Jesse James Apologizes to Sandra Bullock and His Children

Jesse James has broken his silence.

Facing allegations of infidelity, James issued an apology Thursday to his wife Sandra Bullock and his three children, taking full responsibility for their heartbreak.

In a statement provided to PEOPLE, he says:

"The vast majority of the allegations reported are untrue and unfounded. Beyond that, I will not dignify these private matters with any further public comment.

"There is only one person to blame for this whole situation, and that is me. It's because of my poor judgment that I deserve everything bad that is coming my way.

"This has caused my wife and kids pain and embarrassment beyond comprehension and I am extremely saddened to have brought this on them. I am truly very sorry for the grief I have caused them. I hope one day they can find it in their hearts to forgive me."

Lady Gaga Sued for $30 Million by Jilted Producer

A former producer to pop sensation Lady Gaga has sued his one-time protege for more than $30 million claiming he was instrumental to her success but unable to profit from it when their romance ended.

In his lawsuit, filed on Wednesday in New York State Supreme Court, Rob Fusari contends he was a key figure in transforming the ambitious young woman named Stefani Germanotta into the pop phenomenon she is today, even helping coin her moniker, Lady Gaga.

But when their romance fizzled, Fusari was cut out of her record deal, failed to be paid royalties on subsequent music sales and was shortchanged on the producer fees he was due.

"All business is personal. When those personal relationships evolve into romantic entanglements, any corresponding business relationship usually follows the same trajectory so that when one crashes they all burn. That is what happened here." the lawsuit said.

Lacey Brown: "I had the strangest feeling that I was going home'

Lacey Brown says she wasn't shocked when she learned of her elimination from American Idol Wednesday night. In fact, she felt it coming.

"I woke up yesterday morning and had the strangest feeling that I was going home," she told reporters during a conference call Thursday.

That premonition gave her time to make peace with her fate.

"It wasn't a downer moment for me; I wasn't upset," she says. "It was just, 'Okay.' It wasn't comfortable. … I wish I would have been wrong about that feeling, obviously."

Lacey says she's trying to stay positive and make the most of her situation. "I haven't put my focus on anything negative going on.

"This is a reality show, and this is a show that someone has to go home every week. The fan base is very, very, very important. I think it has been a shocker sometimes, but that's just the nature of the beast that is American Idol. That's how the show rolls."

Angelina Jolie Has A Crush On Johnny Depp’s Girlfriend

Angelina Jolie has a girl crush on Johnny Depp’s baby mama, if a new report from The National Enquirer is to be believed. French singer/model Vanessa Paradis reportedly felt uneasy after learning that her longtime beau would be sharing the screen with accused husband humper Jolie in the upcoming romantic thriller The Tourist. Paradis — who has two children with the Oscar-nominated actor — fears that Angie, 34, will set her sights on Johnny, similarly to the way she allegedly did with a then-married Brad Pitt on the set of 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

Vanessa couldn’t be more off the mark, say insiders reportedly close to Angie. In fact, snitches claim the petite and soft-spoken Vanessa is actually more the actress’ type!

"For Windows 7, SP1 includes only minor updates, among which are previous updates that are already delivered through Windows Update," Microsoft blogger Brandon LeBlanc said in a blog post.

LeBlanc said that Microsoft is not yet ready to announce a time frame for either the beta or final version of the service pack. But, he said that businesses should not wait for the update.

10 Reason Why the Apple Lawsuit with HTC Could Set Back the Mobile Industry

News Analysis: Apple's lawsuit against HTC could prove to be a long-lasting headache for the Mobile industry. HTC says it will vigorously fight Apple's lawsuit and prove that it doesn't violate the company's patents. But if HTC loses, or even if some of Apple's patents infringement claims are upheld in court, the lawsuit could set the mobile industry back in a number of ways. This is how it could happen. In a statement released earlier this week, HTC said that it plans vigorously fight the patent infringement suit Apple recently filed against it. The company contends that it is without fault and in no way violated patents Apple currently holds in any of its Android-based phones or Windows Mobile devices.

At this point, both companies are posturing. If no settlement can be reached, we can expect a long and drawn out legal battle that will cost the companies both money and time. In either case, it's not a rosy outcome for either side. But it might not be a rosy outcome for the mobile market either. Apple's lawsuit is far-reaching and if it wins on even just a few of its charges, the company could drastically change the mobile industry.

Jolin Tsai and Edison Chen stride down the catwalk for Levi’s

The two stars previously went down the catwalk for Levi’s Jeans in 2007. They were back again yesterday to model the brand’s Spring/Summer collection. Jolin Tsai and Edison Chen were expected to be on stage together. In the end, their appearances were so perfectly timed that the two were never in the place at the same time.

The show began with Jolin Tsai as the opening model, and Edison Chen appeared as the final act. They were also interviewed at different times as Jolin had hers before the show, and Edison Chen spoke with the media after the show. In her interview, Jolin commented, “(I’m) happy to see him back.”

The show ended with its models returning to the catwalk, but noticeably without its two stars. It would have been the first time Jolin Tsai and Edison Chen share the stage after his infamous scandal, but the they were kept apart to avoid any awkwardness. Jolin explained, “We are doing the separate themes and closing act.”

Ronald Cheng eyes red reluctantly gives up Ah Sa

Ronald Cheng and Charlene Choi (Ah Sa) dated for 6 years, and suddenly announced their break up the day before yesterday, making them the media's main focus. Yesterday, Ronald, Stephy Tang, Gigi Leung and Alex Fong attended the press conference for their new film "Once Upon A Chinese Classic" in GuangZhou. The Hong Kong media surrounded Ronald for interviews even before the conference started. It was rumored that the break up was due to Ronald being a playboy, he expressed: "You ask me, of course I won't admit it. You should ask Ah Sa. (Is it because of a third party?) Not at all, we both feel that its the best for us. (Because you were rumored with Angelababy, so Ah Sa broke up with you based on her instincts?) This is clearly for the film's promotions." Ronald implied that the rumors were for "All Well Ends Well 2010" promotion.

On the day the two announced their break up, there were rumors that they were already married, towards this Ronald expressed: "Right now, I have already said too much about my private life. Before the rumors about breaking up and then the secret marriage has led to too many unnecessary speculations. (You didn't denied to the marriage rumors, so there are many speculations?) That's because I don't want to have any more speculations, I just feel that its better that way. I don't want the rumors to hurt either Ah Sa or me, so I don't want to respond anymore." Ronald expressed he didn't want Ah Sa and his entire private life put out into the public for them to analyze.

Why Google Should Buy Palm

With terrible sales and no sign of turnaround, Palm's options are whittling down to one: buyout. Ex-Appler Phil Kearney sees a buyer in Google, which, in its looming megawar with Apple, might need Palm as much as Palm needs it.

In looking at the brewing battle between Apple and HTC, it is interesting to me to see everyone asking if and when Google will get involved. I think that Google will eventually have to get involved and that is exactly what Apple is anticipating. I worked at Apple for seven years guiding their home wireless development and innovation and I can tell you first hand that folks at Apple are crafty, deliberate and thoughtful. People are exactly right in assuming that Google is going to have to eventually get involved if for no other reason then the fact that some lawyer worth his salt at HTC wrote the contract with Google such that contract has indemnification clauses which require Google to get involved and Apple knows that.

T-Mobile USA eyeing iPhone launch this year or next?

We don't like to stir up the nearly constant barrage of "so-and-so is getting the iPhone" rumors unless we've got a great reason to do so -- and we'd argue that a Financial Times report involving statements from Deutsche Telekom's CEO qualifies. The British rag was chatting up DT's boss over the prospects of its American unit -- T-Mobile USA -- and stressed the company's long-term commitment to turning around T-Mobile's fortunes in the face of recent spinoff rumors, saying that it's all about rapidly building out a speedy 3G network as part of an effort this year "to lay the foundation for future growth."

Here's where it gets juicy: referring to the iPhone, the report goes on to say that "T-Mobile USA is hoping to start selling the popular smartphone later this year or next year" while focusing on Android in the meantime, as if Android is merely a stopgap measure to make it through to the singular device that can save America's number four carrier from going down the tubes. It's not clear whether FT got the chief exec making a statement to that effect on the record or it's merely gleaning this knowledge from other rumors, but the only way this would be able to happen is if the next iPhone were to come in an AWS-compatible version -- and that seems unlikely considering that AWS coverage represents a trivially small fraction of 3G subscribers around the world. Of course, wireless CEOs of all walks of life regularly make statements saying they'd be more than happy to carry the iPhone if the opportunity presented itself, so this could be little more than off-the-cuff blather anyway.

NPR and WSJ building 'Flash-free' pages for iPad, Apple quietly delays select iPad accessories

For awhile, we couldn't decide what we were more angry at: the fact that select devices wouldn't support Flash, or that Flash was simply too demanding on select devices. We still can't say with any degree of certainty which side of the fence we're on, but there's no question that Apple's refusal to play nice with Adobe on the iPhone, iPod touch and forthcoming iPad limits the abilities of those devices significantly. Curiously enough, it seems that Apple's importance in the mobile (and media delivery) realm is coercing select portals to develop Flash-free websites for those who drop by on an iDevice. Both the National Public Radio and the Wall Street Journal are furiously working on iPad-friendly websites, which will be devoid of Flash for at least the first few pages down. What's interesting is that we get the impression that this will soon become the rule rather than the exception, and it could be exactly what's needed to launch HTML5 into stardom and put these Flash or no Flash debates behind us.

Jesse James' Mistress Got $30,000 for Sex Tell-All

Michelle "Bombshell" McGee -- the tattoo artist who blabbed to the tabloid In Touch that she had an 11-month fling with biker Jesse James -- reportedly earned big bucks for opening her mouth.

According to Technorati.com, she was paid close to $30,000 for her story. (In Touch has not commented on the report.)

Contrary to McGee's claims, she was fully aware that James, 40, was still with Bullock, 45, when they had their alleged fling, the site also claims. The site reports that she thought the affair would be her ticket to "mainstream celebrity."

Bullock, 45, has yet to comment on the affair report, but has reportedly moved out of the Southern California home she shares with James and his three children. The Oscar winner also canceled her appearance at the London premiere of The Blind Side next week.

James has apologized for getting himself into the situation.

No Deal for Paula Abdul at ABC

Paula Abdul won't be judging "Star Search."

The former "American Idol" judge and ABC couldn't come to terms on Abdul judging a reboot of the classic talent show.

The outcome puts the fate of the show in doubt since ABC's interest in "Search" was heavily tied to Abdul participating in the show.

Fox offered Abdul a hefty $5 million to continue on "Idol" last year, which she rejected. Abdul was reluctant to take a lower salary for "Search." And ABC was, naturally, reluctant to indulge in such high figures for launching an untested reality show into a marketplace crowded with successful talent competitions.

The Hills starlet has parted ways with the spiritual advisor she hired to replace husband Spencer Pratt last week, a source close to The Hills star confirmed to Access Hollywood on Thursday.

According to Us Weekly, the trouble began when Aiden showed up unannounced on the set of Just Go With It — the new romantic comedy in which Heidi has a cameo role — “demanding a significant portion of her ‘Hills’ money.”

Motorola DROID update delayed?

We have heard from multiple sources that the much-awaited Android 2.1 OS upgrade due to start today, has been delayed. We’re told a last minute bug late last night was found. There is no new ETA. We’ve reached out to Verizon for confirmation.

UPDATE: Changed from a Whisper to a post as we added an image confirming this.

Palm posts $22m Q3 loss, says it liked its chances against Droid had Verizon launch been sooner

Palm gave us a heads-up back in late February that its upcoming earnings report wouldn't exactly be cause for celebration, and today the news has become official: the outfit recorded a net loss of $22 million during its fiscal Q3, which still looks rosy compared to the $98 million loss it suffered this quarter a year ago. All told, the firm shipped 960,000 smartphones in the period, which represents a 23 percent uptick from Q2 2010 and a nearly 300 percent increase compared to this quarter in 2009. Unfortunately, sell-through wasn't exactly stellar, with just 408,000 units changing hands -- that's a 29 percent decline from last quarter and a 15 percent drop year-over-year. We get the impression that it's waiting for carriers to get down to replenishment levels, but it's hard to say when that'll happen. Jon Rubinstein, Palm's chairman and CEO, was obviously not thrilled about the news, but he's mirroring statements made to employees just over a fortnight ago with this quote:

HTC A9292 'Supersonic' shows up in another inventory listing

It's anyone's guess whether we'll see this mythical Supersonic from HTC show up at CTIA next week (wouldn't that be awesome?), but a phone identified as the HTC A9292 has recently made an appearance in yet another internal system which can't be a bad sign. As a refresher, the A9292 is popularly believed to be the Supersonic, a 4.3-inch Android-powered beast for Sprint that could become one of the carrier's very first WiMAX-enabled phones. This time around, the phone's turned up in a warehouse portal used by indirect third-party dealers, which would seem like a sign that they're getting ready to distribute these bad boys; hopefully we'll know all in just a few days' time out in Vegas. Stay tuned.

USB mass storage coming to Xbox 360

Game blog Joystiq has screens of what it says is an upcoming build of the Xbox 360 system software that will allow USB mass storage devices to serve as memory units.

The feature, which Joystiq says is due out in the next few months as part of the spring system update, will turn any USB-based storage device--be it an external hard drive or a flash drive--into a memory source up to 16GB, which will work just as the Xbox 360 hard drive and memory units do. This includes allowing users to copy games to these devices, instead of having to spin up the 360's disc drive, as well as saving Live Arcade games, movies, and downloadable content.

Opera Mini for iPhone to be showcased at CTIA 2010, still no word on availability

Now the Norway-based software company is announcing that it will demo Opera Mini for iPhone again, this time during CTIA Wireless 2010, on March 23 (when it will also showcase Opera Mini 5 for Android). Opera says that this is the first time when it will “allow video recording and photography” of its mobile browser for iPhone.

Stephen Chan held a press conference : Case is still under investigation; Falsehood can’t be true.

2010/03/18 at 3:30 pm Stephen Chan held a short press conference at Regal Hong Kong Hotel at East Tsim Sha Tsui to address the ICAC case. Since his arrest on 3/11, this is his first time responding to media questions. A hundred or so reporters gathered at the venue. When the conference starts, Stephen’s lawyer, Ivan, makes his appearance first. Stephen, wearing a black jacket over his pink shirt, appears soon after, and stands behind the table letting the reporters take his pictures.

Stephen thanks his friends for their concern, as well as the Mongkok flower vendor for his buy one get one free pomelo leaves. He expresses that his daily life continues as usual, like going out to eat and for personal health check-up. And that the purpose for arranging this press conference is to avoid chaos arises from wrangling interviews.

Stephen expresses that due to the ongoing investigation, he cannot discuss the details just yet but he can speak of things that media might find interesting. Such as: “Why he wore a mask after leaving ICAC?” Stephen jests because he knew the press would be waiting for him so he wanted to look presentable, but when he was shaving he accidentally nicked his face, hence the mask. He did not want the press to misunderstand that the wound on his face came from ICAC.

Risque sex film arouses interest in Bollywood

A new film that includes sex, nudity and voyeurism has caused a stir in Bollywood as the industry tries hard to shed its traditionally conservative image.

"Love Sex Aur Dhokha" (Love, Sex And Betrayal), released on Friday, explores the idea of sex in a small town in northern India, using security cameras and other devices to track the characters of three interlinked stories.

The drama and its cast of newcomers have attracted attention as a result - not least because of stills published in the Mumbai press that show one of the female characters topless and in a passionate clinch on top of a man.

However the so-called "secretly filmed" sex scene from which they were taken did not impress the censors, who cut it to just 15 seconds.

The film currently has more than 13,000 fans on Facebook while more than 150,000 people have viewed an uncensored trailer on its official YouTube site.

Director Dibakar Banerjee said he was delighted with the interest and he rejected accusations of sensationalism.

Miley Cyrus Rips Country Music & “Rejoices” At End Of “Hannah Montana”

Young & In Love, Miley Cyrus is filming the final season of Hannah Montana — the Disney Channel series that shot her to teen superstardom — and the sometimes controversial starlet couldn’t be happier that the end of the show means she’ll no longer have to get dressed up in frilly pink outfits and a blonde wig.

“I’m going to rejoice and be happy to finally not have to be…well, to not be somebody I’m not exactly,” Miley reveals in Parade Magazine’s March 21 issue. “As I’ve grown into it, I’ve grown out of it. Does that make sense? When I was 12, I thought, ‘I want to be famous all the time! I want everybody to recognize me!’”

Britney, Boyfriend Step Out for First Time Since Breakup Report

So much for those split rumors. Two days after E! News reported that Britney Spears and boyfriend Jason Trawick had called it quits, the pair went shopping together in Los Angeles Wednesday.

Their errand: a party supply store in L.A., where the 28-year-old pop star purchased a tiara, which she quickly put on her head.

A source explained to UsMagazine that Spears and agent Trawick are "on and off," and spent the weekend together despite the breakup chatter.

The couple has been an item since mid-2009, as Spears bounced back from a tough 2008. "Most everyone else abandoned her, but Jason refused to be completely cut out of Britney's life," a source said. "He's very protective of her."

Microsoft’s European Browser Choice Screen Causes Spike In Opera Downloads

According to Opera Software, downloads of its latest desktop browser (10.5) have increased in number significantly after Microsoft started offering Windows users in Europe a choice in browser with a so-called ballot screen.

The Norwegian software maker says that on average, more than half of the European downloads of Opera’s latest browser come directly from that Choice Screen.

Microsoft confirm Copy & Paste in Windows Phone 7 is coming

With the furore over copy & paste on Windows Phone 7 – or the lack of it – you’d think smartphone users spend their days constantly transferring snippets of text from one app to the other. Still, Microsoft have confirmed that the functionality isn’t going to be MIA forever, and that in fact its absence in the first release of the platform is more one of timing than anything else.

According to istartedsomething’s conversations at MIX10 this week, the developers behind Windows Phone 7 already know exactly how they’ll be implementing copy & paste in the platform, it just won’t be ready for the first batch of devices. The timescale for WP7’s roll-out is already fixed, and there simply isn’t room to accommodate such a cross-platform feature being added without pushing back the release schedule.

So, expect copy & paste to appear in an update sometime after the first phones arrive, along with much fanfare. In the meantime, Microsoft are pointing to their heavy use of cross-app integration as a reason why the omission won’t actually be too troublesome: for instance, addresses and numbers are automatically identified and linked to Bing Maps or the phone app, meaning there’s actually less need for grabbing chunks of text and pasting them into different places.

Edison Chen reveals comeback plans

Singer-actor Edison Chen is slowly inching his way back into showbiz after his 2008 sex photo scandal which rocked Asia.

The star, who took to the catwalk at a fashion show in Taiwan on Wednesday, revealed that he will start recording his new album at the end of the month.

The album will not focus too much on love songs but rather his thoughts and feelings over the past few years, he said.

Apart from a new album, Chen, 29, also has a film project lined up.

He told reporters he will co-produce a movie with an American production company at the end of the year.

Kara vs SNSD: Who’s got the better run dance?

SNSD’s gotten everyone talking with their new Run Devil Run music video release, but it’s not just the dramatic concept switch that’s grabbing the attention of many – kpop fans have also noticed that SNSD’s ‘catch me if you can’ dance is evolving into their new hit track’s trademark move, very much like fellow gal group Kara with their emergency exit dance for Lupin.

Of course, both moves are unique in their own rights in the same way both groups have dark concepts with distinct differences – Kara’s move is obviously extremely similar to the iconic emergency exit symbol we see everywhere, whereas SNSD’s move seems like something you might see in a Bollywood dance.

Microsoft nixes barrier to Windows 7's 'XP mode'

Although Windows 7's "XP Mode" has been a welcome feature of the new operating system, there's been a fair bit of confusion brought on by the virtualization layer's hardware requirements.

To work, XP Mode has required a PC processor that supports hardware virtualization, and that feature had to be turned on in the computer's BIOS (basic input/output system). Those requirements caused some consternation, as PC owners didn't always have an easy way to tell if their system fit the bill.

Well, those requirements are no more. As part of a wave of virtualization announcements on Thursday, Microsoft said people running Windows 7 will now be able to use XP Mode without having to know whether their PC processor supports hardware virtualization.

Nokia X2 coming soon; Nokia X9 concept shows up

Nokia has officially launched only two Xseries phones: the Nokia X3 and the Nokia X6. The Finnish giant surely has more Xseries devices in the making, and one of them seems to be the Nokia X2.

According to a post found at NokiaPort (via All About Phones), the Indonesian equivalent of the FCC has approved the Nokia X2, confirming its existence.

There are few details about the X2, but it’s said that the phone has quad-band GSM connectivity and Bluetooth. Nokia’s new naming convention suggests that the X2 is a low-end handset – it will probably be cheap and thus successful.

Windows Phone 7 Tablet concept wants 3D calls [Video]

We’re still waiting for the first Windows Phone 7 series handsets to go on sale – something not expected until late in 2010 – but that hasn’t stopped the dreamers among us wondering what larger devices based on the platform might look like. Designer Umang Dokey reckons the most obvious application is an 8-inch tablet, complete with a capacitive touchscreen and dual-webcams for 3D chat, and he’s put together the demo video to prove it.

As well as spreading Microsoft’s Metro UI across a broader display, Dokey has also given it a hardware keyboard. A kick-stand on the back can flip around – Motorola BACKFLIP style – to act as a QWERTY ‘board, though we reckon the whole thing would be a little precarious in that orientation.

Kristen Stewart Channels Joan Jett... in her Underwear!

Sorry, Robert Pattinson. But you're no longer the only person to have seen Kristen Stewart in her underwear.

In a newly-released clip from The Runaways, the Twilight Saga star portrays Joan Jett and practices her iconic single "I Love Rock 'n Roll." She does so in very skimpy attire.

This is certainly a far cry from Bella Swan...

Why Microsoft Should Make IE Open Source

Microsoft is hoping the next version of Internet Explorer will help it retain the lead in the browser market, but maybe they should be considering more radical changes.

Microsoft looks to Internet Explorer 9 to help it retain the lead in browsers, and possibly increase market share. But maybe it's time for Microsoft to try something far more radical: Make Internet Explorer open source.

Microsoft is betting that IE 9's increased speed and better adherence to HTML 5 standards will stem the erosion of IE's market share. I'm not sure that's enough, though. Firefox and Chrome are gaining on IE at least in part because of the vibrant ecosystem of developers who write add-ins for those browsers.

Google Nexus One for AT&T shipping with bad displays?

We’ll be brief: we never had any issues with the screens on the first two Nexus One devices we received (T-Mobile). Well, both displays behaved the same way, and any shortcomings weren’t due to a manufacturing or color temperature problem, put it like that. When our AT&T unit showed up, everything was fine. We thought. Though when we started to use the device at night out and about the city, the black levels seemed to be really, really sub-par. It’s like the hue is completely purple/red. We’ve confirmed that this is happening to more than just our device, and we’ve reached out to Google and will update this with their response. Hit the gallery for some more comparison shots!

Google Maps 4.1 for Android brings multiple account support, trippy live map wallpaper

Google's been iterating its Maps client for Android devices at a positively ridiculous pace lately, burning through versions 3.4 and 4.0 in a span of just a few days last month -- but hey, March is upon us, which apparently means it's time for another fresh cut. This time around we're looking at 4.1, though the mere 0.1 bump in the version number really doesn't do this thing justice -- they've redesigned the results screen, added a swipe gesture for moving between results, served up a new Latitude widget for the home screen, and brought in support for multiple Google accounts (for seeing different Buzz follows, for instance). The icing on the cake, though, is a new live wallpaper for Android 2.1 phones that's a live map of your location, which sounds absurdly awesome -- assuming it doesn't beat your battery to a bloody pulp with constant GPS access, of course. It's available now from the good ol' Market for devices running Android 1.6 and up, so if you're on a device that's still stuck on Cupcake, feel free to shake your fist angrily at the sky a couple times. Interestingly, Google specifically says that the live wallpaper feature works on "Android 2.1+" devices -- a sign that the next major build is around the corner, perhaps?

Verizon HTC Incredible launch in just two weeks time?

It's a mighty aggressive schedule for a handset that hasn't even been announced yet, but the latest scuttlebutt regarding the HTC Incredible suggests that the phone will make its debut on Verizon's airwaves about two weeks from now. It was already known that the Incredible was destined for a rendezvous with Big Red, but this latest word solidifies and specifies that future nicely -- and it's claimed to come directly from internal sources at Verizon. There's also further mention of 512MB of DRAM allied to a downclocked Snapdragon CPU (capable of 1GHz, running at 768MHz), an 8 megapixel camera, a 1,300 mAh battery, and body dimensions almost indistinguishable from those belonging to the Nexus One. Good thing too, since Verizon is still keeping us waiting on a mysterious Spring release of Google's own-brand phone. We get the feeling Android 2.1 and the new Sense UI will fill that gap nicely, however, and if you really must have that 1GHz speed, there are ways to achieve such things too.

Michael Tao is not part of any ‘cliques’ or ‘parties’; speaks out against TVB

After Stephen Chan was arrested on alleged corruption charges last week, his ‘power’ at TVB has disintegrated. Recently, it has been rumored that TVB’s Assistant Manager Au Wai Lam has already taken over some of Stephen’s GM responsibilities and may eventually take his place. According to reports, Au Wai Lam is not only a low key manager who does not belong to any ‘cliques’, he is also highly favored by TVB Vice-Chairman Mona Fong. If this is true, it has been said that those artists who don’t belong to ‘cliques’ and previously fell out of favor with TVB’s management because of this – artists such as Michael Tao, Lawrence Ng, Ada Choi – may finally get a chance to ‘resurrect’ their careers!

With regard to rumors about possible ‘changes’ at TVB due to new management, Michael Tao – who ended his contract with TVB last year – expressed that he did not know whether the rumors are true or not, but took the opportunity to ‘reprimand’ TVB for not knowing how to properly utilize their resources [their people]: “TVB really needs to be more pragmatic; in the past, those artists who worked hard were not given opportunities, yet those who were ‘lazy’ and ‘don’t know what they are doing’ were given a lot of opportunities! When it’s questioned, there is no response given! I hope that TVB gets back on the proper path – a TV station is a place for ‘production’ not a place for ‘cliques’!” He also pointed out that the reason he decided to leave TVB last year was because he did not agree with the way they operate: “It’s too biased toward one side – since they use mostly their own ‘sons and daughters’, artists like me had to ‘sit on the bench’!” (Since you’ve been at TVB over 20 years, have you seen these so-called ‘cliques’ in existence?) “Of course there is favoritism – and it is unfair! They need to find a better balance and not let it get so disorderly.” (How about giving gifts to upper management?) “Well, since I’m not ‘heavily utilized’, I don’t have money to buy gifts for them!”
