US People magazine's selection of its 100 Most Beautiful People is usually announced on the third week of April and its result receives great attention and reactions from all around the world.For this, ORICON STYLE announces its own choice of 'Japan's Most Beautiful Celebrity' ranking under the theme "Who is Japan's Most Beautiful Celebrity?".Under the men's category, the first place goes to the singer who creates the sensation of the moment, nicknamed 'Fukuyama Ryoma' for his role in the 2010 NHK's Taiga Drama 'Ryoma-den'(The Legend of Ryoma), singer-actor Fukuyama Masaharu.While in the women's category, she is known for her low-key yet full of transparency beauty, be it in a cosmetic or a whiskey TV commercial which her sense of presence and charm captured her legion of male fans, she is none other than actress Koyuki.Her beauty is described as embodying the modesty of standard Japanese beauty and even receives praises as the 'Japanese Beauty'.
Fukuyama's double score difference between him and the second spot winner comes to no shock as he already clinched the top spot of "Most Wanted Celebrity as a Boyfriend" ranking for four consecutive years now.Not only that he held 'captive' of his female fans in Japan but also fascinates a number of male fans as well.This is revealed in last year's ORICON STYLE tongue-in-cheek "Most Adored Male Singer by Men Fans" where Fukuyama took the number one spot.One female fan said, "From medieval clothing like those he wore in 'Ryoma' to modern fashion, everything fits him so well, I can feel his seductive appeal", as his maturity as a man, as a singer reaches a heightened level more and more.Fukuyama is not giving up to the hordes of young 'ikemen' actors and this is clear as his wind of popularity as the lead actor in NHK's Taiga Drama "Ryoma" gets further stronger.
Retaining the second spot since last year is also in the same league with Fukuyama, known as the "40-something year old" singer league, singer GACKT.Even though he revealed his real age to the public while acting in a play last year, fans don't seem to be bothered by this."I'm fascinated by his looks but I completely let myself lost while listening to his songs too.One word:Beauty, I can't find another word...", a fan remarked.At 40-something, he still turn the heads of younger female more than once, even getting passionate 'love call'.

On the other hand, Koyuki actually ranked up from fourth spot last year to the first spot this year.Last year she was first placed in the ORICON STYLE 'Beauties With Beautiful Skin' ranking, with jet-black hair and snow-white skin as her trademark.A male fan said, "Fair in complexion and pure, she equates as the 'Japanese Beauty', image-wise", echoing the same agreeing voice from men and women, teenagers to middle-aged alike on her personification of the old-style Japanese beauty symbol hence her unanimously accepted number one position.
The second spot in the women category goes to an actress of more than 50 years of career, Yoshinaga Sayuri who has been on the ranking for two years now.Her beauty that defies her age and her over-flowing elegance are the main reasons she is chosen."Her gesture and the way she talks is beautiful and she has this strong signal of intention as being important", as an admiring fan voices out her thoughts.And ranking in on the third spot is Keiko Kitagawa known as an actress getting admiration from women and she is securing her position in the industry as well.Originally a fashion model but recently showed her tough side as she clads in a Kendo uniform in the movie 'Hana no ato' where she is described as having an image of dignified beauty.
The prime reason supporting the title 'Beautiful Person' is that, it goes without saying that outer appearance comes first but at the same time when that person goes out in public doing his/her work for livelihood and as strictness and demands of professionalism are piled up to him/herself and if that person for sure shows radiance from his/her face, time and again this bears fruit for him/her (getting the title).
