He made headlines over a light-hearted flirtation with 13-years-older Kim Kardashian, said Cheryl Cole was his ideal woman, and landed kisses from Rihanna and Katy Perry.
But it appears Justin Bieber has finally found a girl from his own age range to cosy up to.
And for once pint-sized Bieber, who at 16 is 5ft 5, wasn't left in the shade by his companion, whose height was a good match for his own.
The pair were filmed his new music video U Smile is Los Angeles yesterday.
Bieber has no concerns about his height, joking earlier this year: 'I put in a lot of time on the road going to radio stations at 6 am and singing, all in the middle of my growth spurt.
'Thanks to the music industry, I’m going to be really short.'
Dressed in a black hooded jumper and jeans, the Baby singer filmed scenes that show him waiting for the girl outside a locked-up downtown shop.
His date, dressed in a cute outfit denim shorts, army-coloured shirt and ballet flats finally arrives, and Justin greets her with a big hug before taking her hand.
It appears the pair then break into the shop by pulling up the security gate and crawl underneath.
Justin let his 5,223,935 Twitter followers in on what they can epexct from the eagerly anticipated single, saying 'Been working on a new video for U SMILE today.
'Different versions. Hope u guys will like it. Some water fights goin on. Good times.'
The Candian singer's millions of screaming teen fans will be thrilled to see his taste in women has come a little closer to their age again, after several flirtations with women much older than him.
His 'relationship' with 29-year-old Kardashian horrified his young fans, who sent the reality star death threats after he joked on Twitter that she was 'his girlfriend' and she returned the compliment, announcing she had 'Bieber fever.'
Their ensuing romantic photoshoot made headlines, and provoked an attack by Fox News host Bill O'Reilly, who slammed it as 'inappropriate' and 'gross.'
Last month he named a 'Cheryl Cole and Katy Perry cross' as his ideal woman.
'Cheryl Cole and Katy Perry are two of the hottest girls in the world - and so normal and funny with it,' he has said.
The teen heartthrob does seem to be aware that divorced Cole and engaged Perry are a little out of his league though:
'If I was a few years older they are the kind of girls I'd like to date. I want a younger version of Cheryl and Katy - a mixture of the two would be hot,' the Sun newspaper quotes the youngster.
'Maybe they could coach me and tell me how to work out which ones are the good ones. That would be pretty awesome.'
He grabbed his chance to cosy up to one of his dream girl at the MTV Video Music Awards this week.
He spotted Katy chatting to her good friend Rihanna at the ceremony, and quickly swooped in. Justin looked like the cat who got the cream as both of the stars planted kisses on his cheeks.
While the identity of his onscreen love interest is currently unknown, she may well want to keep it that way to avoid a similar fate to Kim Kardashian, who had to plead with the teen star to call of his threatening fans.
For now, Justin is happily single, but says: 'that doesn't mean I'm not seriously looking. 'It's rare to find a girl who is both hot and really cool, but I know they do exist.'
