Lindsay Lohan Arrives at Court - Dressed Appropriately

Lindsay Lohan arrived early to her probation violation at a Beverly Hills courthouse Monday morning.

Wearing all black with sunglasses, she sat smiling next to her civil attorney Ed McPherson.

Her estranged father Michael also arrived at court with his attorney.

Actor Danny DeVito also showed up, though it remains unclear why.

Lohan, 24, faces immediate jail time if a judge determines that she hasn't fully complied with her probation terms from her three-year drug and alcohol case.

"I'll be there to support Lindsay," Michael previously said. "And if the judge wants to give her jail time, I'll say that's not what she needs. Recidivism is so high when someone with a drug problem goes to jail."

Andrew Garfield “Spider-Man” Salary $500K

Andrew Garfield — the British actor recently cast as a teen Peter Parker in the Spider-Man reboot — will reportedly earn just $500,000 to replace Tobey Maguire in the Sony/Marvel Comics blockbuster franchise.


Garfield is said to have snagged the part after studio executives for Sony were impressed by his performance in David Fincher’s upcoming Facebook drama The Social Network. He also appeared alongside Verne Troyer and Heath Ledger in the late Oscar winner’s (Ledger) final film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

But impressive screen performances weren’t enough to snag Garfield a multimillion deal to become the next Spider-Man.

We hear Garfield — a virtual unknown theater actor — has been contracted for three sequels in the role of the awkward superhero, with his salary expected to rise to $1 million for the second movie and $2 million for the third.

The same contract terms were presented to the other finalists for the lead role, Jamie Bell, Alden Ehrenreich, Anton Yelchin, Aaron Johnson, Logan Lerman, Frank Dillane and Michael Angarano.

Samsung i8700 Cetus, Nokia E7, HTC Gold, Vision and Ace headed to the UK?

Salt-cellars at the ready, but online phone comparison site Omio reckons they’ve got the scoop on some key UK handsets set to debut in the second half of 2010. Billed as freshly leaked from an unspecified UK retailer, the roadmap contains such gems as the HTC Vision and hitherto-unheard-of HTC Ace arriving alongside the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 in October, while November will see HTC’s first Windows Phone 7 device together with the QWERTY-blessed Nokia E7 and Samsung i8700 Cetus.


The Nokia E7 sounds a whole lot like the QWERTY-equipped Symbian^3 smartphone we’ve been seeing well-leaked in recent weeks, and that has been labeled the N9 or the N8-001/N8-002 by some. Slotting into the Finnish company’s Eseries line-up would make far more sense, given Nokia’s move away from Symbian^3 in their Nseries devices; Omio say it has an alumium body, like the N8, together with a tilting AMOLED touchscreen.

iPhone 4 jailbreak and unlock coming soon

An all-devices jailbreak that will liberate the iPhone 4 from its Apple lock and permit the installation of unofficial third-party software – among other things – has been promised as imminent by one of the iPhone Dev Team, who has confirmed that the group’s next release will address the fourth-generation smartphone. MuscleNerd revealed that the next jailbreak app will work in a similar way to Spirit, addressing all devices, all bootroms and the latest official Apple firmware, with a “painless install”.

The exact timescale of the next jailbreak hasn’t been confirmed, but it seems to be going hand-in-hand with an unlock solution for the iPhone 4. While Apple are selling unlocked versions of the smartphone in Europe, in the US the iPhone is locked to AT&T’s network. So far the team have managed to inject cmd but they now need to keep that task running in the background persistently.

KangTa, “I am going to be with SM Entertainment for over 10 years to come”

Singer KangTa reveals that he will continue to be under SM Entertainment’s management for more than 10 years to come.


KangTa was present for the press conference to commemorate 1st year establishment of entertainer’s standard contracts on 6th June in Seoul YeoIlDo. He said at the conference, “It has been 15 years since I debuted as H.O.T.”

He said, “During these 15 years, I have not left my agency for once, and I re-contracted with them 4 times. In the coming 10 years, I’m going to stick with them. It is a rare case to continue under one agency for 15 years, and I was asked ‘Why do you continue with them?’. The reason is that I feel it is worthy to stay managed under this agency.”

Justin Gaston is featured in the latest naked PETA ad, posing in his birthday suit alongside some girl named Giglianne Braga and some dude named Ben Elliott.


The trio star on If I Can Dream, an online reality show that chronicles their attempts to make it big in the music world. Of course, if that doesn't work out, there's clearly a career in soft porn ahead for these three.

It's unclear what message PETA is trying to send with these posters, but they practically make the Danielle Staub sex tape look PG by comparison.

Thanks to Android, HTC sales go through the roof

HTC, a company that most people had never even heard of just a couple years ago, has posted second quarter profits of 58% higher than the previous year.

Within the span of just a couple years, HTC has gone from an obscure Taiwanese phone maker no one had ever heard of, to one of the biggest names in the mobile industry. It was the manufacturer behind the very first Android phone, the G1. Since then it has created some of the biggest-selling Android devices on the market, including the Droid Incredible and the Evo 4G.

In its Q2 earnings report, HTC posted revenue of around $1.9 billion, a 58% increase over its 2009 figure. Net income saw an also-impressive 33% year-to-year jump, at around $268 million.

HTC does still have Windows Phone devices in the pipeline, but at this point its focus is extremely weighted toward Android. In total, HTC has 12 Android phones.

Apple responds on iTunes fraud, vaguely confirms said fraud

Over the weekend we saw reports of what appeared to be fraud occurring in the iTunes system -- namely, a rogue developer had somehow managed to snag 42 of the top 50 sales positions in the App Store's "book" category with seemingly bogus content. It looked as if there was some correlation between those suspicious sales and word of an increase in iTunes account fraud, but Apple had been mum on the subject over the holiday weekend. We've finally gotten a response from the company, and the folks in Cupertino say that the developer in question -- a gentleman named Thuat Nguyen -- has been chucked out of the Store altogether. Additionally, while they don't explicitly say fraud occurred, they suggest you check with your bank and kill your card if any of your info was stolen... which seems to suggest that something funky happened to some users. Here it is from the horse's mouth:

The developer Thuat Nguyen and his apps were removed from the App Store for violating the developer Program License Agreement, including fraudulent purchase patterns.

Developers do not receive any iTunes confidential customer data when an app is downloaded.

If your credit card or iTunes password is stolen and used on iTunes we recommend that you contact your financial institution and inquire about canceling the card and issuing a chargeback for any unauthorized transactions. Eddie Peng proves that he can hold a tune in his debut album

HIS manager for the last eight years had told the Taiwanese media that no one would dare produce his album.

Apparently, record label BMG had signed him five years ago, but put him in cold storage, reportedly because his voice didn't match his good looks.

But Taiwanese heart-throb Eddie Peng has silenced his critics.

In town over the weekend to promote his debut album Can't Not Love, the actor-singer sang live during his autograph session at City Square Mall on Saturday.

Passers-by like 31-year-old business owners Jerome Lee and Carrie Lim, who weren't Peng's fans, said he sang in tune and had 'a nice, melodious voice'.

So, were those Taiwanese reports correct?

Peng, 28, told The New Paper: 'I've had some disagreements with that manager who is now my ex-manager. He didn't let me do things that I wanted to do, for example, sing. So I've only been acting in movies and TV dramas.

'As for the record label, that was my decision at that time. I felt I wasn't ready to release an album. I'm not scared of what people would say. Criticism pushes me to improve myself.'
