Motorola’s square Android 2.1 phone now known as Flipout

Previously known as Motorola Twist, the unannounced square slider from Motorola that we’ve seen two times until now might be officially launched as Motorola Flipout.

The Moto Flipout has just been spotted in Brazil, and it looks like it will come in at least three color versions: black, green and pink.

The phone runs Android 2.1, uses the MotoBlur UI (like the Devour or the Dext) and will “focus on social networks”. Other rumored features include: 2.8 inch QVGA display, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, 512MB ROM, 256MB RAM, 700MHz processor, and a 3.1MP Kodak camera.

According to Gizmodo Brazil, Motorola Flipout should be available starting mid-June for 699 BRL (about $395). It remains to be seen whether or not the handset will be offered by any of the US carriers.
