Is she kissing him or strangling him? Reese Witherspoon unleashes her inner passion

She's usually a genteel, well mannered mother of two children. But when the cameras roll all bets are off.

Reese Witherspoon unleashed her inner fiery sexpot on the set of her new movie This Means War, in Vancouver, Canada yesterday.

And when the 34-year-old actress goes for it, she really goes hell for leather, as lucky Chris Pine found out.

Reese and Chris were filmed in a passionate embrace, although at first look it might have been easy to misread the situation and think she as strangling her co-star rather than embracing him.

Pine didn't seem to mind though - in fact he seemed to be thoroughly enjoying every minute of the experience and at one point he even lifted the petite actress right up off the floor as they continued their steamy smooch.

As expected, the Nexus S runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread – which should be released in the next few weeks.

XDA Developers – the source of the new photos – says the Nexus S might feature a Super AMOLED 2 display, dual-core processor, and 720p HD video recording.

Fitness fanatic Ashley Greene flaunts her figure as she peels down to lingerie for horror film

In another shot the star, who plays vampire Alice Cullen in the Twilight series, wears a loose white shirt with her hair long and wavy.

The film follows a couple who are haunted by a supernatural presence which is released after a science experiment goes wrong.

3,000 Windows Phone 7 apps and 15k developers boasts Microsoft

Microsoft has confirmed that it is on track to 3,000 apps available in the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace by the end of this week, with more than 15,000 developers signed up. “Clearly we’re just getting warmed up” Microsoft’s Todd Brix claims, pointing to the almost 80-percent increase in the number of registered developers since September 2010 as evidence. However, the platform still lags significantly behind its key rivals, iOS and Android, in terms of sheer number of apps.

The signs, however, are that Microsoft is targeting particular app categories and even specific titles, rather than looking to compete on bulk alone. That’s seen the company offer developers “revenue guarantees” – aka money – or access to Microsoft’s own developers in order to get popular software into the Marketplace.

Ethan Ruan rumored to be starring in “The Flying Guillotine”

28 year-old Ethan Ruan celebrated the biggest win of his career at last week’s Golden Horse Awards. The Best Actor winner hasn’t done any movie or drama since his breakout role in “Monga”. He reportedly turned down over 40 offers, but according to the latest rumors, he will be returning with the action period film “The Flying Guillotine (血滴子)”. Awarding-winning director Peter Chan is set produce this movie, while Su Chao Bin (“Reign of Assassins”) will direct.

Chan praised Ethan Ruan’s performance in Monga back in March, calling it the “Birth of a new star.” In an interview yesterday, he explained, “I’ve already asked Xiao Tian (Ruan) to star in this movie ('Guillotine') nine months ago. Filming was supposed to begin in September, but it has been delayed until after the Chinese New Year. I recognized his potential long ago, and didn’t get him only after he had won the Golden Horse. There is a lot of pressure on casting him, because he turned down many movies to work on mine. I’m producing this one so I'll definitely keep a close eye on it.”

Taylor Swift: Why I Like Living Alone

Taylor Swift is enjoying the newfound freedom of living on her own.

"Living alone you can do so many fantastic things," Swift says on Chelsea Lately, airing Wednesday on E!. "You can walk around and have conversations with yourself and like, sing your thoughts. … I think I'm the only one who does that."

Swift, 20, tells host Chelsea Handler that it'll probably never get wilder than that. "I have the deeply engrained fear of getting into trouble and being sent the principal's office of life," the singer says.

And don't expect Swift to become a fixture at the bar scene once she turns 21 next month, though she does see some perks coming her way.

"I get to go to the concerts now that my friends [used to] leave me at home for," she said.

Felix Wong’s outburst toward TVB: “Because of deep affection, feel obligation to reproach them”

Due to anniversary series "Gun Metal Grey" being neglected at TVB’s Anniversary Gala, series star Felix Wong expressed his frustration on Weibo earlier in the week. The situation attracted much attention from the public as well as overwhelming support from netizens, saying that Felix was right in bursting out at TVB.

Yesterday, Felix Wong and Michael Miu went on Eileen Cha’s radio interview show to discuss the situation. Michael started off by jokingly saying that it was Felix’s fault for causing such a huge uproar. Felix indicated that what he posted on Weibo with regard to the anniversary gala situation were truly words from his heart, however he did not anticipate that there would be such a huge response to it. He expressed that even though he is not a TVB-contracted artist, he really wanted to participate in the anniversary gala – however the fact that the GMG cast was never invited plus the series was barely mentioned did not sit well with him, which caused him to react in that manner.

Known for having an ‘explosive’ temper, Felix indicated that this time around, his explosiveness was only at level 2 – in the past, he would go directly to upper management to voice his concerns and dissatisfaction. Both Felix and Michael expressed that promotions for all series should be evenly distributed as well as impartial and fair. They also reiterated what producer Lee Tim Sing said during his acceptance speech for the Lifetime Achievement award last year: “a little more fairness, a little less selfishness.”

Epic Poster Ad for Joe Cheng & Amber Kuo's "Channel X"

At least several days ago, SETTV released a pretty epic poster advertisement for its upcoming drama Channel X featuring a bold looking Joe Cheng protecting an anxious looking Amber Kuo from an unknown group of nemeses. The tagline of the poster is epic in its own right, which translates into English as "In order to uncover the truth, what are you willing to sacrifice?" The poster really looks like it could pass for a movie ad.

Already, this drama is shaping up with a pretty cool action premise that doesn't use the guise of a police thriller, presenting itself instead with an unconventional hero in the form of an anchorman. In fact, the Chinese title of Channel X roughly translates as National Hero, so perhaps that's a clue of what kind of characters to expect from the lead actors.

Whatever the case, this drama probably can't do any worse ratings-wise than the drama it's replacing Zhong Wu Yen, which has been a ratings disappointment by SETTV standards. Or so we hope.

Box Office Preview: 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' to lead Thanksgiving weekend

This holiday weekend, a cornucopia of new releases will attempt to steal Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows‘ thunder. Fat chance. In the box-office realm, Mr. Potter is the ultimate weapon — prepared to handle any adversary. His biggest challenger arrives in the animated form of Disney’s Tangled, but by the end of this weekend, Rapunzel could very well be sporting Emma Watson’s hairdo. As for the extremely revealing romantic comedy Love and Other Drugs, Dwayne Johnson’s R-rated action movie Faster, and the Cher and Christina Aguilera musical Burlesque — well, they should all be happy just to be sitting at the dining table. Harry Potter is mighty hungry, and this Thanksgiving weekend, he’s coming back for seconds. Here are my predictions for the three-day weekend:

1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1: $53 million

After consuming $125 million its opening weekend, Deathly Hallows grossed $8.8 million and $10.3 million on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, bringing its five-day domestic total to a staggering $144.1 million. So clearly Muggles are still very interested in the fantasy flick, and that should continue to be the case this weekend. A second-week decline of about 58 percent seems in order. While that may appear to be a steep drop, keep in mind that Deathly Hallows‘ debut weekend was particularly front-loaded. (It made $24 million from Thursday midnight screenings alone). By Sunday night, the movie should be sitting with a belt-bursting cumulative total of at least $220 million.

When iPad 2 Hits, Will iPad 1 Go Cheap Or Extinct?

With iOS 4.2 finally out in the wild, the iPad has effectively been rejuvenated. And there’s no question that Apple is going to sell a massive amount of them during the Holiday shopping season. But what comes next? Well, the iPad 2, of course.

You don’t need to be an analyst looking for inside information to know that Apple has a pretty standard policy of refreshing their product lines about once a year. And with iOS devices, it’s more or less clockwork. Since the iPad was released in early April last year, that’s the most obvious target for when the iPad 2 will hit. But there’s a side question that will go along with that launch: what will happen to the iPad 1? Will it go cheap? Or will it go extinct?

Essentially, the question is whether Apple will follow the iPhone model, or whether they’ll follow the iPod touch model. The iPhone is updated each year, and since the launch of the iPhone 3GS 18 months ago, Apple has been deeply discounting the previous generation model while keeping it available for sale. With the iPod touch, they don’t do that. Once it’s updated, the old inventory runs dry and isn’t replenished; the new one takes its place.

Sony Ericsson faults 'especially rigorous' firmware testing in US for X10's Eclair update delay on AT&T

We think this is a veiled way of passing the buck to AT&T -- but whatever it is, Sony Ericsson USA has extended an old, crusty, TimeScape-enabled olive branch to Xperia X10 owners in the States by attempting to explain what's going on with the Eclair update 'round these parts. Basically, the company says that getting an update out in the US is way harder than it is elsewhere because of "the technical requirements that must be met" over which Sony Ericsson has "no control." The blame is levied on an "especially rigorous" testing cycle that can (and presumably, often does) take several months, which is why they've thus far refused to offer guidance on when the update will be released. Honestly, is there any way we can trade in our warranty card to get on the fast track with this stuff? And more importantly, would us bleeding-edge types be willing to take that risk on a wide scale?

Mark Wahlberg confirms role in 'Uncharted'. Could this be the new 'Indiana Jones'?

Mark Wahlberg essentially confirmed in an interview with MTV News that he will be playing treasure-hunter Nathan Drake in David O. Russell’s (The Fighter) planned film adaptation of Uncharted, based on the acclaimed videogame series for PS3. He also suggested that Russell is courting Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci to play Drake’s father and uncle respectively.

If De Niro and Pesci are indeed signed to the film, that would by default give Uncharted the most prestigious cast ever for a videogame-derived movie — and it already has the most prestigious director! Wahlberg, himself, is no stranger to the genre, having played the title role in the blah bullets-and-bloodbaths spectacle Max Payne in 2008 (a banner year for him, as it also saw the release of that landmark achievement The Happening).

Lee DeWyze Album Sales: Disastrous

Lee DeWyze seems like a very nice guy and certainly possess a lot of music talent. But these numbers speak for themselves:

The American Idol champion moved 39,000 copies of his debut CD in its first week of sales, making him the least successful Idol finalist in history. Not just champion, mind you. But finalist. Period.

Here's a look at the first-week sales figures, and Billboard chart ranking, for each American Idol winner and runner-up, over the show's first eight seasons. Best of luck, Crystal Bowersox, with your debut album, which drops on December 14.

RIM PlayBook pricing leaks, starts at $399

A blog by the name of Mobility Insider is claiming to have the inside scoop on the pricing schema for the unreleased BlackBerry Playbook tablet. The site does not cite any sources — anonymous or otherwise — but claims to have first hand knowledge about RIM’s tablet. The report indicates that the Playbook will be available with three different storage capacities. An 8GB model will retail for $399, a 16GB for $499, and a 32GB for $599. The site goes on to note that all models will be Wi-Fi only and will acquire cellular data connectivity through a tethered BlackBerry smartphone. RIM’s highly-anticipated, dual-core tablet is set to launch sometime early next year… what do you think of the purported pricing?

PlayStation Phone to be unveiled on December 9th?

French gadget enthusiast blog Nowhereelse has reportedly received a copy of an invitation to a mysterious press event early next month. The event, as the invitation states, is supposedly “the most awaited event of the past 10 years.” While the authenticity of the invitation is anything but confirmed, the implication is clear: Sony Ericsson will supposedly unveil its PlayStation Phone on December 9th. While no specific mention of the PS Phone is made on the invite, the standard PlayStation icons accompanied by a matching phone icon speaks loud and clear.

Alleged images of the Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone were revealed last month and are believed to be authentic. As such, it is reasonable to believe an announcement might not be far behind. With holiday shopping kicking into high gear this week, a December 9th announcement of this magnitude would be a bizarre move at best — then again, this is Sony Ericsson we’re talking about here, so anything is possible. The source of this rumor is definitely hit or miss, but let’s all cross our fingers and hope for the best.

Hopefully, Gears of War 3 Has Some Of This In It

This is a trailer for the latest iteration of the Epic Games' Unreal Engine, the graphics tech that powers not only the Xbox 360's Gears of War series but everything from the Mass Effect series to the gorgeous Enslaved: Odyssey To The West.

Are Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Demanding More Sex Scenes?

Are Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart too hot for the teen screen?

A few reports have surfaced about how steamy Robsten's love scenes got down in Brazil, and while we dished to you a while ago the script does call for a bit more nudity than the previous flicks...

Sources at the studio tell us B.D. ain't gonna get an R rating.

"We will be aiming for a PG-13 rating," our source says, who has always emphasized this will be "key."

The way Bill Condon works is that he'd rather have more material than less—as we have stated before.

Bring on the sex! Bring on the nudity! Then he'll edit how he sees fit.

Remember, Condon is the master of making totally hot films without showing too much. That's one very important reason why Summit's been hot on the dude to take on the franchise's finale.

And, sorry, but we're hearing Rob and Kristen aren't "demanding" anything for their love scenes. They both are totally getting along with Bill, and from what we hear, their visions are matching up pretty well.

Kanye West Slams Taylor Swift Again at Intimate New York Concert

The rumors began Monday evening, when Teyana Taylor, the former 'My Super Sweet 16' star and guest vocalist on Kanye West's recently released new album, tweeted, "Just got to rehearsals for my performance with Mr Ye West tomorrow at the Bowery Ballroom tomorrow Dark Fantasy Baby!" This being 2010, the electronic snowball became an avalanche overnight and by Tuesday morning, it was music's worst kept secret that West would be performing his new album, 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,' at the 550-capacity Bowery Ballroom in New York's Lower East Side later that night.

At around 1AM last night, West finally hit the stage to perform the widely-acclaimed album for the first time from start to finish. As Diddy, Q-Tip, Spike Lee, Aziz Ansari, Ivanka Trump, The Roots drummer ?uestlove and fashion designer Tory Burch looked on, the rapper brought out numerous collaborators involved in 'Fantasy,' including rapper Rick Ross, Pusha T, Nicki Minaj, John Legend, producer Swizz Beats and singer-songwriter Justin Vernon of Bon Iver.

Angelina Jolie Refuses to Celebrate Thanksgiving, Feels It's a 'Story of Murder'

While everyone is preparing to give thanks tomorrow, one of America's most famous families, the Jolie-Pitts, have decided to sit this Thanksgiving out.

"Angelina Jolie hates this holiday and wants no part in rewriting history like so many other Americans," a friend of the actress tells me. "To celebrate what the white settlers did to the native Indians, the domination of one culture over another, just isn't her style. She definitely doesn't want to teach her multi-cultural family how to celebrate a story of murder."

Angelina has been filming her directorial debut, about a Serbian man and Bosnian woman who fall in love during the Bosnian War. Angie, always extremely sensitive to the suffering throughout the world, is filming in English and the native languages.

"Angelina gets so grossed out by Thanksgiving that she has made sure her family will not be in America this year on Thursday," an insider tells me.

And although Brad Pitt recently told 'EXTRA,' "We'll whip up a turkey somewhere," he certainly hasn't shared that plan with Angelina. A family friend tells me, "If Brad wants turkey, he will have to cook it himself. For Angie, it will be another day when America tries to rewrite history."

Lighten up, dear!

Smartphone Sales In Asia On The Rise, Android Tops Symbian

We can’t say we’re really surprised: according to market research company Gfk, smartphones are getting increasing popular in Asia, with Android now being the region’s most popular OS for this type of handsets. Cell phones with the Google software on board have reportedly enjoyed brisk sales in that region in the second and third quarters of 2010.

Gfk says that Android has dethroned Symbian in Asia in Q3 this year, both in terms of value and actual handset sales. Android seems to be especially going strong in Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea and Taiwan. In Southeast Asia (i.e. Indonesia or Malaysia), Symbian is still dominant – even though the OS is gradually losing ground to the iPhone, Blackberry and Android.

What’s also interesting is that one out of five handsets sold in Q3 in these regions was a smartphone. According to Gfk, smartphone sales between July and September this year amounted to 4.7 million units, which is a plus of 270% when compared to the same quarter last year.

Makers generated US$1.48 billion in revenue in that time frame with smartphones – almost 50% of their overall revenue. Expect these numbers to keep growing, as long as cell phone makers in the region keep on producing smartphones for the masses.

Ah Sa replies with tearful thanks to fans & celebrity friends and love to boyfriend with a birthday kiss

Charlene Choi and boyfriend William Chan have birthdays one day apart (November 21 & 22) but because of work, William was unable to spend time to celebrate Charlene's birthday on the actual date. However after finishing work in Chengdu, William rushed back to Hong Kong to celebrate his girlfriend's 28th birthday. Even though they have been followed by media all along, their relationship has not been overly exposed. Right at midnight, William sent his birthday wishes on Weibo microblogging. Even though it was only a simple line: "@Charlene Choi happy birthday to YOU ; )", it caused Charlene to generously reply on Weibo: "Thanks ... Love." Being able to risk everything to naturally be in love, this time for Ah Sa truly is brave to love. Yet without having her boyfriend accompany her for her special day, Ah Sa chose to spend it with friends. The night before, Ah Sa first cheered on good friend Joey Yung's concert and received the entire concert hall's cheers and birthday song, as well as a birthday dinner and cake with friends.

On Charlene's Weibo, she expressed her birthday thoughts, saying: "Grateful thanks to all good friends and fans' blessings .. I'm 28 years old now .. thank you God for letting me healthily live 28 years .. thank you God for giving me 28 years of uneven life .. thank you God for continuously testing me in these 28 years .. letting me strongly grow and mature! My birthday wish is for all the people I love and the people who love me to be healthy, blessed and happy! I'm not someone who cries easily .. from yesterday I've started crying because of good friends .. until today waking up and crying because of our cool oranges (Charlene's nickname for her fans). You guys really are awesome! Being able to make others happy is the biggest happiness .. this is twins' spirit! I really like this present of practicing what one preaches! (Fans sent in a video of charity they had done) Thank you guys for accompanying us through wind and rain .. even though we can't stop the stormy sea .. but because of love .. at least we can hold hands and walk! Love you guys"

Jerry Yan out, Joseph Chang in for "Fated to Love You" spin-off as Rainie Yang's co-star

Before you guys come up with some sort of catchy name for the hyped Jerry Yan and Rainie Yang pairing like JerRainie or RainJer for the upcoming Fated to Love You spin-off/sequel , you can safely call off those potentially fun plans. The famed male idol's name is no longer attached to new idol drama Drunken to Love You, and will instead be replaced by award-winning Taiwanese actor Joseph Chang of Au Revoir Taipei and Eternal Summer fame, where the cast and crew for the drama begins shooting next month.

With the overwhelming success of 2008's Taiwanese drama Fated, which captivated so many viewers in Taiwan that it received coverage by the international press, it was only a matter of time before a sequel or spin-off would receive the green light by its producers to capitalize on the original's success. And given the current low-ratings climate that has plagued even ratings hitmaker producers SETTV of subsequent successes such as Autumn's Concerto and My Queen, the channel responsible for the original Fated hopes that Drunken can reclaim their ratings winning streak.
