'Scott Pilgrim vs. the World' gets awesome new poster. (Yes, you should keep staring!)

Okay, so I haven’t yet seen Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, nor was I planning to between now and Sunday (because, honestly, I kind of loathe seeing movies on opening weekends, thanks to cell-phone talkers, savory-stew eaters, and youths). But I just got sent a link to this extremely cool limited-edition poster for the movie, which was created in conjunction with a special Scott Pilgrim screening last night at the Alamo Drafthouse theater in Austin, TX. The cinema-eatery (named the best theater in America by EW in 2005, incidentally) screened the movie as part of its Fantastic Fest, and commissioned artist Martin Ansin to whip up the image. And now I can’t stop staring at it: Ooh! The wake of the fighters’ swords magically form the titular hero’s initials! Whoa! Look at the way that central heart expands outward in the trippiest way possible. Okay, it’s entirely likely that a verrry long work week has made me loopy, but this image is kind of great, no? Don’t you wish more movie posters were this avant-garde and/or comic-book inspired? You can find this one for sale at mondotees.com. And that raises the question: Which movie posters do you have on your home/office walls? I’ve got a Felicity TV poster in my office, and Moulin Rouge in the bedroom closet, waiting for a bigger apartment. And why I don’t have Contact is troubling indeed! Your turn.
