Amazon sells the Samsung Epic 4G for only $199.99

The Samsung Epic 4G is Sprint’s version of the Galaxy S and the penultimate smartphone in the line to launch (the last will clearly be Verizon’s Fascinate).

Sprint have officially announced it a couple of months ago, and pre-orders have started a couple of weeks ago (and have since been stopped) on Sprint’s site.

The most important detail of all, aside from release date (which we know is August 31st) was price, and Sprint disappointingly set that at $249.99, $50 more than any other comparable high end smartphone in the US.

But don’t worry about that anymore. Don’t even worry about not being able to pre-order it from Sprint anymore. Amazon to your rescue.

You can pre-order the Epic 4G from Amazon now, they’ll ship it to you on August 31st (although some small delays may occur, as always with big launches), and, best of all, it will only set you back $199.99 – which is the price for which all of its competitors go. Of course, a 2-year service agreement is still involved, but hey, you can save a cool $50 on Sprint’s second “4G” phone.

If you’re patient enough, the price may drop even more a couple of months after the official release, but if you have to have the Samsung Epic 4G as soon as possible, Amazon seems to be the place to get it from.
