in trouble, but if I don’t go I sit here and just do a free photoshoot in front of all these people that I really don’t want to pay their bills’… So I called the cops.”

Michael Dell Hints at 7-Inch Android Tablet, Leaves Out the Details

The Dell Streak hasn’t been out all that long, but we already know that Dell’s hard at work at a whole range of other “tablet” devices. And it looks like the company’s Chief, Michael Dell himself managed to tease, hint, and otherwise add some speculation about an upcoming 7-inch tablet, which will feature Google’s mobile Operating System, Android. Unfortunately, the details are pretty much non-existent.

The Dell Streak, the current tablet offering from Dell running the Android platform, is available internationally right now, as well as on AT&T here in the United States. It features a 5-inch touchscreen display, as well as Android, so the guessing game has already begun on what this somewhat larger tablet device will be called. Pricing and availability were also mischievously left out, so that could be any time in the future at this point.

Alleged Texts From Ashton Kutcher to Girlfriend Surface

Will a few text messages spell the end of Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher's 5-year marriage (the pair celebrate their anniversary on Friday).

According to this week's Star, Kutcher has been having an affair with 21-year-old Brittney Jones, who shared private text messages from the actor with the magazine. The magazine has now given PopEater exclusive access to their communications.

"When's the next time you're gonna have an empty house?" Brittney wrote to Ashton.

"Not sure," he replied. "Maybe the end of the month." He then added, "I'm w/ my daughter."

"Ashton was really paranoid," Brittney told Star about the texts.

Last week, Star was the first to report the affair, claiming that Jones and Kutcher had sex on a couch while Demi was filming 'LOL: Laughing Out Loud,' her upcoming feature with Miley Cyrus.

Ashton and Demi married in 2005. It was the first marriage for Kutcher and the third for Moore, who previously wed Bruce Willis -- with whom she has three children -- and Freddie Moore. The pair met and began dating in 2003.

Verizon iPhone 4 rumors flourish as analyst tips CDMA manufacture in Dec 2010

The CDMA iPhone 4 rumors continue to circulate, with Susquehanna Financial Group analyst Jeffrey Fidacaro latest to speculate on the Verizon version of the Apple smartphone. According to his latest investor note, his checks with overseas suppliers indicate Apple is on track to produce three million CDMA iPhone 4 handsets in December, with a launch likely to take place in early 2011.

The speculation comes on the heels of Credit Suisse research that suggested 23-percent of current AT&T iPhone subscribers would consider jumping to Verizon were the Apple device available on their network. As for GSM sales, Fidacaro believes the component delays in iPhone 4 displays has been alleviated, and that will allow Apple to sell 11.6m handsets in the fourth fiscal quarter.

Microsoft Offers Rewards for Using Bing

Microsoft's Cashback service didn't work out, but the company is still experimenting with the concept of repaying users, this time with a program that rewards people for searching on Bing.

Bing Rewards offers users credits for using the search engine and allows people to redeem the credits for a variety of products. To get started, users download the Bing Bar and sign into the Bing Rewards program with their Windows Live ID. The Bing Bar displays offers that let users earn credits and also counts users' credits.

People earn credit in a variety of ways based on offers that pop up in the Bing Bar. Ways to earn credit include searching on Bing, setting Bing as the default search provider in the browser or trying new Bing features.

Signing up nets a user 250 credits, which buys the cheapest item in the program. There are a variety of items people can buy with the credits, such as DVDs, cookware, restaurant gift certificates, digital cameras and luggage.

People can use their credits to make donations to select charities, with 100 credits equaling a US$1 donation. Credits can also be exchanged for Microsoft Points to make Xbox and Zune purchases.

The program is only available in the U.S. and Microsoft is calling it a "preview," although it appears available to anyone who wants to sign up.

The launch of Bing Rewards follows the closure of Bing Cashback in late July. Cashback offered online shoppers cash rebates for buying products after searching for them on Bing. When announcing the shutdown, Microsoft said the service didn't get the broad adoption the company had hoped for.

The idea of rewarding users for searching on Bing is one that Microsoft founder Bill Gates seemed particularly interested in. Before stepping down from his leadership role at the company, he often spoke about the idea of giving people a reason to use a particular search engine.

Since launch last year, Bing has steadily if slowly gained market share. By August this year, Bing had grown its search market share by 30 percent over last year, to 13.9 percent, according to Nielsen.

AT&T Samsung Captivate gets GPS problem fixed after all

There’s a software update out for the Samsung Captivate, AT&T’s Galaxy S, just as we reported yesterday that it would be. This is not the upgrade to Android 2.2 Froyo, but an Android 2.1 update that yesterday looked rather minor. Widely reported across the blogosphere was the fact that this update did not address the GPS fix issues that many people have been facing on their Captivate smartphones.

Well, today brings some good news. It turns out that wasn’t true, and the update does indeed fix the GPS reception problems people were having. Samsung officially set the record straight by saying this:

“An update to improve the Samsung Captivate’s GPS performance is now available. Captivate customers will receive a notification on their device that an update is available and will simply need to download the file to update their phone. The updates will be pushed to customers’ devices over the next few weeks.

The update for the Captivate will also improve additional device functions, such as media scanning time, add the full version of Quickoffice and address Microsoft Exchange 2003 policy support.”

If you read our post from yesterday, that’s really all the news there is. The other improvements were already known to be coming. Also, it looks like the update won’t be pushed just during this week, as previously rumored, but the roll-out will last for a few weeks.

If you don’t like waiting, you can always manually check if the update is available for your phone. You may, however, have to wait 24 hours between such checks.

Sandra Bullock Up For Lead In “Never Forget” Movie

Oscar winner Sandra Bullock is up for the lead role in Never Forget, a screen drama a drama loosely based on director Robby Kushner’s documentary On Moral Grounds.

The film depicts a woman’s quest to “reimburse Holocaust survivors who were swindled out of their heir’s insurance policies by a European insurance company,” say unidentified tipsters who spilled the beans on the possible Bullock casting to Entertainment Weekly Tuesday.

Sandra has lined up a bevy of gigs since nabbing the Best Actress Academy Award for her work in last year’s inspirational blockbuster The Blind Side. America’s Sweetheart is up for leading roles in The Abstinence Teacher — opposite Steve Carell and the romantic comedy Most Wanted, featuring her Proposal co-star Ryan Reynolds.

Sandra is also in talks to co-star with fellow Oscar winner Tom Hanks in the big-screen adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer’s 9/11 novel Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close.

David Beckham: I Never Hired a $10,000-a-Night Hooker!

David and Victoria Beckham are slamming the latest cover of tabloid In Touch, which claims that he cheated on her with a $10,000-a-night hooker.

A rep for the two tells UsMagazine.com that the allegations -- which include a threesome and unprotected sex -- "are completely untrue and totally ridiculous, as the magazine was clearly told before publication.

"Sadly we live in a world where a magazine can print lies and believe they can get away with it," adds the rep. "We are taking legal action against the magazine."

A source tells Us that David, 35, and Victoria, 36, will definitely "fight this. They're fed up with people trying to tear them apart. Their love is strong."

The two, who have been wed for 11 years, have three sons, Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 5.

Samsung Galaxy S meets Froyo by month's end for T-Mobile UK customers

Android phones and their eternal struggle to get the latest version update, it's a book that needs to be written. It was only last night that we were hearing that the Froyo upgrade for Spanish Galaxy S users would be pushed back till late October, yet today our emotions are swung back the other way by news of T-Mobile UK promising the exact same update by the end of this month. If our solar calendars are accurate, that means there'll be no more than a 10-day wait left for T-Mo customers using this 4-incher. We'll bug the other UK networks as well to see whether their 2.2 updates are in the mail or still lost somewhere in the frozen isle.

Firefox 4 beta 7 dev going slow, RC1 not due until late October

The Mozilla team is making progress on the next generation of Firefox but it may not be ready for prime time until the holiday season.

Firefox 4 Beta 6 was released on September 14. Beta 7, which is currently under development, is slated for release sometime in the second half of September and the first release candidate is expected to be delivered in the second half of October.

These dates are very tentative. Based on the discussion at the group’s weekly meeting Tuesday, much work needs to be done before the next beta is released. There are currently 51 blockers that need to be fixed before beta 7 ships, and a total number of 758 blockers identified in the code.

This is an ambitious release for the Mozilla team and much of the planned features — such as TabCandy and enhanced Win/Mac/Linux themes — are built. However, the code may not be feature complete until Beta 8. Based on the meeting notes posted yesterday, JavaScript performance is strong vis-a-vis Chrome 5 but TabCandy is still performing slowly.

Firefox 4 will go up against Google’s Chrome 5 and Microsoft’s IE9. The last major upgrade of Firefox, version 3.5, was released in June of 2009.

T-Mobile G2 online pre-orders to start soon, launch date could be October 16

T-Mobile USA is reportedly letting some of its customers know that pre-orders for the HTC-made G2 will start “soon.”

Of course, Best Buy is already taking pre-orders (since September 10), but being able to pre-order the smartphone directly from T-Mobile is something else – and it could mean that its launch date is getting closer.

Speaking of which, TmoNews has it that the G2 will be available starting October 16 – not October 6, as previously thought.

The new Android 2.2 handset (recently announced in Europe as HTC Desire Z) will likely cost $199.99 on contract – although RadioShack will let you have it for only $149.99.

Another new Android smartphone that’s coming soon to T-Mobile USA is the myTouch HD, which should be available starting November.

HTC HD7 pictured and specced by rumormongers trying to outdo one another

This morning we had schematics, by lunchtime the HD7 received its first purported image (visible after the break), and now there's already an even bigger and better picture showing the supposed HTC Hub-enriched Windows Phone 7 interface (see above). Any bets against the phone actually dropping into our laps by dinner time? HTCInside.de has garnished its imagery of the phone with a list of specs, headlined by a 4.3-inch WVGA screen, 1GHz Snapdragon SOC (the same QSD8250 as rumored for the Mozart), a 5 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, 720p video recording, and 8GB of built-in storage. No, we're not exactly blown away by this hardware inventory either, but WMPoweruser has agreed with everything on the list, excepting a MicroSD expansion slot -- its tipster doesn't think there'll be any such expandability.
