Transformers 3: Shia LaBeouf and Josh Duhamel shoot dramatic explosion as filming for follow-up continues

The Transformers film franchise isn't known for being short on action scenes, and it seems the third instalment is going to be more thrilling than ever.
Judging by pictures of stars Shia LaBeouf and Josh Duhamel filming scenes in Chicago this week, Transformers 3 is going to be full of explosions, fight scenes and near-death experiences.
Duhamel, who plays Major William Lennox, a member of the United States Army Rangers, is seen protecting LaBeouf's cilivan character Sam Witwicky as a huge explosion blows member of his team into the air and nearly claims Sam's life.
While there have been few details revealed about the storyline of the upcoming film, director Michael Bay has said that this is likely to be the last movie in the franchise.
He said: 'As a trilogy, it really ends. It could be rebooted again, but I think it has a really killer ending.
'The movie is more of a mystery. It ties in what we know as history growing up as kids with what really happened.'
Actor Peter Cullen, who voices heroic robot Optimus Prime, said he is thrilled to be part of the film, adding: 'I can’t tell you too much about the plot but I’ve had some very exciting moments so far.
'I’ve had the opportunity to work with the great Michael Bay and I say that with all sincerity because he is a general and he is a marvellous man to work for.'
Transformers 3 also sees stars Frances McDormand and John Malkovich join the cast.
Talking about Malkovich's role in the film, producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura said: 'Malkovich is going to have a lot of interaction with Shia in that movie.
'And he's got a really fun character. And he's going to bring a really interesting spin to that franchise, so it's going to be great.'
Malkovich added: 'I'd seen the first Transformers, which I liked and thought it was fun, and then Lorenzo and producer Mark Vahradian approached me about it. I like working with them very much.'
Greys Anatomy Patrick Dempsey is also set to join the Transformers 3, and admitted he was excited about having the opportunity to take part in such an action-packed movie.
Speaking recently, he said: 'In Transformers 3 my character is a race-car driver , which is perfect. It's cool to have all those toys in the movie.'
