New 'New Moon' TV Spot Shows Victoria, Edward, Jacob Face-Offs

Ad features scenes of Rachelle Lefevre in action, Taylor Lautner backflipping into wolf form.

We're not even into November yet and the extended looks at "New Moon" continue to flood in on an almost daily basis. This week alone Summit Entertainment dropped 11 brand-new pics of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and others, plus a fresh clip that showed Stewart's Bella Swan going face-to-face with a shape-shifting werewolf. Continuing this streak of "New Moon" sneak peeks is a brand-new 30-second TV spot, which premiered during "Access Hollywood" on Wednesday, that showcases a number of vampire versus werewolf face-offs.

The ad gives us our first good look at Rachelle Lefevre's vampire Victoria in action. Flame-haired and steely-eyed, we see her standing in the woods as she stares down an approaching werewolf. She then pulls a super-fast 180 and takes off in the other direction as the hairy beast floods the frame. The shot then cuts to Victoria sprinting through the forest while the wolf charges behind her. Finally she leaps athletically into the air to escape her predator.

We also see Lautner's Jacob Black and Pattinson's Edward Cullen facing off against each other as Bella does her best to stop them. Edward thrusts his adversary back and Jacob flies through air, only to pull a backflip and transform into a wolf.

"Please!" Bella pleads. "Jake, don't!"

The third vampire-vs.-werewolf confrontation features Edi Gathegi's red-pupiled Laurent fleeing from a pack of wolves. The shot then cuts to a badass slow-motion look at a huge wolf tackling him in the woods.

But the action-packed spot is not just about supernatural battles. There's perhaps the coolest "New Moon" shot we've yet seen: a close-up of Bella's reflection in a wolf's eye. And there's also a quick scene of shirtless Jacob pulling Bella in for a hug.

"I know what he did to you," Jacob says in voiceover, seeming to refer to Edward.

"You've killed people, Jake," Bella says at another point as they stand by the water.

"We only kill what we're trying to protect you from," he replies. "Vampires."

Ashlee SimpsonAshlee Simpson-Wentz & Colin Egglesfield Moving Out of Melrose Place

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz just released a statement to E! about her departure from Melrose Place, saying, "Having the chance to play Violet on Melrose Place has been a thrill. Although I always knew her story would come to a final, insanely unpredictable end, playing a creepy, unstable character was something I always wanted to do, so I jumped at the chance. Thanks to the CW and the entire cast and crew of Melrose Place for allowing me this opportunity!"

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is moving out of Melrose Place – the actress and her costar Colin Egglesfield have been cut from the CW drama, EW reports.

The decision to cut the two actors has been “the original plan going into the development of the show,” executive producer Todd Slavkin tells EW. “We felt that once the murder mystery [involving their characters] was resolved, the tone of the show was going to shift … and [Simpson-Wentz's] character would move on.”

In a statement released after the announcement, Simpson-Wentz said, “Having the chance to play Violet on Melrose Place has been a thrill. Although I always knew her story would come to a final, insanely unpredictable end, playing a creepy, unstable character was something I always wanted to do, so I jumped at the chance. Thanks to the CW and the entire cast and crew of Melrose Place for allowing me this opportunity.”

The actors’ departure comes just a few weeks after original Melrose alum Heather Locklear began filming scenes for upcoming episodes.

Simpson-Wentz and Egglesfield took the news “like professionals,” says Slavkin. “Because they knew ahead of time [that leaving was a possibility], it wasn’t a complete shock.”

But fans shouldn’t worry about Locklear’s fate. Executive producer Darren Swimmer reveals her character will have a new love interest for at least three episodes. Adds Slavkin, “[Locklear is] in every episode moving forward. She’s a major focus [of the show].

Windows 7 launch day: Buy Windows 7, download now!

It's out! October 22nd is at last upon us, bringing with it Microsoft's latest generation of Windows, Windows 7. With preview editions released to the public, reviews galore to be found as early as August, and plenty of manufacturers already shipping product, it's probably not hard to find an opinion on the operating system or to try it out for yourself. Most folks will probably just end up getting a machine with it pre-installed, instead of going through the hassle of an upgrade, but if you want to know if it's worth the effort of a standalone buy, or even looking to buy a new all-new computer right-just-now to celebrate the OS, check out our helpful guides below:

What's clear from the review and our look at what's new in Media Center is that this is an enhanced version of Windows, but not some sort of revolution that will have Linux users repenting of their open source sins and Apple fans dropping their photorealistic icons. The articles should give you a good idea of what enhancements are in store and whether Windows 7 could truly make your old machine sing.

An age old confusion for Windows users has been slightly simplified here -- most users will end up with Windows 7 Home Premium when they buy a PC, but folks buying a copy outright have some more soul searching to do.

So you've got a copy, how are you gonna get it onto your Vista or XP box without causing the complete ruination of your digital lifestyle? Microsoft has provided some pretty good tools for this process, but we break it down and help out where we can.

Decided to skip the upgrade route and go straight for the sexy new hardware that's accompanying this release, huh? Well, you're in luck. We've rounded up some of the more notable releases, particularly some of the stuff that's packing newer processors, lower price points and a whole lot more touchscreen than last time around.

Several of you have asked me if it’s possible to buy Windows 7 and download it so you don’t have to wait for a disc to be delivered. Yes, you can.

* Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade ($119.99)
* Windows 7 Home Premium Full version ($199.99)
* Windows 7 Professional Upgrade ($199.99)
* Windows 7 Professional Full version ($299.99)
* Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade ($219.99)
* Windows 7 Ultimate Full version ($319.99)

The best part is that there’s no DVD drive needed … just download it to your hard drive or USB flash drive.

Take a trip over to the Microsoft Store where you’ll find both the full and upgrade versions available for purchase.

Is Britney Spears Music Really Torture in Gitmo?

What's with these rock artists complaining about their songs being used to faze Gitmo detainees? How can a Britney Spears song be called "torture"?

Dear Person Who Has Never Heard a Britney Spears Song: There is much we must discuss.

But yes, musicians—Pearl Jam, R.E.M. and Trent Reznor among them—are reacting this week to word that music may have been used in conjunction with detainee torture at Guantanamo Bay. "The fact that music I helped create was used in crimes against humanity sickens me," is how Tom Morello put it this week.

For the record, experts tell me that "torture" may be too strong a term for the techniques in question, so, from this point on, we'll won't use "torture." We'll say "make detainees want to drive to Britney's house, park outside and swallow a glassful of lye."

So just how could folks like Britney, Eminem, Christina Aguilera—even Elmo and his pals on Sesame Street, apparently—be used as unwitting participants in Gitmo interrogations?

Well...

...loudly, for one.

According to one torture law expert I spoke with, Gitmo interrogations often involved a boom box being placed near a prisoner's cell and turned up very loudly—somewhere between elevator Muzak and a Nine Inch Nails concert.

And, yes, Nine Inch Nails is listed as one of the musical acts used by interrogators, according to a 2008 report in Mother Jones. So, reportedly, was the theme song from Barney, Sesame Street songs and lots and lots of rap music. Neil Diamond's patriotic "America" also reportedly has been used, along with the metal staple "Enter Sandman" by Metallica.

Once the song is chosen, often by the interrogator himself or whatever soldier is operating the boom box, the music might go on for hours, or according to Jordan Sekulow, the Director of International Operations for the American Center for Law & Justice, up to 72 hours nonstop.

Technically, the playing of the music is filed under a "futility technique"—wearing the prisoner down and convincing him that, to borrow a Star Trek term, resistance is futile.

In solitary confinement, Sekulow tells me, "time can stand still, and when a song is playing over and over, it can get to you."

Particularly if that song is offensive to you and your particular culture.

"They put you in a room they play music that will throw you off balance," says Jeff Addicott, director of the Center for Terrorism Law at St. Mary's University in San Antonio. "If you're an Islamic fundamentalist, you don't want to hear patriotic songs about America, that would make you upset."

As would, presumably, a sexually charged song by a nubile Lolita like Britney or Christina, or an absurd children's song. If that doesn't do it, being told by James Hetfield to "sleep with one eye open" can't possibly prove much of a comfort.

MacBook Unibody review (late 2009)

With the launch of the unibody MacBook, Apple have not only completed the transition to their newest laptop aesthetic but also narrowed the gap between their entry-level and Pro ranges. On face level that can only mean good things for the end consumer, but does the $999 MacBook really represent the bargain Apple tell us it is? Check out the full SlashGear review after the cut.

Hold the spec sheet for the new MacBook and the entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro together, and you’ll find far more similarities than differences. Both have Intel’s 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of DDR3 memory, and an 8x SuperDrive and NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256MB graphics. In fact, the new MacBook gets a bigger standard hard-drive – 250GB 5,400rpm – than the Pro. Both also have standard WiFi a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, gigabit Ethernet, two USB 2.0 ports and Mini DisplayPort. The 13.3-inch displays on each are glossy, run at 1,280 x 800 native resolution and are vividly colored; the Pro, however, has a much broader color gamut and is significantly brighter than the basic MacBook, something to consider if you’re intending to use the notebook for graphics.

Where they differ, or more importantly how much of an impact those differences have, depends on your intended use. The MacBook has no FireWire port, no SD card slot and combines the audio in/out into a single dual-mode 3.5mm jack. Apple has also deleted the IR port, which smacks of cheapness. We prefer the MacBook’s base – now coated with a non-stick rubber, which keeps the notebook from sliding around your desk or your lap – but wish the glass, multitouch trackpad wasn’t surrounded by such a glossy palm-rest. Like the rest of the plastic casing, it’s surprisingly prone to scratches, too, and we’re also unimpressed by the absence of an external battery gauge.

The MacBook’s keyboard remains solid and usable, and the trackpad is as intuitive (after a brief period of acclimatization) as on the Pro range. It may be bigger in all dimensions (and heavier) than the smallest Pro, but at 1.08-inches thick it’s still not a hefty notebook. The new, unibody styling has a practical as well as aesthetic purpose, making the MacBook sturdier and less prone to flex, and the screen hinge feels stronger too.

GeekBench proved that the new MacBook has the performance to match the slick style, and while those in need of heavy-duty processing should still look to the MacBook Pro line, general users should find themselves well served by the Core 2 Duo 2.26GHz processor. The MacBook scored 3537 overall, falling just short of what a 2.53GHz MacBook Pro managed less than a year ago and almost 400 points ahead of a 2.40GHz MacBook of the same vintage. In more real-world applications, Safari opened with little delay and the laptop managed several open windows, concurrent apps and simultaneous media playback with no complaint.

As the last to get the unibody treatment, the MacBook is the final model in Apple’s notebook range to lose its user-replaceable battery. Now hidden behind the soft-touch base plate, the 60-watt-hour is rated for up to 7hrs use (with wireless switched on) as well as 1,000 recharge cycles; Apple say that’s the equivalent of up to five years use. They’re also waxing about the battery’s environment credentials, and indeed the whole notebook is greener than before.

It’s early days to judge battery performance, but with a mixture of media playback, browsing and email we found the MacBook good for between 4.5 and 6 hours. Playing video files that were heavy on CPU or GPU decoding dropped that down to around 4hrs. We’ll continue testing over the next week or so, as the battery conditions, but as with the unibody MacBook Pro we’d be surprised if everyday use brought you near the quoted 7hrs runtime.

If you’re weighing the new MacBook or the entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro, unless you require high color accuracy (in which case you’re likely using a larger, external display) right now we’d plump for the MacBook. Apple will inevitably roll out an updated Pro range reasonably early into 2010, but as it stands you’re getting pretty much the same key specifications in the MacBook, only for $200 less. That’s a fair chunk of money, and while you don’t get the SD card reader or the FireWire port, you do get a larger hard-drive.

Some of Apple’s decisions smack of conscious range delineation – are the home users picking a MacBook any less likely to want an SD slot to shuffle over photos from their digital cameras? – but right now we’d take that $200, spend a few bucks on a USB-SD adapter and settle down with what’s turned out to be one of the best entry-level notebooks Apple have produced.

Lil Wayne Heading to Jail for Gun Rap

Lil Wayne's heading to the big house.

The "Hot Revolver" rapper struck a deal with Manhattan prosecutors and pleaded guilty today to attempted weapons possession in exchange for a one-year prison sentence, a spokeswoman for the Manhattan District Attorney's Office confirmed to E! News.

The 27-year-old Grammy winner, aka Dwayne Carter III, appeared before Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Charles Solomon and copped to a felony count of attempted criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. Hizzoner allowed the New Orleans MC to remain free on his current $30,000 bond but ordered him to surrender his passport.

Lil Wayne's attorney, Stacey Richman, told E! News that the plea agreement had been in the works for some time.

"Wayne decided that this was what he wanted to do. I think he had made the decision some time ago and there were discussions [with members of his posse]," the legal eagle said.

Maybe he can ring up incarcerated pal T.I. and ask for some pointers?

Still, Weezy should consider himself lucky, given he could have gotten a much longer sentence if convicted on the original, more serious gun charges.

Lil Wayne got into this mess on July 22, 2007 when police searched his tour bus following a concert at the Beacon Theater in New York City and found a loaded .40-caliber pistol. He was initially booked on one count of criminal weapons possession and one count of criminal possession of a loaded weapon, charges carrying a minimum of three and a half years and a maximum of 15.

The Grammy winner's plea bargain came a day after a hearing on DNA evidence in the case in which his attorney, Stacey Richman, argued that investigators' profiling technique wasn't widely accepted in the scientific community and that the gun in question didn't belong to her client but someone else on the bus.

Lil Wayne's trial was set to kick off Jan. 20. Solomon has now scheduled the next hearing for Dec. 15, at which point the case will be adjourned until February for sentencing.

Richman added that Lil Wayne will begin his term at that time and will likely serve approximately eight months. As for whether it will affect his career, the lawyer didn't think so.

"He's an elegant and intelligent man. . .I don't perceive given who he is, his talents, that this should damage him," she said.

Five Ways Windows 7 Could Become another Vista

Windows 7 is finally here. The sun can shine and the birds can chirp. Ding dong, Windows Vista is dead! Perhaps that is a bit premature. Windows 7 hasn't been officially released for 24 hours yet, so its understandable if the jury is still deliberating. There are certainly those who think Windows 7 is nothing more than Windows Vista with an extra bell or whistle thrown in for eye candy.

To be honest, I like Windows 7 and believe it will be a phenomenal success for Microsoft. Earlier I wrote a post detailing 5 reasons to upgrade to Windows 7. But, just to play devil's advocate, let's take a look at 5 ways Windows 7 could become another Vista.

1. UAC still there. UAC-- the bane of Windows Vista-- hasn't gone away. Microsoft altered the behavior and added a configuration slider than enables the user to select what level of protection UAC will provide, thus controlling the volume of pop-up alerts generated by UAC.

However, after much debate with the security community during the Beta testing, the default setting is still set to what users experienced with Windows Vista. Frankly, UAC serves a purpose and it is better to leave it alone. But, those who dislike UAC are going to have to go into the control panel and modify the configuration to their liking or be faced with the same pop-ups that annoyed the world with Vista.

2. Hardware and Drivers. Windows Vista stumbled and fell right out of the blocks as a result of lagging hardware and device driver support. The vendors just weren't ready when Vista was launched and Vista never really recovered from the damaged reputation even after most of those issues were resolved. The legal issues Microsoft faced with the Windows Vista compatible logo debacle didn't help either.

Users get upset when they get a new operating system and find out that their existing printer, wireless router, webcam, or other peripheral hardware doesn't work with it. They are left with the choice of not having the hardware or springing for new hardware that is compatible which doesn't make them happy campers.

3. Performance improvement minor. A lot of fuss has been made about performance tweaks that ostensibly make Windows 7 faster than Windows Vista or Windows XP. In my opinion, vendors in general and Microsoft specifically should make these improvements, but not market them.

The problem is that ‘performance' is so subjective to the exact hardware the operating system is running on, or the types of applications being run, or the number of applications being run simultaneously. Citing performance as a selling point almost always backfires because A) the performance improvement is generally not enough to make a difference to normal users, and B) there are almost always just as many studies and reviews showing equal or even slower performance which turns into a sort of he-said / she-said marketing nightmare.

4. Expensive. Face it. Windows 7 is not cheap. For those who are purchasing a new computer system with Windows 7 pre-installed, Windows 7 is great. For those running Windows XP or Windows Vista and just wanting to upgrade the OS on their existing hardware, spending $100 to $300 depending on the flavor of Windows 7 can be a tough pill to swallow. You can get a brand new desktop computer with Windows 7 for around $300, and the latest version of the Mac OS was only $29.

5. No direct upgrade from XP. To me, this is the most obvious mis-step by Microsoft in developing Windows 7. Maybe it just couldn't be done, but I would have had all of my best developers working night and day to figure out how to make it happen. After the issues with Windows Vista, and knowing that the vast majority of users-both consumer and enterprise-are still relying on Windows XP, it seems like a direct upgrade path is a necessity.

Many users may be frustrated by the lack of upgrade path and having to do a fresh install, reinstall all of the other software and migrate user settings. Microsoft has provided tools to ease the pain, but this is still the biggest opportunity for negative PR or backlash related to Windows 7.

My take: Windows 7 will be a success and restore some lost faith in Microsoft. I also think that Windows XP users should upgrade to something...anything. The Windows XP operating system is a decade old. If you don't like Windows 7, by all means switch to Mac OS X or load Ubuntu Linux or something, but enough already with the Windows XP.

Lindsay : It's OK for 15-Year-Old Sister to Party

We've been seeing Lindsay Lohan drag her 15-year-old sister, Ali, around to various late-night events, and yeah, we do think it's a little strange and probably not a good idea.

Well, turns out we're wrong. According to Lindsay, Ali can handle it.

"She's tougher than I am," Linds told Life & Style. "She has a good head on her shoulders. Maybe it was different for me because I didn't know what to expect and it just happened really fast. I didn't have a big sister."

It's too bad there was no one there to give Lindsay lessons on how to party responsibly, pass along awesome hand-me-downs or share practical skin care tips, otherwise things might have been a lot different. As such, Ali's going to be a much better partyer.

Already, Ali's got one thing going for her because she knows when to call it a night and do her homework...

"She's really good about that," Lindsay says. "If I'm going out late, she'll go home early."

Of course, Ali is too busy being famous to go to regular school and is homeschooled. We can only imagine the kinds of things Dina assigns. Probably something along the lines of compose a nasty response to Frances Bean Cobain or record "Christmas Magic: The Reeeemix."

Kangin's drunk hit and run incident, further trouble over picture taken at the bar

Super Junior's Kangin (Kim Young Woon, 24) had a drunk hit and run issue which had already been highly criticized and disapproved at, but the controversy grows bigger with this picture he took with a woman at the bar from where his first incident occured.

Since the 18th, different websites posted the picture which was captured from the woman's mini homepage and netizens tried to figure out when the picture was uploaded; however, the exact date of the photo was unclear due to the many edits performed on it.

The woman with Kangin in the photo just put up the picture with the words "I was lucky. He's fun and talks well and drinks well and he's handsome but he needs to improve his language (needs to stop cussing)."

After the netizens discovered the woman's mini homepage, she was attacked and even her personal information was revealed.

One netizen said "I don't understand why this woman would upload such a photo right in the midst of such Kangin's current controversy"

Others were throroughly disappointed in Kangin yet again. Netizens also said "He's an idol singer who depends on his image because it's his job; why in the world would he agree to take such a photo?" "Is his job in the entertainment industry a mistake?" etc.

Other netizens fired back saying "He was drinking at a bar with a woman and took a picture, why does that make you so angry?" and these people expressed that there is nothing majorly wrong with taking the harmless picture.

Meanwhile, Kangin's company, SM Entertainment, spoke out on his drunk hig and run incident and announced that he is banned from any activities at least until the end of the year.

Justin and Jessica: Moody but Still Together

There's certainly been a lot of talk lately about Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel's relationship.

You know, things like, are they still an item? Is he hooking up with Rihanna? What's up with him partying solo? Heck, even J.T.'s mom is chiming in.

So, naturally, we feel compelled to continue watching their every move because, well, we've come this far, why stop now?

Our latest sighting of the couple took place Wednesday in Vancouver, and we couldn't help but notice that they both looked a bit melancholy, which, of course, got us to once again wonder whether there is in fact trouble in paradise.

On second thought, that chill in the air we're sensing might simply be for us.

Ella Reveals About Jerry Yan's Incident of Unfortunate Fall from Chair

After many months of hectic filming, filming for the super-idol drama serial - [Down With Love] has finally wrapped up in Taiwan some time back. During the post-filming celebrations, Ella appeared in a little black dress and she shared on her exciting experiences filming together with Jerry Yan; and even revealed that Jerry had a "spate of bad luck" just before filming wraps up.

The super-idol drama, being a collaboration between Jing Xi Ying Shi, An Wei Wei Shi and Taiwan's GTV, has a strong cast. Not only has the production team invited Asia's Super Idol Jerry Yan and Asia's Number 1 Female Heavenly Group - S.H.E's Ella as lead actor and actress respectively; the cast also included artistes like Chen Zi Han, Yuan Wen Kang, Jade Liu Li Yang, Michael Zhang etc - all of whom are artistes with both fame and would interest the media and viewers.

When sharing on her role, the vivacious and carefree Ella said her challenge this time is to act as a "down-and-old, riches-to-rag girl". In order to raise funds to repay the debts her father owed, she has to take on many odd-jobs. And through this opportunity, she got to develop a sweet romance with her employer in the serial - Jerry Yan's role. The Cinderella storyline is interesting to Ella. Even the previously reported by media to be "bad temper and difficult" Jerry Yan has appeared very obliging and mild-tempered thoughout, and once said, "Ella is one of the women who impacted me most."

[DWL] has filmed for 3 months and the cast endured filming under the scorching heat of 40 degree celsius and sacrificed many hours of sleep. Nonetheless, Ella is still very excited. For at one moment, she could be wearning a little yellow cap and a round-neck white blouse with a blue pinafore with a Chibi Maruko-chan look; and at the other moment, she is required to piggyback a 20kg prop refrigerator to run up and down. Every exaggerating image and styling she has to put on, and each romantic and funny scene has allowed her to satisfy her every acting craving she has had since 3 years ago. The excited Ella could not help but always mention her character Yang Guo as a person who is "very mature and sensible in character and lovable".

Despite filming has wrapped up, Ella still reminisces about the memorable filming experiences with the cast and Jerry Yan. She revealed that Jerry seemed to be hit by a series of misfortune just before filming wraps up. "There was a scene where his character - Lawyer Xiang Yu Ping was kidnapped, and one of the extras accidentally caused Jerry to fell off a chair. Shortly after this incident, Jerry has to film a scene whereby he was forcefully shoved into the car by the kidnappers. While filming thi, his eyes and head got knocked against the side of the door. It was really a "spate of bad luck" for him then."

Although Jerry was injured by one after another incident on the set just before the end of filming and even had to visit the hospital, he appeared very optimistic. He not only reassured the production team that his injury was superficial, but also joked that it was good luck to "see red*" just before filming ends, as it would symbolise that [DWL]'s viewership will definitely scale to great heights.

Chris Brown Takes Stab at Public Absolution, Rewrites History With New Single

Well, what are the chances? Just two days after Rihanna debuted her new single, chronic one-upper (among other things) Chris Brown has rolled out a new song of his own.

And while those looking to link Rihanna's "Russian Roulette" to her Brown beatdown did so courtesy of tenuous lyrical metaphors and heavy speculation, Brown isn't making his listeners work quite so hard with "Crawl."

Interestingly, while RiRi came out fighting, draping herself in barbed wire and peppering her dark tune with gunshots, Brown—still deep in character and career rehabilitation—went the Céline Dion route, releasing a slow jam that paints him as nothing more than a hopeful man who just so happens to be unlucky-in-love.

Well, in his defense, you try finding something that rhymes with "girlfriend-beater."

"Everybody says we're through / I hope you haven't said it too," he sings in his second new track. "So where do we go from here with all this fear in our eyes?"

Presumably, he means other than to the side of the road to pick up trash.

"And where can love take us now," he continues. "We've been so far down / We can still touch the sky.

"I need one more chance / We can still have it all…So let's crawl, crawl, crawl / Back to love."

Whether his attempt at musical absolution manages to crawl up the charts remains to be seen. So which star wins in the battle of the comebacks—Rihanna or Chris?

Dell Adamo XPS opens up for Windows 7 festivities, but still not for sale

So much for Business Week's "confirmed" October 22nd launch date from over the weekend, eh? We just spoke with Dell's PR who told us that the company has yet to confirm a launch date for its slender Adamo XPS, and still won't, except to say that it's not reaching the unwashed masses at any point today. That doesn't mean today was all bad for the vigilant in waiting, as we finally got our first public showing of the front of the laptop, proving once and for all that the most recent press photo isn't crooked. So there you have it, a chiclet keyboard and touchpad that likes to curl up close with the screen -- mystery's over, folks, now we play the waiting game.

Update: Laptop Mag notes a removable battery and what's likely to be an Intel ULV processor -- it's definitely not Atom.

Park JaeBum confesses his feelings on broadcast show

Former 2PM member Park Jae-beom will reveal his feelings on TV for the first time since leaving the boy band last month, according to a broadcaster on Thursday.

KBS announced that it will air a video by the former boy band leader on the first episode of "Sunday Night", a new current events variety program.

The producers of the show flew to Seattle to interview Park, but he instead shot a video of himself talking about how he feels and sent it to the show.

The former K-pop idol reportedly said in the video that he "will say something after time passes" and that he is currently reflecting upon himself.

The 22-year-old singer had come under heat over controversial comments he made about Korea on his MySpace account before his debut. He quit the group four days after the comments became public and returned to his hometown Seattle on September 8.

The show, hosted by comedian Nam Hee-seok, is set to premiere Sunday at 11:35 p.m.

HTC's HD2 continues to impress, reveals multi-touch web browsing

We've seen plenty about HTC's hot HD2, gone hands-on and sized it up next to everyone's most/least favorite smartphone, but there's one thing we haven't seen yet: multi-touch in IE. The video embedded below from Techblog.gr is in a language you may not quite understand, but certainly everyone can grok the snappy UI performance and the pinch zooming demonstrated at the 2:20 mark. It does look a wee bit unresponsive at this point, but HTC still has time to make things perfect before releasing it here -- though to be honest we'd rather just have it now.

Wonder Girls debuts on Billboard Hot 100 at the #76 spot

Korean pop group Wonder Girls have become the first Korean artists to enter the Billboard singles chart, according to their agency JYP Entertainment on Thursday.

The group's single "Nobody" entered the Billboard Hot100 at No. 76, the first time for a Korean artist to be placed on the chart in its 115-year history. Only three other artists from Asia as a whole have ever made it onto the chart.

The Billboard chart combines the number of airplays, album sales and digital downloads.

Earlier in the week, JYP had announced that according to an airplay analysis chart by music website Mediabase, "Nobody" was played over 65 times by radio stations between October 12 to 18, increasing the group's airplay ranking by 16 spots from the previous week to No. 107.

"Nobody" was also the top-selling single for the same week with 30,418 copies, outselling pop stars Madonna and Shakira.

The girl group, who announced their U.S. debut in June, signed with management company Jonas Group and had been opening for popular boy band The Jonas Brothers U.S. tour over the summer. They performed in front of over 1.5 million fans in 42 cities over 53 performances.

"It was good targeting U.S. teenagers because they don't discriminate," an official at JYP Entertainment was quoted as saying. "And it was absolutely effective to target the U.S. market with a Korean concept and song without the help of American producers and songwriters."

The five-member girl band, who debuted in Korea in 2007, is one of the most successful pop groups in the country with three consecutive No. 1 singles, "Tell Me", "So Hot", and "Nobody".

Archos 9 PC Tablet hits shelves today

The Archos 9 PC tablet has been somewhat overshadowed by its smaller, Android-based sibling, but the French company would like to remind you that, with the debut of Windows 7, the 9-inch touchscreen “future of netbooks” is now available to buy. £449.99 ($748) gets you a resistive touchscreen, Atom Z515 processor and integrated WiFi and Bluetooth, all in a device 800g and just 1.7cm thick.

The Archos 9 display runs at 1,024 x 600, but Archos are claiming it can deal with 1080p Full HD video; you’ll need to plug in an external monitor to make the most of that, but sadly there’s only a VGA port on offer rather than HDMI. The hard-drive is also pretty paltry if you’re looking at storing HD content, being a mere 60GB in size.

Connectivity includes two USB 2.0 ports, the aforementioned VGA, audio in/out and 10/100 ethernet. A 1.3-megapixel webcam is integrated, and Archos will happily sell you a matching Bluetooth QWERTY keyboard.

Apple must upgrade Boot Camp to support Windows 7

Promises update by year's end for Snow Leopard, abandons nine older Macs

Apple today announced that it will update its Boot Camp utility before the end of the year to support Microsoft's just-launched Windows 7.

In a short support document posted to the Apple site, the company said it would soon revise Boot Camp, a utility that lets users run Windows and its applications in a separate disk partition on an Intel-based Mac.

"Apple will support Microsoft Windows 7 (Home Premium, Professional, and Ultimate) with Boot Camp in Mac OS X Snow Leopard before the end of the year," the document said. "This support will require a software update to Boot Camp."

The document also listed nine older iMac, MacBook Pro and Mac Pro models that will not be able to run Windows 7 in Boot Camp. Although all the machines use an Intel processor, Apple did not elaborate on why they would not support Microsoft's new operating system.

On the list were four iMacs, including the 17-in. and 20-in. models from 2006; four MacBook Pros, including 15-in. and 17-in. notebooks released that same year; and the mid-2006 Mac Pro workstation powered by an Intel Xeon Dual-core running at 2.66GHz or 3GHz.

Owners of those machines have an alternative to Boot Camp in VMware's Fusion 3.0, the virtualization technology set to launch Oct. 27. Fusion 3.0, works on any Intel-based Mac, according to VMware.

Fusion 3.0 will run all editions of Windows 7, including Starter, Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate. It requires an Intel Mac with Mac OS X 10.5.8 or later, or Snow Leopard, also known as Mac OS X 10.6.

Apple did not set a ship date for the Boot Camp update.
