Where did they find a girl shorter than Justin Bieber? Pint-sized pop star films U Smile video

He made headlines over a light-hearted flirtation with 13-years-older Kim Kardashian, said Cheryl Cole was his ideal woman, and landed kisses from Rihanna and Katy Perry.

But it appears Justin Bieber has finally found a girl from his own age range to cosy up to.

And for once pint-sized Bieber, who at 16 is 5ft 5, wasn't left in the shade by his companion, whose height was a good match for his own.

The pair were filmed his new music video U Smile is Los Angeles yesterday.

Bieber has no concerns about his height, joking earlier this year: 'I put in a lot of time on the road going to radio stations at 6 am and singing, all in the middle of my growth spurt.

'Thanks to the music industry, I’m going to be really short.'

Dressed in a black hooded jumper and jeans, the Baby singer filmed scenes that show him waiting for the girl outside a locked-up downtown shop.

Taylor Swift Checks Out “Easy A” Premiere

She’s always up for a good time and last night (September 13) Taylor Swift was spotted at the Los Angeles premiere of “Easy A.”

The “Should’ve Said No” songstress looked lovely in a green dress as she schmoozed with Emma Stone while posing outside the Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

In related news, Taylor had a great night at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, and even sang a song of forgiveness for Kanye West.

In “Inocent” she expressed, "Everyone of us has messed up, too. I hope you remember today is never too late to be brand new. Thirty-two and still growing up now; who you are is not what you did. You're still an innocent."

Nokia CBD vs. Apple Retina... display fight!

Come on, you knew this post was coming. Here we have a prototype Nokia E7 and its new 4-inch, 640x360 pixel Clear Black Display pitted again the iPhone 4's 3.5-inch 960x640 pixel Retina display. To our eyes, the iPhone 4 display has a noticeable blue warmth and wasn't as vibrant or bright as the CBD. The CBD, however, did come across a bit oversatured (just look at those red "breaking news" bars), but hey, it's AMOLED. It certainly looks just as good as the Galaxy S' Super AMOLED. We'll have to see how the polarized layer on the CBD affects sunlight viewing. More on that later. Until then, play nice dear readers.

Nokia E7 first hands-on (Video)

Wow. That's the feeling that hits when you pick up the Nokia E7 for the first time. That 4-inch "Clear Black" display really pops as you'd expect from AMOLED and the full QWERTY slider is packed into an incredibly svelte and attractive form factor. Impressions coming up shortly. Until then, check out the E7 next to its N8 cousin and iPhone 4 foe.

Former Super Junior band member Han Geng reveals why he left the K-pop band

He Left K-pop band Super Junior under unhappy circumstances, but China-born Han Geng has put the past behind him and is ready to move on.

Famous for his dance moves, Han is keen on breaking into movies as well.

Coughing continuously during the phone interview, Han said: 'I have a cold. The weather's been bad recently. I've been on medication and I hope to recover soon.'

Since releasing his latest album in late July, Han has not had time to rest. He has to constantly commute between China and Taiwan for promotional tours.

But such a hectic schedule is nothing new to Han, who spent seven years in South Korea making his mark in showbiz. He once worked a full year without any breaks or sick leave.

Han's health may be suffering with his hectic schedule, but he remains mentally tough, persevering through his performances even while ill.

He said: 'Once I'm on stage, I'm reborn. Once I throw myself into performing, I forget that I'm sick.'

Singing not the goal

Singing never appealed to Han, who has admittedly been in love with dancing since childhood.

Are Enemies Trying to Sabotage Jennifer Lopez on 'American Idol'?

Are there shadowy forces at work trying to sabotage Jennifer Lopez's bid to become the next 'American Idol' judge? According to a new report, FOX execs believe enemies of the show as well as Lopez's competition are planting rumors about the star's so-called "diva demands" before signing on the dotted line.

Well-connected sources tell TMZ that negotiations between the two parties have in fact been "normal" and that Lopez is expected to become the show's judge any day now.

Among the rumors floating around about Lopez include that she was demanding too much money was insisting on a movie deal to be included. Some sort of movie component is involved with negotiations, but it's not a key part of it.

In early August, sources told PopEater's Rob Shuter that Lopez was only offered the job after several big-name celebrities, including Elton John and Barry Manilow, turned down offers to be permanent judges.

Nokia C7 first hands-on

We've just played with both black and silver versions of Nokia's just-announced C7 -- a phone that you might call an N8 for the masses -- and we think it's probably going to come away with the "sexiest Symbian device" crown by the time it's on shelves. We're a little concerned with screen sensitivity; on both the C7 and C6-01, we had a little difficulty getting home screen swipes to actuate -- but you never know what the deal is with these well-handled protos, so we're going to hold off on passing judgment until we've got retail units in our hands. The black's a little unnotable, but the silver really pops in person -- maybe it's just the lighting -- and the screen seems to perform nearly as well as the C6's so-called ClearBlack AMOLED, so unless you need a monster cam, the C7 might be your Symbian^3 device of choice when it launches later this year. Hit the gallery for shots of both colors!

Update: The display seemed to look as good as the C6-01's because we've confirmed that it is ClearBlack! Rock on.

Nokia C6-01 first hands-on

So the C7 might be the sexiest Symbian^3 device... but the C6-01, well, it just may be the cutest. Just all depends on what you're looking for (and how much you're willing to spend), you know? Like the C7, we had a little difficulty getting screen swipes to register while trying to change home screens, but considering that the top of the bezel had the very prototypish "C0" mystery name badge, we're more than happy to cut it a little slack. Having come directly from the C7, it's a little tricky to be comfortable with the smaller display -- not to mention the thicker body -- and the back definitely tends toward the cheap side with matte hard plastic, but again, this is clearly designed to be a budget device. And hey, how many budget smartphones can you think of with AMOLED displays that have extreme black levels? Check out the gallery for a few shots.

Nokia Says Preorders for N8 Smartphone Are Strongest Company Has Ever Seen

Nokia Oyj, trying to claw back ground lost to Apple Inc.’s iPhone, said its new N8 smartphone got the most preorders the company has ever had for any product.

The N8, showcased today, is the “start of something truly big,” Anssi Vanjoki, the company’s outgoing smartphones chief, said at the Nokia World summit in London. The device offers a completely new user experience, he said.

For Nokia, which last week appointed Microsoft Corp.’s Stephen Elop as chief executive officer, the touchscreen N8 is the latest effort to take on the iPhone and handsets based on Google Inc.’s Android operating system. The N8, announced in April, has an anodized aluminum case surrounding a 3.5-inch screen, with streaming and on-demand television services to show it off.

Nokia sells 260,000 smartphones a day

For all the crap Nokia has been getting lately about falling behind, not innovating, or releasing products that don’t really compare with the competition, you could be forgiven in thinking that they may be on death’s door.

So you’d probably be surprised to hear that Nokia still move more smartphones than the Big Two. How many you ask? Try about 260,000 a day. To put that into perspective, last I heard, Apple ship somewhere around 80,000 iPhones per day, and Android activate 200,000 devices per day.

So, how do Nokia define “smartphone”? You can probably safely guess that they would exclude Series 40, meaning that it is any device running S60 5th edition.

Cocaine Arrest Part Of Paris Hilton’s Plan To Snatch Headlines From The Kardashians?

Cocaine addiction or elaborate plot to reclaim the limelight?

Paris Hilton’s arrest on cocaine possession charges in Sin City last month was all part of a master plan to steal back headlines from her ex-bestie, and current media darling, Kim Kardashian, well-placed informants told Australian tabloid NW Magazine this week.

“She’s been plotting a way to return to the limelight, and getting arrested for cocaine might be extreme but it worked,” the mag reports.

Paris is reportedly peeved that she’s’ fallen off the Celeb-Gawker Radar since The Kardashians stole cornered the market on shameless famewhoring three years ago. Things have gotten so frosty between former pals Kim and Paris that the pair remained tight-lipped, refusing to speak to one another, during a recent charity event in Las Vegas.

Let me guess: She was just going to flip her hair and tell everyone she thought the white powder was gum, and they’d all fawn over her and let her go. She didn’t think previous jail time and two collars for possession of marijuana in two months might count against her?

And she claims being stupid is just an act!

Nokia makes E7 QWERTY slider official: 'beautiful and all business'

Nokia's just unveiled its aluminum-clad E7 QWERTY slider handset. One of the new family of Symbian^3 devices, it has a 4-inch tilting touchscreen display on the front and an 8 megapixel imager on the back. Yummy. It's said to be the best business device Nokia, or anyone else, has ever produced and comes with the touted ability to create PowerPoint slides on the go. The E7 is expected to ship before the end of the year more pics below.

Nokia announces new C6 and C7 handsets with 8 megapixel camera

Nokia has outed its new range of smartphones, and there are three new devices alongside the N8. First up is the Nokia C6, a full touchscreen handset with a new CBD “ClearBlack Display” that, according to Anssi Vanjoki, is “blacker than black”. Then there’s the Nokia C7 – “the thin one” says Vanjoki – with the same functionality as the C6, a 3.5-inch display, more memory and a stainless steel chassis.

The C6 also has an 8-megapixel camera and WebTV support, along with Nokia Navigation with turn-by-turn directions. It shares the CBD display with the C7, which Vanjoki describes as having “the sleekest, smoothest device in the world, no doubt about that”.

Both phones have Ovi Store access, pedestrian access features in Ovi Maps – including public transportation information – and broad social networking integration. Both will begin shipping in Q4 2010; no word on pricing as yet.

Opening 100th concert, Jay Chou: I want to be like Alan Tam and sing till I'm old

Jay Chou has been out for 10 years, yesterday night he took a step closer to the milestone of selling tickets for the 100th concert. He smiled saying: "It feels like over 100. I hope I can be like Alan Tam, Fei Yu Ching, breaking records and singing till I'm old."

On the 11th Jay Chou arrived in Xi An international airport, nearly 1000 fans queued up to welcome him, besides wearing t-shirts printed with "Jay Chou". They also held a banner to welcome him, they shouted together: "Xi An Jay fans welcome you."

Director Chou wore white sports clothing and trainers, he looked relaxed under the protection of his bodyguards. Even the 22 seconds passed by in a flash, there were still fans going crazy, some who didn't get to see Director Chou collapsed on the floor crying, some were also pushed to the ground.

Jay Chou is 31 this year, it's been claimed he is the youngest Chinese artist to break 100 concerts. At the beginning of 2008, he held a concert in Japan's Budo Kan as the first artist from Taiwan, he said proudly: "To an artist, being able to hold a concert in the Hong Kong Coliseum or Budo Kan is a very big honour."

SNSD ranks 4th on the Oricon Weekly Chart, setting a new record

So Nyeo Shi Dae has once again written a new history on Oricon chart.

According to Japanese music chart Oricon charts on 14th September, the girls are up #4 on the weekly chart. This is just 1 week into the official release of their Japanese debut single, which sold a record of 40~50K, surpassing the results achieved by KARA, achieving the best results any Korean idols have achieved with their debut single album.

Oricon chart wrote, “9-member Korean group So Nyeo Shi Dae’s debut Japanese single ‘Genie’ sold over 40~50 K copies in the first week of its release, went up to #4 on the weekly rankings in just 20 over days. This is the best results so far for any foreign female singers including KARA who released their debut single ‘Mister’ on 23rd August which went up to as high as #5 on the weekly chart.”

An official revealed, “This is results better than we expected. If such results are to continue, we expect even more daebak and better results for their next promotion period.”

Samsung's i8700 Windows Phone 7 handset goes through the video leak ritual

It's well known around these parts that if you aspire to be a highly desirable smartphone, you have to leak out in three clearly delineated stages: pictures, video, and specs. We've seen the i8700 a couple of times already now, and the specs can probably be extrapolated from Windows Phone 7's stringent hardware profiles, but the video, that was the bit that was missing. Until now, of course. Slide past the break to see it smoothly sailing through the now familiar WP7 interface. The video's focus is soft, but it won't get in the way of seeing some truly buttery processing of touch input.

Verizon Is About To Kick Google In The Apps With Its Own Apple-Like App Store

Buried a few paragraphs into my post a few days ago about how Android’s openness is giving the carriers a way to potentially ruin the platform, I noted the following tidbit of information I had heard:

Earlier this year, Verizon rolled out its own V Cast app store on some BlackBerry devices. This occurred despite the fact that BlackBerry devices have their own app store (App World). From what we’re hearing, Verizon is also planning to launch this store on their Android phones as well in the future. Obviously, this store would be pre-installed, and it would likely be more prominently displayed than Android’s own Market for apps.

A new report today from the blog Android and Me seems to confirm this information. Specifically, the report states that Verizon is already accepting submissions for their new V CAST App Store on Android — and that the store will exist outside of Android’s own Market. The best part? It will be a curated store (read: walled garden), much like Apple’s App Store rather than Android’s Market.

Google TV officially launching October 17th?

It's been no secret that Google TV is scheduled to arrive sometime this fall and we've already seen the Logitech Revue box hardware pass the FCC, but a tipster has just shared an internal Best Buy document with us disclosing that the original planned launched date was October 3rd, and it's now been mysteriously pushed back by two weeks. That would pin the official launch as October 17th, which is certainly later then what Intel's chief recently hinted at. While it's certainly not definitive proof, considering the fact that Best Buy is an official partner of Google TV and the dates timing relative to the upcoming holiday season, we don't think this leak is all that far fetched. Let's not forget that schedule would also place its release a little more than two weeks after the suggested ship date of Cupertino's new hobby. Sure, Google's mantra may be "do no evil", but that doesn't mean they can't try to rain on Job's parade every now and again right? Oh and for all the eloquent waxing you could want on Google's assault on the living room, make sure you check our editorial on the platform if you happened to miss it.

Jimmy Lin talks about being a father; has to report bed scenes to wife ahead of time

Jimmy Lin, Dylan Kuo, and Zhao Liang appeared on Hunan TV “快乐大本营” to promote the new series Single Princess and Blind Dates. Even though the new father can still dazzle girls in idol series he shows his fatherly love when talking about his son. His net worth is reported to be over 1B rmb but he regrets that he can’t spend more time with his son. His wife will be a stay-home mom while he supports the family.

As the first generation of idols Jimmy captured the hearts of girls with his handsome face. Time hasn’t made its marks on his babyface but the birth of his son proved that the “Little Whirlwind” has grown up. He used to evade questions about his love life but now he talks openly about his son. “Now I talk to him daily via webcam. He’s excited to see me.” Jimmy smiled and said he has changed a lot since becoming a father. “I used to do whatever I pleased and not worrying too much. But now with a sweet burden I have a responsibility. As long as I can see his smile everything is worth it. After becoming a father I stay home more. I don’t go out for nothing. Just to hold him and watch him falls asleep is my best satisfaction.” Even though he still looks childish but Jimmy said he is good at changing diapers and bathing the baby and is a super dad.

Stephen Chow breaks silence on Kitty Zhang's contract dispute

Hong Kong actor-director Stephen Chow broke his silence Sunday regarding his entertainment company's contract dispute with Chinese actress Kitty Zhang and expressed that he will seek legal recourse, reported Hong Kong media.

Zhang, who is signed to Chow's entertainment company Star Overseas, had taken on a role in Chinese director Wang Quan An's drama series "White Deer Plain" without Star Overseas, knowledge.

Her decision had apparently raised the ire of Chow, who discovered her and cast her as a kind teacher in his 2008 film "CJ7".

"Am I upset? I think talking about it is pointless, everything will be done according to the law," Chow told reporters.

Zhang is the second actress in recent years to have had contract issues with Chow's firm.

Chinese actress Eva Huang was discovered by Chow and appeared in his 2004 film "Kung Fu Hustle".

Star Overseas put her career on ice and after she did a photo shoot in swimwear for a magazine without the firm's consent, claiming that the photos destroyed her chaste image.

Mamma mia! Lindsay Lohan glams up for a sexy Italian fashion shoot (months before she served her prison sentence)

It was a good few months before she was sentenced to prison and a stint in rehab for violating the terms of her probation.

But Lindsay Lohan looks confident and stunning in a series of sexy photographs for an Italian fashion label's autumn/winter collection.

The 24-year-old star showed off a slim and toned figure in the shots - for trendy brand Fornarina.

And instead of the platinum blonde hair she sported in court back in August, Lohan's locks were a deep brown.

She has now returned to her natural red.

It's not the first time Lohan has modelled for the European label.

She also posed for them last year for their spring/summer campaign.

Ellen grills Lady Gaga about VMAs meat dress

Today’s season premiere of Ellen features a post-VMAs interview between vegan DeGeneres and carnivore-couture spokeswoman Lady Gaga. (Video’s embedded after the break.) PETA has already responded to the “meat dress” designed by Franc Fernandez that Gaga wore to accept the award for Video of the Year by issuing a statement including the rhetorical question: “What’s next: the family cat made into a hat?” Don’t think she won’t take you up on that, activists! Anything is possible.

Lady Gaga’s response to Ellen’s gentle prompt — “What is the purpose of the meat?” — was about as jam-packed with crazy as a Top Round London Broil is crammed with protein and other important nutrients. Behold:

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Dashboard Gets Refreshed and Leaked to YouTube

Microsoft is getting ready for the upcoming launch of Halo: Reach, which launches tomorrow. But, further out, they’ve got their motion-controller, Kinect, on the horizon. And with that other significant launch, there’s plenty of changes that Microsoft has in store. We already know that in the upcoming Dashboard update, Microsoft intends to upgrade the overall audio quality of playing on Xbox LIVE. But, what we hadn’t known (in detail), was how much the Dashboard would change for the overall experience. And, it looks like everyone’s going to get the look and feel of the Kinect Dashboard, whether you plan on getting the peripheral or not.

While there’s no real confirmation that this is the next Dashboard for the Xbox 360, it does look real enough. And, if you ignore the music long enough (which really isn’t all that bad), you can take note of the few changes that have been made. Primarily, you’ll notice right off the bat that the overall look may feel the same as the current edition of the Dashboard, but it’s been given a more seamless make over. It looks, more or less, a lot more “clean” and straightforward.

Verizon HTC Droid Incredible smartphones will ship with SLCD displays before the end of September

HTC have had their share of issues with AMOLED display technology. Or rather, not with the tech itself, but with shortages of displays using it. This then led to widespread delays of HTC smartphones. Probably the most notable (and longest) of these hit the Droid Incredible for Verizon.

And while that phone is now back in stock, HTC have said that they will be switching from AMOLED displays made by Samsung to SLCD displays made by Sony. And they have started to, with HTC Desire smartphones already showing up with the new screens.

And now the Droid Incredible’s turn is finally about to come. According to the above screenshot, a leak of a Verizon memo making its way through the carrier’s computers, the change will occur by the end of September.

Hebe Tien becomes a workaholic in her new music video

“Super Newcomer” Hebe Tien Fu-Chen is not only dominating the albums charts, she is also number one in ringtone downloads. Her record company hopes to continue the success with her third single, “你太猖狂 (You are too savage)” from the “To Hebe” album. It is categorized as a “healing” song with lyrics that realistically describe a person's feelings after a breakup.

The music video was filmed in Japan with beautiful sceneries including Mount Fuji, but the shoot was far from a vacation for Hebe. To convey the song’s theme, her character tries to forget her pain by overworking herself. She does everything from handing out flyers, tissues, to even mopping the floors in a bathhouse. She joked that other than singing, housework is the second thing she does best.

The singer had to wear a scarf in the middle of summer in one scene where she had to hold man-made snowflakes with her palms. She later filmed another scene in the shower in which water was poured over her head. Although it wasn’t her first time filming something this, she said, “Getting drenched is not scary, what’s scary is getting drenched and drying it off, and then repeatedly getting drenched again.”

See Hebe hands out flyers/mops the floor/gets drenched/eats a peach with its skin on:

Britney Spears "Could Get a Little Freaky"

Get ready for some Britney Spears hotness!

And we're not talking about the pop princess' upcoming Glee episode. We are very happy to report...

Brit is back in the studio making some new music. Uber-producer Sean Garrett tells us he's set to reunite with Spears on a song or two. He co-produced and sang on "Toy Soldier" from her 2007 album, Blackout.

"I'm going into the studio with her," Garrett told us yesterday at the VMAs. "I love Britney. I want to help her grow. I want to do stuff that's going to be able to travel around the world."

Spears' last album, Circus, was released in November 2008 and was followed by a world tour. "I'm glad to see her back," Garrett said. "I really would like to get into her mind and find out what loving Britney is all about."

Lindsay Lohan “SNL” Host? Lohan In Talks To Host “Saturday Night Live” Dec. 4

Could a hosting stint on Saturday Night Live be the key to career resurgence for scandal-prone actress Lindsay Lohan? Hey, it worked for Betty White!

Lohan is in chats to host SNL on Dec. 4, a tipster familiar with the deal squealed to The New York Daily News on Monday. LiLo has hosted the show twice previously — once at the pinnacle of her fame in 2004 and again in 2006. If the deal goes through, Lindsay’s latest gig as host of NBC’s long-running sketch comedy show would come at the end of a three year downward spiral for the star, characterized by addiction, multiple trips to rehab, and a stint behind bars.

Nonetheless, flanked by Britney Spears’ former manager — Larry Rudolph — Lohan is hitting the ground heels first in a bid to salvage what’s left of her floundering career as a Hollywood starlet. The move comes just a day after Linds proved that she’s open to poking fun at her fall from grace. In the opening sketch for Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards a jovial Lindsay surprised host Chelsea Handler in the hall before the show and promptly poked fun at her own personal problems — even cracking a joke about Chelsea’s SCRAM bracelet and checking her cup for booze before sending the comedienne on her way with a big slap on the bottom for good luck.

Facebook CEO Admits To Calling Users 'Dumb Fucks'

Mark Zuckerberg admits in a New Yorker profile that he mocked early Facebook users for trusting him with their personal information. A youthful indiscretion, the Facebook founder says he's much more mature now, at the ripe age of 26.

"They trust me — dumb fucks," says Zuckerberg in one of the instant messages, first published by former Valleywag Nicholas Carlson at Silicon Alley Insider, and now confirmed by Zuckerberg himself in Jose Antonio Vargas's New Yorker piece. Zuckerberg now tells Vargas, "I think I've grown and learned a lot" since those instant messages.

And yet the old quote resounds precisely because Facebook continues to stir up privacy controversies at regular intervals. Zuckerberg justifies his privacy rollbacks by saying the social norms have changed in favor of transparency, but, as tech executive Anil Dash tells the New Yorker, that sort of change is much more appealing for a privileged, Ivy Leaguer golden boy of Silicon Valley like Zuckerberg than for his half a billion users, many of whom work for less tolerant bosses and socialize in more judgmental circles.

Galaxy Tab, red / white BlackBerry Torch and Samsung Focus hitting AT&T in Q4

Mmm, delicious. That's the feeling we're left with after being inundated with yet another round of AT&T leaks, this time giving us insight at a few flagship devices on tap for the carrier's holiday push. First up is the Galaxy Tab -- an Android 2.2-based tablet that we had previously heard rumored for AT&T's airwaves. Thanks to a branded snapshot from the carrier's internals, we can confirm that the Tab will indeed be sold on Ma Bell, and it (along with three other new Android devices) will ship "prior to December." Moving on, we've got even more confirmation that the Samsung Cetus (i917) will be one of the operator's first Windows Phone 7 devices, and it looks as if a heretofore unheard of Samsung Focus and HTC Surround will be joining it. Better still, we've got it on good authority that three other WP7 handsets will be splashing down alongside those others in time for the holidays. As for the remaining BlackBerry loyalists, AT&T will be tempting you with a trio of limited run Torch motifs coming in "mid to late November," with an all-white version, red / black model and olive colored edition on tap. We'll be keeping an ear to the ground for more, naturally.

SNSD to release Japanese version of Gee in October?

There’s rumors floating around that Shoujo Jidai (SNSD / Girls’ Generation) is scheduled to release a Japanese version of their hit Korean single ‘Gee’ on October 20th. As many of you know, the girls released the Japanese version of ‘Genie’ last week and achieved second place on the Oricon Daily Charts.

The source of the rumor is the same source that released information about Shoujo Jidai’s initial release of Genie. So although there’s no official announcement, the likelihood of this rumor being true is pretty high.

Miley Cyrus Makes Out With On-Again Beau

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are definitely back on.

The two locked lips Monday morning in her Mercedes Benz SUV in Los Angeles.

On Saturday, they were spotted together at Cyrus' Toluca Lake, Calif., house before hitting a Panera Bread shop and Starbucks.

Cyrus, 17, and Hemsworth, 20 -- who announced their split last month -- are dating again, a source close to the couple confirms to UsMagazine.com.

"She got back from Paris and they reunited," says the insider.

Despite being photographed with her LOL costar Douglas Booth, the source says he and Cyrus are "just friends."

Angelina Jolie: ‘I Love my Tattoos’

ANGELINA Jolie has spoken about her body art in the latest issue of Australian magazine Post-Modern Ink.

“I love them,” Jolie, who raises six children with partner Brad Pitt, said of her tattoos.

“They’re body art. I don’t think it’s abnormal that someone who spends their life in other skins wants to claim their own by marking things on it that matter to them. My most recent is five vertical rows of ancient Cambodian script. It’s on my back and looks very sacred.

“Getting my dragon was perhaps the biggest surprise. I was in Amsterdam and got a little crazy, dropping my pants at a tattoo parlour and woke up the next morning and saw this really funny dragon.

“I’ve always wanted a dragon but this one had a funny blue tongue. To me a dragon is very much a woman, strong and elegant.”

Jolie then spoke about claims she once stabbed her ex Billy Bob Thornton.

“There was one when Billy and I were together that said I had stabbed him and then went into a nut house or something,” she said.

“I thought that was kind of funny. If I wanted to have killed him, I would have killed him.”

Photos Fuel Penélope Cruz Pregnancy Rumors

Baby bump or costume?

Photos of Penélope Cruz on the set of her upcoming movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, have sparked buzz that the recently married actress, 36, could be pregnant.

Cruz, who is married to Eat Pray Love star Javier Bardem, 41, was snapped in Puerto Rico sporting a flowing top and a possible bump.

The new photos add to pregnancy speculation based on pictures of the actress wearing a figure-hiding trench coat in L.A. recently.

Are action video gamers better decision makers?

We've already reported on findings that playing action video games may improve vision, and some studies indicate that video gamers even make better surgeons.

Now, researchers at the University of Rochester have found that first-person shooter players excel at probabilistic inference--that is, making fast, accurate decisions based on evidence extracted from their surroundings.

What's more, even those who don't normally play action video games improved their inference skills after being forced to play just 50 hours over those who don't play at all.

So are action video gamers better decision makers? The short answer appears to be yes, according to the researchers who report their findings this week in Current Biology, but with an asterisk: those who don't consider themselves action gamers appear just as able to hone these skills if they, well, start gaming.

Researchers compared the skills of action gamers versus non-gamers by presenting both groups with simple decision-making experiments, where people appeared in the form of an array of dots and the volunteers had to discern the person's main direction of movement. They made this task easier and harder by adding to or taking away the number of dots moving in one direction.

Intel "Sandy Bridge" hybrid graphics won't support DirectX 11

Today during the IDF keynote speech Intel demoed its “Sandy Bridge” hybrid graphics-microprocessor chip, and confirmed that the standalone chip won’t support DirectX 11 graphics.

“Sandy Bridge” is the beginning of what Intel calls its “Processor Graphics” line and is the chip giant’s attempt at killing off, or at least profiting from, the entry-level GPU market by incorporating a GPU on the same silicon as the CPU. The platform is a successor to the Nehalem/Westmere architecture and places the CPU and GPU on the same die. The single-die design means that both the CPU and GPU can make use of the on-chip cache.

Also updated is the Turbo Mode. This is a feature already present in Core i7 and i5 CPUs. On “Sandy Bridge” this mode allows the CPU to suck more power than the rated TDP allows as long as the CPU/GPU is cool enough to do so safely.

Brooklyn Decker: Marrying Young Runs in the Family

By modern standards, Brooklyn Decker was on the young side when she walked down the aisle with Andy Roddick last year at age 22. But for both the bride and groom's families, there was nothing unusual about it.

"It wasn't weird for me," Decker tells the latest issue of Page Six Magazine. "My mom got married when she was 19, and my husband's parents got married young – in their 20s. And both sets of parents are still together. We're so lucky. We had that influence around us, and basically, it came down to the fact that neither of us had to get married."

With Roddick – now 28 – a world-class tennis player and Decker thriving as a swimsuit model, the couple couldn't see a reason to wait.

"We both were successful on our own, we both had our own income, we both had our friends, but it's just what we wanted," Decker says. "It was never part of my plan to get married young, but we did it because we really wanted to."

One challenge of the fledgling marriage so far? Putting up with Roddick's celebrity infatuations.

"Andy definitely has crushes," Decker says. "He loves women in their 40s and 50s. He loves Christie Brinkley and Diane Lane. A woman who's graceful and has it all together. So not me."

How did Lindsay Lohan end up in Chelsea Handler's opening skit of last night's MTV Video Music Awards?

Source tells us that MTV producers pitched the idea to LiLo last week.…

Lohan agreed to describe herself as a "drunk" in the skit as long as show host Handler said, "You turned your life around, maybe I can, too." Lohan had never met the E!'s late-night chat show host before they taped the segment on Friday, but we're told she was well aware that Handler has been pretty harsh about her and the rest of the Lohan bunch.

As we were the first to tell you, Lohan's appearance was to be a surprise, but buzz began after she was spotted she Handler were spotted together on Friday at the Nokia Theater Live. (Lohan vamoosed after the taping, and headed back to Long Island to spend the weekend with her family.)

More Than 20 Percent Of iPhone 3GS Owners Still Have To Upgrade To iOS 4

In the smartphone world, it is generally a good thing to keep everyone on the latest operating systems by pushing out upgrades. To the extent that iPhone or Android can get their installed base of users on the latest and greatest OS, the more those users can enjoy new apps built to take advantage of the new features of the OS. But when it comes to pushing software upgrades, Android has the upper hand because it can push them over the air, whereas the iPhone still requires users to download the upgrade to their computer first and then transfer it over to their iPhones with a cable.

Some people just never upgrade. Apple released its latest iPhone operating system, iOS 4, back in June. It came installed on new the iPhone 4, but was also pushed through iTunes to existing iPhone 3GS owners. Yet two months after the release, more than 20 percent of iPhone 3GS users still had not upgraded, according to an estimate by mobile analytics firm Localytics.

The star's rep had no comment.

The insider adds that Lopez, 41, was selected as replacement for recently departed judge Kara DioGuardi -- not Ellen DeGeneres, who quit the show on her own accord.

Boxee Box ditches NVIDIA's Tegra 2 for Intel CE4100, pre-orders start today at $199

The wait for the Boxee Box is nearly over -- pre-orders begin today -- but before you drop a stack of change on D-Link's half-sunk cube, know that there's no longer an NVIDIA Tegra 2 under that tiny hood. At the last minute, Boxee switched to the Intel Atom CE4100, the same up-to-1.2GHz Sodaville chip powering Google TV. That's not all, as manufacturer D-Link told us our good friend Avner Ronen may not be able to keep his promise -- though the company still expects the Box to hit the streets at under $200, we're now looking at a $229 suggested retail price. What could possibly have happened to make these drastic changes? We visited Boxee in person to get an explanation, and you'll find the surprisingly simple (yet NVIDIA-damning) answer right below.

Update: We just learned that Amazon will be selling it for $199, though the MSRP will remain $229.

At a rendezvous in San Francisco, Avner Ronen told us the decision to abandon Tegra 2 was about performance and nothing more: "The major problem we had with the Tegra 2 was support for high-profile HD playback," he said. "You can do high-profile VC-1 with Tegra 2, but not H.264." It was a problem of bitrate, he told us, and while NVIDIA's dual-core Tegra T20 was apparently not up to the task, the team had internally tested Intel's CE4100 decoding streams at up to 90 megabits per second. The newly revamped Boxee Box is now capable of 1080p H.264 playback at 60fps, and... well, that's actually about it. While you'd think that gutting a system might involve a few more tweaks, we were informed that otherwise the Boxee experience is exactly the same, and and you can see for yourself just how little has changed hardware-wise in our gallery above. There's still hardware-accelerated Flash 10.1 playback, the same speedy UI and codecs, the same QWERTY-packing RF remote and all the same ports -- though it does have a freshly updated tally of over 400 apps, plus that new HTML5-compliant WebKit browser.
