Fun Fact of Kpop: When they first debuted…

Stumbled across a collage of photos of girlgroups and female singers when they first debuted posted by a netizen on a online portal community site, and I thought I should share it.

Go under the cut to see how your favourite girlgroups have looked like when they first debut.

What a difference a year makes: Troubled Lindsay Lohan looks healthy and happy in LA

It may be a sartorial nuisance, but Lindsay Lohan's court-imposed alcohol detecting SCRAM anklet appears to be doing her the world of good.

The actress looked healthy and happy as she left Fred Segal in Los Angeles yesterday.

Smiling as she strolled down Melrose Avenue with younger sister Ali and new friend Lady Victoria Hervey, the 23-year-old appears to have regained her curves.

In the past 12 months Lohan's weight has plummeted, with pictures of her worryingly thin frame provoking comment in the media.

However, perhaps the unsightly anti-alcohol anklet she has to wear is leading to a healthier lifestyle in more ways than one.

Pucker face: Lady Gaga and girl friend have a cheeky kiss at baseball game

Baring in mind she was wearing a studded bra and fishnet tights to a baseball game, one would think Lady Gaga wouldn't need to do anything in particular to gain paparazzi attention.

However, the Poker Face star certainly had photographers snapping as she puckered-up to a female companion in the bleachers.

The mystery brunette leaned in for a kiss while watching San Diego Padres take on the New York Mets in New York.

Seemingly oblivious to the surrounding photographers the pair snuggled up together before leaning back and smiling broadly.

And if the surprising tryst wasn't enough to get tongues wagging, the singer's outfit certainly was.

Droid X gets shown off alongside iPhone, EVO 4G and Droid Eris

There’s not denying that the Droid X floodgates are wide open now. Over at the Android Forums some new photos of the device have emerged by way of user matrix2004. Far more fascinating than the typical leaked images, what makes these ones special is that the show off the X next to EVO 4G, iPhone 3G and Droid Eris giving us a good idea of its size. No surprises here, but it’s absolutely massive. Other things of note in the image are some of the custom widgets that come along with “Shadow BLUR“, the (thankfully) tasteful update to MOTOBLUR. Hit the jump to check out the X next to the Droid Eris.

Report: FTC will investigate Apple

The Federal Trade Commission will open an investigation into whether Apple is illegally using its position in the mobile software market to harm competitors, according to several published reports.

On Friday afternoon, both Bloomberg News and The Wall Street Journal reported that the FTC had opened a formal probe.

At issue is Apple's recent tweaking of its App Store rules. In May, Apple made changes that prohibit certain developer tools from being used to create applications for the iPhone and iPad, and on Monday effectively blocked Google's AdMob and other non-independent mobile ad networks from accessing applications on the iPhone.

Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The probe will look at whether Apple is using its highly successful App Store to hurt competitors. When Apple changed the rules on which tools could be used to write apps sold in the App Store it raised eyebrows, as the shifts seemed to specifically target Adobe, with whom Apple recently had a public fallout.

'Karate Kid' schools 'A-Team' with a $19 million Friday

Who knew the summer would be saved by The Karate Kid? That may happen now that the Jaden Smith-starring remake has earned an estimated $19 million Friday and is now on target for a weekend gross that could reach $60 million. It’s surprising in that everyone expected The A-Team to win Friday night but Karate Kid to take the weekend. Instead the PG-13 rated A-Team may not cross $10 million for Friday night, putting its weekend gross at $27 million. That means The Karate Kid, with its $40 million budget and 2 hour and 20 minute run time, just crushed the $100 million-budgeted The A-Team. Yikes.

The rest of the top five is made up of holdovers, with Shrek Forever After grossing an estimated $4.5 million for a weekend that could reach $15 million. The R-rated Judd Apatow-produced comedy Get Him to the Greek earned another $3.3 million on Friday, a number likely to translate to $10 million for the three days. And the action comedy Killers with Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher is likely to round out the five with a $2.8 million Friday that should become $8 million by the end of the frame.

Robert Pattinson Teases "Totally Hardcore" Breaking Dawn, Edward/Bella Sex Scenes

It's official: Breaking Dawn will be split into two movies.

But what will those movies be like? In a new interview with a French magazine, Robert Pattinson jokes about making them "totally hardcore" and "having to ban [the film] for people under 16.”

Don't worry, folks, he's kidding.

But the actor, seen above and below on the set of Water for Elephants, is serious about how much sexier this final installment of the Twilight Saga is when compared to the first three.

After all - SPOILER ALRERT!!! - Edward and Bella cross a major line in the book. Says Pattinson:

“It’s going to be interesting. The story goes in directions so different and I’m curious what it will turn out like... We get married, sleep together... All the tension from the three previous films is resolved in Breaking Dawn.

Apple Hits 10,000 iPad Apps — Store Doubled In The Past Six Weeks

During his keynote address at WWDC on Monday, Apple CEO Steve Jobs rattled off some key statistics. Among them was that there are 8,500 native iPad apps. Actually, at the time, Apple had over 9,000, but we’ll let that slide. How do I know how many app there were? Because unlike other stores Apple oversees, they actually posts the number of apps available for the iPad. And that number just hit 10,000.

If you go to the App Store app on the iPad and click on the “Release Date” area, you can see the total for yourself. Along the top of that area, it will read “1 – 12 of xxxx” — “xxxx” being the current number of apps that are built to run on the iPad.

Back at the end of April, it was reported that Apple was approaching 5,000 iPad apps (actually, they were past that number at the time). That means that in about six weeks, the iPad App Store has doubled in size. Given the iPad’s stellar sales, this is hardly a surprise.

White feathers and flames, Jay Chou's 4D concert at Taipei Arena for the first time

Chinese heavenly king Jay Chou holds his first concert at the Taipei Arena. From the opening effects, white feathers, flames and the virtual Jay, it was a super "diao" concert.

Rain, Lee Dahae, Jang Keunsuk, Kim Taehee and Song Seungheon to film with Chinese company Huayi Brothers

Two of the biggest entertainment empires from China and Korea – Huayi Brothers and IHQ – have recently announced a collaboration effort in TV drama production.

“This co-production won’t just be Korean actors filming in China, but really tell the story between Koreans and Chinese. We will film in both countries, and complete post-production in Korea,” said Hao Lin, head of Hao Lin Studios of Huayi Brothers.

Two series are currently in production – spy series “Kung Fu” and modern love story “Autumn Rhapsody.” From the Korean side, “Kong Fu” will star Rain (IHQ), Lee Dahae(IHQ) and Jang Keunsuk (Huayi) and will tell the tale of a Korean-Chinese spy war against Japanese imperialism during WWII (Benji: Ah, yes, if there’s anything to unite China and Korea, it’s anti-Japanese sentiment~). The series is co-produced by the Hao Lin Studios and the Korean Studio that brought you “Iris.”
