Angelina Jolie Earned $1 Million More Than Jen Aniston Last Year

Angelina Jolie bests Jennifer Aniston -- again.

Jolie, 34, out earned Aniston, 40, in 2009, according to Vanity Fair's "Hollywood's Top 40" list (in the March issue).

Jolie came in at No. 32 on the list by making $21 million last year; $20 million of that for her action thriller, Salt, which doesn't even hit theaters until next July. She made an extra mil in royalties from other films, the mag estimates.

Aniston isn't too far behind at No. 31. She earned $20 million last year, but had to do a lot more work. VF says she made $8 million each for The Bounty Hunter (with Gerard Butler) and The Baster. She banked $3 million for 2008's Marley & Me thanks to back-end earnings of its $243 million worldwide gross and DVD sales, and $1 million from He's Just Not That Into You.

(Jolie didn't always rake in more dough than Aniston. In 2008, Forbes estimated she earned $27 million largely thanks to Marley & Me, while Jolie made $14 million.)

Both ladies are far ahead of Brad Pitt, who came in dead last on the list with $13.5 million.

Speaking of Oscars, Where Is Tom Cruise's?

Now that this year's kinda ho-hum Oscar noms have been announced, let's think of ways to sex up the damn awards in the future and perhaps prevent this yawn-worthy spread from ever happening again.

Plus, it could help save Tom Cruise's career at the same time!

Oh, and before I tell you how, can someone please explain to me why some red-hot mama wasn't chosen to cohost this year's show with Alec Baldwin, instead of pasty Steve Martin?

I know Alec's pasty, too, but, he's sexy pasty, Steve's just...pasty. Why the hell wasn't Jennifer Aniston or arch nemesis Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Hudson chosen? Yeah, I really wanna look at two bloated dudes who haven't done crunches since Lady Gaga dressed normally.

Anyway, back to how we're going to wake up the Oscars and Tom Cruise's career:

Tom needs to play gay.

Just ask Philip Seymour Hoffman (Capote), Tom Hanks (Philadelphia), Sean Penn (Milk) and myriad other dudes who have been gifted with Oscar acclaim and glitter, after they were deemed brave enough to take on playing a homosexual. I'm telling you, if you're a woman and you play a hooker, you get dusted with Oscar gold, and if you're a guy, it's the same thing if you take on the fagola stuff.

Sources Say Taylor Swift and John Mayer Are 'Definitely' Something

John Mayer is known for dating beautiful women -- and clearly doesn't discriminate on their ages. The 32-year-old rocker, who was previously involved with 40-year-old Jennifer Aniston, is now rumored to be dating Taylor Swift, 20.

"Taylor and John are absolutely more than 'just friends,'" a source tells Hollywoodlife

"They aren't 'boyfriend and girlfriend' or anything as provincial as that, but they have taken their friendship to the next level," the source adds.

Rumors about the pair have been floating around for a few weeks. And the Grammy-winning Swift doesn't mind.

"I try not to be a complainer, you know?" she told Usmagazine about the reports.

Warner Confirms 'Harry Potter,' 'Titans,' and Others to be in 3D

Along with Warner Bros. announcing plans to mine DC Comics for more feature film releases thanks to their financial success, they have also released information regarding which of their upcoming films will be released in headache inducing three dimensions.

The most anticipated films to be given the 3D treatments are Clash of the Titans and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part I. Rumors had been swirling around the two films being given the in-your-face treatment, but while it seemed fairly likely that Harry Potter would be released with it, the relatively close release date of Clash on April 2 brought that film's 3D conversion into question. The film was not originally intended to be released in 3D, so it will have to undergo a post-production conversion, which is fairly more expensive than if had originally been intended to be that way from the beginning. There wasn't any word about whether The Deathly Hollows: Part II, the second and final part of Warners' adaptation of the book, but it's safe to say that, if the first film is, the second film logically will be, too.

HTML vs. Flash: Can a turf war be avoided?

A difference of opinion among developers has become a high-profile debate over the future of the Web: should programmers continue using Adobe Systems' Flash or embrace newer Web technology instead?

The debate has gone on for years, but last week's debut of Apple's iPad--which like the iPhone doesn't support Flash--turned up the heat. Before that, Adobe had been saying with some restraint that it's happy to bring Flash to the iPhone when Apple gives the go-ahead.

But Chief Technology Officer Kevin Lynch took the gloves off Tuesday with a blog post that said Apple's reluctance to include Flash on its "magical device" means iPad buyers will effectively see a crippled Web. And he played the Google Nexus One card, too.

Will your new Windows 7 PC support XP Mode?

Last May, a few months before Windows 7 was released to manufacturing, I looked at the then-current crop of CPUs available for business PC buyers and identified a potential sticking point: Some of the most popular Intel CPUs available at the time didn’t support hardware-assisted virtualization (HAV). That made them incompatible with the newly announced Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode, a crucial compatibility feature in Windows 7.

The problem is that Windows Virtual PC requires hardware-assisted virtualization (Intel VT for Intel CPUs, AMD-V for AMD processors). And the late-2008/early-2009 CPU lineup from Intel was notoriously inconsistent in its support for VT.

So, is that issue still a sticking point for corporate customers considering a Windows 7 upgrade in 2010? My quick survey of the current PC market says you’re much less likely to run into virtualization problems today, but at most online shopping sites you’ll have a hard time finding details about virtualization support for specific models. Here’s a recap:

Gmail to drop IE6 support this year

Microsoft supports rival's call to abandon creaky browser

Google will suspend Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) support for its Gmail and Calendar services later this year, the company said today.

The move will come at some point after March 1, when Google will start scaling back IE6 support for Google Docs and Google Sites. Google announced that decision on Friday, two weeks after the company admitted that hackers had breached its network and stolen information.

"We plan to stop supporting older browsers for the rest of the Google Apps suite, including Gmail, later in 2010," a Google spokesman confirmed today.

On Google's no-support list along with IE6 are Mozilla's Firefox 2.0, Apple's Safari 2.0 and Google's own Chrome 3.0.

On Tuesday, administrators of Google Apps accounts received e-mail from Google that informed them of the phasing out of IE6 support for Docs and Sites, and told them of similar steps for Gmail and Google Calendar. "Later in 2010, we will start to phase out support for these browsers for Google Mail and Google Calendar," the e-mail read.

The Google spokesman declined to provide a specific timetable for dropping IE6 support for Gmail and Calendar.

Lee Da Hae for Marie Claire Korea

Popular actress Lee Da Hae is featured in the latest issue of Marie Claire Korea. Marie Claire uploaded some teaser photos from the shoot a few weeks ago and recently uploaded the whole photo set on their website. The photo shoot is titled “addicted to pink” and features Lee Da Hae in many pink outfits, it fits the Valentine’s theme as Valentine’s day is coming up this month.

Lee Da Hae stars in the popular drama Chuno and was in the news recently because of a controversial revealing scene… speaking of revealing, my favorite photo from the shoot is the bikini photo where she reveals her nice abs and body. Check out the photos below and thanks to mir00 for the tip.

Lee Hyori new album title song a foreign song? “With a new style”

Coming back with her 4th album within this 2 months, it has been known that there is high possibility that sexy queen Lee Hyori’s comeback title song may be a foreign song.

A representative revealed recently, “It is likely that we will use a foreign song for Lee Hyori’s new album title song. The songs written by the composers who worked with Lee Hyori for the album are said to be not what Hyori is looking for, hence it seems that it has been decided that a foreign song with a new style will be chosen as the title song.”

4minute and BEAST’s Junhyung to be featured on Amerie’s upcoming album

Thanks to their partnership with Universal music, girl group 4minute is gaining much attention for their participation on Amerie’s upcoming track Heard’em All.

Dubbed as the “2nd Beyonce,” Amerie is a mixed R&B singer with Korean and African American blood.

And it looks like she’s getting in touch with her Korean heritage as her track Heard’em All will feature 4minute and the rapping of BEAST member Junhyung. This is going to be a special track off Amerie’s upcoming ‘In Love & War‘ album as her powerful vocals unite with 4minute’s unique sound.

Microsoft warns of new IE data-leakage vulnerability

Microsoft today issued a security advisory to acknowledge an information disclosure hole in its Internet Explorer browser and warned that an attacker could exploit the flaw to access files with an already known filename and location.

The vulnerability was first discussed at this week’s Black Hat DC conference by Jorge Luis Alvarez Medina, a security consultant with Core Security Technologies. Microsoft says the risk is highest for IE users running Windows XP or who have disabled the browser’s Protected Mode feature.

Medina’s presentation demonstrated how an attacker can read every file of an IE user’s filesystem. The attack scenario leveraged different design features of Internet Explorer that can be combined to do serious damage.

Here’s more on Medina’s talk from DarkReading’s Kelly Jackson-Higgins:

[Medina] says popular features in IE, such as URL Security Zones and the browser’s file-sharing protocol, can together be abused to execute an attack that results in the attacker being able to read all files on the victim’s machine. Medina plans to release proof-of-concept code for the attack next month after Black Hat DC, and after Microsoft issues a security update for the attack, which affects IE versions 6 and above, he says.

Joojoo tablet now in production, will support full Flash at launch

That other tablet that was announced just a week ago sure doesn't seem to be setting Fusion Garage's Joojoo off course. Not only did it see an increase in orders after the iPad announcement, but Fusion Garage CEO Chandra Rathakrishna just told us that production of the 12-inch tablet has kicked off and that the product is on target to start shipping this month. And it doesn't sound like legal fees from fighting the TechCrunch lawsuit over the product are depleting Fusion Garage's bank account: Chandra told us it's teamed up with OEM CSL Group of Malaysia, which will be footing the bill for manufacturing in exchange for a "low single-digit" percentage of product revenue. We have our doubts about the math, but we'll see how happy everyone is if and when the Joojoo starts shipping. (We'll also see if James Cameron notices that Fusion Garage keeps using unlicensed Avatar images in its promo pictures.)

Next iPhone may possibly record HD video in 720p?

Okay, so Apple’s iPod Nano doesn’t exactly have the best video recording of all gadgets, but HD video is gradually shaping up to be a crucial feature to be included in next-generation devices. Some hints have surfaced that HD video may just be implemented on the next iPhone.

If you’ve seen our post on the “N89” codename in the iPhone OS SDK, a tipster has just taken a look at the MediaValidator.plist file - it reveals several enlightening stats: the maximum video width is up from 768 pixels to 1280, and the maximum number of pixels per frame is up to 921,600, resulting in a 1280 x 720 resolution. The device’s AVC profile has been bumped from 3.0 to 3.1, too, which adds support for 720p. Seems like everything points to the direction of HD video – thoughts?

Kellan Lutz's Underwear Ad Campaign Revealed!

Sometimes, reality fails to match the hype. For many, this was the case with Apple's latest innovation, the iPad.

Fortunately, it's not remotely true for Kellan Lutz's Calvin Klein campaign, the reports about which had readers anxiously counting down the days until they could see this actor in his underwear.

They now can - and the result is as steamy as one could imagine! Lutz stars in the company's new X ad spot, which officially launches on March 1.

Jennifer Garner Jessica Biel Marie Claire Magazine March 2010

Hollywood starlets Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel became fast friends while playing best friends in the new box office ensemble comedy Valentine’s Day. Now the girls are sharing the deets on their new bond on the pages of the March issue of Marie Claire.

“We don’t work with a lot of women on our films,” Jennifer told the women’s interest magazine during a co-interview with Jessica, on newsstands Tuesday. “The two weeks I worked on this movie were the only two weeks I’ve worked in about a year-and-a-half because of being pregnant and now having a 1-year-old. But when I do work, it’s always one woman and a bunch of men in my casts – maybe my character has a friend in the script, but not always. It’s odd. So on this film, it was great to have someone like Jessica around, even though most of our scenes as best friends were over the phone.”

Jessica added, “You never really bond with all the guys in your cast like they do with each other.”

Eminem Reportedly Back Together with (Pregnant!) Ex

Eminem and Kim Mathers have been married twice.

In 2000, a year after they first tied the knot, Kim attempted suicide and then sued the rapper for defamation after he sung about her violent death in the single "Kim."

The couple remarried in 2006, only to divorce again three months later. Eminem once said: "I'd rather have a baby through my penis than get married again;" while Kim has referred to her ex as being "unathletic" in bed.

In other words: this has been a rocky relationship. Which makes the following rumor entirely possible.

Star Magazine reports that Eminem and Kim aren't just back together; they're expecting a child together this spring! Said a source:

"When he came into Kim's life again in a romantic way, she was floored. Kim's pregnancy is going smoothly."

That's more than we can say about the past between this pair. But, hey, best of luck to them!

Sony Ericsson Vivaz U5a approved by FCC, AT&T 3G bands included

Officially announced last month, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz (aka SE Kurara U5) has passed the FCC’s tests today, as Sony Ericsson U5a.

The Vivaz U5a has been approved to work on the UMTS II and V bands – that’s 1900MHz and 850MHz, so AT&T or Rogers can use the handset on their 3G networks.

Vivaz is Sony Ericsson’s second smartphone based on Symbian S60 5th Edition (Symbian^1), after the Satio.

Motorola Zeppelin shows its Android UI (with MotoBlur) in Brazil

In case you had any doubts, the Motorola Zeppelin seen last week is, indeed, running Android (OS 1.5, to be exact) – some new photos of it have appeared in Brazil confirming this.

According to Gizmodo, the Motorla Zeppelin should be available in Brazil starting March, together with the Motorola BackFlip (which is already available in China and will be launched by AT&T, too).

Like the BackFlip and Verizon’s just-announced Motorola Devour, the Zeppelin will come with the MotoBlur interface. The phone also features a 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash and (probably) a HVGA touchscreen display.

Symbian OS going free and open source for first time

Starting Thursday, the source code for Symbian’s operating system platform will become entirely open source and free (Symbian’s software currently powers most of the smartphones in the world, and is owned by Nokia). Tomorrow hence the day developers will be able to download, alter, and apply the software at no costs at all.

“The dominant operating system provider out there is Symbian,” says Lee Williams, executive director of the Symbian Foundation, “and now we are offering developers the ability to do so much more.”

Dante's Inferno

Just a few days ago Dante's Inferno didn't have much more to show for itself outside of an expensive marketing campaign. But Reviews Editor Tae K. Kim found EA's Hell-based brawler a well-structured hack-n-slash with some memorable levels, inventive enemies, and a worthwhile combat engine; it's just too bad the story doesn't live up to its potential.

Game design feels like one big round of "follow the leader" sometimes: when a game does something successfully, everyone else tries to put their own spin on it. Grand Theft Auto 3 had that effect, leading to a bevy of like-minded titles that aped the concepts that made it so great. The God of War franchise has also left its own indelible mark and it's finally starting to show with titles like Bayonetta and Darksiders following in Kratos' deity-sized footsteps. Dante's Inferno is another chip off the old Grecian block but it exists somewhere in the middle of those two aforementioned titles: unlike Bayonetta, which took the formula and gave it a total glam makeover, Dante's hews closer to the tried and true; yet, unlike Darksiders, which was a little too familiar for its own good, it actively tries to do something different.

Listen to Mandarin version of So Hot

Having listened to the Mandarin version of Nobody a few days earlier, the Mandarin version of So Hot by the Wonder Girls has also been released.

If you didn’t know yet, the Wonder Girls are set to make an entry into the lucrative Chinese market by releasing a best hits album on February 12th. This album will contain most of their hit songs, including Mandarin versions of their trilogy hit songs, Nobody, So Hot and Tell Me.

U-Kiss’s first album hits #1 on charts after one day

U-Kiss’s first album, Only You, is number one on ,b>Hanteo’s latest chart, and is number two on the daily chart. The latest chart is updated almost hourly which means it instantly rose to the top. The album was only released yesterday but it’s already topping the charts!

Hanteo is not the only place they took over. They are topping the charts at Hot Tracks, Syn-nara Records and Evan Records. The album has also already become a bestseller in many stores.

The only setback is that U-Kiss been getting accused of plagiarism for their song Bang Bang Bang.

Despite that issue, do you think this album’s title track Round and Round (빙글빙글) can win them a #1 on a music program? Their comeback performances are happening all weekend so stay tuned.

Wu Chun shows off his abs in the February issue of GQ

Wu Chun has always been marketed as a "quality idol" during his days in Fahrenheit and idol dramas. His management company would insist on hiding his multiple tattoos whenever possible. However, after completing two movies, Wu Chun now gives off a much manlier vibe, along with style and personality.

The singer/actor frankly admits that he felt uneasy about his quick rise to the top. He is not like many idols who think they are very good at what they are doing. Wu Chun acknowledges the fact that he did not come from a performing arts background, “(I) got pulled into acting without knowing anything, and even my Mandarin wasn’t good. (I) really want to take some classes to improve myself.”

Brad Pitt: I Love Jennifer Aniston (According to OK)!

Like clockwork, it's the middle of the week, and that means a deluge of tabloid reports announcing the imminent split of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Shocking!

After a certain point, don't they feel this damages their credibility a little bit? We realize they're supermarket tabloids, but 40 weeks in a row of the same thing?

At least this week's OK! bombshell has a slightly new twist: Brad Pitt still loves Jennifer Aniston, and can't stand Angelina, but is conflicted because of the kids!

Despite "presenting a united front for awards season," Brangelina's relationship is dissolving, and friends say Brad is regretting ever leaving Jennifer Aniston.

Still, he'll stay Angie for his children’s sake... BUT FOR HOW LONG!?

“Brad was very calm and mellow and gave a great, funny speech" at the Director’s Guild Awards, reports a source, adding: “He and Angie seemed very happy.”

But are they really? Deep down? No, OK! says.

They put on a good show, but Ian Halperin, author of Brangelina: The Untold Story, predicts that the couple will announce their split “when no one expects it.”

Not open-ended or vague at all there, Ian.

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher Planning Big Wedding 'But Nothing Overblown'

It's a big year for pop singer Carrie Underwood - fresh from impressing style experts with her look at the Grammy Awards, the one-time 'American Idol' will sing the national anthem at the 2010 Super Bowl. After that? A "big hair and eyeliner" wedding with pro hockey player Mike Fisher, Underwood says.

Life & Style magazine spoke to Fisher about the big day, and shared the wedding updates exclusively with PopEater. Get details on the power couple's nuptials after the jump.

"It's going to be a good size wedding with plenty of good food and an open bar," Fisher told Life & Style. "But nothing too overblown. It's still in the planning stages, so a lot of the details haven't been finalized."

Underwood will be handling the finer points of the reception, Fisher admitted. "As you might expect, Carrie's involved in a lot of the details," he said, joking, "I'll just be showing up."

Verizon’s Motorola Devour with Android and MotoBlur officially announced

Motorola has just announced its second Android phone for Verizon (after the Droid): the Motorola Devour, previously known as Motorola Calgary.

Unlike the Droid, the Motorola Devour runs Android 1.6 and features the MotoBlur interface – which “syncs contacts from work and personal e-mail services, including Gmail, with posts, messages, photos and more from popular sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter.”

The Devour has a 3.1 inch HVGA (320 x 480) capacitive touchscreen display and a full QWERTY keyboard.

Twins "bounces up" for 2010

Twins will be holding a two show concert in Hong Kong Coliseum on April 16 and 17. In the last two years, Twins went through a lot, but on Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung's 10th anniversary they will be holding a concert sharing with Fans the growth of their voices. After the concert in 2006, Twins have not had a concert in 5 years, they used "everyone bounces up" as their theme, wanting to prove that Twins can face whatever situation and bounce to a higher level. This time, Twins holding a concert has triggered millions of response. Since their debut, in these 9 years Fans had grew up with them and had already stepped into another stage in life.

The concert is designed by Tomas Chan, the concert poster exposed "Twins" as the theme. Ah Sa and Ah Gil are dressed exactly the same, wearing Rock styled costumes. They also displayed the spirits of Rock and Roll Never Die accommodating their own theme "everyone bounces up", which implies that Twins are bouncing up again in 2010. Concert Ticket sales start today, can be preordered with credit card.

Heidi Montag Speaks on Circus Freak Status

In the wake of her recent plastic surgery binge, Heidi Montag says her mom looked at her like a circus freak. That's really insulting ... to actual circus freaks.

One can understand Darlene Egelhoff's reaction upon seeing her daughter after she was transformed via 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day, however.

An anxious Heidi headed to her hometown of Crested Butte, Colo., to face her mother with The Hills camera crew in tow, and was greeted in abject horror.

Apple patent suggests iPad bezel touch-controls

The broad bezel around the iPad’s touchscreen led some to criticize Apple’s industrial design last week, but judging by a recently published patent the Cupertino company may have plans for that empty expanse. A system whereby capacitive touch sensors are embedded in a tablet or digital photo frame screen bezel is described, linked to various contextual controls shown around the edges of the display. That way, the device can have minimal hardware controls on the fascia, and instead make use of dynamically resizable on-screen controls suited to whatever the current application.

Since another pretty important function of the bezel is to give a user somewhere to grip onto the iPad, Apple’s patent also includes technology to discriminate between input and mere contact. This could either be based on length of touch – if you grab an edge and use it to hold the tablet, after a brief period the iPad ignores that area of contact – or by selectively turning off sections of touch-sensitivity based on the orientation of the iPad.

Sony's Latest PS3 Mistake: No More Downloadable AAA Titles

I just want to take anyone from Sony who's related to the development of the PS3 platform in any way, and shake them until the saboteur witch doctors hired from Nintendo and Microsoft lose their hold.

The latest idea from the Sony braintrust? No more big downloadable titles. So you'll still be able to download little arcade games, but future titles the size of Warhawk will no longer be offered on PSN.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has assembled an impressive library of $20 titles on the 360, and they're intelligently slapping games like, say, Mass Effect on there before Mass Effect 2 comes out. This kind of strategery is good for the game studios, sure, but more importantly, it's convenient for the consumer.

This Is What Firefox on Android Looks Like Right Now

When I first saw this, I was tempted to call fake. I mean, why the hell is a desktop version of Firefox running on Android? What happened to Fennec? But rest assured, this is real—and actually, very encouraging.

Explaining the awkward UI, developer Vladimir Vukićević:

You'll note that this is the full Firefox interface, and not the Fennec/Firefox Mobile UI; we're testing with the full interface because it's significantly more complex than the mobile UI and stresses Gecko much more. So, if the full UI works, then Fennec should work fine as well.

Arrest Imminent for Michael Jackson's Doctor?

Conrad Murray, the doctor who gave Michael Jackson what turned out to be a lethal dose of drugs, is facing an imminent arrest, according to media reports. TMZ is reporting that Murray plans on surrendering on Wednesday morning, while RadarOnline is reporting that Murray has been meeting with his legal team for several days working out the terms of his potential defense if and when the case goes to court.

TMZ reports that Murray will be charged with involuntary manslaughter for the death of Jackson.

Murray was at Jackson's side on June 25, and gave the King of Pop a lethal dose of Propofol -- a powerful anesthetic often used in surgery.

The timeline after that final dose of Propofol is what has caused many to be suspicious of Murray's involvement in Jackson's death. According to police reports, Murray gave Jackson the drug at 10:40, and noticed he had stopped breathing at 11 a.m. However, it wasn't until 12:20 that a 911 call was placed reporting the medical emergency. During that 80 minutes, Murray made three other private phone calls that totaled 47 minutes.
