Rude girl Rihanna squeezes into VERY revealing PVC body on first night of UK tour

Rihanna wowed fans as she kicked off her UK tour in Birmingham last night, despite being over an hour late.

The 22-year-old star finally made it on to the stage at the LG Arena more than an hour after she was expected to start the show.

But at least Rihanna had a good excuse for being late - she is said to have spent the time searching for a makeup mirror in her dressing room.

Sexy Cyrus: The "Can't Be Tamed" Album Cover

In case you haven't heard, Miley Cyrus can't be tamed.

Seriously. She's like some sort of sex-crazed peacock that people want to cage, but who wants to be part of something she doesn't know - and if you try to hold her down, she might explode.

At least that's what Miley sings in her latest single, "Can't Be Tamed." The lyrics are explicit and self-serving, while the video has stirred up controversy because it's clear Cyrus has left her Hannah Montana persona behind. Way, way behind.

Comparatively, the album cover for this June 22 release is actually quite tame, and laughable. Miley looks like she's trying WAY too hard to appear seductive, doesn't she?

webOS-based HP Hurricane tablet rumored for Q3

Shortly after announcing a blockbuster deal to acquire Palm, HP confessed that it would be "doubling down on webOS," with near-term plans to "scale it across multiple connected devices." We took the liberty at that point to assume this meant that a larger webOS-based device was at least sitting around in the rear of someone's mind, and now it sounds as if Palm loyalists may actually have something tangible to look forward to. According to an unsubstantiated report over at the Examiner, an "insider at HP" has informed the site that "a webOS tablet under the code name HP Hurricane could be released the third quarter of this year." This all lines up well with what we've heard over the past few weeks: HP pledged to take webOS to places it has never been, strong whispers emerged that the HP Slate was being shelved, and now, people close to the HP camp have given a name to a purported webOS tablet slated for Q3. There's obviously no telling if this is simply hot air being blown, but we wouldn't be shocked to see HP nail down a webOS slate in time for the sure-to-be-rockin' 2010 holiday buying season. Or maybe we're just crossing our fingers, humming aloud and praying to our lucky stars that this all pans out.

Apple developing a Flash alternative

The heated battle between Apple and Adobe Systems over Flash may get a bit more interesting, as reports of a Flash alternative being developed by Apple begin to surface.

The technology, called Gianduia, was introduced by Apple last summer at its World of WebObjects Developer Conference, according to an AppleInsider report. Gianduia is described as being "a client-side, standards-based framework for rich Internet apps."

Apple has apparently been using Gianduia in several of its retail support applications, including services such as the One to One program, the iPhone reservation system, and the Concierge program for Genius Bar and Personal Shopping reservations.

The use of a standards-based technology makes sense for Apple, considering its position on Flash. Apple has made it very clear that it opted to support HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS instead of Flash.

Jay Chou super diao vampire, ten million for new MV, album launch delayed

Jay Chou, who has always gone after diao stuff, has again done something diao. For his second plugged song "The Era" he has splashed out ten million yuan to film the MV, he has set the record for the most expensive MV production for Chinese people. For just the specially made piano with inverted black and white keys, it cost a million yuan, he said: "Normally werewolves transform because of the moon, in my MV vampires transform because they hear the sound of piano, the sound of piano eliminates their humanity."

The idea for this song and the completion of it has spanned time. When he was filming the MV for "Uncle Joker" in 2008, he was the director, he got a feeling from the clock tower on the set, he had the impulse to write a song and film an MV, he immediately took his dance teacher and drove from Linkou to Sanchong where the arranger lived, he wrote the song in his head down, the dance teacher also arranged the choreography, they then went back to the set to film, he spent just 2.5 hours.

His new album "The Era" was originally planned to be released on the 14th of May, yesterday it was announced it would be delayed until 18th, the delay is due to the large order from Mainland China, the factories cannot keep up, plus they want to guard against piracy.

"Iron Man 2" Sees Solid Friday Debut of $52.4 ; Will you see it in 3D?

Marvel Studio's "Iron Man 2" soared to the top of domestic box office charts with an estimated $52.4 million in ticket sales from its first day in release on Friday.

That kick-started Hollywood's summer box office season in auspicious style in the United States and Canada, but quickly muted any further talk of a possible record-breaking weekend for the Robert Downey Jr. star vehicle.

July 2008's debut of "The Dark Knight" from Warner Bros. holds the opening-weekend record of $158.1 million, while Paramount-distributed "Iron Man 2" looks likely to land in the $125 million-$135 million range through Sunday.

The Friday tally for "Iron Man 2" -- featuring a $4.1 million contribution from 181 Imax venues -- included $7.5 million in midnight Thursday receipts.

The film unspooled earlier in international markets and has totaled $200 million in cumulative worldwide ticket sales. The sequel to May 2008's "Iron Man" cost at least $170 million to produce, with Marvel laying out roughly $75 million in additional marketing expenses.

Reviews have been mostly positive, if less than rapturous, potentially helping to sustain weekend momentum for "Iron Man 2" through the Mother's Day holiday in the United States on Sunday.

Five Idol Replacements for Simon Who'd Be Better Than Howard Stern

To be honest, Howard Stern's honesty makes him the ideal replacement for Simon Cowell on American Idol.

But since Stern's never going to find a job that's more perfect for him than the one he's got, he's not going to make it happen.

And so what? We've come up with five stars who'd be better than Stern in Cowell's chair because they'd be good, and, hey, novel idea, they might take the gig.

Meizu M9 getting Android 2.1, possible August release?

Well, what do you know -- perhaps there is an M9 in your future (or someone's future) after all! After hearing the one and only Jack Wong detail the thing earlier this year, Beareyes.com is reporting that the device -- with the same 3.6-inch display, 1 GHz (Samsung S5PC110) CPU, HDMI 1.3 out and more -- may be out as early as this August. We think this is certainly do-able, although anything can happen -- as the drawn-out gestation of a certain Meizu M8 made painfully clear. The new news? Rather than KIRFin' up an Apple-esque interface, it looks like Android 2.1 might just be on tap. Sweet, eh? Look for it August 18, for around $350 depending on options... but don't be surprised if you're still looking long past the target date.

Lenovo LePhone unboxed, exhaustively reviewed ahead of launch in China

We're not sure how we missed this one, but it's better late than never -- turns out some lucky jerks in China were given a Lenovo LePhone to play with back in mid-April, and the guys at Sooyuu have just finished the fifth and final part of their lengthy review, just in time for the May launch. We weren't expecting any changes since our last encounter at CES, but apparently the 3.7-inch screen's now been upgraded from LCD to AMOLED, and like the Palm Pre, the LePhone also sports a gesture area below the screen. Of course, there's also the never-before-seen packaging that we totally dig, not to mention the bundled goodies such as a leather case, a noise-isolation handsfree kit (but sans music and volume control), plus a magnetic dock adapter. As for software, the reviewer praises Lenovo's snappy, heavily customized Android with its vast Chinese social networking service integration, music store, video apps, and an impressive Chinese turn-by-turn navigation suite. We almost want to adopt this baby, only to be let down by its 3.2-megapixel camera's mediocre quality, lack of flash, and inability to autofocus. Anyhow, you can be the final judge -- head over to Sooyuu for plenty more pictures.

'Iron Man 2' solid on Friday with $51 Mil

It’s not looking like a record-breaker but Iron Man 2 is still destined for a pretty fantastic weekend. Early reports indicate the Robert Downey Jr.-starrer pulled in over $51 million Friday in its 4,380 locations. (That includes the $7.5 million earned from its midnight shows.) The number far surpasses the $38 million earned on Iron Man’s opening day two years ago, but falls beneath The Dark Knight which opened to $67 million, also in 2008. Even though Paramount Pictures released the movie, Iron Man 2 marks the first film to be released from Marvel Entertainment since Disney purchased the comic book company at the beginning of the year. And audiences love it: The movie has so far earned an A from Cinemascore, meaning it should hold in well for some time.

As for the rest of the top five, the steep drops we predicted are coming true. Nightmare on Elm Street fell a staggering 79% since last Friday night with an over $3 million day, which puts it in place for a weekend take of under $10 million. How to Train Your Dragon is likely to take its greatest fall since opening seven weeks ago. Earning less around $1.5 million on Friday, the movie is likely to fall around 40% for the weekend to something around $6.5 million but will still crack $200 million. Date Night is still holding in decently, grossing an estimated $1.5 million Friday, the film should fall another 31% for the weekend, putting its total gross over $80 million. The fifth spot will go to The Back-Up Plan which is likely to fall another 37% for the weekend. The film earned an estimated $1.4 million on Friday and should near $30 million by the end of the weekend.

HP TouchSmart tm2 getting Core i3 and i5 this summer?

This is just a rumor at this point, but it's definitely one we'd file in the believable column. According to NewGadgets.de, HP's planning to update its 12.1-inch tm2 convertible tablet with Core i3 and i5 processors in June. Considering we've heard that Intel will be releasing its Core i5 ULV processors around then, this certainly makes sense --- after all, we'd expect HP to swap out the current Core 2 Duo ULV processors for something more powerful, yet power efficient. Time will tell if the new chips make it into the multitouch laptop, but it's good to know that HP's still working on at least some sort of Windows 7 tablet.

SM Entertainment vs TVXQ Trio in court

The hearing for SM Entertainment’s lawsuit against TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki members Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun and Xiah Junsu (Jaechunsu) took place earlier today.

SM Entertainment representatives opened up by stating that the treatment of TVXQ isn’t bad, their contracts are fair if you compare them to other agencies in Korea. They also reiterated the fact that the main issue here isn’t about TVXQ’s division of income. SM representatives also pondered on why the trio signed a separate contract with Japan’s AVEX Entertainment. Representatives of JaeChunSu countered by arguing that both the division of income and length of the contract is unjust.

Louis Koo and Daniel Wu Film “Triple Tap”

Directed by Derek Yee, Triple Tap "枪王之王", stars Louis Koo Tin Lok and Daniel Wu Yiu Cho as shooting experts. Louis and Daniel endured the strenuous filming demands during a scene where they compete in shooting sports to win the title of “Champion Shooter.”

Focusing on the actual speed of firing the bullets and the accuracy of the shooting requirements, Louis had to concentrate intensely. He also needed to have a good understanding of his physical abilities. “Although possessing the correct technique and confidence were important, having the right intuition was also required. While trying to look cool in holding a gun and providing the best camera angles, it was inevitable that I got hurt. In one scene, I had to lay on the sand while firing repeatedly. My elbow got scraped by the sand. In the last shot, I sprained [my arm].”
