Katharine McPhee Tapped For NBC Comedy “The Pink House”
Former American Idol finalist Katharine McPhee has signed up for a new pilot on NBC, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
McPhee — who finished second behind Taylor Hicks on the fifth season of American Idol — is making her TV-pilot debut with a lead role in The Pink House, a new network comedy about Midwestern twentysomethings John “Fitz” Fitzgerald and Rob “Bernie” Burnett who move to Los Angeles rent a house on the beach and set out to find their dream jobs.
McPhee will play Emily, a sexy, down-to-earth Midwest girl who lives in an apartment behind the guys’ house.
This is not McPhee’s only foray into the world of acting: Katharine co-starred in the 2008 box office comedy The House Bunny and made her TV acting debut in an episode of the CBS crime drama CSI: NY. The powerhouse will next appear in the big screen romantic comedy You May Not Kiss the Bride, premiering in theaters later this year.
