David Archuleta Memoir Planned, Single Leaked

Some time during season nine, Adam Lambert will perform on American Idol.

It's safe to assume David Archuleta will, as well.

We can make this assumption because the former runner-up is releasing a memoir on May 4. It's titled "Chords of Strength" and here are a few snippets about it, courtesy of Amazon.com:

David Archuleta was named one of the "breakout stars of 2008" by Forbes magazine and landed the number two spot on the Billboard charts.

In Chords of Strength, David shares his unexpected and inspiring journey, including how he overcame vocal cord paralysis to achieve his dream of being a singer. He reveals insecurities he felt about his voice-before he realized that he loved the way singing made him feel more than he disliked the way he sounded.

In this personal memoir, David opens up about the strength he draws from his unshakable faith and unyielding family. He pays tribute to those who continue to inspire him and through their example help him believe in himself, his talent, and his abilities.

Shakira Makes Rafael Nadal Sweat in 'Gypsy' Video

Injuries have sidelined Rafael Nadal on the tennis courts in recent months, but he has absolutely no problem breaking a sweat in the steamy video for Shakira's new track, 'Gypsy.' In it, the equally stunning duo strike seductive poses in next-to-nothing (we're talking shirtless Rafa and barely covered Shakira, people).

The four-time Grand Slam champ does quite a bit of perspiring in the video, especially when the Colombian stunner does a little private dance on what looks to be the inside of a volcano. Hot indeed! Watch 'Gypsy,' which is off Shakira's latest album 'She Wolf.'

Only 300K Apple iPads may be available in March, production problems rumored

Announced by Apple in January, the iPad should be available for purchase starting this month (well, just the Wi-Fi version, because the release of the Wi-Fi + 3G version is scheduled for April).

However, Apple may launch only a limited number of iPads by the end of March – more exactly, only 300,000 units, although the company would have wanted to launch 1 million units. According to Canaccord Adams analyst Peter Misek, this could be because of some production problems that Foxconn (the iPad’s manufacturer) has encountered.

The problems might be related to the iPad’s multi-touch LCD display (“glass strength issues”), but Apple hasn’t confirmed this.

Google, Microsoft Spar on Antitrust

Seeking $335,000 in unpaid advertising bills, Google Inc. filed suit against a small Internet site in Ohio in October. The complaint was so routine it was just two sentences long.

Google never expected the response it got. Last month, the small Internet site countered with a 24-page antitrust lawsuit against Google, accusing the search-engine giant of a litany of monopolistic abuses.

But what really caught Google's attention was the Internet site's legal counsel: It was Charles "Rick" Rule, long the chief outside counsel on competition issues for Google archrival Microsoft Corp.

"My reaction was, 'What the heck is this?' " says Mark Sheriff, an Ohio attorney who represents Google, speaking of the involvement of Mr. Rule and his powerhouse law firm, Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, whose antitrust practice is based in Washington, D.C. "It's not every day that a big D.C. law firm like Cadwalader gets involved in a collections lawsuit in Ohio."

Mr. Rule also represents another small Internet firm that has brought an antitrust suit against Google. Meanwhile, in Europe, following complaints about Google that came from, among others, a Microsoft subsidiary in Germany, the European Commission has opened a preliminary antitrust inquiry into the search giant.

To Google, the pattern is clear: It contends Microsoft is embarking on a proxy war against it through various apparently unrelated cases, preparing the ground for a broader antitrust assault of some sort on Google's dominance in the online world. "It's become clear that our competitors are scouring court dockets around the world looking for complaints against Google into which they can inject themselves, learn more about our business practices, and use that information to develop a broader antitrust complaint against us," said a Google spokesman, Adam Kovacevich.

SS501 to make comeback on May 1st!

SS501 just recently wrapped up their final encore concert on February 27, but it looks like they’ve already got their eyes set on their upcoming return, which is set for, well, 05-01-2010. (Get it??)

Daesung Entertainment, the quintet’s agency, has yet to decide whether SS501’s comeback will come in the form of a mini-album or full-album release. However, the confirmed 501 Day comeback has already gotten fans rustling in excitement.

Motorola Backflip for AT&T unboxing and hands-on

We've just taken delivery of an AT&T-branded Motorola Backflip -- the carrier's very first Android device -- and we wanted to share with you our magical first moments putting the phone through its paces. Here's a quick rundown of our first impressions:

  • It feels solidly-built -- probably a notch better than the CLIQ. There's no wiggle or weirdness in the hinge whatsoever. Of course, we know from personal experience that "feels solidly-built" doesn't necessarily mean it is solidly-built, so the jury's still out on how it'll hold up with regular use, especially with the keyboard exposed full-time.
  • Opening and closing the phone isn't a natural one-handed operation, unless you're comfortable putting it at extreme risk of an unfortunate tumble.

Coming Soon To Chrome: Extensions That Can Alter Your Browsing History

Simply put: Google Chrome is amazing. Ever since it was finally released for the Mac late last year, I’ve been blown away by its big things (speed) and little things (search box that is also the URL box). But the true power of Chrome may lie in what third-party developers are able to do with it. This is what helped Firefox rip market share away from Internet Explorer over the past several years. Chrome is still young, but already making impressive gains in share each month as well. And the browser could be about to get even better.

In a post today on the Chromium Blog, software engineer Erik Kay notes the existence of experimental APIs for Chrome. Basically, these are new APIs that aren’t yet ready for prime time development, but are available on the dev builds of Chrome for developers to play with right now. The first two experimental APIs available sound very interesting. One, “experimental processes,” allows third party developers to access Chrome’s process model. This allows for extensions that could monitor CPU processes for individual tabs, for example. But the other is potentially more interesting. “Experimental history” is described as follows:

Jessica Simpson Opens Up About John Mayer's Sex Talk

Jessica Simpson is finally opening up about John Mayer's raunchy Playboy mag comments.

"I don't want people to know how I am in bed!" Simpson, 29, laments in an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show to air Wednesday.

Mayer likened his ex girlfriend -- whom he split from in 2007 after about a year of dating -- to "crack cocaine" and "sexual napalm" in the March issue of the lad mag. He later apologized for being "an a--hole."

Simpson also admitted she struggles with criticism of her weight.

"It's a really hard thing for me to talk about," the clearly upset reality star (her show, The Price of Beauty, debuts March 15 on VH1) tells Oprah.

"You were a size 4 and people were calling you fat?" the talk show host, 56, says in disbelief, referring to infamous mom jeans Simpson wore to a chili cook off in January 2009.

Katharine McPhee Tapped For NBC Comedy “The Pink House”

Former American Idol finalist Katharine McPhee has signed up for a new pilot on NBC, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

McPhee — who finished second behind Taylor Hicks on the fifth season of American Idol — is making her TV-pilot debut with a lead role in The Pink House, a new network comedy about Midwestern twentysomethings John “Fitz” Fitzgerald and Rob “Bernie” Burnett who move to Los Angeles rent a house on the beach and set out to find their dream jobs.

Microsoft Refuses to Confirm Windows Mobile Will Not Be Upgradable

Microsoft declined to confirm reports that smartphones running Windows Mobile 6.x will not be upgradable to Windows Phone 7 Series, its new operating system. Microsoft has made a point of enforcing strict hardware requirements for devices that run Windows Phone 7 Series, which one Microsoft executive reportedly suggested would prevent even newer devices such as the HTC HD2 from running the new operating system. Microsoft previously refused to confirm whether Windows Mobile would be re-branded as Windows Phones Classic once Windows Phone 7 Series is issued to the marketplace at the end of 2010.

Microsoft refused to confirm widely circulated reports that smartphones currently running Windows Mobile 6.x will not be upgradable to the new Windows Phone 7 Series operating system.

Natasha Kwan, general manager of Microsoft’s Mobile Communications Business in the Asia-Pacific region, is quoted as saying in a March 1 article in APC magazine that "because we have very specific requirements for Windows Phone 7 Series, the current phones we have right now will not be upgradable." The article further suggests that the HTC HD2, a smartphone whose full touchscreen would seemingly qualify it to work with Windows Phone 7 Series’ touch-centric interface, would not qualify for upgrading to the new operating system because it has five buttons instead of three.

Microsoft warns of zero-day hole for older Windows

Microsoft warned of a new hole on Monday that could be exploited by attackers to take control of older Windows systems running Internet Explorer and for which proof-of-concept exploit code has been released publicly.

The vulnerability affects Windows 2000-, XP- and Server 2003-based systems. It exists in the way that Visual Basic Scripting, or VBScript, interacts with Windows Help files, Microsoft said in its security advisory. VBScript is an Active Scripting language for executing functions embedded in Web pages.

In an attack scenario, victims would somehow be lured to visit a malicious Web site that displays a specially crafted dialog box, Microsoft said. The box could prompt visitors to press the F1 key, which would install malware on the visitor's computer when pressed. The F1 key is used to bring up the help function.

Archos 7 Home Tablet gets hands-on video: surprisingly good

The prospect of a 7-inch Android internet tablet running a relatively laggardly 600MHz ARM9 processor left us doubtful about Archos’ new Archos 7 Home Tablet, but according to a very enthusiastic Charbax we shouldn’t be so concerned. He’s been playing with the Archos 7 for a few days now, and is reporting reasonable browsing speeds, 720p HD playback and 7hrs usage from a full charge.

There are obviously compromises to be had: if you want to watch 720p HD video then you’ll need to make sure your files come in with under 2500kbit/s bitrates, and overall performance isn’t what you’d find on the faster (and more expensive) Archos 5 Internet Tablet. Still, the onboard speakers are decent for listening to video audio, and the resistive touchscreen is apparently precise enough for relatively speedy text-entry.

HTC Legend priced on Vodafone UK, free on select contracts

Officially unveiled during MWC 2010 (alongside HTC Desire and HTC HD Mini) the HTC Legend should be available across Europe starting April.

Vodafone is the first carrier that will offer the Legend on contract in the UK. Voda plans to sell the new Android 2.1 smartphone for £1.99 with a 2-yr contract agreement of at least £25 (about $37) per month, or for free with more expensive contracts.

The HTC Legend is made out of “a single aluminum block” and features a 3.2 inch HVGA capacitive multi-touch display, accelerometer, optical trackpad, HSPA, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3.5mm headset jack, and a 5MP camera with autofocus and LED flash.

Nokia X6 16GB available at Vodafone UK

Today, Vodafone UK has started offering the Nokia X6 16GB, for free with a 2-yr contract of at least £30 per month (600 minutes, 500MB of mobile internet and unlimited texts are included).

Vodafone’s Nokia X6 16GB is preloaded with the Vodafone 360 Homescreen, thus providing access to Vodafone My Web, the 360 Apps and Games Shop, and VIP contacts. The smartphone also lets you access Vodafone Music and download DRM-free songs from a catalogue of more than 5 million titles.

Moreover, the third series of the British comedy show Gavin & Stacey is preloaded on the X6 16GB from Vodafone. And, of course, the handset features a 3.2 inch touchscreen display, HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, Nokia Maps, and a 5MP autofocus camera with Carl Zeiss lens.

Letter from JaeBum’s mother to 2PM fans

Park JaeBum’s mother has relayed some cautionary words to fans through 2PM’s joint fanclub UnderGround recently.

The letter from JaeBum’s mother was posted up on UnderGround’s fanpage on 1st March.

And the fanclub wrote, “On the 25th of February, after JYPE announced that Jaebum was permanently out of the group, because of their irresponsible and inhumane actions, we were going to fight back. We wanted to fix Jaebum’s ruined reputation for him no matter what. However, because Jaebum and Jaebum’s family have spent these six months with many rumors and hurt, they no longer want this to become an issue anymore. They also believe that time will make the hurt go away and they do not want the fans to respond.”

Jay Chou systematically denies rumours at "Pandamen" event

Taiwanese superstar Jay Chou spoke out against the recent rash of rumours about him at an event to promote his science-fiction action drama "Pandamen" event on Saturday.

This was the first he had spoken to the media and his fans at length since wrapping up his television directorial debut in "Pandamen".

Chou called Taiwanese rapper Dog G, who wrote a song that allegedly insulted his manliness, "scum of society" and called upon close friend Devon Song to continue scolding Dog G as Chou "[did] not want to dignify Dog G by rebuking him personally".

Chou, 31, also addressed singer Devin Wu's admission on popular Taiwanese television talk show "KangXi Arrives" that she gave her virginity to him when she was just 16.

"Has she gone crazy?" said an exasperated Chou.

Chou claims that he only sent Wu, who was a label-mate at the time, home on a few occasions but never dated her. He believes that she only made the statement for the sake of the programme, on the behest of the show's producers.

Are you sure you can see with that on? Lady Gaga appears to have her vision impaired by a huge rose-shaped headpiece

You've got the be blind to dress like this, so it's possible Lady Gaga put her huge rose-shaped headwear on first before she pulled on the rest of her outfit.

The outrageous singer seems to have saved the most jaw-dropping outfits from her wardrobe for the London leg of her world tour, with this the latest of her eccentric ensembles.

Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, looked as though her vision was severly impaired by the gigantic black headdress in the shape of a rose - while her outfit would have no doubt had the opposite effect on anyone who saw it.

Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts Leaving Pussycat Dolls

Kimberly Wyatt Leaving Pussycat Dolls

To the surprise of absolutely no one, singer Kimberly Wyatt is leaving The Pussycat Dolls.

After months of speculation of feuding with frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly says she’s severing ties with the burlesque troupe of singing strippers.

The band’s founder Robin Antin dismissed reports the girl group had split following Jessica Sutta’s departure last November. The Grammy-nominated group announced they were taking a break from performing together shortly after. Wyatt then subsequently went public with her displeasure with Scherzinger’s preferential treatment within the band.

Firefox loses browser share third month running

First sustained slide for Mozilla; meanwhile, Chrome climbs

Mozilla's Firefox lost share in February, the third consecutive month that the browser has slipped, according to metrics data published today.

Google's Chrome, meanwhile, continued its climb for the 16th straight month.

Firefox lost about 0.2 of a percentage point last month to end with a usage share of 24.2%. It was the third month in a row that Mozilla's browser fell in the rankings posted by Web measurement vendor NetApplications.com. Previous dips in Mozilla's share were one-month blips; this is the browser's first sustained decline in NetApplications' numbers.

Since the end of November 2009, Firefox has dropped nearly half a point, representing a fall of 2% of its total share.

Windows Mobile 6.x handsets not upgradeable to Windows Phone 7 after all

It looks like there’s a bit of confusion among Microsoft officials at the moment regarding the upgradeability of Windows Mobile 6.x devices to Windows Phone 7.

Last week, Microsoft UK said that upgrades are “really for the hardware partners to think about.”

Today, however, Natasha Kwan, General Manager for Microsoft’s Mobile Communications Business in the Asia-Pacific region, declared to APC that “because we have very specific requirements for Windows Phone 7 Series, the current phones we have right now will not be upgradeable.” Why they didn’t specifically said so from the beginning is beyond me.

Joey Yung & Leo Ku war of words at "EEG 10th Anniversary Concert"

Last night, "EEG 10th Anniversary Star Concert" was held in Macau with EEG artists in attendance including Joey Yung, Leo Ku, Twins, William Chan, Vincy Chan, Sherman Chung, Yumiko Cheng, Wong Cho Lam and more. Korean star Lee Jun Ki and Jackie Chan also sent a clip congratulating them. All the attendees were split into Red and White groups led by Joey and Leo respectively for a singing battle. In the end, Joey's red team won.

As the leaders of the red and white team, Joey and Leo engaged in a war of words on stage causing laughter in the audiences. Leo teased and said: "Today I saw Ah Sa and noticed that she got a double chin. Then I saw Ah Gil backstage and noticed she gained some weight, losing her waist!" Leo continued: "Turns out Joey actually has two belly buttons!" Leo who was speaking nonsense, made Joey jump in anger, she said to Leo: "You have the least experience in this company (EEG), why you talking so much, and you didn't even call me Big Sister!" Joey exposed her big sister attitude making the audience laugh out loud. Later, Leo was asked if he's worried that he may have upsetted his colleagues, Leo said: "They knew ahead of time! (Ah Gil gained weight?) No! I was just joking."

During the 2009 Cyworld Digital Music Awards ceremony on 1st March, the girls won the awards of Top Seller Artist, Best Artist, Best Song and Best Rookie Group

Adam Lambert — The Male Lady GaGa?

ADAM Lambert says people often refer to him as the male version of Lady GaGa.

The For Your Entertainment singer — who shot to fame after finishing second on American Idol – teamed up with the Bad Romance hitmaker for a track on his debut album.

“It is a great collaboration but there is mention of a guy in the lyrics so they wouldn’t play it in the States because we can be so conservative,” Lambert told a British newspaper.

“People call me the Lad Gaga but I reckon she should be the Madam Lambert. I mean, I am older!

“But seriously, GaGa is someone who appreciates the artists of the 70s.

“The acts doing well now are theatrical, that is what makes a popstar nowadays.

iPhone's LED screen is better than Nexus One's OLED, experts claim

Fortify for frenetic phone fanboy fighting -- as part of a series of in-depth investigations into the screen quality of the iPhone and the Nexus One, the visual experts at DisplayMate have claimed that, scientifically speaking, the iPhone's LED display is a clear winner.

A tip of the hat goes to OLED-Display for tipping us off to the study. Examine the images above for yourself -- on the Nexus One's theoretically more advanced OLED screen, DisplayMate says, "there are lots of issues, problems and artifacts lurking just below the surface".

One critical error is that the Nexus One's screen displays in only 16-bit colour, meaning red and blue have only 32 possible intensity levels. "This is common on low-end devices," says DisplayMate, "but it is unacceptable for an expensive, high-performance 'Super-Phone' that Google claims it to be."

Microsoft investigating new IE browser vulnerability

Microsoft’s security response team is investigating reports of a potentially dangerous code execution vulnerability in its flagship Internet Explorer browser.

The company warned that an attacker could host a maliciously crafted web page and run arbitrary code if they could convince a user to visit the web page and then get them to press the F1 key in response to a pop up dialog box.

Microsoft’s Jerry Bryant said the company is not aware of any attacks related to this vulnerability.

“We have determined that users running Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Vista, are not affected by this issue,” Bryant said.

Oscars 2010: Best picture voting changes explained

Hands up, Hollywood - who understands the changes to the voting rules for this year's best picture Oscar?

Unless you happen to work for official Academy Award accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers, you'd be forgiven for being confused.

For the first time since 1944, 10 movies instead of just five are in contention for the evening's highest accolade.

Robert Pattinson: ‘Bel Ami is Full of Sex’

MOVIE hunk Robert Pattinson says his new film is worth watching — because it’s full of sex!

The Twilight actor stars opposite Uma Thurman in Bel Ami and admits the flick features several explicit scenes.

“There’s a lot of sex in Bel Ami,” R-Patz told MTV.

“It is like the complete antithesis of what you normally think period dramas are about.

“In Paris, everybody was just going nuts. It was like the 1980s. Sex was kind of a weapon and a tool, and it’s odd… There’s something very mercenary about it in a lot of ways.”

Although he’s considered one of the world’s sexiest men, Rob, 23, has previously insisted he doesn’t see himself as a heartthrob.

Why Google Pushed Buzz Out The Door Before It Was Ready

When Google Buzz launched three weeks ago, the product wasn’t ready. There were basic privacy issues that still needed to be hammered out (and were quickly addressed by Google), but beyond that Google Buzz simply did not work smoothly enough to force feed it to 175 million Gmail users without any warning. (MG covered some of the usability issues last week).

So why was Google Buzz pushed out the door too soon? I have three interrelated theories:
  1. Google still wants to buy Twitter, and putting Buzz into Gmail might be enough of a threat to bring Twitter back to the table. Buzz did not launch in some Google Labs backwater. It is placed front and center in Gmail. Buzz is Google’s strongest effort yet to enter the stream. If Buzz can gain traction it would certainly help Google’s negotiating position with Twitter.

HP EliteBook 2740p Tablet Graduates to Capacitive Multitouch Display

The HP EliteBook 2730p was a tough little convertible tablet, and its successor— HP's EliteBook 2740p—is no exception. The 2740p meets the same rugged MIL-STD 810G military standards, and adds a capacitive touch screen and Core i5/i7 goodness.

The 12.1-inch WXGA (1280 x 800) LED display includes anti-glare and optional outdoor view, and can be operated with a pen, your finger, the keyboard, or some combination thereof. Under the hood, you've got your choice of Core i7 or Core i5 processors, but there's sadly no discrete graphics option.

You'll get up to five hours out of the standard six-cell battery, but can add on an HP 2700 ultra-slim battery for an additional six hours (listed). And the standard set-up weighs under four pounds—not bad for a tough guy convertible tablet. The HP EliteBook 2740p will be available in the US in April, starting at $1600.

Actress Vicki Zhao to return to work after giving birth

Chinese actress Vicki Zhao, now seven months pregnant with a baby boy, will return to acting soon after delivery because property magnate husband Huang You Long reneged on promises to fund her planned wine-related enterprise, said Hong Kong media.

Zhao, who turns 34 this month, has been together with Huang since he dumped his former fiancee, Miss Hong Kong 2005 winner Tracy Yip, in 2008.

The couple secretly tied the knot in Singapore in August last year.

After their union, Zhao immediately stopped working and did not participate in the promotional activities for her latest film "14 Blades".

BEAST ‘Shock’ MV revealed!

As the name of their title track from their second mini-album Shock of the New Era suggests, the 6-member boy band gave quite a surprise with their transformation to a more dark and mature concept. Even the adorable blond-headed Yoseob looked vastly different from his debut days.

Near the end of the MV, the instrumental of BEAST’s slow-tempo R&B track Just Before Shock can be heard, with the words “Coming up,” “Next from CUBE” at the bottom right-hand corner. Could it be that BEAST has the intention of promoting Just Before Shock as well? (It would be ironic though, because the title of the songs imply otherwise).

LG Arena Max now official as LG Maxx LG9400

First seen in early February, the LG Arena Max LU9400 has been officially introduced in Korea via LG Telecom, as LG Maxx LG9400.

Apparently, the LG Maxx LG9400 is the first phone to be launched in South Korea with a Snapdragon CPU at 1GHz (it uses Qualcomm’s QSD8650 chip, unlike the Nexus One, the LG GW820 eXpo, the Xperia X10 and other Snapdragon-powered handsets, which use the Qualcomm QSD8250 chip).

EviGroup's Paddle is the more advanced, more expensive Pad (video)

Remember the eviGroup Pad, the 10-inch tablet with 3G and a creepy looking AI slave built-in? We won't blame you if you forgot it, but maybe its more advanced cousin will be more memorable. If anything its name will be: Paddle. It's the same basic design as the Pad, a 10-inch keyboard-free tablet with netbook internals, but this one gets a swankier LED-backlit multitouch display along with SSD storage -- though a paltry 32GB max on flash is hardly an upgrade over the 320GB you can get on platters. Also new is an optional WiFi antenna to boost range and a new layer over Windows 7 called Scale that looks a little like being trapped on the inside of a paddlewheel of content (video below). How much would you pay for such decidedly evolutionary steps? For eviGroup's sake hopefully your number is somewhere around €699 ($945), because that's the MSRP when it starts shipping this summer -- a rather steep increase over the (already pricey) €500 Pad.

HP ProBooks Get Prettier Inside and Out

HP's ProBook s-series wants to be your everything: punchy enough for work, stylish enough for home. And with a new brushed aluminum industrial design and Core i3/i5/i7 processing power, they may just bridge that gap.

HP's rolling out four new ProBook models, ranging from the 13.3-inch 4320s to the heavy-duty 17.3-inch 4720s. In addition to those speedy Arrandale processors and "caviar" and "bordeaux" aluminum finishes, the new line-up also features optional ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4350 discrete graphics (compared with the previous generation's Radeon 4330, HD LED-backlit displays, and an optional 2MP camera.

WAD2 Windows Phone 7 theme boosts performance [Video]

Remember yesterday’s Windows Phone 7 Metro UI theme for Windows Mobile 6.5 devices? Performance on the early alpha was sluggish, but it looks like Jaxbot’s project isn’t the only one out there looking to put some new shine on older devices. LeSScro has been working on a Metro UI theme, based on WisBar Advance Desktop 2.x, and it’s running a whole lot more smoothly than yesterday’s attempt.

Like that, it includes the distinctive tile-based Start screen, together with the lockscreen with its time, date and notification icons. There are transitional animations between pages, as well as profile settings (including WiFi and volume), and he’s even added in various Hubs – Microsoft’s way of distinguishing between sets of common functionality – including Pictures, Games, Media, Office and Stocks. Right now it’s only suitable for WVGA devices, however, and it’s still in a relatively early development stage.

HTC HD2 Windows Phone 7 update axed: buttons to blame?

Talk of a Windows Phone 7 update for the HTC HD2 has circulated pretty much since the phone was launched, but despite ostensibly positive hints from HTC themselves, it looks like Microsoft’s newly-rigid hardware guidelines have scuppered the Snapdragon smartphone’s chances. Speaking to APC Magazine, Natasha Kwan, General Manager for Microsoft’s Mobile Communications Business in the Asia-Pacific region pointed out that the HD2 won’t qualify for an upgrade as “it doesn’t have the three buttons”.

The buttons Kwan refers to are the Home, Back and Search keys that are mandated for all Windows Phone 7 devices. Instead, the HD2 has Call, Home, Start, Back and End/Power controls. Microsoft have allowed handset OEMs some flexibility in adding in extra keys – such as volume rockers or camera shortcuts – but none when it comes to the basic three on the front panel.

Se7en To Return Better Than Ever

Murmurs of Se7en’s Kpop comeback have been floating since G-Dragon’s mega concert and now there’s some solid confirmation of a new album.

A YG Entertainment spokesperson has stated that Se7en is currently in the studio working with elite producers to start promoting the album in May
