She started the day covered up in jeans and a cardigan.
But less than an hour into her shopping spree and Britney Spears threw caution to the wind, emerging from a Los Angeles boutique clad in a risque negligee.
The singer reverted to her customary braless style as she slipped into the lace-trimmed nightie, teamed with a pair of blue leather boots.
Not even the unseasonably chilly California could stop the 28-year-old mother of two donning the skimpy attire.
Britney was pictured today, accompanied by her bodyguards, shopping up a storm Santa Monica's upmarket Montana Avenue.
She spent around 45 minutes in the Only Hearts boutique, where she arrived in her denims, trainers and cardigan.
But it was a far raunchier Britney who emerged, with her minders seen carrying her bags.
Britney is currently working on new material for her new studio album.
She was also seen last week making her debut on the hit musical comedy show Glee, with the episode drawing in a staggering 13.3m viewers - the highest of the series.
In fact Britney was so taken by Glee's Heather Morris' performance of her hit songs that she sent the actress a bouquet of flowers.
'She sent me flowers saying ''Good job! Love, Britney,''' Heather told E! Online. 'So I'm gonna make her something and send it to her.'
