Ethan Ruan is "fated" to return as a drunken man?

All eyes are on Ethan Ruan after his breakout role in the hit movie “Monga”. He has yet to take on any new projects since then, and was said to have turned down many offers. The latest rumor suggests he will be playing the “Monkey King” in the Stephen Chow-produced film “大話西遊之三藏伏魔 (A Chinese Odyssey Part 3)”. Ethan Ruan’s manager denied it saying the actor is indeed close to signing onto a movie, but not Stephen Chow’s.

SETTV also hopes Ethan Ruan can save them from their ratings misery. The network's executive VP Su Li Mei (蘇麗媚) announced two big-budget idol dramas for next year including the 2nd installment of “Fated to Love You” titled “醉後決定愛上你 (roughly translates to ‘Drunken to Love You’)”. His manager along with Joe Chen(Qiao En)’s are open to the idea if their schedules can accommodate and they are satisfied with the script. However, Su hasn't officially offered the roles yet because she is "afraid of being turned down!"

She's packed plenty of TV credits into her 31 years.

But to date she's never tackled a role this gritty.

The episode of police drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit featuring Jennifer Love Hewitt as a guest star aired in the US last night and the scenes were highly distressing.

The former Ghost Whisperer star played a battered and bruised woman, Vicki Sayers, who has been brutally raped by the same man over a period of fifteen years.

She is too scared to submit to a rape kit as the man has stalked and terrorised her since she was sixteen years old.

Android appeal grows amid Apple slump claim researchers

The latest set of smartphone metrics is out, and it’s likely to spawn another bout of Apple/Google arguments over whose platform is the most appealing and keeps users the happiest. ChangeWave questioned 4,000 smartphone owners and would-be owners, and found that in the three month period between their last survey in June 2010 and their new September 2010 figures, the percentage of people looking to buy an iOS device like the iPhone fell from 50-percent to 38-percent, while the number preferring to buy an Android device rose from 30-percent to 37-percent.

That 7-percent shift is, in fact, the latest jump in what’s apparently been a six-fold increase in Android consumer preference over the course of twelve months. iOS saw a spike in popularity after the iPhone 4 launch, but then fell again afterwards.

However, Android isn’t ticking every box quite yet, at least according to ChangeWave’s findings. In cellphone satisfaction, 74-percent of iPhone buyers said they were “very satisfied” with their current device, whereas only 65-percent of Android handset owners said the same. That still puts them both significantly ahead of Palm, RIM and Windows Mobile, however.

Jerry Yan reveals almost sordid past

Pop idol says that he "nearly became a gigolo"

If not for his mum, singer Jerry Yan would probably be a gigolo instead of the pop idol he is today.

"Because I'm good at peeling grape skins, I had the potential to be a gigolo," joked Jerry Yan at the recording of Chinese variety show, Fei Chang Jing Ju Li.

"I nearly went astray when I was young. If not for my mum who brought me back to the right path, there wouldn't be me today. "

Currently in China for promotions of his latest pictorial book, which reportedly took five years to produce, Jerry talked at lengths about his family.

As a child from a single-parent family, the pop star felt that he never knew how to love somebody, and also added that he shared a "sibling-like" relationship with his divorcee mum.

"In certain aspects, I'm more like an older brother (to my mum)," he quipped.

The star also revealed that he felt like he has failed in all his relationships.

"Even if I wanted to, I don't know how to express my love sometimes. I only know how to carry all burdens on my shoulder," he said.

To maintain Jerry's idol image, his surprising revelation will not be aired on television. However, raw clips of the recording have since gone viral.

Samsung Continuum gets pictured, dual display device headed to Verizon

The Fascinate's ride at the top of Sammy's Android lineup for Big Red might be a short one -- a very short one. Feast your eyes on this monster, said to be the rumored SCH-i400 Continuum, whose biggest claim to fame would be the addition of a secondary OLED display below the main. What might you use it for? Well, it's called the "Ticker," and it'll show notifications and RSS updates (and judging from that picture, weather conditions, too). Naturally, one of the selling points is that you can access basic phone functionality and information without having to fiddle with the normal UI or turn on that big, power-sapping primary display; in fact, the Ticker will automatically turn on when you grasp the bottom of the phone. The Continuum's also got a microSD slot on the side (accessible without a battery pull) and a dedicated camera button, and judging from one of the shots we've got, it might be Galaxy S-branded. Follow the break for a couple more shots!
