Paris Hilton Flies Into Rage Over Kim Kardashian

Best Frenemies Forever!

Paris Hilton flew into a rage at Las Vegas hotspot Lavo on August 13 -- when her childhood pal and protegee Kim Kardashian ignored and publicly mocked her, witnesses say in the new Us Weekly.

The icing on the cake? When Hilton, 29, learned that Kardashian, 29, had been flown to the special event via private jet. "Paris got so mad!" a source tells Us. "She could not believe Kim got a jet and she didn't. She used to get the jets."

Later that night, the former Simple Life star -- roundly ignored by other revelers -- was "fuming" when Kardashian commanded attention from the crowd, a guest says.

The feud between the fellow "celebutantes", pals say, has to do with Kardashian's meteoric rise to fame, which has eclipsed Hilton's own star power.

"Paris is upset at Kim -- but it's 100 percent jealousy," a source says of Hilton, who went to pre-school with Kardashian and took her to her first Hollywood parties. "Kim is not only doing what Paris did, she's doing it better, and everyone loves her."

Counters another source: "Kim should thank Paris. Paris gave her her career."

Samsung Galaxy U is now official in South Korea

The specs of the Samsung Galaxy U (SHW-M130L) have leaked just a couple of days ago, and it was clear then that the official announcement of this handset couldn’t be far away.

And indeed it wasn’t. The Samsung Galaxy U got official today for LG’s U+ network in South Korea. Samsung PR would have us believe that the “U” in Galaxy U stands for “Unique grip design”, “Ultimate display”, “Utilitarian apps” and “Ubiquitous features” such as WiFi. However, I think it was simply inspired by the name of the carrier it’s launching on.

Anyway, if you want some U action, you can get it for 800,000 South Korean won (approximately $676) in white or black.

JJ Lin kicks off World Tour 2010 with new song "I Am"

As JJ Lin begins to kick off his World Tour 2010 in Beijing tomorrow, the full version of his tour's theme “I Am” has recently started streaming online. The powerful track, which was shot with a sunlight-infused black-and-white look, marks the latest musical material since his December 2009 album “100 Days”.

For the shoot of his “I Am” MV, half of ton of sand was shipped in to emulate a desert environment. In one scene, the MV director had JJ immersed up to his neck in sand. As the crew was piling sand onto JJ, sand kept blowing into JJ’s eyes and mouth, so crew members had mineral water and eye drops on standby to aid JJ in case he had sand trouble.

Britney Spears looks ten years younger in new ad campaign

Britney Spears may have had her fair share of personal troubles, but she is still one of the music world's most bankable stars.

However even she gets a helping hand to keep her image looking picture perfect in her ad campaigns.

The singer looked rather more flawless than usual in a new set of adverts for he own clothing line.

In fact the heavy handed airbrushing took her back to the early days of her career and she looked practically the same as she did when she was a teen star.

Britney strikes several fun poses in the new advert for her fashion collection, entitled 'Britney For Candie's'

Twilight star Ashley Greene cheers on boyfriend Joe Jonas at softball game

Ashley Greene couldn't stop dancing as she watched her popstar boyfriend Joe Jonas knock 'em out of the park at a softball match yesterday.

The Twilight star, 23, showed some fancy footwork to rival those of her lover's on the pitch when she watched the whole Jonas Brothers' team take on some rivals at Coney Island in New York.

Ashley - who plays Alice Cullen in the hit Twilight movies, the adoptive sister of Robert Pattinson's vampire Edward Cullen - even wore the uniform for the Jonas Brothers' own Road Dog team.

The couple - who were first seen together at the start of this month - were also seen getting cosy in the dug-out at half time, according to reports.

Although they have yet to go official on their burgeoning relationship, witnesses at the match couldn't help Tweeting as they watched the couple get close.

One fan called @daniellealexis Tweeted: 'I’m next to the dugout and Joe and Ashley are ALL over each other. She keeps caressing his cheek.. Hahahaha.'

Samsung Cetus i917 bows for AT&T, shows off its Windows Phone 7 ways

Does the almost Pre-esque shape of this beast look vaguely familiar? It should, because it matches up nicely with the outline of the Samsung Cetus we saw in the FCC a little while back. Indeed, we're told this is the Cetus i917 destined for AT&T, featuring Windows Phone 7 in a glossy, black, curved shell that should fit nicely in those new skinny pants you just overpaid for. We don't know when this is hitting exactly, but we suspect everyone involved -- Microsoft, AT&T, and Samsung -- wants to have this on shelves in time for the holiday season. Hit up the gallery below for a couple more shots.

T-Mobile G2 in the wild!

These shots of a real, live G2 confirm what we'd already suspected from renders: this is basically an Americanized version of the upcoming HTC Vision. What does that mean? Well, it means you can expect a 3.7-inch display paired with Android and a sliding QWERTY keyboard -- higher-end than the myTouch 3G Slide and a fitting successor to the trailblazing G1, if you ask us (though admittedly not quite as geeky as the model it replaces). Follow the break for another shot!

Drew Barrymore steps out with a mystery man hours after red carpet reunion with ex-boyfriend Justin Long

After an emotional reunion on the red carpet with ex-love Justin Long, actress Drew Barrymore was later scene heading out with a mystery man.

Last night following the premiere in London's Leicester Square Drew made a quick outfit change and headed out to private members club Home House with the red-headed man who left the hotel with her.

Dressed down in her more comfortable grungy look, complete with pared down nude make-up the actress headed out for a some post-premiere downtime.

Earlier that evening Barrymore was joined on the blue carpet in Leicester Square by co-star, and on/off boyfriend, Justin Long, who looked smart in a dark grey three piece suit.

And there seemed to be no animosity between the former couple, who hugged and whispered to each other in front of the assembled snappers.

Samsung to name its Android tablet “Galaxy Pad”, 7 and 10 inch versions in the making?

Samsung has reportedly decided on the final name its first Android tablet will have: Samsung Galaxy Pad.

However, according to Korean site MK, this name will be used for certain only in South Korea – in other markets, the tablet may be called something else (maybe Galaxy Tab, as rumored until now).

Apparently, Samsung works on two versions of the tablet: a 7 inch one (seen in the photo below) and a 10 inch one.

As previously reported, the tablet will run Android 2.2 Froyo and feature 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.2MP photo camera, front-facing camera for video calling, and a 1GHz CPU.

Nokia quietly hikes prices for it’s new devices – C6, C5, E5, C3 and N8

Remember those estimated retail prices before taxes and subsidies that Nokia gives us with the announcement of each of their new handset? They sound great, don’t they?

Yep. If only those were the prices that we could get the new Nokia smartphones for. Unfortunately that “before taxes” caveat makes it almost certain that we won’t. Some countries levy customs duties for every handset, which get passed on to consumer, others have various sales taxes that get tacked on the retail price. Here in Europe we pay VAT, which adds from 17 to 25% to the price of almost anything we buy.

So, getting that lowly advertised retail price for a new contract free phone is almost never an option.

But now, it seems Nokia itself has been quietly raising prices across all their new device line-up. Handsets like Nokia C6, C5, C3, E5 and, of course, N8. The price hikes are different for every model and every country, but nevertheless they are there and, in some cases, they are pretty significant, reaching 20% and more for certain models.

LG's Ma promises Optimus tablet 'will be better than the iPad'

There's brave talk, there's foolish talk, and then there's the 5nm line that separates the two. While LG's Chang Ma didn't seem to be dabbling in either during yesterday's Wall Street Journal interview, some subsequent revelations from the financial paper do quote him straying into daring new territory. Having already described the upcoming Optimus tablet as something that will surprise us with its productivity and focus on content creation, LG's Marketing VP (we know, not exactly the CEO) has apparently gone the full way and straight up claimed that "our tablet will be better than the iPad." We'll let you judge on which side of the brave/foolish divide that falls, but it's certainly an indication of searing ambition on LG's part, and should, together with the promise that the US will be "a key market" for the tablet, make pleasant reading for Android slate aficionados.

In Death, Nexus One Does What It Couldn’t Do In Life: Sell

Remember when Google killed the Nexus One a month ago? Yeah, it’s still sold in a few places here and there, but it’s mostly dead. And apparently it had to die in order to find its heaven: Android app developers.

A new post tonight on the Android Developers Blog declares that the now-for-developers-only Nexus One has proven to be “a little too popular.” As Tim Bray writes, “we blew through the (substantial) initial inventory in almost no time, and they’re back-ordered from HTC.” In other words, they’re now completely sold out.

To be clear, Google is selling unlocked versions of the Nexus Ones to registered developers through a publisher page in the Android market. What’s odd is that though they didn’t say so in their very brief post announcing the Nexus One’s death, the assumption is that they were killing it off because it wasn’t selling well. In fact, CNN had them just over 100,000 units in the same time that other phones like the iPhone and another Android-powered phone, Droid, had sold a million units.

Steady Ah Sa X Optimistic Joey's Sisterhood

So-called peers in the same profession, together striving for even more common ground, Joey Yung and Charlene Choi should be trying to outwit one another. However, being influenced by the showbiz lifestyle, they have been drawn closer to one another. Although Joey and Ah Sa are both signed to EEG, together for 10 years, their paths they have each taken are distinct from one another. Debuting for 11 years, Joey has mastered her singing career, a colourful and gorgeous stage is the ideal base, stylish and mature has been her path. Meanwhile, Ah Sa and Twins make up a dream young girl impression, polar opposites from Joey. With Ah Sa's solo development and growth underneath a hot spotlight, she has nurtured the big screen movie dream.

Gemini Joey's personality is cheerful and straightforward, encountering an expert mysterious Scorpio Ah Sa, Joey admits: "Don't look at Ah Sa's cute appearance, actually her thinking is extremely mature and sophisticated, the way she conducts herself is very sure and steady, her EQ is very high. We chat openly a lot, but she can be somewhat mysterious, give her personal space, but everyone's in the same line of work, it's very understandable!" Ah Sa's character has not scared off Joey, even though their characters are different, what they both have innately in common: shopping. Joey said: "Ah Sa doesn't like to tell everyone everywhere what she recently likes, what she wants to buy, and it's rare that she can't purchase something she wants to buy. So buying presents for her to be happy can difficult. This requires patience, I've tried to guess a little bit of her fashion taste, but I'm not often fast enough, what I guess she's already bought. So I pulled a tricky move as a last resort, I went to Ah Sa's clothing store and asked the store assistant, is there anything Ah Sa has recently kept but has not paid money to buy yet? If there is, I will right away find a few and give to her as a present, I definitely won't buy wrong, it'll definitely be the right heartfelt intention!"

Big Bang is set for Korean comeback October~November

Group Big Bang is set for comeback the later half of this year.

It is revealed that the earliest they will have their comeback in Korea is in October. They are set to released their 2nd album 2 years after their last album released in November 2008 with title song ‘Sunset Glow’.

YG Entertainment told MTStarNews on 20th August, “Big Bang will be releasing their new album coming October~November. We are looking at a full length album release.”

The YG rep also added, “Until now Big Bang member GDragon has participated in a way or another in the production of their albums. But for this Korean album, all the songs are produced by GDragon. This is the reason why it took so long to release this album.”

Jennifer Aniston Says Retard on TV

Jennifer Aniston's mouth has landed her back in another media storm.

This time the former Friends star stuck her foot in it by referring to herself as a 'retard' on U.S. chat show Live with Regis and Kelly.

The Switch actress, 41, was discussing her Harper's Bazaar photo shoot in which she posed as Barbra Streisand when she seemed to absently let the offensive term slip.

Replying to a question from co-host Regis Philbin on Thursday's programme, Aniston said: 'Yes, I play dress up! I do it for a living, like a retard!'

While the studio audience laughed at the self-deprecating sentiment and the show went on without comment, a storm was brewing outside the television studio.

Peter Berns, CEO of The Arc (a non-profit advocate for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities), told Us Magazine it was 'extraordinarily offensive and inappropriate'.

He added: 'Frankly, someone in her position ought to know better.'

Aniston has joined a list of celebrities - from conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh to shock-jock Howard Stern - who have taken heat for using the derogatory term which is surprisingly common in American vocabulary.

'Expendables' likely to dominate weak group of new releases

It’s definitely the dog days of summer. The studios are releasing a handful of leftover product this weekend, none of which is likely to outgross either of last weekend’s top earners: The Expendables or Eat Pray Love. And with so many of the films unlikely to earn much more than $10 million, it will be one underwhelming weekend at the movies. Read on for my predictions.

1. The Expendables: $15 million

Sylvester Stallone’s action mash-up has earned over $45 million since it bowed last weekend. There is sure to be a big fall-off for the R-rated flick this weekend, but with more of the movie-going public interested in this than Eat Pray Love, it’s likely to win the weekend again. I would guess at least a 55 percent drop off, and since this film is likely to kill it overseas, an $82 million budget doesn’t seem like such a bad investment.

2. Eat Pray Love: $13 million

This Julia Roberts-starrer has earned $32 million since it opened on Friday, and I would expect it to drop at least 45 percent its second weekend in theaters. Its appeal is truly just women over 25, and I think with mixed reviews they may not be coming back all that fast for the film’s sophomore session.

Dell Thunder prototype preview (video)

Christmas came early at Engadget HQ this year, as evidenced by the picture above -- you're looking at two Dell Thunder prototype smartphones, each with some surprising quirks, and hints that they might include global HSPA, AWS for the likes of T-Mobile, and maybe even a dash of CDMA support. We'll warn you ahead of time that these are labeled EVT1 for "engineering verification test" and date back to the April leak, so they're about as early as you can get -- don't expect the final handset to arrive without some significant differences. Good? Then peek the gallery below, hit the break, and let's get on with the show.

Droid Pro is the global version of the Droid 2, LG enV Touch 2 will be Android-powered

We've learned from a source close to the situation that the rumored global version of the Droid 2 with GSM and CDMA radios is actually the same phone as the also-rumored Droid Pro -- although Verizon apparently has a tendency to fiddle with branding right up until the last minute, so the retail name could still change. It's identical to the current Droid 2 in every way except for the fact that it houses a GSM / HSPA radio for global roaming, though we're not able to confirm previous rumors that it'll be available in a white version; presumably, you'll pay a bit more than the Droid 2's $200 on contract for the privilege of being able to take your buddy overseas. Barring any last-minute delays, we should see it launch within weeks.

If you're sick and tired of Motorolas, let's switch gears a bit and talk about the follow-up to LG's enV Touch. Interestingly, LG will be switching from a proprietary featurephone platform to Android for this one -- called the enV Touch 2 -- and will give it dual touchscreens: one on the outside, and another on the inside for when you flip open the clamshell. As you might expect for an enV-branded device, there's also a full QWERTY keyboard. It's currently running Android 2.1, though it's not clear whether that'll be upgraded to 2.2 by the time we see a release toward the holidays. It's said to be pretty big and heavy, which could be a disadvantage for some -- but on the flipside, it's apparently a global device, so that's a plus. enVs historically haven't been the most exciting things in Verizon's stable, but we'll admit, we're curious to see this one get fleshed out.

Jolin covers up her lower body in new MV

Jolin Tsai is back with her third music video, “Nothing Left To Say” (無言以對). For the MV, Jolin tries out a new style by wearing a long skirt that keeps her covered from the waist down. She giggles, “Maybe after going to my (older) sister’s wedding, I fell in love with long skirts, so that’s why I decided to try it out for this MV. I think it’s quite pretty.” However, Jolin never disappoints as she wears a top that doesn't quite cover the top nor the bottom.

From her photo album shoot to her last MV, “Love’s Pupil”, Jolin could not escape the fate of being soaked in water. Even the staff jokes and says to jolin that her album will definitely sell well with the touch of water. In “Nothing Left To Say”, she leans beside a tub full of water and expresses her emotions not by voguing, but by fiercely splashing water.

SNSD reveals teaser for Japanese version of Genie

The 9 ladies of SNSD have a busy schedule in the coming days, starting off fresh with 3 different showcases in one day, and that in itself is crazy! However, fans have also been anxiously awaiting news on their Japanese music.

Wait no longer, Universal Music Japan recently uploaded the music video teaser for Tell Me Your Wish (Genie), and the setting has definitely changed from their ever so popular military outfits to a carnival-like theme.

SM Entertainment also made use of flow-mo technology once again, as seen in music videos for BoA and SHINee, making the visual effects more enticing.

Check out the 33 seconds of pure eye candy below, and stay tuned for the full release.

'Dragon Tattoo' star for Best Actress?

It’s about to top the $10 million mark in domestic grosses. Now can The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo pull off another coup: an Oscar nomination for Best Actress? Nikki Finke over at Deadline.com had an interesting report yesterday about how the U.S. distributor of the Swedish film is laying the groundwork for an Academy campaign for star Noomi Rapace. I’m also hearing that Rapace, who’s in Los Angeles right now, is taking a meeting with a personal publicist who guided a recent Best Actress winner to her victory.

With all the hype over Stieg Larson’s books and the upcoming English-language remake of Dragon Tattoo, Rapace’s team is certainly smart to strike while the iron is hot. But she’s got tough competition for a nomination. The Kids Are All Right‘s Annette Bening and Julianne Moore are all but assured two of the five slots, while Blue Valentine‘s Michelle Williams, Love and Other Drugs‘ Anne Hathaway, Another Year‘s Lesley Manville, Black Swan‘s Natalie Portman, and Winter’s Bone‘s Jennifer Lawrence are all strong contenders as well. Can Rapace be this year’s Marion Cotillard? Stranger things have happened in Oscarland, but she’s got a long way to go.

Miranda Kerr Confirms She's "Four Months" Pregnant

Three weeks after Us Weekly reported that Miranda Kerr is expecting her first child with her husband Orlando Bloom, the Victoria's Secret model has confirmed the news in the September issue of Spanish Vogue.

"Yes, I'm pregnant. Four months along," Kerr, 27, tells the mag (via The Daily Mail).

The normally tight-lipped supermodel -- who wed Bloom in a quiet ceremony in July -- recently opened up about her nuptials in Sydney's Morning Herald.

"It was exactly what we both hoped for and it turned out as planned in every way," she gushed. "We always intended for the wedding to be a private and intimate occasion and we haven't shared any details as it is something we'd like to keep as our special secret."

And as she and Bloom, 33, anxiously await the arrival of their first child, Kerr says she's already planning to continue modeling after the baby is born.

"I've always been open about wanting to be a mother one day, and I've always thought Orlando would be a great dad," Kerr said. "I think having children and pregnancy is a part of life, I look at how models like Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio have done it and made it a part of their lives."

“American Idol” Lee DeWyze Album Release Nov. 16

American Idol winner Lee DeWyze will release his still-untitled debut album on Nov. 16.

“I’ve been very fortunate to be able to collaborate with some amazing songwriters on new songs over the past 3 months,” Lee said in a press release announcing the album’s release date on Thursday. “I can’t wait for everyone to hear my debut album.”

Will fans be treated to any collaborations between Lee and some of today’s other burgeoning young stars? For now, DeWyze is keeping that information under his hat.

Apple Tests iOS 4.1 On Mysterious New Gadget

Apple is testing iOS 4.1 in the next-generation iPod touch, the iPad and a mysterious new product. The secret product is listed as ID 20547 and "Unknown" in the new version of the operating system, which will appear this fall.

There are no hints of the technical features of this device. It may be the rumored Apple TV or something completely different.

Flash Player 10.1: This Video is Not Optimized for Mobile

Whether or not you’ve been following the whole Apple and Adobe firefight that’s been happening over the last couple of years (but more loudly ever since the launch of the iPad), if you have a smartphone that can browse the web, you’ve probably been either waiting patiently for Flash to get out of its diapers and give you the full experience you’ve been aching for, or you simply just haven’t cared enough to give it a second thought. Well, now that Android 2.2 has officially “launched” on a device (the Motorola Droid 2), and that means Flash Player 10.1 has officially been “launched,” the tests have begun. And, sadly, if you’re part of the camp that’s been waiting for the full experience of the web on your mobile phone, you might have to keep waiting.

Laptop Mag took the Droid 2 from Motorola, which utilizes Verizon’s network, for a spin. As we mentioned above, it’s the first device to actually launch with Flash Player 10.1. While the Nexus One has had access to it through many Beta versions, this is the device that’s got it on the box, so to speak (and literally). So, with that being said, they wanted to try the device, and make sure that the online experience, both surfing the Internet and experiencing games and videos, was as top-notch as it should have been. Or, more specifically, as good as Adobe says it is. Truth be told, it can all be summed up in just a few sentences:

“I’m the last person on Earth who wanted to believe Steve Jobs when he told Walt Mossberg at D8 that “Flash has had its day. I’m sad to admit that Steve Jobs was right. Adobe’s offering seems like it’s too little, too late.”

HP confirms webOS tablet for 'early 2011'

We'd heard HP's Todd Bradley had confidentially told employees that a webOS tablet would arrive in Q1 2011, but now the man's gone on the record in the company's Q3 2010 earnings call. "You'll see us with a Microsoft product out in the near future and a webOS-based product in early 2011," he told investors and analysts in response to a direct question about tablets this afternoon, adding that potential slates were part of the reason HP bought Palm in the first place. Now, we're not financial experts, but we've heard it's typically a good idea not to promise things to your shareholders if you don't intend to deliver. In other words, there's a good bet the PalmPad is actually not an imaginary friend our subconscious created after Mark Hurd's hateful words in June.

Fahrenheit's new album cover is too hot to handle

Fahrenheit is feeling the summer heat and they’re cooling themselves by stripping down to their tank tops in a land of icebergs. This badly photoshopped picture is the cover for their upcoming album, “Too Hot”, which will be available for pre-order starting on September 1st.

To display their Fahrenheit icy-hotness, each member has been working out to tone their muscles before the photo shoot. Calvin Chen says that he has quit his habit of eating midnight snacks and does sit-ups and push-ups on a regular basis. Jiro Wang reveals that he works out and swims. Aaron Yan has been jogging for 30 minutes and doing weights every day. Wu Chun, who is already buff enough, has gotten a tan instead.

"Gumiho" becomes most-watched show in China

New Korean drama "My Girlfriend is Gumiho" starring Korea's most popular stars Lee Seung-gi and Shin Min-ah has become the most-watched show in China, according to the show's promoter IM Company on Thursday.

IM announced in a press release that the first two episodes of SBS series "Gumiho," which premiered locally on August 11, became the top show on China's PPS netTV [online TV streaming website] and on SOHU news.

The new Korean drama beat out a Japanese drama which was the previous No. 1 show on the website.

"Gumiho," a fantasy love story, is about Miho (played by Shin) who is a gumiho, a nine tailed fox that feeds on human livers, who was unleashed by Cha (played by Lee) after being imprisoned for 500 years.

The show was written by sisters Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mir-ran who previously wrote hit dramas "Minamishineyo" (SBS, 2009) and "Hong Gil-dong" (KBS, 2008).

It currently airs on the primetime slot on Wednesday and Thursday nights during the same hour as KBS' "Bread, Love and Dreams" and MBC's "Road No. 1."

Fans Expose Robsten's Posh L.A. Love Nest

As we've told you, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have been shacking up together in Rob's rented five-bedroom, five-bath home (that Stewart helped pick out) whenever the two are in Los Angeles. And that's apparently straight where they went after they landed at LAX Tuesday!

Here are some peeks of the gated abode with a guest house, and no we did not take them. (They were on the original listing from earlier this summer.)

The listing boasted how perfect the "one kind of hideaway" is for those desiring "privacy and serenity," but unfortunately, that's not exactly the case...

I'm ready to roll! Shakira skates around Barcelona while shooting new music video

Pop star Shakira took a spin around Barcelona on a pair of roller-skates today while filming scenes for a new video clip.

Dressed in a bikini top, summer skirt and vest, the Hips Don't Lie star cruised around the beach foreshore on her set of wheels.

The 33-year-old wore protective knee-pads as well as a pair of old school headphones and at one point stopped to touch up her own make-up.

Later she slipped on a pair of leather pants and playfully splashed around in a fountain before going for a spin on the back of a motorcycle.

It has emerged that the Columbian singer is working on a duet with British rapper Dizzee Rascal.

Mariah Carey Still an Option for American Idol

American Idol could end up glittering next season after all.

Mariah Carey is still in negotiations to sign on as a judge, a source exclusively tells E! News.

"She wants it," says the source. "She's seen what America's Got Talent has done for [hubby Nick Cannon] and thinks it will be a good career move."

When contacted Thursday evening for comment, a rep for Carey didn't confirm or deny, responding only that there is "nothing to report."

Several sticking points remain, but we hear that Fox is optimistic that they will make a deal with Carey.

The network did not return a request for comment.

The source familiar with negotiations adds that the show's deal with Steven Tyler is "all but a done deal" and an announcement will be made after the entire judges table is filled.

Working PlayStation 3 Modchip Is 'Not A Hoax,' Australian Retailer Says

An Australian seller of Wii, PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 modchips has posted video showing the famously impregnable PlayStation 3 running "back-up" copies of disc games saved in the hacked console. It's the real deal, they tell Kotaku.

OzModChips.com has posted three videos to YouTube showing the alleged hack, marketed as PS Jailbreak, which purportedly is executed by plugging a $170 (Australian) USB stick into the PlayStation 3. The legality of console modchips differ by region. They are not legal in the U.S.

Such a hack would enable PS3 users to run back-up copies of games, homebrew and, of course, pirated games, something which Sony has long successfully blocked on its home console.

HP reports $30.7 billion revenue, up 11 percent

Hewlett-Packard was right where Wall Street expected when it reported third-quarter revenue of $30.7 billion Thursday.

That figure is an increase of 11.4 percent from the same quarter a year ago. The PC maker also reported net earnings of $1.8 billion, or 75 cents per share, excluding costs related to a legal settlement and taxes.

That's exactly what HP said it would report when it previewed its third-quarter earnings earlier this month--the same day it announced CEO Mark Hurd was resigning. Wall Street was looking for revenue between $29.7 billion and $30.7 billion.

In a statement, Chief Financial Officer and interim CEO Cathie Lesjak said the financial results "demonstrate the power of our strategy and the discipline of our execution."

That follows the company's--and Lesjak's--same message since Hurd resigned following an accusation against him and eventual settlement with a former contractor over sexual harassment. Thursday was the first earnings report following Hurd's exit, and Lesjak made a point of emphasizing that the company will continue along the same path it's been on for the last several years even without the former CEO.

If you thought she was airbrushed last time...unrecognisable Scarlett Johansson goes from lady to vamp in new D&G campaign

Scarlett Johansson may be have been blessed with stunning looks but clearly when it comes to selling cosmetics, there is no such thing as natural beauty.

And it looks as though after digging up last year's campaign, D&G bosses decided to adopt the more is more attitude to airbrushing.

Scarlett, the face of the Italian fashion label, has been subjected to heavy retouching for the new beauty collection ad, as her Gothic purple lips and smoky eye make-up render her almost unrecognisable.

The new sell forms a stark contrast to last year's Marilyn Monroe-inspired shoot, where an angelic Scarlett shows off red lips in a white corset, posing against white satin sheets.

This year, the Vicky Christina Barcelona star goes over to the dark side in sexy black underwear set against a leopard print backdrop.

RIM’s BlackPad won’t run BlackBerry OS

Now this is odd. When you think of RIM, you instantly think of BlackBerry. And when you think of BlackBerry, right after you think of QWERTY keyboards and whatnot, you think of BlackBerry OS.

Now at version 6, this is what has been powering RIM’s devices since the beginning.

When we first heard about RIM’s upcoming tablet, which is apparently going to be called BlackPad, naturally everyone assumed that it will run BlackBerry OS 6.

Not so, it seems. The BlackPad will run software designed by QNX.

Who, you ask? QNX Software Systems is a company that RIM bought from Harman International Industries Inc. for a cool $200 million back in April.

Their software platforms are used by an interesting mix of companies, such as BMW, Porsche, Cisco, GE, Caterpillar, and even power an unmanned tank developed by Carnegie Mellon University’s National Robotics Engineering Center.

Taeyang unveils I’ll Be There MV!

Big Bang’s Taeyang dropped his new single I’ll Be There just yesterday and now we get to see the MV for it!

Golden girl Julia Roberts turns on the charm in kimono-style dress for Tokyo premiere of her new film

After failing to set box offices alight in the Western world with her new film, Julia Roberts will be hoping for a better reception in the Far East.

So to possibly try to butter up her Japanese fan base, she took inspiration from the country's traditional dress.

The actress arrived at the premiere of her latest film Eat, Pray, Love in Tokyo today in a kimono-style gold dress.

It showed off her tall, willowy figure as she took to the stage at the Roppongi Hills Arena to talk to press and fans who had gathered there to see her.

Julia, 42, and husband Daniel Moder, 41, flew into Narita Airport on a private jet yesterday and they plan to spend a few days exploring the country.

And despite a film career that has spanned two decades, this is her first ever visit to Japan.

Jonas Brothers & Demi Lovato's Surprise Romantic Duet at Camp Rock 2 Premiere

The movie was enough of a treat, but the lucky Jonas Brothers fans who attended the Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam premiere in New York Wednesday got a whole lot more than that.

Following the screening at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato emerged for a surprise performance of the romantic duet "Wouldn't Change a Thing," from the movie's soundtrack, with Joe's brothers Kevin and Nick playing backup.

The impromptu concert was a hit, judging by the number of girls in the audience shrieking at the top of their lungs.

Earlier in the event, on the red carpet, Lovato talked about how it's been working with Joe Jonas since their breakup in May. "We've obviously had our ups and downs, but no matter what, we'll be best friends for a long time," she told PEOPLE.

Firefox 4 beta 4 adds hardware acceleration

Mozilla hopes to release its fourth beta of Firefox 4 on Monday, adding hardware-accelerated graphics for some Windows users but leaving it turned off by default.

Also coming is a major user interface change called tab sets, formerly known as tab candy.

Hardware acceleration, coming to all the major browsers in various forms, is designed to shift some tasks from a computer's main processor to its graphics processor. One way Firefox is tackling the technology is by using Windows' Direct2D interface, which can speed up the display of text and graphics on newer versions of Windows.

Mozilla planners had hoped to enable Direct2D in the fourth beta, but decided caution was appropriate. "b4 won't have D2D on by default after all; just not quite ready to send it to that many users. soon!" tweeted Mike Shaver, Mozilla's vice president of engineering.

The Firefox 4 beta 4 code is frozen for finalization, putting the "release target as next Monday, Aug. 23," according to Mozilla meeting notes.

Firefox 4 is designed to be faster and better so Mozilla's browser can compete better as Google Chrome matures and as Microsoft's Internet Explorer reverses its usage-share slide and gets a major overhaul. Faster display is crucial in the performance race.

Miss yesterday’s $99 Vibrant deal? How about a penny?

Yesterday, T-Mobile had a one-day sale on the Samsung Vibrant; pricing the unit at $100-off the usual $199 for 2-year contract signers. Today, AmazonWireless has the device for one shiny penny. The terms of the deal look like this:

When you purchase your device with service from AmazonWireless.com, we automatically pass along an instant discount from the carrier to you. This discount has been provided to you based on your agreement to (a) activate a new, or extend an existing, line of service for this device with the carrier, and (b) maintain this service in good standing for a minimum of 181 consecutive days. If you do not activate or extend a line of service in connection with this device, or if your service is canceled/disconnected before 181 consecutive days, AmazonWireless.com will charge you $250 per device, plus applicable taxes.

So, if you were on the fence about $199, and still on the fence about $99, how do you feel about $0.01?

Leehom Wang: “I Am Currently in Love…”

Leehom Wang appeared on Taiwanese talk show, < SS小燕之夜> and said that he preferred women with a natural style who do not give him pressure. He did not like women who wear a lot of gold or silver jewelry. The program host, Chang Hsiao Yen, noted that Leehom appears to prefer mature women. Leehom thought for a moment and said, “From my past love relationships, that seems to be true.”

Leehom’s statement re-directed fans’ attention towards his past rumored girlfriends, Amei Chang Hui Mei (who is four years older than Leehom) and Shu Qi (who is one month older). Due to his preference for older women, Leehom is able to share his life experiences with a partner [who is of equal maturity].

In Leehom’s directorial debut, Love in Disguise <恋爱通告>, the media pointed out that he took a gamble in casting young actress, Crystal Liu Yifei. Leehom smiled, “I quite admire Crystal . She has a unique style. Although she is only 22 years old, but her acting possesses a certain strength.” Leehom did not deny the fact that when Crystal was selected as the female lead in Love in Disguise, the film company owners and investors were doubtful and gave him pressure.

What will come after Android Gingerbread? Honeycomb, of course

It’s a well known fact that Google likes the alphabet and sweets for its Android versions’ codenames. Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, and the upcoming Gingerbread are proof enough.

Sure, there were a few misses (wasn’t Android 2.0 supposed to be Eclair? Also, what ever happened to Flan?), but generally the rule is clear. Each new version takes us to the next letter of the alphabet, while keeping the deserts theme.

So it was expected for the version of Android that’s to come after 3.0 Gingerbread to start with the letter H.

And the exact name seems to have been revealed: Honeycomb.

There’s absolutely no more information, but speculation has started that this may be just an incremental update, a 3.1 or 3.2 and not Android 4.0. Judging from Google’s recent release cycle, and their previous claims that they will be slowing it down, expect it to be finished near the end of Q2 2011.

BlackBerry Bold R9020 with OS 6 to come in October

Now that RIM has introduced the BlackBerry Torch 9800 and the Curve 3G 9300, it’s probably about time for a refresh of the Bold series.

Meet the BlackBerry Bold R020 – the R020 part is so unlike RIM that I’m thinking the final and official name can’t be this one. Anyway. Those hoping for the new Bold to bring many novelties will probably be disappointed, because there isn’t much that’s changed.

The BlackBerry Bold R020 looks just like the 9700, but it will, of course, run BlackBerry 6 (not that the 9700 won’t be updated to the new OS, too). It will also have a 5MP autofocus camera, and more RAM (512MB), the rest of its features being identical to the features of the old Bold.

Gillian ready to move on with ‘mature-minded man’

Gillian Chung is ready to love again, having moved on from a sex scandal that almost destroyed her career.

“I’ve grown up, so it’s only natural to want to try different things,” the 29-year-old Hong Kong artiste told The Star.

Her fans are standing by her, too.

About 40 of them from her fan club braved the rain outside a restaurant at a shopping mall here for about two hours just to catch a glimpse of her.

The fresh-faced beauty made their wait worthwhile when she treated them to a rendition of Long Fa Siong Tek Yan (Riding on a Wave) – the latest single on her new EP (demo) album which is set for an October release.
