It's Gossip Boy! Leighton Meester wears a suit and tie on the red carpet

As Blair Waldorf on hit TV show Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester is the epitome of the stylish, feminine New York girl.

But the 24-year-old cut a very different figure tonight on the red carpet for the IFP's 20th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York.

Instead of wearing a typical gown or cocktail dress, the actress opted for a very masculine, daring suit and tie.

This was in direct contrast to her fellow attendees, especially Black Swan co-stars Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis.

Kunis decided on a navy blue strapless belted dress, while Portman went for a black off-the-shoulder number.

And it's likely the pair, who are very good friends in real life, discussed what to wear with each other now that the film was finished and they were allowed to spend time with each other off set again.

Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal Share Coffee – Again

Baristas, be on the lookout: Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift may soon be ordering maple lattes at your shop.

The revved-up duo have been spending more time in coffee houses recently than the cast of Friends, getting their caffeine as they conduct their own little java tour.

They're showing no signs of slowing down, with the latest sighting on Tuesday when they stopped into the Frothy Monkey in Nashville around 10 a.m., their second trip to the shop – they were there on Sunday, also.

"Apparently Jake likes a cappuccino with maple syrup," says a source who saw him order the drink. "Frothy has the real deal in the maple syrup department."

On Monday, Swift, 20 and Gyllenhaal, 29 – who so far have been said to tip well – sampled cups of Joe at another Nashville shop called Crema.

On Saturday, the pair ducked into Fido, a coffeehouse and café near Vanderbilt University and Music Row.

Even the Thanksgiving holiday didn't dampen their need for a fix. There were more maple lattes on the menu at Gorilla Coffee in Brooklyn, N.Y., when the two stars popped in for specialty maple lattes made with pure Vermont syrup.

Then there was that fun-packed weekend in New York in October, when they brunched with another couple at Al Di La in Brooklyn and, says an onlooker, looked "friendly." It's probably a safe bet to say they both ordered … coffee.

Dell Inspiron Duo review

When Dell first demoed the Inspiron Duo and its vertically rotating screen on stage at IDF in September, our mouths nearly hit the floor. It looked like a plain old netbook until its 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen did a magical backflip and folded down over its keyboard to morph into a tablet. It was like nothing we'd ever seen before. And we actually figured it would be the sort of system that would stay locked up in Dell's labs, but when its specs were revealed -- a dual-core Atom N550 processor, 2GB of RAM, and Broadcom Crystal HD accelerator -- it became evident that the netbook / tablet hybrid was the real deal. Running Windows 7 Home Premium and Dell's new Stage interface, the $550 netvertible has the potential to successfully straddle both the netbook and tablet world. It also has a real shot at being the perfect device for those wavering between buying a netbook and a tablet. Indeed, the Duo is filled to the brim with potential, but what's the thing really like to use? We've spent the last few days with the Duo (and its Duo Audio Station) to find out, so hit the break for the official review!

Apple reportedly names next-gen iPad camera supplier

Rumors that Apple’s next-generation iPad will include at least one camera gain purchase Tuesday morning as a new report suggests Apple has named its camera lens supplier for its upcoming tablet. Citing market rumors instigated by a public filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange, DigiTimes reports that Largan Precision has been awarded a contract that will make it the sole supplier of lens modules for the second-generation iPad. Largan also supplies 5-megapixel cameras for Apple’s iPhone 4. The inclusion of a front-facing camera for FaceTime video chat is almost a given at this point, and the iPad will also reportedly include a rear-facing camera — possibly the same 5-megapixel optics currently found in the iPhone 4. Following the trail of unsubstantiated reports out of Taiwan, Largan joins Ibiden, Tripod Technology and TTM Technologies as PCD suppliers for Apple’s upcoming iPad sequel. The second-generation iPad is expected to begin shipping in the first quarter of 2011.

Ada Choi, 37, is Pregnant!

Congratulations! After two years of marriage, Ada Choi is finally pregnant!

It was the actress' husband Max Zhang who told the news. The actor attended to a celebration event for movie "Team of a Miracle: We Will Rock You" and announced the news after being asked by reporters. But he did not disclose how many months his wife is pregnant for.

"You guys ask Ada. I just know about it," he said, "We don't know the sex of the baby yet, but it doesn't matter, as long as he/she is healthy!"

But according to Mary Hong, who is currently filming a Mainland series with the mom-to-be, she should be more than 3-months pregnant.

The "Fly With Me" actress still has to work even though she is pregnant. Husband Max expressed the job is decided before the pregnancy. To take care of his pregnant wife well, he hired 2 additional assistants to take care of her meals. He also disclosed she plans to return home before Chinese New Year.

Rob Pattinson & Kristen Stewart: All Work, No Beers

If Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were ever bothered by the constant paparazzi and tabloid attention to their private lives during the making of Eclipse, director David Slade says he didn't know anything about it.

And even if he did, Slade wasn't about to get involved in any of the dramarama.

It's not that he didn't care, but…

"We had a very tight schedule so there wasn't much time to be too sympathetic, to be honest," Slade told me earlier today while promoting this week's release of the Eclipse DVD (out Dec. 4). "We had to go. We had to shoot. We had shoot after shoot after shoot. We had a 50-day schedule which isn't normally what you have for a film of this scale.

"So we just had to crack on," he continued. "If anything, there wasn't time to go, 'How are you feeling today? Are you all right? What's going on?'"

They were so busy that Slade says he never even had the chance to get to know Pattinson, Stewart and the rest of the cast too well. "All the time we spent together was working," he said. "We never hung out and had a beer. We were rehearsing. If we weren't rehearsing, we were shooting. If we weren't rehearsing or shooting, we were sleeping."

Taylor Lautner Meets the Parents

We told you last week that things were oddly getting more serious between Taylor Lautner and his costar slash girlfriend Lily Collins, and it doesn't look like they are slowing down.

According to Marie Claire, Tay recently met Lily's famous pop Phil Collins—and it seems he has given his werewolf stamp of approval.

So are these two the real deal? Here's what we're hearing:

Marie Claire reports that Lautner "impressed" Phil, who is usually a tough critic on Lily's choice in boys.

That doesn't surprise us at all, 'cause trust, T.L. is oh so charming when he flashes those pearly whites. Those on Team Edward are about the only folks that little six-pack can't impress.

According to some of our Breaking Dawn insiders, the cast and crew are very aware of Taylor's current gal-pal, and seem to like these two together.

We hear that Lily has visited Lautner in Louisiana, where he has been filming the final Twilight installments. And unlike another certain high-profile couple (hint: not Robsten), our sources confirm these two make it a point to stay under the radar.

Microsoft reiterates copy and paste is Windows Phone 7's first update, 'additional updates delivered in the future'

Chris Walsh -- one of the forces behind the ChevronWP7 app sideload hack for Windows Phone 7 -- went on record earlier this week saying that the first platform update coming early next year would be "massive" with so many improvements and new features that "they could have called it Windows Phone 8." That's a pretty bold statement, and it's been making the rounds so fiercely today that Microsoft felt the need to lay down the law with an official statement -- albeit not a very strongly-worded one:

"Microsoft is committed to delivering regular updates to the Windows Phone experience. Our first update will make copy & paste available in early 2011. In addition to this first update, all Windows Phone 7 users should expect to see additional updates delivered in the future as part of Microsoft's ongoing update process."

So it sounds to us like priority one in Redmond is to get copy and paste up and running (which is basically the message they've been delivering for a while), though we should expect plenty more through future updates. When you figure in the size of the team Microsoft has built for engineering this platform -- and the fact that they've now got the initial retail release out of the way -- we're hoping they've got nothing better to do than to churn on some of these pain points users have identified over the next few months. Should be a heck of a year coming up, eh?

Johnny Depp to Vanity Fair: Disney Couldn't Stand My 'Gay' Jack Sparrow

Johnny Depp graces the cover of the January issue of Vanity Fair--and in the accompanying interview the actor talks about avoiding the paparazzi with Angelina Jolie, the executives at Disney who didn't like his interpretation of Caption Sparrow in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movies and how he almost became a musician instead of an actor. Rock legend Patti Smith, guest-writing for the magazine, conducted the interview.

"Meeting her and getting to know her was a real pleasant surprise," Depp reveals about Jolie, his co-star in 'The Tourist.' "You don't know what she might be like--if she has any sense of humor at all. I was so pleased to find that she is incredibly normal, and has a wonderfully kind of dark, perverse sense of humor."

More excerpts from the interview after the jump.

On avoiding the paparazzi while filming with Jolie:
"[Always] having to hide, sometimes not even being able to talk to each other in public because someone will take a photograph and it will be misconstrued and turned into some other sh--."

On Disney executives not liking his interpretation of Captain Sparrow:
"They couldn't stand him. They just couldn't stand him. I think it was Michael Eisner, the head of Disney at the time, who was quoted as saying, 'He's ruining the movie.'

Source: 'Dancing With the Stars' Wants Lindsay Lohan

Even though her 'Inferno' director expressed huge relief that he'd replaced her with another actress, Lindsay Lohan's career is far from over. A source tells RadarOnline.com that reality TV sensation 'Dancing With the Stars' is interested in adding Lohan to the cast next season.

"'Dancing with the Stars' producers have had Lindsay on their wish list of castmates for a very long time," a source with knowledge of the situation told RadarOnline.com Tuesday. And though they've been wary of Lohan's history before, they are taking notice of her recent and productive stay at Betty Ford treatment center.

"The producers were concerned about her erratic behavior, but they are taking another look at asking her to come on for the next season because she is doing so well at her sober living facility," the source said. "The producers are aware that she would be available because she isn't going to be filming 'Inferno.'"

The source also tells RadarOnline.com that Lohan's next career choice will be heavily tied to what's best for her sobriety. "Lindsay won't be making any decisions about what she chooses for her next project without consulting first with her treatment team. This wasn't mandated by the court, her advisors or medical team, but Lindsay has taken that step herself, which is a very, very positive sign," the source added.

LG Star struts its stuff on film, toys with an iPhone 4 (video)

We can't get enough of the world's first Tegra 2 smartphone, the LG Star, so if the 4-inch diva wants a closeup while parading about Tel Aviv, who are we to argue? GSM Israel somehow managed to obtain the same dual-core Android 2.2 handset we glimpsed earlier this afternoon, complete with 8 megapixel camera and HDMI port. Though we don't have the foggiest idea what they're saying in the video after the break, the LG-P990 certainly seems to be a speedy little machine in side-by-side webpage load tests with the fan-favorite iPhone 4, though we seem to detect a hint of hesitation when the Star's capacitive touchscreen gets brushed. Chalk it up to faux embarrassment, we suppose. Video after the break.

Firefox 4 beta 8 slated for Dec 7

Firefox 4 Beta 8 is now slated for availability on December 7.

Beta 8 was tentatively scheduled for release Nov 30th but the team continues to fix blockers, nail down security holes and synchronization issues.

The open source browser team plans at least two more beta releases before making available a release candidate. Firefox 4 is not expected to be available until the first quarter of 2011.

“There is a pending change to the way Sync UI works for adding another client which needs to be simultaneously shipped with Fennec 2 beta 3,” according to Mozilla meeting notes on Beta 8. “Based on the Fennec Beta 3 schedule, which is targeting Dec 7th as ship, we feel it’s best to align beta 8 with that date.”

The team reported today that crashes are down considerably.
  • based on the Fennec Beta 3 schedule, which is targeting Dec 7th as ship, we feel it’s best to align Beta 8 with that date
  • there is a pending change to the way Sync UI works for adding another client

After School’s comeback album cover revealed

Earlier in the month, it was revealed that After School was returning to the K-pop scene in December. Originally, it was thought that they were returning on December 2nd but it’s now been revealed that they’re returning on December 7th with a single titled ‘Love Love Love.’ In addition to the news of this single release, Pledis recently updated their website with the album cover from the upcoming single.

The album cover the girls looking beautiful in pink with the title “Happy Pledis”. However, one thing that’s very noticeable is that the photo only shows seven of the girls, it seems for some reason Bekah won’t participate in this round of the promotions.

"Shao Lin" to come out soon, Andy Lau hopes Nicholas Tse can be a bit more naïve.

In the movie, Andy Lau plays a warlord, he gets betrayed by Nicholas Tse and ends up in Buddhism. Andy was asked to evaluate Nicholas Tse who betrayed in halfway in the movie, he was full of praise: "He's got a lot of chance among the young actors out there. If I had to talk about weaknesses, it would be that he's too willing to risk, sometimes I try to convince him not to be so risky, he has a family, but he never listens. In one scene, I had to hit him with a stick as thick as your arm, he said he didn't need extra padding, just hit directly. How could I? He could die. He's too mature, sometimes I think he can be a bit more naïve."

Cheryl Cole “X Factor America” Judging Deal $4 Million

British songstress and UK X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has reportedly secured a judging spot on the upcoming American version of the TV talent show. The former girl bander, 27, will take a seat beside fellow judge Simon Cowell, the creator of the show, when the X Factor premieres Stateside in Sept. 2011, The Sun scooped on Tuesday.

FOX bosses confirmed the deal after watching Cole on last weekend’s live show in London, at least one source told the paper.

“The execs love her good looks and the way she wears her heart on her sleeve.”

Also rumored to be joining the judges’ panel of X Factor is Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger, who made a splash when she filled-in as guest judge for Cheryl on the ITV series last summer.

Production begins next summer.

How John Mayer Almost Derailed Katy Perry-Russell Brand Romance

Can you picture a Katy Perry-John Mayer wedding? Neither can we. But "Payer" was well on its way to making sweet music together when Russell Brand intercepted her at the 2009 VMAs and snagged the "I Kissed a Girl" singer for himself.

We know they're blissfully married now. And we know they fell in love at first sight at the awards show. But it's what happened the very night before that could have thrown the entire meeting off...

See, Perry and Mayer met the previous evening at Gold Bar in New York, after weeks of exchanging flirty tweets and texts.

"They'd never met in person, and she went to meet him there after she was at a Jay-Z concert at Madison Square Garden," a source close to Mayer tells E! News.

Mayer had joined Jay-Z at MSG for a performance and afterward asked fellow showgoer Perry to meet up later that night.

EC launches antitrust probe against Google

The European Commission announced today that it's opening an investigation of Google over alleged antitrust practices in the European Union.

The probe was triggered by complaints from three search providers, which claim that Google has stifled them by unfairly manipulating certain factors related to both unpaid and paid search results.

The search providers leveling the charges are Foundem, a U.K. price comparison site; ejustice.fr, a French legal search engine; and Ciao, a U.K. search engine owned by Microsoft. These three Web sites offer vertical search services, which means they provide users with specific online information, such as price comparisons.

As part of its probe, the EC said it will examine whether Google lowered the rankings of the services provided by the three Web sites while giving its own vertical services preferential treatment in unpaid search results.

Selina is down with high fever

Selina Jen is sure is one tough cookie.

The injured singer-actress has been in recovery for over a month since her filming accident in Shanghai. Though the burns on her face and hands were healing rapidly, her legs were the major concern as they were the most badly burnt.

Selina is constantly plagued by fever and her allergy to certain medications made it harder for her to control her body temperature. But she's in good hands as her doctors had returned overnight just to look after Selina.

HIM International revealed that the doctors had used ice to bring down her temperature before finding the right medicine to bring down her fever.

Father Jen revealed on his weblog that she's stable now. Selina, he said, recently suffered her first nightmare from the accident and started crying after waking up from shock.

In other news, Taiwanese model Lin Chi-ling had made a special birthday wish yesterday for Selina to get well soon.

Lady Gaga promises 'Born This Way' will be the 'greatest album of this decade'

Lady Gaga told fans at a concert in Poland on Friday that her upcoming album, Born This Way, is going to be “the greatest album of this decade.” “I don’t know what to say,” she said though tears, as the audience cheered. “Thank you so much. I don’t know what I would do without all of you. You are the most… I just promise that, I don’t even know. I promise you I’ll never let you down. And not for nothing, the album’s finished, and it’s f—ing really good,” she said, smiling. “So whatever this is, whatever you just did, for all of us, I promise to give you the greatest album of this decade, just for you.”

Gaga told the crowd that the album would be “so much deeper than a wig or lipstick or an outfit, or a f—ing meat dress,” and that it will be “about what keeps us up at night and what makes us afraid.”

That’s a pretty tall order, Music Mixers. Do you think Born This Way will live up to it?

Dell Venue Pro will cost $149.99 and ship on December 14

The only phone in the initial batch of USA-bound Windows Phone 7 devices that got announced last month to still not be available is the Dell Venue Pro. This device is headed to T-Mobile, as we’ve already known from that semi-announcement.

And today, Dell has shed some light on what’s happening with the Venue Pro. If you order one from Dell, they’ll ship it to you on December 14. The price is $149.99. However, as you probably expected it, you’ll only get that price if you agree to a new 2-year contract with T-Mobile. You can also buy the phone outright for $499.99, but keep in mind that while it will work with T-Mobile’s 3G network, it won’t work on AT&T’s 3G.

The Dell Venue Pro has a 4.1-inch capacitive touchscreen, a vertically sliding physical QWERTY keyboard, a 5-megapixel camera, and it’s powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

Verizon hosting 4G LTE news conference tomorrow to discuss launch plans

Guess what people, Verizon's LTE network launch is really for real and the carrier has now scheduled a news conference for tomorrow where it'll discuss its December plans in more detail. Tony Melone, VZW's chief tech officer, will be on hand to answer any questions beyond the already known plans for 38 metropolitan areas to get the 4G LTE treatment -- accounting for a cool 110 million Americans who'll be able to ride the lightning of faster internet speeds on the move. The event kicks off at 12PM and we'll make sure to tune in, if only to find out what Tony's answer is to the inevitable "what is 4G" question.

Reese Witherspoon: Dating Nonactors Is Way Better Than the Jake and Ryan Circus

Dating celebrities is so overrated.

At least for Reese Witherspoon, who dishes about her love life in the latest Glamour.

The January cover girl tells the fashion mag, "It's very comfortable to be with somebody who understands my career, but doesn't do what I do."

Take that, Ryan Phillippe and Jake Gyllenhaal!

But the actress adds, "I don't want to disparage any of the other relationships that I've had that were meaningful and wonderful"—because she's just nice like that.

Reese is happily dating Hollywood agent Jim Toth and is more content and confident than ever, especially with her sexuality: "Sexuality and femininity is an accumulation of age and wisdom and comfort in your own skin. I feel better—so much better now than I ever did in my twenties. I am calmer; I know who I am. And as a result, I feel much sexier."

That would explain the vampy cover. Usually the adorable actress is working the perky, America's sweetheart angle, but not this time—Reese is smokin' in a Burberry dress with leather straps, chunky jewelry, fishnets and tousled hair.

What do you think of this sexier side of Reese? Weigh in below!

Office Depot welcomes 10-inch ViewSonic G Tablet into the fold, slaps $399 sticker on it

If your tablet wishlist includes things like Tegra 2, Android 2.2, and 1080p video playback, you might want to drop by your nearest Office Depot some time soonish. ViewSonic's G Tablet has just been made available for purchase at the store's many outlets across the US and is also supposed to be up for grabs at its online portal. We say "supposed" because we can't find it anywhere on officedepot.com, but that's probably just a temporary issue. The main point is that $399 will buy you a seat on the Froyo tablet bandwagon, a very glossy 10-inch seat with 1024 x 600 resolution.

Sony ships 4.1 million PlayStation Move controllers to retailers

A little press release from none other than Sony informed us this morning that the company has shipped 4.1 million PlayStation Move controllers worldwide. Alas, that number has been widely misreported as the tally of direct end-user sales, which it most definitely is not. What Sony's letting us know is total wands that have left its warehouses on their way to retailers, a number that's one step removed from actual sales results. Still, if you simply must have something to compare against Microsoft's 2.5 million Kinect sales, there you have it.
