She is in Edinburgh for the International Film Festival.
But America Ferrera appears to be more interested in showing off her brand new diamond engagement ring than watching any movies.
The Ugly Betty star, who recently got engaged to boyfriend Ryan Piers Williams, looked chic in a black dress as she left her hotel in the Scottish city yesterday for the festival's closing ceremony.
And regardless of her black clutch bag and peeptoe heels, the best accessory in America's outfit was the huge sparkler on her ring finger.
America has been in Scotland promoting her new film, The Dry Island, which her new fiancé both wrote and directed.
It follows an American soldier returning home from war who struggles to reconcile his experiences with the life and family he left in Texas.
She is also there to promote another of her new films, comedy Our Family Wedding.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, America told reporters: 'It's great to be here. It's a beautiful city. It's my first time in Scotland.'
America and Ryan met at at the University of Southern California when America agreed to star in one Ryan's student film.
The aspiring director currently works for Hollywood producer Steven Soderbergh and the happy couple live in Los Angeles with their golden retriever called Buddy.
