Google Android tablet, Nokia e-reader in the making?

Now that Apple has proven a tablet computer can be successful (the Cupertino giant sold more than 450,000 iPads since launch), other big companies are considering making their own tablets.
Last week, we told you about a possible Nokia tablet with Windows 7, and now new rumors are showing up, suggesting that Google is also readying a tablet, obviously running on its own Android OS.
According to the New York Times, Google CEO Eric Schmidt has recently mentioned the Android tablet to “friends”. Reportedly, Google is already working with publishers for books, magazines and other type of content that could be delivered on a tablet.
Unfortunately, details about the release date and price of Google’s Android tablet have not been unveiled.
NYT also reports that, after the successful launch of its first netbook (the Booklet 3G), Nokia is currently developing an e-reader “with the hope of making the company dominant in the digital books and apps marketplace”
Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, Nokia’s CEO, says that the company will continue to work on new types of devices. These devices have high chances to be successful, especially since Nokia has “more reach through its broad international sales channels to distribute content and more experience dealing with local content in countries like India and China” than Apple, Google and other companies.
