That was one mighty Date Night.
The Steve Carell-Tina Fey comedy rose up against Clash of the Titans to open No. 1 at the weekend box office, per estimates, with $27.1 million.
As things stand now, Titans is an extremely close second, with $26.9 million. But even if Monday's final numbers show the 3D epic on top, it's unlikely they'll show the film doing anything but dropping like a rock in just its second weekend.
Elsewhere, Miley Cyrus is looking more and more money, while Kristen Stewart's The Runaways is looking more and more like it'll have to wait 'til Netflix to find an audience. More results:

• The $55 million Date Night is the biggest opener of Fey's still-young film career; for Carell, it's a career-best for a film to not feature a big boat (Evan Almighty) or a boat-load of action sequences (Get Smart).
• The $125 million Clash of the Titans has made good on its budget—thanks to the rest of the world. Domestically, it's at $110.5 million overall.
• Ticket sales for Titans were off a steep 56 percent from last weekend. Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married, Too? took a 62 percent dive, down to $11 million ($48.5 million overall). By comparison, the three-week-old How to Train Your Dragon ($25.4 million; $133.9 million overall) is a keeper, down only 13 percent.
• Cyrus' The Last Song ($10 million) held well, too. After two weekends, the $20 million romantic drama has doubled its budget domestically, hitting $42.4 million overall. And all without Hannah Montana lifting a finger.
• In its fourth weekend, Stewart's The Runaways doubled its theater count, but still only grossed a weak $470,029. To date, the $10 million-ish rock biopic has yet to break $2 million domestically. (Now where did we read this thing was going to outdo Robert Pattinson's Remember Me?)
