Lindsay Lohan's New Lawyer: "She Is Suffering From a Disease"

Lindsay Lohan's new lawyer officially stepped forward today—and made sure everyone knew he wasn't taking the job to enable anymore ridiculous excuses.

"I have agreed to represent Ms. Lohan on the condition that she complies with all of the terms of her probation, including a requirement of jail time that was imposed by Judge Marsha Revel," Robert Shapiro said in a statement to E! News.

"Ms. Lohan is suffering from a disease that I am all too familiar with. Hopefully, I can be of assistance to Ms. Lohan and Judge Revel in implementing a treatment approach recommended by medical professionals for Ms. Lohan's long term recovery and sobriety."

Shapiro filed the paperwork to replace former Lohan lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley today in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The O.J. Dream Teamer lost son Brent to an overdose and has dedicated himself to helping substance abusers. Earlier this week, Lohan checked into the Shapiro-run sober house, Pickford Lofts.

We couldn’t imagine RIM, HTC and Samsung would be too keen on being held up as similar antenna sufferers during yesterday’s iPhone 4 press conference, and sure enough the first official comment has arrived. RIM’s co-CEOs Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie mince no words, either, accusing Apple of “deliberate attempts to distort the public’s understanding of an antenna design issue” and saying that their “attempt to draw RIM into Apple’s self-made debacle is unacceptable.” Full, scathing statement after the cut.

Yoyo Mung and Ekin Cheng sweetly flinging hands on the street

Dated for 4 years, Toyo Mung and Ekin Cheng were surrounded by breakup rumors, but actually their relationship is getting better and better. In the past, Ekin has never thought about marriage, but last year he spent 28 million on a luxury home on South Bay Road. Recently, he's been planning to start a family!

Yoyo has been in Mainland for a while due to filming, since Yoyo is back in Hong Kong, Ekin took the opportunity to spend some time with her. The night before, the couple were in Central on Hollywood Road having dinner at an Italian restaurant were also two other friends with them. At 11pm, ten fingers interlocked, Yoyo held onto Ekin's hand flinging it back and forth with a huge smile on her face. As for Ekin, he was just getting dragged forward by Yoyo and had his head down.

Lindsay Lohan Hires New Attorney to Fight Prison Sentence

Lindsay Lohan has officially hired lawyer Robert Shapiro to fight the July 6 sentencing that will put her behind bars for 90 days.

"I have agreed to represent Ms. Lohan on the condition that she complies with all of the terms of her probation, including a requirement of jail time that was imposed by Judge Marsha Revel," Shapiro tells UsMagazine.com in a statement.

Lohan, 24, entered Shapiro's sober living home, Pickford Lofts, Thursday -- five days before she is required to turn herself over to the authorities.

Mom Dina Lohan and ex Samantha Ronson were photographed visiting the troubled star in the luxe Hollywood facility, where residents live in lofts with designer kitchens, Internet access and flat-screen TVs.

"Ms. Lohan is suffering from a disease that I am all too familiar with," Shapiro -- who started the center after his son, Brent, died of a drug overdose in 2005 -- tells Us. "Hopefully, I can be of assistance to Ms. Lohan and Judge Revel in implementing a treatment approach recommended by medical professionals for Ms. Lohan’s long term recovery and sobriety."

The Apple press conference round up…

The much anticipated Apple press conference has just concluded. Here is — in bullet form — what we just learned:
  • The iPhone 4 death grip signal degradation thingy happens to a lot of smartphones. Apple demonstrated it on a BlackBerry 9700, Samsung Omnia 2, and HTC DROID Eris.
  • The software update (4.0.1) released yesterday will take care of the error in the signal calculation algorithm that Apple discovered several weeks ago.
  • Another software update to address other issues (like the proximity sensor thing) is due “soon.”
  • Until September 30th, Apple will be giving iPhone 4 purchasers/owners a free bumper or case (depending on supply). A website with details will go live next week.
  • Users who already purchased a bumper will be eligible for a refund. You had to have purchased an Apple bumper, not a third-party case.
  • The return rate on the iPhone 3GS at AT&T stores was 6%, the return rate of the iPhone 4 is 1.7%.
  • The white iPhone 4 will be out sometime later the month.
  • Apple has sold over 3 million iPhone 4s thus far.
  • 0.55% of iPhone 4 owners have called in to AppleCare to complain.
  • Steve Jobs does not use a bumper on his iPhone 4.

Charlene Choi Returns to Work After Fainting

Charlene Choi (Ah Sa) fainted at home yesterday. After she visited the hospital, she returned home to rest already and resumed working today.

It's rumored earlier that Angelababy replaced Ah Sa to endorse for Adidas. In fact today Ah Sa is shooting photos for Adidas' advertisement, breaking the rumor immediately. Although Ah Sa just fainted yesterday, but based on the photo she uploaded on Weibo, where she keeps jumping, it seems she is fine.

Ah Sa wrote: "My Weibo this several days isn't healthy. Today I shoot advertisement for my favorite '3 stripes,' finally looking healthier!"

Several years ago, Roger Kwok Chung On gained immense popularity by portraying mentally challenged characters inSquare Pegs "戆夫成龙" and Life Made Simple "阿旺新傳". Next month, Charmaine Sheh Si Man will also have the opportunity to play a mentally challenged character in the upcoming series, The Colorful World of Sister Fa "花花世界花家姐", which will also star Raymond Lam Fung. Allegedly, Charmaine’s role will be very high profile and may even help her win the Best Actress Award again.

After filming Justice, My Foot "審死官" with Roger Kwok, Charmaine will shoot for twenty-episode series, The Colorful World of Sister Fa. As a delivery girl working at a restaurant, Charmaine’s character will have the mental capability of a ten-year-old girl. In the inspiring series, despite Charmaine’s mental disability, she faces life’s obstacles with perseverance. Her younger sister, Toby Leung Ching Kei, will be bullied by her supervisor at work, Raymond Lam. To protect Toby, Charmaine will work at the same company. As a spoilt rich heir, Raymond throws away the family fortune and in his impoverished state, falls in love with Charmaine.

Producer Kwan Wing Chung said, “Mentally challenged characters offer a great opportunity for actors. Charmaine is still filming in China now. Before leaving China , she will visit a school with mentally disabled children to gather research for the role.”
