MacBook Air (13-inch) first hands-on! (Video)

We just spent some quality time with the new 13-inch MacBook Air, and it certainly seems like a worthy upgrade. It definitely feels significantly bigger than the 11-incher, and we noticed the function keys are standard MacBook size, as opposed to the shrunken ones on the 11. We also noticed that it was seriously instant-on -- we popped the lid open and closed several times while taking photos, and it was ready to go the second we opened it. We'll have more impressions and pics in a few, stay tuned!

'Glee' star Mark Salling debuts 'Illusions' music video: Ouch, my eyes

Glee‘s resident bad boy Noah “Puck” Puckerman is currently serving time in juvie after driving his mom’s car into a convenience store and running off with the ATM (is this how kids pass the time in Ohio?), but his absence is probably better explained by the fact that Mark Salling is about to release his solo album, Pipe Dreams. We’ve got a look at the magic eye-esque music video for his single “Illusions,” which tries to pass off the “illusion” that Salling is just another aspiring singer who moonlights as a valet. Silly music video, we know what his real job is! (See video embedded after the jump.)Puck has made many a female glee club member swoon with his acoustic guitar-assisted crooning on songs like “Sweet Caroline,” “Over the Rainbow,” and “Only The Good Die Young,” but Salling’s single doesn’t have the same kind of charm. The initial vocals reminded me of “The Remedy” by Jason Mraz, albeit with a much less catchy chorus, and the story is visually confusing; I thought I had stumbled upon a warped clip after the extended bouts of slow-moving, colorful images, which were really more snoozy than trippy. (They also made me feel like I need to get my eyes checked.) Let us know if you’re digging Salling’s solo music, or if you prefer his Glee covers.

I give it an “M” for “Meh.” I expected more from McKinley’s hunkiest athlete/singer/pool-cleaning entrepreneur, and not that we endorse gratuitous skin at EW, but a wife beater or two would have better held my interest for 3:33. Gleeks: Should Salling stick to his day job?

Source: Beyonce Is Pregnant!

Beyonce Knowles better brush up on her lullabies.

The 29-year-old singer is pregnant with her first child, the new Us Weekly reports.

Despite the happy news, no one was more surprised than the singer herself.

"B was shocked. She loves kids, but she wasn't ready to be a mother just yet," says a source of the singer, who married rapper Jay-Z in 2008. "She really wanted to get her album done and tour the world again."

Still, another insider says that the singer, who is in her first trimester, realizes that "this is a gift from God and she's so happy."

Friends of the couple are already expressing their well-wishes for the parents-to-be.

"Jay has been all about family since I met him, and he's always going to be," record executive Kevin Liles, who has known the rapper for years, tells Us. "I wish them the best."

Knowles' sister Solange -- and mom to Julez, 6 -- agrees.

"She's got the most beautiful heart," she tells Us of her big sis. "She'll be a great mom."

Mac OS X 10.7 Lion announced, coming summer 2011

Mac OS X 10.7 Lion is here. As we predicted, Apple's operating system is going in the same direction as the iPad. Here is a visual guide to the main features unveiled today.

This article will give you live analysis of the Mac OS X Lion features unveiled today.

Mac OS X Lion is another step in the road to a new—or better said, renewed or recovered—computer interface paradigm: Modal computing. And along the way, they are taking some of the most successful parts of iOS, like the App Store—with automatic installation of applications—and the springboard—rechristened launchpad in Lion. Apple is also introducing new user interface elements, like Mission Control.

Samsung Omnia 7 takes on HTC's HD7 and 7 Mozart in battle for WP7 supremacy

The alternative headline for this post was "a visual tour of the phones Americans aren't getting," but alas, the HD7 spoiled our macabre fun with its T-Mobile plans. All the same, there's no disguising our disappointment at having to settle for Samsung's Focus and LG's Quantum in the US, while the rest of the world gets to enjoy the delights of the far prettier Omnia 7 and Optimus 7 from each manufacturer. Even HTC, which is also bringing the 7 Surround Stateside, is sending its aluminum-clad 7 Mozart to other, presumably sunnier, climes. Sadly, we can't force these phones' makers to bring them to you, but we can certainly live up to that promised visual tour. Check out pics below plus video after the break.

James Cameron Talks Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 Progress

James Cameron is still "the king of the world." Last year, the director followed up his Oscar winning film Titanic, which earned over $1 billion worldwide, with the critically acclaimed and visually groundbreaking motion picture, Avatar, which went on to break all of its predecessor's records by earning over $2 billion worldwide. Late last summer Cameron re-released Avatar with nine minutes of never-before-seen footage, and he is about to release an Extended Collector's Edition of the movie on Blu-ray and DVD that will contain the original theatrical cut, the special edition re-release and a new collector's edition that includes six more minutes of new footage, making it sixteen minutes longer than the original version of the film. The director is also busy prepping for Avatar 2 and Avatar 3, which he has said that he plans to shoot back-to-back. But will the Avatar sequels be Cameron's next project?

Rumors began swirling last week that he may direct Cleopatra, starring Angelina Jolie first, before he journeys back to Pandora. In addition to that, actress Sigourney Weaver recently dropped the bombshell that her character, Dr. Grace Augustine, may not have actually died at the end of the first film, as fans were led to believe. And that the actress will in fact be returning for the sequels. Yesterday, we were invited to a special event that Mr. Cameron held to promote the upcoming release of the Avatar Extended Collector's Edition on Blu-ray and DVD, which will be available on November 16th. We took the opportunity to ask the director about the status of the sequels, where Cleopatra falls in his busy schedule, and if Grace is really dead or not?

Can Shu Qi really act?

Hong Kong's Hsu Chi has traveled a long way from her difficult days of the mid-90s. Her latest box office hit, a kungfu thriller, is further proof of her versatility. Chen Nan reports

Dubbed the "pretty vase" of showbiz, Hong Kong actress Hsu Chi (Shu Qi) says her latest role in the movie, Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen, a kungfu thriller directed by Andrew Lau Wai-keung, was anything but powder and puff.

She plays Kiki, a Japanese spy in Shanghai posing as a nightclub singer.

The 34-year-old actress appeared at a news conference in Beijing recently to celebrate the box-office earnings of the movie, which grossed more than 100 million yuan ($15 million) since it opened in the mainland on Sept 21, 2010.

She said portraying the character's inner struggle, between her obsessive craving for ordinary life and her mission - to destroy the man she loves - was most challenging.

Harry Potter Dons a Bra in New Trailer

Is Harry Potter a secret cross-dresser?

Not exactly, but Daniel Radcliffe does wear a pale, lacy bra in a new trailer for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.

In the clip, Radcliffe says in a high-pitched girl's voice, "Look away, I'm hideous." So is it really Potter himself in a brazier?

Nope. In the plot of the film, a bunch of Potter's pals take a potion to transform themselves into Potter lookalikes, so it's actually Fleur Delacour who is the bra-wearing Harry.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 hits theaters Nov. 19.

PTC Gets Its Panties in a Twist Over Glee's "Pornographic, Pedophilia" GQ Spread

If anything justifies a slushie in the face, surely it's this kind of nonsense.

Yesterday, GQ's requisite hit-it-big, do-a-sexy-photoshoot spread featuring Glee hotties Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Dianna Agron hit the Internet.

But while the snaps elicited the usual squees from teens and passing interest from adults, the ever-offended Parents Television Council had quite a different reaction: the conservative watchdog think it's tantamount to pedophilia.

The fact that the people involved are well past their years as minors—Michele and Agron are 24, Monteith's 28—seems to make no mind to the PTC.

"It is disturbing that GQ, which is explicitly written for adult men, is sexualizing the actresses who play high school-aged characters on Glee in this way," PTC President Tim Winter said. "It borders on pedophilia. Sadly, this is just the latest example of the overt sexualization of young girls in entertainment."
