Friends worry about the future of Lindsay Lohan

Now that Lindsay Lohan is out of rehab, many close to her wonder if she will be able to get her life back on the right track.

She dodged serving her full jail sentence after only spending 13 days behind bars, and then also got out of serving two months inside a rehab facility.

Lindsay was released from rehab after only serving 23 days because her doctors told a judge that the type of condition that she has did not need to be treated in an inpatient setting.

Lindsay must attend an outpatient clinic for the time being, but the opportunities are there for her to resort to her old ways.

“Lindsay says she’s determined to stay sober and focus on work,” says a Lohan source. “[But] it’s too soon to tell what will happen. We’ve seen these moments of ‘purity’ before, but as soon as she gets a taste of the nightlife and the drama, she usually falls back into old habits fast.”

Girls flocking to Syracuse this weekend got devastating news today: Justin Bieber is postponing his concert at the New York State Fair -- originally set for 7 p.m. tonight -- until this Wednesday, according to TMZ. He's reportedly suffering throat trouble and simply too under the weather to sing. (No word on whether medical intervention involved reaching under his bangs to feel for a fever.)

Naturally, fans of the 16-year-old pop star are atwitter on Twitter, and their idol is trying to keep them in the loop.

Yesterday, Bieber tweeted: "Been super sick lately but u guys are carrying me. thank u for the love." He later added, "thanks 4 the kind wishes. Im tough. Im Canadian. Love yall."

Officials at the fair promise to honor all tickets for today's performance, according to the Long Island Press, when filling seats for the rescheduled concert on Wednesday. The Associated Press reports that Bieber made it to the stage last night to perform for fans in Newark, N.J.

One's big, one's small and the other's a wristwatch? That's what Phil McKinney, CTO of HP's Personal Systems Group, seems to be holding in his hand. Could it be a legit webOS tablet? Pre 2? Or a *gasp* webOSwatch?

Your guess is as good as mine. The picture was taken to drum up interest in a potential SXSW talk about what gadgets we would be using in 2015. I'm assuming those devices McKinney is holding would be those type of gadgets.

Samsung Galaxy Tab, in the wild and now teasing CDMA

Okay, this is getting ridiculous. Samsung's Galaxy Tab has once again surfaced online via unofficial channels, and this time it's carrying a sticker on one side that clearly states CDMA. The iAndroid forum goer who allegedly snapped these shots praised the device for its strong speakers, call quality (although not clear if that's over 3G or WiFi), and ability to run Flash -- but at the same time notes the GPS is just a bit slow (it does work, though). More pictures in the gallery below, right next to our ever-increasing impatience to try this little guy out ourselves.

Yearbook pictures of some of America's biggest stars including Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock have been unearthed and published for the first time today on a family history website.

A brooding Brad, now 46, is seen sulking about having to make decorations for a school party.

Dressed in high-waisted jeans and a ski-themed top, he shows the chiselled jaw and thick blonde hair that would help one day make him the 'sexiest man alive'.



Miss Congeniality star Sandra's yearbook says she was a varsity cheerleader, which involved 'sacrificing a lot of time, money and energy' for Washington-Lee High School in 1982.

The photos of Sandra, now also 46, show her in cheerleading outfit, and demurely resisting the advances of her homecoming dance partner.

Will Smith and Nicolas Cage also feature, and include information on their classes, school activities and photographs they would rather forget

The entries, on Ancestry.co.uk, apparently make up the largest collection of school and college yearbooks available online.

Singer Harry Connick Junior has described his pal Sandra Bullock as an 'incredible woman' whom he would 'thank God' to have as a wife.

The actor and jazz pianist gushed about the Oscar-winning actress as he discussed her relentless commitment to his beloved home city of New Orleans, devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.


When asked by talk show host Larry King about Bullock's recent traumas over the breakdown of her marriage, Connick Jnr - who is happily married - seemed to send out a stark message to her cheating soon-to-be-ex-husband Jesse James.

'I think Sandy is an incredible woman and she doesn't need my prayers, she's so strong,' he said, during Friday night's special episode to mark the five-year anniversary of the deadly hurricane.

'I pray for her and I send her emails and tell her I love her and I hope she's doing well.

'That woman is one of the fiercest, strongest most dedicated people I know.

'It's sucks, man. Let's put it this way, if she was my wife I would be on my knees thanking God that I had a woman like that.

'Everybody's different but I know her pretty well. Like my wife now, I wouldn't screw that up for all the money in the world, for anything.'

Pointing to his own wedding ring, he added: 'This means a lot.



'It's a pretty serious commitment, I'm not passing judgment on anyone but whoever ends up with her (Bullock) for good is gonna be one lucky son of a gun.

'I know her son doesn't even know how lucky he is.'

Connick Jnr, 42, also hailed Hollywood movie star Brad Pitt for his efforts to rebuild the southern city - but surprisingly revealed that he had yet to meet him.

'I think it's great,' he said. 'Right after the storm I heard about his involvement and I wrote him a note to thank him for his commitment.

'He's very well known and well liked and we need all the help we can get. He's really committed to it, he's down here all the time doing a great job.

'He's a God send and I just hope that one day I can meet him and shake his hand and say "thank you" in person.'

Opening up about his own losses from the hurricane, which killed more than 1,800 people and caused £60 billion in properly damage, Connick Jnr told how he broke down in tears in front of his children for the first time.

'None of us had ever been through anything like that before, we tried to march through it as best we could,' said the songwriter, who has three daughters with former Victoria's Secret model Jill Goodacre.

'I just completely lost it. Two of my kids were there looking at me, they had never seen me cry before.

'It was impossible not to be affected by it, it was one of the most devastating things I'd ever seen.

'This is you home, your country it was very, very difficult to witness.'

Connick Jnr, who now lives in Connecticut, says he could not even face picking up a pen to write music in the aftermath of the tragedy.

'There are some things I can't write about, terrible personal tragedies,' he said.

Though his own relatives came through the natural disaster unharmed, the house he had grown up in was ultimately destroyed.

Samsung Galaxy Tab to have HDMI dock, leather case, and other sideshow trinkets

We're starting to think Samsung has given up the pretense of keeping the Galaxy Tab's details secret and is letting them all out now. Accessories for its upcoming 7-inch Android tablet have been spotted on one of Sammy's many online portals, complete with pricing. The headline act here will be that "table charging station" on the top left, which happens to have a neat set of HDMI and audio output ports, making the Tab a quirky but viable choice for pumping movies into your HDTV. It's said to be priced at €54 ($69), which we might consider expensive if it wasn't for the keyboard peripheral costing €82 ($105). The relative bargain of the set is the leather case that doubles as a stand, asking for only €41 ($52). Bear in mind we've spotted some non-Latin writing on the front of the dock, so it's possible we're looking at localized Asian pricing, which might dip (or rise!) once the Tab and its cohorts make their way westward.

Eddie Ng publicly tells Jackie Chan to "keep mouth shut"

Jackie Chan has a reputation in the entertainment industry and is respected as the "Big Brother" by other artists. However, Eddie Ng gives no face, responding to Jackie's Philippines hostage comment, criticizing him of not using his brain before he speaks and publicly told Jackie to shut up.

The day before, Jackie tweeted on Twitter commenting on the Philippines hostage incident, which seems to be supporting the Filipino police. 'Last Exorcism' tops 'Takers' for Friday night win at the box office

The Last Exorcism topped Takers on Friday night with approximately $9 million from moviegoers seeking a good scare. The Pg-13 rated horror flick from producer Eli Roth and Lionsgate is now on track for a weekend gross of north of $20 million. (That’s not bad for a weekend where tracking suggested the winner wouldn’t walk away with much more than $15 million.) The urban crime drama Takers didn’t have a bad showing either on Friday. With around $7 million earned its opening day, the Screen Gems release starring Paul Walker, Idris Elba and Chris Brown could also generate a weekend take of over $20 million. It’s unclear which film will walk away with top weekend honors. (To come in first, Exorcism would have to hold off a steep drop, which often happens with horror flicks.)

The re-release of Avatar doesn’t seem to be having a huge impact on the marketplace. Bowing in some 800 theaters, the 3-D flick grossed a bit over $1 million on Friday for a tenth place showing. Its weekend take could add up to around $4 million for the frame, pushing Avatar‘s total domestic gross to north of $750 million.

The rest of the top five is being dominated by holdovers. The Expendables earned just under $3 million, while Eat Pray Love grossed around $2 million and The Other Guys earned just under $2 million. If the weekend holds as predicted, Expendables should gross another $9 million its third weekend in release, while Eat Pray Love will earn $7 million and Other Guys should gross just over $6 million. And although Katy feels she's too busy to have children right now with Russell, 35, she knows she does want them one day.



'I see myself as a professional right now and hopefully when I decided it's time for children, I'll be able to devote myself to that,' she tells Britain's OK! magazine.

But fans of the couple shouldn't expect them to ever work together, as Katy feels her professional life and personal life shouldn't overlap.

'I don't know. I think that's always one of those things that can get quite sensitive. There's a place to be professional and a place to be intimate and some things they can't co-exist.'

Katy and Russell are due to be married later this year.

Lawyer: Don't Judge Paris Hilton on Drug Bust Yet

Paris Hilton's coke arrest was her latest drug-related brush with the law this summer, and by all accounts the most serious. But don't jump to any conclusions, her lawyer says.


"This matter will be dealt with in the courts, not in the media, and I encourage people not to rush to judgment until all of the facts have been dealt with in a court of law," says attorney David Chesnoff in a statement.

Beyond that, Hilton's camp isn't issuing any statements or explanations. The 29-year-old heiress was released without bail Saturday morning after she was arrested in Las Vegas for investigation of cocaine possession. The drug was allegedly found in her purse after a traffic stop.

For her mugshot, she struck a stylish pose, smiling coyly for the police camera, her hair cascading over her bare shoulders.

Hilton, who was jailed three years ago in an alcohol-related driving case, is no longer on probation in that case and so won't face additional penalty due to the cocaine arrest, a source tells PEOPLE.

In July, she was questioned by South African police at the World Cup for allegedly smoking marijuana and later held by police in Corsica after being allegedly caught with a small amount of pot in her purse. In both incidents, she was released without being charged.

Toshiba's Tegra 2-powered Android Smart Pad to be called Folio 100?

A Smart Pad? That's just Toshiba's product category, according to Netbook Italia's latest post on the tablet (it's previously shown off some apparent imagery). The publication has published new renders -- including a dock peripheral -- and some purported specs. Here's what's being said: Android 2.2, NVIDIA Tegra 2 (both of which we've heard in other whispers), a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 screen, 16GB internal memory, 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, 3G, SD and MMC card readers, HDMI and USB 2.0 ports, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, and a 1020mAh battery with a battery life of up to 7 hours with mixed use (browsing and video playback). Software-wise, it's got Opera mobile browser, Flash 10.1, an e-book reader, and some office applications. The doubting Thomas in us still remains hesitant until Toshi gives the official word, but nothing here seems too crazy for the tablet mania most companies seem to have this year. One thing's for sure, its claimed official name -- Folio 100 -- is a few degrees to close to some bad memories of ours.

Facebook for iPhone Scores 100 Million Monthly Users

The Facebook application for iPhone now has over 100 million active monthly users, according to the latest reports.

Tech focused site Redmond Pie points to a recent post on the Facebook Developer Blog which reveals more than 150 million people actively using Facebook from mobile devices. Of those, 100 million active users per month use the Facebook for iPhone application.

According to David Kirkpatrick, author of The Facebook Effect, the application is: "So heavily used compared to other apps that I have been told by someone who thought he knew the data -- this is highly secret data and I don't know the actual numbers - that more than half of all usage of the iPhone of apps, other than those provided by the phone itself like telephony and email, is coming from Facebook."

The latest version of Facebook for iPhone includes a number of new features, including Places, currently only available in the U.S. Places gives you the option to share your location by "checking in" to a place and letting friends know where you are.

The recent Facebook iPhone update adds "granular" privacy settings, a snappier inbox with support for threads with multiple users, and improved performance when commenting, liking or posting stories and fixes login issues.

Available from the Apple iTunes App Store, Facebook for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is free and requires the iPhone 3.0 Software Update or later.

Apple Now Shipping iPads Within 24 Hours

Good news, potential iPad owners. It appears that the drought is over. Cupertino, California-based Apple is now shipping iPad units within 24 hours from the moment of purchase. Previously, it took somewhere between 7 to 10 business days — in some cases, even more than that — to ship an iPad to its owner. Manufacturers just had a really hard time keeping up with the extremely high demand.

It wasn’t until very recently that shipping times because shorter and shorter. Finally, Apple reportedly changed the shipping time to 24 hours yesterday, which is good news to new iPad customers.

It’s important to bear in mind that the initial “iPad rush,” where everyone in the world was trying to get a device, is now over. In other words, demand for the highly popular tablet is now subsiding.

This award is shared between him and Wang Xueqi, who won with "The Assassins and Bodyguards." Kara Hui and Vicki Zhao both won "Best Actress" with movies "At the End of Daybreak" and "Mulan". "The Founding of a Republic" won "Best Chinese Story Film." Sandra Ng won "Best Supporting Actress" with movie "Echoes of Rainbow."

Nick expressed in his speech that "The Beast Stalker" let him won many awards and this is his first time winning in Mainland, which is pretty meaningful. Nick received 7 "Best Actor" award from Golden Horse, HK Film Awards, Asian Film Festival, Film Critics Society, Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival, Chinese Film Awards, and last night's Changchun Film Festival.

Many men wouldn't chase Megan Fox out of bed but it seems the sexy siren just managed to look presentable on a morning jaunt with new husband Brian Austin Green.


The superhot actress was spotted shopping in LA looking fresh-faced and sporting what appeared to be bedhead.

Megan was wearing a clingy silver dress which showed off all of her curves and looked very much like she could be wearing her nightie.

She paired the dress with wedge sandles which helped to smarten her look.

But if anyone can pull off a 'just got out of bed look' it's Fox. Her dress was slashed to her upper thigh showing off her toned pins.

Fox, 24, and Green, 36, dated on and off for six years and were engaged twice but they finally seem to be happy and settled in their relationship.

Megan also showed off her sparkling wedding ring which glistened in the California sunshine.

The starlet is going to be putting her stunning looks to good use as the new face of Giorgio Armani Cosmetics in the new ad campaign out this autumn.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 for AT&T review

We've already published a pretty exhaustive review of Sony Ericsson's Xperia X10 some five months ago, but it's taken until this month for it to reach AT&T's network and retail chain. A lot's changed in the mobile phone market since then -- the iPhone 4, the EVO 4G, Dell Streak, numerous Verizon Droids, and so on. Does the X10 still compete? Read on to find out.

Same as it ever was

By and large, we're looking at identical hardware (and mostly identical software) as our review unit from back in March, so we'll be brief. The phone feels lighter than you might expect for a 4-inch smartphone, and while we like the matte backing, the glossy front has just as much of an affinity for fingerprints and smudges as we've (unfortunately) come to expect. There's a 3.5mm headphone jack next to the power button and micro-USB port, a dedicated camera button and volume rockers on the side, and just below the screen there's the familiar Android menu, home screen, and back buttons. For a split second, we forgot that the magnifying glass next to volume down actually means "zoom out," and as such we are still lacking a dedicated search button. And it's still annoying.

Going through the box, aside from various leaflets and informational papers, we find a Sony Ericsson-branded headset, a micro-USB cable, and an USB charging dongle for home power outlets. Our favorite part of the this bright orange-and-white package, though, has to be the screen film with "TXTNG & DRIVING... IT CAN WAIT" written on it. Words to live by, sure, but we've been known to leave the film on for a few days while we find an alternate screen protector, and ain't gonna cut it.








The camera is still the X10's crowning achievement, and we're happy to say it still takes great still pictures even in low-light situations. Moving pictures, on the other hand, are limited to WVGA resolution at most. It's still a perplexing design issue.

Now for the software, and we're sad to say it's still Android 1.6. Sony Ericsson has provided what it says is a "nice bridge between Android 1.6 and Froyo." What that means here is Exchange Active Sync, remote wipe, calendar sync, contacts, calendar and tasks. There's also Timescape and Mediascape for you social networking and entertainment needs, respectively. That's great and all, but we've still got two major issues. The first is lack of multitouch anywhere, in any app. All this sleek hardware and large screen and we're still stuck tapping on-screen cues for zooming in and out. If SE really wanted to bridge a gap, mult-digit support should be high on the list of to-do's. Speaking of sleek hardware, despite a 1GHz processor, the skinned Android OS still suffers from jerkiness and strange lag -- especially Timescape, if you haven't checked it in awhile. And yep, like we said before, keyboard is still sluggish.

And now for something completely different

So what has changed? AT&T branding for starters, replacing the Xperia name on the back of the hardware. Call quality has been just about on par with our iPhone 4 and we haven't had an issue with dropped calls. The X10 comes preloaded with the carrier's suite of apps (Family Map, Hot Spots, Maps, Navigator, and Radio), none of which we really plan on using again. And because this is an AT&T phone, you won't be able to sideload apps. Android Market only, folks.



Wrap-up

When we first reviewed the X10, it had a lot more going for it. But now we have to look at it from the context in which it was released: a smartphone arguably over the hill before it even set ground in Ma Bell, retailing for $150 on contract. For just $50 more you can get the Samsung Captivate, arguably an improved version of this form factor in almost every way (screen, Android OS version, hardware). For $50 less, there's the iPhone 3GS equipped with iOS 4 -- and that's all assuming you're committed to AT&T. The camera is its bright point, but even that gets knocks for surprisingly low-quality video capture. If that really matters, do yourself and pick up a point-and-shoot camera instead; save that upgrade discount for something you won't try to strangle before the two-year commitment is up. For all the things that make the X10 Mini Pro enjoyable -- size, snappiness, physical keyboard -- they're just not here, but the limitations seem to have stuck.

StreamTV Elocity A7 tablet packs Tegra 2 and Android 2.2, coming to Amazon for $399 in September

We can't say we'd ever heard of StreamTV, but all the company had to say was "Tegra 2 Android Froyo tablet" to get us to meet up with them in NYC earlier today. The Philadelphia start-up is planning to bring its Elocity A7 -- essentially a re-badged Compal's NAZ-10 -- to an Amazon order page near you, and from what we saw during the hour-long demo it may just be a contender for your stashed away $399. The 7-inch tablet has an extremely responsive 800 x 480 resolution, capacitive touchscreen -- yes, multitouch worked in the browser and photo gallery -- with a front-facing 1.3 megapixel cam on the left bezel. We actually got to make a quick Fring video call to one of the other tablets in the room, though it was rather lagging since we were running over it all 3G.

Surrounding the tablet is an SD card slot along with USB and HDMI ports, the latter of which did come very handy for hooking up the tablet to a 22-inch HDTV and watching an extremely smooth 1080p clip. (Thank you 1GHz Tegra II-720 CPU!) Speaking of, we also got to play a racing game, Asphalt 5, on the device, though the accelerometer steering was a bit flaky. Besides that, we've got to say the entire tablet experience was pretty smooth -- you can see for yourself after the break and in the upcoming episode of the Engadget Show -- but the unit we saw was running Android 2.1. The SteamTV's CEO says they'll only be shipping 2.2-running units come October and with a supplemental GetJar app store since it cannot preload Google's Marketplace because of restrictions. He also tells us they'll be including an HDMI cord and wireless keyboard in the box -- all for $399. It all sounds rather promising, but so do all these future Android tablets!

KAT-TUN’s Ueda Tatsuya, rushed to hospital after suffering injuries during performance!

KAT-TUN is currently holding their final stages of “KAT-TUN LIVE TOUR 2010 PART2：WORLD BIG TOUR“, at the Taiwan Arena, and on the 27th, member Ueda Tatsuya, disjointed his left big toe during the performance.

Tatsuya was putting on a solo performance of “RABBIT OR WOLF“, he jumped onto the stage off a 3 meter high platform and failed to land properly. Although Tatsuya was able to make it backstage by himself, he collapsed upon doing so. Luckily there were ambulance waiting outside, so he was quickly transported to the hospital.

After Tatsuya left, the 4 remaining members kept the performance going, and Kamenashi Kazuya, told the audience of 13,000 that Tatsuya would come back the next day.

According to Johnny’s Entertainment, since Tatsuya says that he wants to perform no matter what, he will perform, even if he cannot perform as well as he usually does.

Kim Tae Hee’s face is 16 years old?

One of Korea’s main beauties, is none other than actress Kim Tae Hee. And… her face was beautiful and young enough to bring the attention of world renown makeup artist, Bobbi Brown, who is also the CEO of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics.


On the most recent episode of Onstyle’s Style Magazine, Bobbi Brown was interviewed and stated that, “Korean women have such good complexion and facial structure, having their own style.”

She was shown pictures of female Korean celebrities, and spotted Kim Tae Hee. After seeing her photo, she stated, “She has a very beautiful face and has great skin. I think she looks very young; around sixteen-ish.”

Bobbi Brown was then shocked to hear that Kim Tae Hee was 14 years older (30) then what she had thought, saying, “I can’t believe it. As a woman, I am jealous.”

Other celebrities who she complimented included, Park Bo Young and 2NE1’s Sandara Park.

Cops: Coke Found in Her Purse during Traffic Stop; Her Boyfriend Hit with DUI, Drug Possession Counts

Celebrity heiress Paris Hilton was arrested Friday night and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for possession of a controlled substance, described by Las Vegas Metro Police as cocaine.

Hilton was a passenger in a car when Metro conducted a traffic stop around 11:30 p.m. Friday in front of the Wynn Hotel and Casino on the famed Las Vegas Strip, according to Officer Marcus Martin, public information officer, who spoke with CBS affiliate KLAS-TV.

During the course of the traffic stop, police conducted a search and found an undisclosed amount of cocaine in Hilton's purse.

An officer indicated to 8NewsNOW that a possible odor of marijuana was initially detected, requiring further interaction with police.

Hilton was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

A clerk at the Clark County Detention Center indicated early Saturday morning that Hilton "had been booked and released." Further details were not available from the jail.

A Metro watch commander also said the male driver was arrested for DUI and drug possession. He declined to identify the driver.

Celebrity Web site TMZ.com reported Hilton and her boyfriend, Cy Waits, were likely headed to Las Vegas on a private jet from Los Angeles Friday. Waits runs several nightclubs in the city.

Donnie Yen to Star in Comedy with Carina Lau, Louis Koo, and Angelababy
