Rihanna & Matt Kemp: Mexico Mates

L.A. Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp grabs onto Rihanna’s backside while vacationing together at a posh hideaway in Mexico on Monday (January 4).

According to Wiki, Kemp’s nickname is The Bison. During the second major league game of Kemp’s career, on May 29, 2006, he stole second base in the fourth inning, after which Atlanta Braves TV announcer Don Sutton said he looked “like a big buffalo running around the bases.”

Rihanna is dating a Bison!!!

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson: Spotted, Photographed in England

There's been a Robsten sighting.

And if pictures speak louder than words, it's more of a confirmation that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are dating than any quote uttered by anyone over the last few months.

After all, why else would the co-stars be seen together over the weekend on the Isle of Wight, an island located in the English Channel about five miles off the south coast of England? There's certainly no New Moon press tour going on at the moment.

But one young fan didn't just spot the rumored couple there; she snapped photos with each gorgeous star! See below:

his girl is excited to be photographed with two of her favorite stars. The Internet community is excited for proof that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are a couple!

While the love birds appear happy (and hooded) in the shots above, they'll soon be saying their goodbyes.

Stewart is scheduled to appear at the Sundance Film Festival for a few days to promote The Runaways; while Pattinson has already started has talk show rounds to make in anticipation of Remember Me.

Fortunately, Twilight Saga fans know they needn't wait long to see this pair together again on screen: Eclipse hits theaters on June 30.

15 Hottest Magazine Covergirls of the Decade

This past decade can truly be dubbed the naughties. From fashion pages to TV Guides and, of course, men’s magazines — gorgeous women don the covers to draw us in. Many covergirls have done these years justice by gracing our publications with taut bodies and luscious locks. Here are 15 of the greatest magazine covergirls of the decade so far. Who will we see at magazine stands this final year? Whoever it may be, they’ll have to keep up the pace set by these lovely ladies.

Scarlett Johansson

Actress Scarlett Johansson has graced the silver screen since her 1994 debut in the film North. She recently expanded her horizons by releasing an album in September 2009 and will be featured on Broadway. The beauty has been seen on the covers of everything from Elle to Vanity Fair. The cover above is from French Vogue, April 2009.

Angelina Jolie

Sexpot Angelina Jolie was practically born into the business — she began modeling at the age of 14, and acting at 16. She shot into superstardom after her roles in Girl, Interrupted and Tomb Raider. Here she is on the cover of Esquire, July 2007, but she has been on the cover of so many magazines — close to 175– it’d make your head hurt if she wasn’t so good to look at.

Charlize Theron

South African bombshell Charlize Theron is the first African to win an Academy Award in a major acting category, receiving it for her role in Monster. She gained status in the late 1990s with roles in The Devil’s Advocate and The Cider House Rules. She’s since graced many covers, like the sultry GQ July 2008 issue above.

Kate Beckinsale

Kate Beckinsale, British actress, is best known from her roles in Underworld, Van Helsing, and Pearl Harbor. Her first cover was in 1998, for the UK mag Deluxe, and she has since stepped up to the big leagues. She caught the cover of the November 2009 issue of Esquire, after being named the “Sexiest Woman Alive.”

Jessica Alba

Sexy Jessica Alba has been acting since the age of 13, when she first started appearing on television. She’s blossomed into quite a beauty to say the least. Alba is frequently on Maxim’s “Hot 100″ list and was named “Sexiest Woman in the World” by FHM in 2007. The cover of GQ’s April 2005 issue really got everyone’s motor going.

Britney Spears

Singer, dancer, songwriter Britney Spears revived teen pop in the 1990s with her debut … Baby One More Time. She has since been on a veritable roller coaster ride of divorce, baby momma drama and rehab, but she’s on the rebound — slowly but surely. No matter her personal history, she’s one of the most famous covergirls of the decade, gracing around 200 magazine covers around the world since 1999 — including the sweetly sexy March 2008 Blender cover above.

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt gained popularity in American culture in the FOX series Party of Five, and then later, in I Know What You Did Last Summer. She’s also done a bit of work in voice acting, but we just love to look at her. Hewitt has been a covergirl every year since 1997, in a variety of magazines — one of her recent covers being the September 2009 issue of German FHM.

Nicole Kidman

Fiery beauty Nicole Kidman is an American-born Australian actress known for her roles in Dead Calm and critically acclaimed The Hours. She first appeared as a covergirl in 1989 and has done many, many covers since then. Kidman shines most recently on the December 2009 GQ cover — looking far younger than her 42 years.

Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera burst onto the scene in 1990 on the television series Star Search, and has since turned American pop music upside down. Her look has changed over the years, going from dirty girl dreadlocks to classic glam blonde bombshell. She’s posed on many a Rolling Stone cover, scantily clad — but this August 2006 issue is our favorite.

Eva Longoria

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria captured the attention of millions of women — and men — when the ABC series took off. She was named one of FHM’s “Sexiest Women in 2008″ and has appeared on many covers since 2004. Though she’s not on as many covers as some of her compatriots on this list, she’s made an impression on us all.

Halle Berry

Gracing the covers of magazines and the silver screen, actress Halle Berry has kept us drooling since her beauty queen days. Her role in Monster’s Ball earned her an Academy Award and everyone else a pair of uncomfortable pants. Her first cover was in 1993, and her 2007 Esquire cover has the same effect today that it did then.

Jennifer Lopez

Bootylicious beauty Jennifer Lopez has kept us entertained as both a singer and actress. Though she’s most well-known now for her careers in music and movies, she actually started out as a dancer on In Living Color. Her role as covergirl has been consistent since 1998, and she dazzled on this October 2008 Elle issue.

Jessica Biel

Brunette beauty Jessica Biel played the tomboy for a chunk of her career, but worked her way into America’s heart while doing it — with her work on 7th Heaven. Once she blossomed, it was quickly noted that she was, well, hot. We’ve not gone back since and we’re thankful she’s been on as many covers as she has, looking especially stunning on the June 2009 issue of Allure.

Lindsay Lohan

Like her list counterpart Briney Spears, Lindsay Lohan has had her career — and personal — ups and downs. Lohan started off as a cute little redhead in flicks like the revamped Parent Trap, but has grown up to be quite the hottie. Putting her flops aside, we still love to look at her and her amazing covers, like the September 2009 issue of Elle.

Megan Fox

Megan Fox has been compared to the likes of Angelina Jolie — in terms of looks at least. Her career as a mainstream actress is relatively new, and she’s faced a box office flop already with Jennifer’s Body. The Transformers franchise really kick-started her fame — and our attentions — and she has since fueled our fantasies with amazing shoots. A less mainstream cover, the May 2009 issue of Empire is something you can add to your collection.

2010: The year Microsoft could give the tablet another shot?

Though you’d never know it from reading most of the recent iSlate posts and stories, Microsoft actually had a pioneering role in the tablet space. One post I saw today thanks to a Tweet from my ZDNet blogging colleague Ed Bott) by GottaBeMobile Founder Rob Bushway focuses on the Softies’ influence in tablets. Bushway’s conclusion was if the Redmondians don’t change their ways, 2010 could be the year that Microsoft lost the tablet market.

I’d argue Microsoft already lost the first-generation tablet market — due primarily to lack of marketing, as much as anything else. And I’m not saying that simply because I, myself, am not a tablet fan. I’m also not a fan of touch on a PC or anything with a screen bigger than a phone because there’s no reason, other than possibly in a kiosk-type setting, that using touch on a PC brings any real benefits to the party.

But Microsoft officials, especially Chairman Bill Gates, have big believers in tablets and touch. They’ve been consumed with finding a way to get these two technologies off the ground and have been willing to keep pouring money and time into research and development to do so. But once they had some promising prototypes and partners in place, they dropped the ball.

Even though many pooh-poohed Microsoft’s Origami/UMPC (ultra-mobile PC) handhelds, in hindsight they don’t look as ridiculous as many originally thought, at least in my opinion. Microsoft actually had some ambitious and interesting plans for Windows-based UMPCs. Here are some of the guidelines Microsoft offered in 2007 to hardware makers interested in building Windows Vista-based UMPCs:

* Five- or seven-inch displays
* Lower-power LED-backlighting
* Screen resolutions of 1024 X 600 (not the 800 x 480 minimum common with the first-wave UMPCs)
* WiMax and integrated WWAN connectivity (supplementingthe existing 802.11 b/g wireless and Bluetooth connected devices)
* New input options, including thumb/QWERTY keyboards, along with the more-standard touch, stylus and thumb-based controls on current UMPC models

Microsoft officials were predicting “second-wave” UMPCs would have 1 GB-plus of RAM, WDDM/DX9+ graphics support; three to four hours of 3-cell battery life; a weight of under 1.5 pounds; and 18 to 20 mm thick form factors. Back in 2007, the Softies also were hoping to see UMPCs with $500 price tags.

What a difference a couple of years makes. UMPCs vaporized. Netbooks/ultra thins/e-readers took their place… sort of. And the bottom fell out of the PC market, price-wise, making $500 for UMPC-type device look pricey.

Maybe Microsoft’s big mistake was putting too many eggs in the Windows basket with mobile devices. Why not also offer five-inch devices running Windows Mobile (or some other Windows Compact Edition derivative)?

Again, many seem to have forgotten, but Microsoft has been exploring that possibility. Len Kawell, a Microsoft Distinguished Engineer (and former colleague of Microsoft Chief Software Architect Ray Ozzie) has been looking into the possibilities around Windows-Mobile-based Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs). There’s been no word in the past year as to what’s come of Kawell’s investigations, but there have been public demos of Windows Mobile-based MIDs based on ARM. And with Web apps gaining in prominence, the lack of Windows Mobile apps for non-Intel/AMD processors may not be the deal breaker that it once was….

There’s one other Microsoft project in the works that may have a bearing on Microsoft’s next-generation tablet designs. That’s the “Oahu” Surface knock-off — a “small-ass table” that would be a more affordable, consumer-focused version of Microsoft’s multi-touch table. I’ve heard that Oahu is actually the precursor to the rumored Microsoft Courier tablet (and may be being designed, in part, in Hawaii), but can’t verify this.

Speaking of Courier, that spiffy next-gen touch tablet still seems quite a ways off, if it ever does move beyond the marketing video stage. But what if there’s a Windows- or Windows Mobile 7-based MID/tablet in the wings, being built by one of Microsoft’s hardware partners, that can run a more practical, easier-to-learn version of One Note, plus access Web apps, Zune subscription-based music, and (for those who game), Xbox Live? If such a device didn’t force me to go 100 percent touch, I’d be sold!

If Microsoft doesn’t end up fielding something that looks and works exactly like Courier, what features would its next-gen tablet have to include for you to consider it a viable alternative to other tablets/MIDs/netbooks out there?

WSJ: Apple tablet shipping in March

While many have been fixated on when Apple will announce a new tablet product, The Wall Street Journal says it has found out when the device will actually be available to customers.

Sources have told the Journal that a 10- or 11-inch touch-screen tablet computer will begin shipping in March. Another source says that there are at least two different finishes for the device that Apple is either still deciding on or perhaps planning to charge different prices for each.

Though there's been a lot of speculation about the tablet, there are no confirmed details yet. Industry observers are anticipating a late January announcement (January 27, according to AllThingsD) of a slate-style computer that could be used as a touch-screen e-reader and video display with wireless access for around $1,000.

Andy Lau’s Future X-cops will hit the cinemas in February, he had already started promoting the film. In the past, Andy shoot 14 films within a year during his peak, currently it’s one film per year, it’s because of his family and wife Carol Zhu Liqian.

Shinhwa's Lee Min-Woo hospitalised after serious accident

Lee Min-Woo of popular South Korean boy band Shinhwa has been hospitalised after a serious car accident on Christmas eve.

According to Lee's management company, the singer was travelling in a car with five friends when the vehicle skidded on an icy road near a ski resort in Gangwon-do and crashed off the slope.

The car was badly damaged and the driver suffered a spinal fracture and had to be hospitalised for six weeks.

Lee, 30, who was sitting in the backseat of the car, suffered a mild concussion and injured his neck, back, and ankle. He would need about three weeks to recover from his injuries.

A close friend of the singer revealed that the driver and passengers could have lost their lives if not for the car's airbags.

Due to the severity of Lee's injuries, his concert which was scheduled to be held on January 16 and 17, would have to be cancelled.

Understanding Windows 7's 'GodMode'

Although it's name suggests perhaps even grander capabilities, Windows enthusiasts are excited over the discovery of a hidden "GodMode" feature that lets users access all of the operating system's control panels from within a single folder.

By creating a new folder in Windows 7 and renaming it with a certain text string at the end, users are able to have a single place to do everything from changing the look of the mouse pointer to making a new hard-drive partition.

The trick is also said to work in Windows Vista, although some are warning that although it works fine in 32-bit versions of Vista, it can cause 64-bit versions of that operating system to crash.

To enter "GodMode," one need only create a new folder and then rename the folder to the following:

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Once that is done, the folder's icon will change to resemble a control panel and will contain dozens of control options. I'm not sure it's my idea of playing God, but it is a handy way to get to all kinds of controls.

I've asked Microsoft for more details on the feature and how it came to be. But so far, Redmond is silent on the topic.

Wonder Girls Barbie Girls concept photoshoot for EXR revealed!

Two weeks ago we shared with you some blurry images of the Wonder Girls looking like dolls for EXR.

Recently some clear photos have been released and looking at them in these photos, they look even more doll like.

Check out the photos below, thanks to gregory for the tip and dkpopnews for sharing the photos.

Everyone is Crazy for Autumn's Concerto

Sunday idol drama craze is here again! TTV and SETTV drama "Autumn's Concerto" received it's highest rating ever on the 3rd. The rating reached 7.76, defeating My Queen's 7.35 record. Male lead Vanness Wu, who gained popularity from F4, is now as popular as ever. He is even able to threaten Ethan Ruan for the idol king position. As with Show Luo and Rainie Yang's drama, Hi My Sweetheart, the ratings are not bad either with a 4.12 rating.

Vanness, who is vacationing in the United States, can only view clips of the drama through the internet. Netizens' praises of his acting and friends' Facebook messages leave him very happy. In the drama, he finally regains his memory and is full of hatred.

Last week Show Luo wore thin clothes to his autograph session and ended up catching a cold with a fever of 39 degrees C. He was afraid that his coughing would affect his voice so he got up early in the morning to go to the hospital to receive special and nutritional shots. He said wearing thick clothes at his autograph session would affect the speed of the autograph signing. He is afraid it will be too long of a wait for fans and will delay them from going home on time, so he can only take a chance with his health.

Google Nexus One support page goes live, quickly dies again

Wondering how to activate your shiny new Nexus One? Curious how to get started with the thing, or how to use the 3D gallery? Oh, wait, you don't have yours yet? Oops. Google seems to have posted its support page for the phone a little early, a little site that went live for just a few minutes -- just long enough for us to click through a little, read that Terms of Service that was leaked to us last week, and watch a few videos. The first one that came up is actually the walkthrough for Android 2.0, curiously, but the other videos showed 3D photo gallery and some other goodies. Now they show nothing, though, having been set private and the pages removed. Surely they'll be up again soon, with the device getting announced tomorrow, and while we're still not sure exactly when you'll be able to get your own, you're always welcome to enjoy our hands-on impressions.

Firefox development dilemma: Tweak or overhaul?

Mozilla is building a number of features into the upcoming Firefox 3.7 browser--but the organization now has begun stewing over whether to introduce some of them in a significant update, as planned, or to rewrite some sooner for a variation of the current browser.

Programmer Benjamin Smedberg proposed the retrofit approach with a version called Lorentz on a Mozilla mailing list in late December. In the resulting discussion, developers and observers weighed the tactical advantages to each approach and wondered whether the quickening pace of Firefox development is ill-suited to browser users among businesses.

Firefox is based on a browser engine project called Gecko. The nearly complete (but somewhat tardy) Firefox 3.6 is built on Gecko 1.9.2, and Firefox 3.7 is set to use Gecko 1.9.3. The question afoot is whether to "backport" significant Gecko 1.9.3 features to 1.9.2 and release the new Lorentz version of Firefox based on it.

"With the [Lorentz] project branch, I believe we could go to beta in the middle of January and release in late March/early April," Smedberg said. In contrast, "doing a release from Mozilla-Central/1.9.3 presents a lot of schedule risk without matching reward."

One design change in question is the implementation of out-of-process plug-ins, which would move plug-ins such as Adobe Systems' Flash to a separate computing process--and a project in which Smedberg is involved. The work, the first phase of a Mozilla project called Electrolysis, is expected to improve stability; many browser crashes are the result of problems with Flash programs. Another feature he'd like is a less disruptive browser update process--a particularly relevant technology, given Mozilla's attempt to move to a more frequent release cycle.

Chris Blizzard, who runs Mozilla's developer relations, sounded supportive of the Lorentz plan in a mailing-list message. He added some features he'd like to implemented sooner rather than later, including faster Direct2D-based graphics for Windows machines, CSS transitions that can add pizazz to some graphic elements, and Web Sockets for communication between a browser and a server.

But, he added, delay is a risk of new features. "We need to make sure this train doesn't get too big, though, or it will stretch out into a pretty long release," Blizzard said. Indeed, that's what happened with Firefox 3.5, which began as a quick 3.1 update but arrived months later, as more features were added.

Added L. David Baron, "I have bad feelings about this plan, based on the last time we did this: Firefox 2.0 sucked resources away from the trunk [the development of new version of Gecko] and allowed it to become extremely unstable, and it look a long time to get things back together for Firefox 3."

Eventually, the Mozilla mailing-list discussion turned to how well corporate users are able to deal with a fast development cycle.

"The nature of the Web doesn't really lend itself to long-lived stable browser branches, IMHO," programmer Robert O'Callahan said. "A lot of the security issues we discover in the Web itself require proactive security measures such as UI [user interface] and architectural changes that one normally wouldn't apply to a 'stable branch.'"

John J. Barton, an IBM programmer involved with the Firebug extension to Firefox to aid Web developers, made the case for relatively rapid changes.

"IBM and our customers are all moving to faster development cycles," Barton wrote. "That's why I urge [the] Firefox team to continue to lead in that direction."

Vince Vaughn Gets Married!

He's a swinger no more.

Vince Vaughn married Kyla Weber in a small private ceremony before family and friends on Saturday outside of his hometown of Chicago, his rep confirms to PEOPLE.

Vaughn, 39, proposed to Weber, 31, a Canadian real estate agent, last Valentine's Day. "They could not be happier," a friend tells PEOPLE. The wedding took place at a historic mansion.

Vaughn told PEOPLE in September that after years as a bachelor he was ready for his life "to be about other people and other things" – even diaper duty. "It's the first time that I really want to have kids," he said.

The is the first marriage for Weber and the star of Swingers and Couples Retreat. Vaughn had previously dated Jennifer Aniston.

Will Topless Tiger Pics Get You to Buy Vanity Fair?

Let's face it. Had the new February issue of Vanity Fair come out before all the drama, the cover no doubt would have featured a smiling Tiger Woods sporting his traditional golf shirt and hat.

Then again, without his "transgressions," the embattled athlete probably wouldn't be on the cover in the first place.

But while sex does normally sell, will putting pre-scandal pics from famed photographer Annie Leibovitz of a shirtless—and very serious-looking—Tiger both in and on your mag result in a sales boost or bust?

Personally, we can't decide, as we're still trying to wrap our heads around what Tiger's wife did this weekend!

Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid: laptop by day, unhinged tablet by night

We're still trying to wrap our heads around what Lenovo's just announced here, but it appears that the 3.8-pound IdeaPad U1 Hybrid is a 11.6-inch laptop with a retractable multitouch screen. It's sort of like the Always Innovating Touchbook, but in our opinion a lot more interesting. When the screen is locked into its upright position in the laptop's chassis, it's powered by a CULV Intel Core 2 Duo processor and runs Windows 7 Home Premium. But when the screen is pulled from its shell it morphs into a Qualcomm Snapdragon powered-multitouch slate with a 16GB SSD that boots Lenovo's customized Skylight Linux interface. Two processors and two operating systems? Hybrid is right. It seems like we'll have to wait until June to buy the $999 device, but we've been promised a look at it in Vegas so stay tuned.

Nokia continues legal assault on Apple, files suit with ITC to ban Apple imports

Back in October we told you about Nokia filing suit against Apple over the iPhone, claiming that Apple’s mobile offering violated Nokia patents pertaining to GSM, UMTS and wireless LAN (WLAN) standards. Perhaps some legal posturing, we thought; a public and principled shot across the bow aimed at the Cupertino based tech company? Apparently not, as Nokia has taken off the gloves. In a December 29th filing with the International Trade Commission, Nokia seeks an immediate injunction that would ban the import of anything with a camera and an Apple logo on it: iPhones, iPod Touches, iMacs, Macbooks – you get the idea. The suit claims Apple is violating Nokia patents in its use of a combined camera chip which keeps the size and power usage of devices down, a voltage controlled oscillator (VOC) that “increases the efficiency of the wireless device and uses less power than traditional VCOs, thereby increasing battery life,” and the sensor technology used in the iPhone that turns the screen off when it is within proximity of your face to prevent accidental input. We’re not sure if Nokia’s strategy is a sound one, but we’ll stay on top of this one as the filings continue to mount. You can hit up the link to read the original article translated from Finnish.
