Wesley Snipes to Start Serving Jail Time For Tax Charges

Wesley Snipes may be above the law as a vampire-hunter in the 'Blade' series, but in real life, the actor is in some big time trouble, Forbes reports.

Prosecutors in Snipes' case alleged that the actor had not paid any taxes on the reported $38 million he earned since 1999, in addition to several misdemeanor offenses. Although the star was acquitted of more serious felony charges , a Florida judge has ordered Snipes to begin serving his three-year sentence for his 2008 felony tax conviction.

"The Defendant Snipes had a fair trial ... The time has come for the judgment to be enforced," wrote U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges.

Snipes, who has been free on bail since the 2008 conviction, has attempted to have his case overturned to no avail.

He will begin his prison sentence at a time to be determined by the Bureau of Prisons or U.S. Marshall's service, although the location of his incarceration has not yet been announced.

Snipes has until December 28th to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
