Gillian Chung and Alex Fong had a past, in 2004, where the sex scandal had surfaced and in 2005, the media reported of their Switzerland trip together. Also, the breakup between Edison and her had left their friendship broken. The day before, Gillian was asked if felt 'sour' when she knew about the alleged couple's marriage rumour, said that she too has plans to get married and took the initiative to ask the reporters for a good recommendation and declared she would get married immediately if they had one and not lose to the 'old love'.
Asking on behalf of the media
When asked if she knew of the couple's plans to get hitched, she answered quickly, "Of course not! I'm not a particularly nosey person, I don't even read the company's magazines. But even if I don't read, this question is unavoidable in an interview. There are many things you don't have to know, and this news doesn't concern me; I'll ask on the behalf of the media when I see him in 2 days!"
Questioned if she would give her blessings

She replied with with disgust that she did not like dating someone she had no feelings for. Can she accept a speed marriage? "Have tried on moments of impulse but it doesn't work out." But what if there was such a moment to which she retorted, "What if!"
The day before, while Gillian was shooting a new series of ads for an appliance store, she admitted that she was extremely pleased with the contract payment. Although she was not sure if this was the best paying ad, she believed that the company had gotten the best price. She did not comment on what the amount was, stating that if if the amount was too little, no one would believe; yet if it was too high, people would get startled. She said that she did not know the amount all these while as the amount went straight to the joint account she had with her mother, but it was a rough 5-figured sum monthly.
