Rumor: HTC HD3, new HTC Desire (HD?), HTC Android tablet to be announced on September 15

HTC has scheduled an event for September 15 in London, where it might unveil no less than three new devices.

According to Smartphone House, the Taiwanese company will announce “a new HD3 Windows Phone 7” – which should, of course, come as the successor of the HTC HD2.

Last week, we’ve heard that the successor of the HD2 might not be called HTC HD3, but HTC HD7, so for the moment we can’t be sure of its official name.

Some rumored features of the HD3 / HD7 include: 4.5 inch AMOLED touchscreen with 1280 x 800 pixels, Wi-Fi, HDMI port, 8MP camera with dual LED flash and HD video recording, 1GB RAM, dual core ARM-based processor, and 1800 mAh battery.

SmartphoneHouse has it that the new HTC Windows Phone 7 handset will be launched in Australia via Telstra on a 3-month exclusivity deal.

The same source says that the London even could also be the place where HTC will announce its first Android tablet, as well as a new HTC Desire with Android 2.2 Froyo (this could be the Desire HD or the Desire Z).

How much of this is true? We’ll find out next Wednesday.
