Come on, you knew this post was coming. Here we have a prototype Nokia E7 and its new 4-inch, 640x360 pixel Clear Black Display pitted again the iPhone 4's 3.5-inch 960x640 pixel Retina display. To our eyes, the iPhone 4 display has a noticeable blue warmth and wasn't as vibrant or bright as the CBD. The CBD, however, did come across a bit oversatured (just look at those red "breaking news" bars), but hey, it's AMOLED. It certainly looks just as good as the Galaxy S' Super AMOLED. We'll have to see how the polarized layer on the CBD affects sunlight viewing. More on that later. Until then, play nice dear readers.

Wow. That's the feeling that hits when you pick up the Nokia E7 for the first time. That 4-inch "Clear Black" display really pops as you'd expect from AMOLED and the full QWERTY slider is packed into an incredibly svelte and attractive form factor. Impressions coming up shortly. Until then, check out the E7 next to its N8 cousin and iPhone 4 foe.
Follow the break for some quick thoughts on this bad boy.

Nokia C7

We've just played with both black and silver versions of Nokia's just-announced C7 -- a phone that you might call an N8 for the masses -- and we think it's probably going to come away with the "sexiest Symbian device" crown by the time it's on shelves. We're a little concerned with screen sensitivity; on both the C7 and C6-01, we had a little difficulty getting home screen swipes to actuate -- but you never know what the deal is with these well-handled protos, so we're going to hold off on passing judgment until we've got retail units in our hands. The black's a little unnotable, but the silver really pops in person -- maybe it's just the lighting -- and the screen seems to perform nearly as well as the C6's so-called ClearBlack AMOLED, so unless you need a monster cam, the C7 might be your Symbian^3 device of choice when it launches later this year. Hit the gallery for shots of both colors!
Update: The display seemed to look as good as the C6-01's because we've confirmed that it is ClearBlack! Rock on.

So the C7 might be the sexiest Symbian^3 device... but the C6-01, well, it just may be the cutest. Just all depends on what you're looking for (and how much you're willing to spend), you know? Like the C7, we had a little difficulty getting screen swipes to register while trying to change home screens, but considering that the top of the bezel had the very prototypish "C0" mystery name badge, we're more than happy to cut it a little slack. Having come directly from the C7, it's a little tricky to be comfortable with the smaller display -- not to mention the thicker body -- and the back definitely tends toward the cheap side with matte hard plastic, but again, this is clearly designed to be a budget device. And hey, how many budget smartphones can you think of with AMOLED displays that have extreme black levels? Check out the gallery for a few shots.

Nokia's just unveiled its aluminum-clad E7 QWERTY slider handset. One of the new family of Symbian^3 devices, it has a 4-inch tilting touchscreen display on the front and an 8 megapixel imager on the back. Yummy. It's said to be the best business device Nokia, or anyone else, has ever produced and comes with the touted ability to create PowerPoint slides on the go. The E7 is expected to ship before the end of the year more pics below.

So Nyeo Shi Dae has once again written a new history on Oricon chart.
According to Japanese music chart Oricon charts on 14th September, the girls are up #4 on the weekly chart. This is just 1 week into the official release of their Japanese debut single, which sold a record of 40~50K, surpassing the results achieved by KARA, achieving the best results any Korean idols have achieved with their debut single album.
Oricon chart wrote, “9-member Korean group So Nyeo Shi Dae’s debut Japanese single ‘Genie’ sold over 40~50 K copies in the first week of its release, went up to #4 on the weekly rankings in just 20 over days. This is the best results so far for any foreign female singers including KARA who released their debut single ‘Mister’ on 23rd August which went up to as high as #5 on the weekly chart.”
An official revealed, “This is results better than we expected. If such results are to continue, we expect even more daebak and better results for their next promotion period.”

It's well known around these parts that if you aspire to be a highly desirable smartphone, you have to leak out in three clearly delineated stages: pictures, video, and specs. We've seen the i8700 a couple of times already now, and the specs can probably be extrapolated from Windows Phone 7's stringent hardware profiles, but the video, that was the bit that was missing. Until now, of course. Slide past the break to see it smoothly sailing through the now familiar WP7 interface. The video's focus is soft, but it won't get in the way of seeing some truly buttery processing of touch input.

It's been no secret that Google TV is scheduled to arrive sometime this fall and we've already seen the Logitech Revue box hardware pass the FCC, but a tipster has just shared an internal Best Buy document with us disclosing that the original planned launched date was October 3rd, and it's now been mysteriously pushed back by two weeks. That would pin the official launch as October 17th, which is certainly later then what Intel's chief recently hinted at. While it's certainly not definitive proof, considering the fact that Best Buy is an official partner of Google TV and the dates timing relative to the upcoming holiday season, we don't think this leak is all that far fetched. Let's not forget that schedule would also place its release a little more than two weeks after the suggested ship date of Cupertino's new hobby. Sure, Google's mantra may be "do no evil", but that doesn't mean they can't try to rain on Job's parade every now and again right? Oh and for all the eloquent waxing you could want on Google's assault on the living room, make sure you check our editorial on the platform if you happened to miss it.

Jimmy Lin, Dylan Kuo, and Zhao Liang appeared on Hunan TV “快乐大本营” to promote the new series Single Princess and Blind Dates. Even though the new father can still dazzle girls in idol series he shows his fatherly love when talking about his son. His net worth is reported to be over 1B rmb but he regrets that he can’t spend more time with his son. His wife will be a stay-home mom while he supports the family.
As the first generation of idols Jimmy captured the hearts of girls with his handsome face. Time hasn’t made its marks on his babyface but the birth of his son proved that the “Little Whirlwind” has grown up. He used to evade questions about his love life but now he talks openly about his son. “Now I talk to him daily via webcam. He’s excited to see me.” Jimmy smiled and said he has changed a lot since becoming a father. “I used to do whatever I pleased and not worrying too much. But now with a sweet burden I have a responsibility. As long as I can see his smile everything is worth it. After becoming a father I stay home more. I don’t go out for nothing. Just to hold him and watch him falls asleep is my best satisfaction.” Even though he still looks childish but Jimmy said he is good at changing diapers and bathing the baby and is a super dad.

Today’s season premiere of Ellen features a post-VMAs interview between vegan DeGeneres and carnivore-couture spokeswoman Lady Gaga. (Video’s embedded after the break.) PETA has already responded to the “meat dress” designed by Franc Fernandez that Gaga wore to accept the award for Video of the Year by issuing a statement including the rhetorical question: “What’s next: the family cat made into a hat?” Don’t think she won’t take you up on that, activists! Anything is possible.
Lady Gaga’s response to Ellen’s gentle prompt — “What is the purpose of the meat?” — was about as jam-packed with crazy as a Top Round London Broil is crammed with protein and other important nutrients. Behold:
Mmm, delicious. That's the feeling we're left with after being inundated with yet another round of AT&T leaks, this time giving us insight at a few flagship devices on tap for the carrier's holiday push. First up is the Galaxy Tab -- an Android 2.2-based tablet that we had previously heard rumored for AT&T's airwaves. Thanks to a branded snapshot from the carrier's internals, we can confirm that the Tab will indeed be sold on Ma Bell, and it (along with three other new Android devices) will ship "prior to December." Moving on, we've got even more confirmation that the Samsung Cetus (i917) will be one of the operator's first Windows Phone 7 devices, and it looks as if a heretofore unheard of Samsung Focus and HTC Surround will be joining it. Better still, we've got it on good authority that three other WP7 handsets will be splashing down alongside those others in time for the holidays. As for the remaining BlackBerry loyalists, AT&T will be tempting you with a trio of limited run Torch motifs coming in "mid to late November," with an all-white version, red / black model and olive colored edition on tap. We'll be keeping an ear to the ground for more, naturally.

There’s rumors floating around that Shoujo Jidai (SNSD / Girls’ Generation) is scheduled to release a Japanese version of their hit Korean single ‘Gee’ on October 20th. As many of you know, the girls released the Japanese version of ‘Genie’ last week and achieved second place on the Oricon Daily Charts.
The source of the rumor is the same source that released information about Shoujo Jidai’s initial release of Genie. So although there’s no official announcement, the likelihood of this rumor being true is pretty high.

In the smartphone world, it is generally a good thing to keep everyone on the latest operating systems by pushing out upgrades. To the extent that iPhone or Android can get their installed base of users on the latest and greatest OS, the more those users can enjoy new apps built to take advantage of the new features of the OS. But when it comes to pushing software upgrades, Android has the upper hand because it can push them over the air, whereas the iPhone still requires users to download the upgrade to their computer first and then transfer it over to their iPhones with a cable.
Some people just never upgrade. Apple released its latest iPhone operating system, iOS 4, back in June. It came installed on new the iPhone 4, but was also pushed through iTunes to existing iPhone 3GS owners. Yet two months after the release, more than 20 percent of iPhone 3GS users still had not upgraded, according to an estimate by mobile analytics firm Localytics.

Remember that Defy that Motorola outed at the front end of this month? Turns out the Europeans won't be the only ones seeing it this Christmas, as Moto has just revealed that it'll be hitting US airwaves exclusively on T-Mobile "in time for the holidays." You already know the details -- a 3.7-inch WVGA scratch-resistant touchpanel, plenty of rigidity, Android 2.1, the ability to withstand dust and water, a five megapixel camera (with flash and auto focus), DLNA support and the outfit's own Blur interface (despite Jha's claims that it would fade from view) -- but it looks as if you'll have to wait a tick to find out anything about pricing. How long? Tune into today's farewell season premiere of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" to find out. Yeah... strange. But true!

The beginning of the end is here for devoted fans of The Oprah Winfrey Show. After more than 4,400 episodes and 28,000 guests, The Queen of Daytime kicks off her 25th and final season today with a dance with John Travolta and a “Love Train” with The O’Jays.
On her 19th season premiere in 2004, Oprah gave a car to the nearly 300 people in her studio audience. She famously exclaimed: “You get a car! You get a car! You get a car! Everybody gets a car!” No free whips in 2010, however, the show is promising many surprises as O prepares to embark on a new era of television as frontwoman of The Oprah Network.
