They may be celebrities, but Russell Brand and Katy Perry marked their engagement the traditional way - with a family party.
Around 50 family members and close friends ate cake, drank cocktails and toasted the happy couple at the quiet celebration.
Russell's mother Mary Hudson flew out to Los Angeles for the bash, held at Il Cielo in Beverly Hills.
The room was decorated with candles and red roses, with a white chocolate cake with the message 'Katy [heart] Russell'.
The couple are busy setting up home together in Los Angeles and last week 34-year-old Brand was pictured loading up a trolley with domestic appliances.
Russell has already bought a house in Los Angeles, which he picked up for £2.2million in December, and put his north London home on the market.
