American Idol: The end of the road for Garcia, Stevens

Double elimination show strangely bland with little surprise in who was cut

“Idol Gives Back” takes place next week, bumping the results show that usually takes place on Wednesdays. And this week offered a preview of that event with footage of Elliott Yamin and Kara DioGuardi in Africa showing where previous “Idol” charity dollars have gone and where new cash will hopefully be going.

As cynical as I am, it’s hard to argue that the event isn’t a nice way to get people to open their hearts and wallets to groups that can probably put the dollars to better use than the IRS, which is where many of us will be sending our money Thursday.

Ke$ha: Fighting a War, Posing with Paint

In the latest issue of Interview magazine, Ke$ha is described as the "chart-topping, glitter-caked new queen of drunk-girl dance music. [She] might very well be the perfect post-modern pop star: one who lives her life like it’s a reality show.”

But is that image contrived? Many critics think Ke$ha is full of $hit, just pretending to be eccentric in order to garner publicity.

The singer swears she really is a freak, though, and a quote in the Interview feature seems to back this up:

“None of it’s fabricated. Like, I have a belief that if I wear my placenta in a necklace, there’s a possibility of me gaining second sight, like being psychic. I would be wearing it whether or not I was in the public eye... I went yesterday to a past-life regressionist, and he told me that in my past life I was assassinated. I’m pretty sure that I was JFK in my past life.”

Well... okay then.

Angelina Jolie Bonds With Brad Pitt's Mom!

Angelina Jolie took a break from shooting The Tourist to bond with her Brad Pitt's mom Jane Pitt.

On Wednesday, the two were spotted with 20-month-old twins Knox and Viv Jolie-Pitt looking out on the family's apartment balcony in Venice. (Jolie, 34, held Viv; Jane held Knox.)

Grandma Jane and Grandpa William (Brad's dad) arrived earlier this week.

The balcony has been a favorite spot for Jolie -- who is not pregnant, despite a new tabloid report -- to pose with her twin babies.

Not every outing has been pleasant.

On Friday, while catching some fresh air, Knox dropped a stuffed toy bunny into the waters of the Grand Canal.

Despite the mishap, Jolie's father Jon Voight recently told the kids are "spectacular."

Apple Ships 500,000 iPads, Supply Gets Squeezed

Apple says it delivered more than a half-million iPads during the tablet PC's first week of general release, and so will be delaying the iPad's international launch. And after the first five days of the mobile device's release, Apple CEO Steve Jobs said about 600,000 iBooks and 3.5 million apps had been downloaded by iPad users. Analysts predict that the iPad could sell as many as 7.1 million units in 2010.

Apple said April 14 that it had delivered more than 500,000 iPads during the tablet PC's first week of general release, exceeding the company's internal predictions. The demand reflected by those sales, coupled with "a large number of preorders for iPad 3G models for delivery by the end of April," has led to a postponement in the iPad's international launch.

"We know that many international customers waiting to buy an iPad will be disappointed by this news," read a statement posted on Apple's Website, "but we hope they will be pleased to learn the reason—the iPad is a runaway success in the United States thus far."

Apple had previously announced, during an April 8 news conference at the company's Cupertino, Calif., headquarters, that about 450,000 iPads were sold in the first five days. During that conference, Apple CEO Steve Jobs also said about 600,000 iBooks and 3.5 million applications had been downloaded by new iPad owners. Those 450,000 iPads included the 300,000 units sold by midnight on April 3, the device's first day of general release.

MacBook Pro Core i7 review

While the MacBook Pro is just another Intel-based computer with standard internals, slightly inflated price tags, and a familiar (if legendary) design sense, Apple having the absolute corner on the market for building machines that legitimately run OS X can be a little rough on the upgrade obsessed. Waiting 10 months for a new computer, without an industry full of hungry competitors with wild alternatives to quench your thirst, can be difficult, and the January launch of Intel's new Core i5 and Core i7 chips for laptops further fueled the saliva. Still, Apple would like you to believe these new MacBook Pros with their 2010-ready internals and same-as-last-year good looks have been worth the wait. Find out for yourself in our full review after the break.

10 Things Google Must Do to Build an iPad Killer

Rumors abound that Google is planning on building a tablet that will compete with the Apple iPad. But in order for that mobile device to even come close to beating Apple's tablet, Google needs to follow some strategies to gain the upper hand.

Although Google has yet to confirm that it's working on a tablet computer that would compete with the iPad, it's becoming increasingly likely that the search giant will try to supplant Apple as the leader in that market. The move underscores Google's willingness to take on Apple anywhere it believes it can turn a profit.

Thanks to its reliance on advertising, Google is able to turn that profit in ways that, so far, Apple has not. That has helped it look beyond search and find other areas, specifically the mobile market, in which to expand.

Angela Zhang reveals inner diva at concert

Angela Zhang Shao Han will be starting off her "Angela Zhang Pandora Star Concert Tour" in May, and spent approximately 35 million TWD to create an out-of-this-world star dancing stage, similar to the movie "Avatar". Even her fans think that with her big eyes and slender body, she is like an Pandora princess. Angela laughs, "I've watched 'Avatar' three times, even I think that I look like them."

To focus on her individual concert, Angela has started working out about two months earlier, and has 7 nutritional meals a day. She also does yoga, shape boxing and runs to prepare for the dancing and singing routine. Angela will also challenge three eight degree range of singing styles, and hopes to surprise everyone.

Comic G-Dragon goes to jail from Allkpop

As a self proclaimed G-Dragon fanboy, the recent news that the concert issue is being brought back to court for another hearing came as a huge shock to me. Even though he was cleared of charges the first time around, there’s no guarantee that he will be cleared of it this time.

In the worst case scenario, G-Dragon might just end up serving some jail time after all. Although jail time is probably too severe of a punishment, you can’t help but admire the irony of that situation considering what jail is infamous for.

Elin Nordegren Meets With Divorce Attorney for 'Several Hours'

The will-she-won't-she divorce speculation for Tiger Woods' wife took a turn toward the divorce side as Elin Nordegren met extensively with a divorce attorney, according to RadarOnline

The website claims that shortly before leaving for a Scottsdale, Ariz., trip without her husband, Elin visited with a divorce lawyer in the home she is renting in Orlando, Fla. The meeting lasted for "several hours" according to Radar, which described her trip as a solo vacation.

While the couple has made some progress since Tiger's bombshell revelations of serial infidelity, the website maintains that this has ceased since Tiger announced his return to golf -- that Elin has grown cold and became convinced that Tiger is not serious about making up for his serial cheating.

She has exerted much more independence, taking several trips without him and she has refused to put her wedding ring back on. She was also a very noticeable no-show at Tiger's return to golfs in the Masters.
