CNBLUE plagiarized their album title?

According to certain netizens, the answer is yes.

The dust has yet to settle after CNBLUE fell under fire with plagiarism accusations regarding their debut album I’m a Loner, and the media has announced that the unsolved matter will officially be taken to the court. However, it looks like FNC Music, CNBLUE’s label, might soon have a second controversy to clear up against Ynot, the indie band that claims to be the victim in this issue. A number of netizens now believe that FNC Music has not only plagiarized the track itself, but also their album title; some people have noticed an uncanny similarity between the two names.

As many already know, CNBLUE’s album is entitled Bluetory, and the track of the alleged original album by Ynot is titled Bluebird. Obviously the word ‘blue’ is used in both titles. Now, some may argue that this alone isn’t enough to make a plagiarism case, since ‘blue’ is such a common word. However, it turns out ‘tory (??)’ actually means bird in Japanese, making both titles essentially identical.

FNC Music has made a statement regarding this allegation:

“The album was personally titled by the president of our agency. It’s a combination of the word ‘blue’, a reference to CNBLUE, and ‘tory (??),’ a pure Korean word [terminology commonly used in literature, not everyday language] that refers to the musical individualism that each region of a country has. Together, ‘Bluetory’ refers to the idea that CNBLUE will show their own color of music to the audience.”

“Show their own color”? How ironic…

Ella & Jerry Yan’s Bed Scene – Perspiration-filled Chat

Ella and Jerry will be having a “bed scene” in CTV and GTV’s [Down With Love]. However both artistes were fully clothed throughout, as their bed scene is a very safe and wholesome one. Both of them are just lying on bed, under the blanket to chat. Although the scene seemed relaxing, to be able to film while lying down; it was not all a breeze as it was filmed during the hot summer and the room was packed with crew members. As the air-conditioner could not be turned on during filming, everyone was perspiring badly. Ella shared that Xiao Xiao Bin and Ji Xin Ling also popped in to play, hence, it was really messy and stuffy on the set, making the bed scene very stuffy.

New role for Megan Fox as gun-wielding prostitute in comic book movie Jonah Hex

From the side, wearing a floor-length skirt and clutching a black parasol, Megan Fox passes for demure - a million miles from her usual persona.

But when she turns to display her more regularly viewed charms in an unbuttoned blouse, it becomes apparent why the sexy starlet was chosen for her latest film role.

She plays a gun-wielding prostitute, Leila, the love interest of Jonah Rex (Josh Brolin) - a bounty hunter who has been shot so many times he has one foot in the living world and one foot in the other.

Fox exists as Hex’s only human connection in his quest to track down terrorist Quentin Turnbull, played by John Malkovich.

Nexus One Sales Continue to Lag: Just 80,000 in First Month

The early outlook on the Nexus One—just 20,000 sold in its first week—hasn't gotten any better. After a month on the market, Google's moved just 80,000 phones. Compare that to the original iPhone and Droid launches.

The relative sales results, shown above and using estimates by Flurry Analytics, aren't pretty for Google. Granted, it's not an entirely fair comparison. Droid and the iPhone were marketed within an inch of their lives, and had better carrier support than the Nexus One does on T-Mobile. But even taking that into consideration, 80,000 phones in a month? That's borderline embarrassing.

iPhone Is Now More Popular than DS and PSP Among Game Developers

Game Developer Research says that Apple is winning the race among handheld game developers: 19 percent write now for the iPhone and iPod touch. That's more than double the amount of Nintendo DS and Sony PSP developers. Other interesting figures:

• Handheld games are now 25 percent of the whole gaming market, up from 12 percent before the iPhone/iPod touch phenomenon.
• During the last three quarters, all handheld game developers are writing for the Apple iPhone and iPod touch.

Taylor Lautner's Next Role a Bit of a Stretch

Taylor Lautner's latest project should please fans and detractors alike.

For those who love him, it's more screen time. And for those who hate him, it's a chance to see the hunky teen get pulled limb from limb.

The New Moon star has landed yet another muscles-required role, this time that of action hero Stretch Armstrong in an upcoming Universal film based on the Hasbro toy.

Which, by the way, will be shot with that snazzy new 3-D technology.

"In the past two years, Taylor has emerged as a real star at the global box office," says Universal Pictures cochair Donna Langley. "He brings the perfect balance of energy and athleticism to the role of an unlikely super hero with a fantastic super power. We couldn't be more pleased that he has agreed to be our Stretch."

Expect Stretch Armstrong to spring into theaters in 2012.

And May The Safest Browser Win!

The now famous tussle between Google and the Chinese government over censorship has brought to the fore another issue that poses an equal, if not greater, threat to Internet freedom.

The bug, often referred to as ‘vulnerability’ in the system, reared its ugly head and got the attention it deserved when Google pointed the finger at Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (version 6-IE6) as a point of entry for hackers.

Quick to respond, Microsoft released a patch to plug the security hole. In no time, the international media were awash with reports of France, and then Germany and Australia, issuing advisories against using IE, and recommending shifting “temporarily” to other browsers.

Now, Microsoft has reported another vulnerability that affects Windows XP users. According to its February 3 advisory, this allows hackers to host a website and (or) access your data.

T-Mobile getting Moto CLIQ XT, HTC HD2, Nokia Nuron next month?

The ironclad legitimacy of this slide can't be confirmed, but considering what we know and what we've heard about T-Mobile USA's plans for the next few months, we can totally buy what we're seeing here. The PowerPoint masterpiece -- which showed up on a PPCGeeks forum thread recently -- has the midrange Android-powered Motorola Zeppelin as the "CLIQ XT" with a target launch of March 10, giving customers already flush with choices yet another way to get their Google on. Next, the Nokia "Nuron" (which looks an awful lot like a 5230 to us) is being billed as a "low-cost touchscreen" with 3G and Ovi Store access for a March 17 date with destiny, and finally, the mighty HD2 -- which we already know is coming to T-Mobile -- is said to be ready come March 24. Now, don't get us wrong, the HD2 is a helluva phone -- but if Windows Mobile 7 is really unveiled in a few days at MWC like everyone expects, that's going to make the launch of a high-end 6.5 device just a little anticlimactic.

Core i7 MacBook Pro benchmark tips incoming Apple refresh?

Benchmarking results for unannounced MacBook Pro models apparently running Intel Core i7 processors have reignited rumors that Apple intend to imminently update their flagship notebook range. The Geekbench results were apparently recorded on February 4th 2010, and clearly indicate that the MacBook Pro (listed as a MacBookPro6,1) has a 2.66GHz Core i7-620M processor paired with 4GB of DDR3 memory.

As for the performance, the mystery MBP scores 5260 in Geekbench – which is a synthetic test of memory and processor capabilities – almost a third higher than current top-spec Core 2 Duo models. The new chip brings both Hyperthreading and Intel’s TurboBoost technology to the table.
