Lindsay Lohan May Visit Oprah

Looking to tell her own side of the story, Lindsay Lohan may make a stop at 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' this fall.

"Things are heating up in a good way," a source tells RadarOnline.com. "Definitely some good conversations. We're crossing our fingers it works out for Oprah's last season."

The 25th and final season of 'Oprah' begins filming on Monday. Though nothing is locked in with Lohan, the possibility looks "very good," Radar's source says.

Lohan has considered several television options and there might not be any decision for some time, according to a person close with the actress. The source does say Oprah's people approached LiLo, not vice versa.

Lindsay has not spoken to any press since her recent jail and rehab stint. Her Vanity Fair interview was conducted before she went to jail.

An 'Oprah' rep tells Radar "nothing has been planned," but did not deny that talks are in progress.

That's not very Posh, Victoria! The Beckhams enjoy passionate moments in an elevator for new fragrance advert

Since they married in 1999, Victoria and David Beckham have rarely been out of the media.

They have also made a fortune of over £110million through 'Brand Beckham', and have completed countless ventures together including various adverts such as campaigns for Emporio Armani underwear and their fragrances, Intimately Beckham.

But nothing can compare to the couple's new advert for upcoming fragrance Intimately Beckham Yours, a his-and-hers duo 'designed to capture the essence of David and Victoria Beckham’s passion and the power of their relationship.'

In their sexiest promo to date, Victoria is seen joining David in a lift before the pair apparently enjoy some alone time together before their lift ride comes to an end.

Rooney Mara arrives in Sweden to prepare for Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

She was relatively unknown until only a few weeks ago.

But actress Rooney Mara has already been spotted on the Stockholm of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - less than a month after it was announced she had got the coveted role.

The 25-year-old actress, who is sister to Brokeback Mountain star Kate Mara, was seen yesterday.

Rooney nabbed the role of Lisabeth Slander, a wickedly smart computer hacker from the International Best-selling book by Steig Larsson, beating out contenders including Carey Mulligan.

The young star was spotted yesterday heading into a gym in the Swedish capital city before heading to a language school where she is reportedly learning to speak with a Swedish accent.

The film's producer David Fincher recently revealed that he wanted all actors to talk with a Swedish accent.

A Video Tour of iPhone's Game Center

Apple's one-stop-shop for iPhone gamers and gaming, the Game Center, just went live with the release of the iPhone's 4.1 firmware update. Here's a run down of what you can expect once you get it installed.

First the heart breaker: Owners of the original iPhone, iPod touch and the iPhone 3G will be left out of the matchmaking, achievement gathering and friends list perusing of the new Apple gaming service.

If you're not on that list, then check out our video tour. One note, at the time of recording the video, no games yet supported Game Center, but that has been slowly changing.

Apple selects Qualcomm baseband chip for iPhone 5, ditches Infineon/Intel?

Rumors indicate that Apple has already begun designing the next-generation iPhone, which I’ll call iPhone 5 from here on. This, of course, makes sense, as the average time from the start of the design process to market in the mobile phone business is 18 months. So even if Apple work faster, they still would need to have started already.

The same rumors indicate that the Hon Hai Group (better known as Foxconn in some parts of the world) will continue to be the iPhone’s manufacturer and as such will be making the iPhone 5 as well. Orders for the iPhone 5 are expected to take up a large portion of their production facilities.

This was also to be expected. What is rather unexpected though, if these rumors are confirmed, is that Apple may be switching their baseband chip supplier for the iPhone 5.

Up until now, the baseband chip supplier for the iPhones and the iPad 3G has been Infineon, a company recently acquired by Intel for a boatload of cash. And the fact that they were Apple’s supplier has to have had some impact on the size of that pile of cash.

Well, that may have been money better spent on something else, since it seems that the baseband chips for the iPhone 5 will come from Qualcomm, not Infineon. Apple will continue to design the application processor themselves (like they did with the A4 inside the iPad, iPhone 4 and the newest iPod Touch).

Miriam Yeung & Raymond Lam's "Perfect Wedding" Poster accused of plagiarism

Although Miriam Yeung's concert is happening soon, she's appearing every day at events. Last night, she attended an event for a magazine. Miriam expressed that she'll begin her retreats later this month because it is the time to promote for her new album, so must accommodate. Also, in addition to her concert rehearsals she'll have to attend some public functions that she accepted earlier on. Looks like she's only able to tell herself that lots of work, lots of money to comfort herself. She smiled: "I am very exhausted, if you tell me something now, I can already fall asleep."

Regarding to the poster to her new movie with Raymond Lam Perfect Wedding (抱抱俏佳人) being said to plagiarize Western film Yours Mine And Ours. Miriam saw the poster to the movie the media referred to and said: "Not the same, I have to use my two legs to cramp onto Raymond. Also our pose is more conservative. I remember when we were shooting the poster, Raymond was very embarrassed, but I am the older sister, so I'm a bit more relaxed. I did not dare to let my husband see it, I hid it for several months, when he asked me I would just say it's made through photoshop."

Arashi Places First in My Favourite Artist Ranking

As voted by 20,000 music fans, popular idol group Arashi took the top spot in the '2010 My Favourite Artist Ranking'. Results were announced on the 8th. Since 2004, entertainment magazine Ori★Suta has been running the poll annually. Last year was Arashi's first year to make it to the top 10, earning a respectable fourth place finish. This year however, they have already climbed straight to the top.

The magazine polled readers as well as members of the Oricon Monitor Research. Around 20,000 people took part in the poll, with equal amounts of male and female participants from different age categories starting from the teens (10's) to those in their 40's (approximately 2,500 people in each group). Not only did Arashi take first place overall, but out of the 14 different categories, they placed first within 7 of them. It proves they are well liked across different age groups as well as by both male and female audiences.

Of the many comments left by voters, some of them said, "Arashi has a perfect balance of singing, dancing and talking", "They have great relationships with each other", "All five members have unique personalities". It seems there were many reasons why they were voted first. The latest issue of Ori★Suta will be released on the 10th.

ARM reveals Eagle core as Cortex-A15, capable of quad-core computing at up to 2.5GHz

Way to take the wind out of our sails, ARM -- no sooner does your dual-core Cortex-A9 finally ship, do you reveal an even more powerful smartphone, smartbook and server-slaying beast. The Cortex-A15 MPCore picks up where the A9 left off, but with reportedly five times the power of existing SOCs, raising the bar for ARM-based single- and dual-core cell phone processors up to 1.5GHz... or as high as 2.5GHz in quad-core server-friendly rigs with hardware virtualization baked in and support for well over 4GB of memory. One terabyte, actually. Like we'd heard, the ARMv7-A "Eagle" chips are destined for Texas Instruments, but ST-Ericsson and Samsung as also named as "lead licensees," so we fully expect to see some badass silicon powering a Galaxy when the 32nm and 28nm parts ship in 2013. Press release and video after the break, replete with ARM partner companies fawning over the new hotness. We can't really blame them.

Elocity A7 goes up for pre-order on Amazon with Android 2.2, Tegra 2, and a $370 price tag

Galaxy Tab? Who needs that overpriced prima donna? Here's the tablet the economical among us have been waiting for. Alright, so the Elocity A7 didn't elicit the highest of praise when it made its cameo on The Engadget Show, but let's congratulate its makers on achieving a pair of feats. Firstly, StreamTV has managed to get its Froyo tablet listed for pre-order on Amazon -- which is no mean feat in itself, just ask Notion Ink -- and secondly, it's done so at an even lower price point than promised, with an encouraging $370 tag. Even if you're like us and not entirely blown away by its performance, you've got root for this little slate to complete the narrative and start selling -- if for no other reason than that it might incite others to stoop to the same price point.

HK model Angelababy proves she is no 'artificial beauty'

Hong Kong model Angelababy revealed on Tuesday during a publicity event that she had taken the unusual step of getting a cosmetic surgeon to confirm she had not gone under the knife to enhance her facial features, reported Hong Kong media.

"About a month ago, I saw a cosmetic surgeon to officially verify the fact. The doctor examined me for about half an hour to see if I had any (surgical) wounds on my face, and if there is anything unnatural about its structure.

"I didn't want to say anything about it earlier because I didn't want it to become another news topic," said the model, whose real name is Yang Ying.

Yang explained that she decided to undergo the medical examination because she wanted to clear her name once and for all.

"I wanted to refute these allegations because too much has been said about this matter," Yang explained.

She added that the results will be used as ammunition in a lawsuit she intends to take out against an entertainment magazine, which she claimed had defamed her.

Joe Cheng and Amber Kuo return to TV with new drama “X Channel”

As reported earlier, Joe Cheng made a surprising move from GTV to star in a SETTV web drama. It looks like they are about to extend their collaboration further. SETTV is apparently starting production on a new idol drama called “X頻道 (X Channel)”. The title might suggest it’s some kind of sci-fi or adult programming, but it is in fact the name of a news network. The series will be directed by Jiang Feng Hong, who most recently worked on Summer's Desire and is also leaving GTV.

The director is rumored to be bringing along actress Tracy Chou with him – She has been out of work for 8 months due to legal troubles with her management company. Her previous dramas include Hot Shot and Calling For Love. But Tracy Chou won't be the lead, as Amber Kuo has reportedly been cast in the role. It remains to be seen how Amber Kuo will play a news anchor with her baby-voice, or if she will even play one at all.

Security Guard Accuses Britney Spears of Sexual Harassment

Has Britney Spears brought the crazy back?

That's the picture painted of her by a former security guard, who alleges in a sexual harassment lawsuit that the pop star emotionally scarred him by exposing herself, insulting him and threatening to fire him over a Slurpee.

Fernando Flores, hired by the singer in February, is seeking an undisclosed amount for being "humiliated and traumatized" by Spears, whose life has been under the control of her father since a series of breakdowns.

In the Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit, Flores claims Spears "made repeated unwanted sexual advances" and summoned him to her room at her house "for no other purpose or reason than to expose her naked body or near-naked body."

Spears also "engaged in numerous sexual acts" in front of him, during which he would immediately leave, the lawsuit alleges. Spears also engaged in sex acts in the presence of her two young children, Flores claims.

When she wasn't exposing herself to him, she was hurling profanities and insults at him, the suit says.

During an excursion to watch Alice in Wonderland at a Hollywood theater, Spears asked Flores to fetch him a Slurpee. When he told her there was a 15-minute wait, she allegedly snapped, "I want my [expletive] drink! God! I'm gonna fire your ass!"

Miley Cyrus Really Might Be Dating Douglas Booth

When Miley Cyrus broke up with Liam Hemsworth, many fans wondered about the reasons behind this split.

One rumor: Cyrus had fallen for LOL co-star Douglas Booth. It seemed like mere speculation at the time, as the only proof of a romance between this pair was an anonymous bartender's eyewitness account of their behavior during a night out.

But now the following photo has surfaced, which depicts movie cast members posing for a group photo. Draw your own conclusions from the way Booth is holding Miley:

Earlier in the week, Cyrus, Booth and Ashley Greene splashed around Paris while filming scenes for the upcoming film. The man with his arms around Miley in the picture above looked mighty cozy with her in those, too.

Google Instant: Better but not revolutionized search

I've been kicking the tires with Google Instant search, and so far I think it's an improvement.

The feature, announced Wednesday at a Google search event, had been known as streaming search since it was first noticed in the wild two weeks ago. Sometimes after a short pause, it retrieves results based on what you've typed as you type it, changing those results live as you add to the query.

It's like Google's search suggest feature, which offers various ways to complete your search query--but on steroids. Google argues that Instant lets people complete their searches faster, and that might well be true, but here's how I found it most powerful: I could continuously refine my search results as I went. Instead of having to search, check the results, tweak the search, check again, and so on, I could fiddle with the search terms as I went.

I found Google Instant intuitive to use and quickly grew accustomed to not having to type the Enter key at the end to initiate my search; often my typing would trail off just about the time that the query I wanted was autocompleted in gray letters with corresponding search results below. Indeed, I got in the habit of specifically avoiding hitting Enter so my search would remain live.

Antennagate reportedly cost Apple about 13% of iPhone 4 sales. Verizon iPhone wanted by many users

iPhone 4’s well-known antenna issues may have negatively impacted sales more than Apple would have wished.

Piper Jaffray has recently published a survey that deals with this matter.

Of the 258 cell phone users interviewed (in Minneapolis, US), 177 were aware of the iPhone 4’s antenna problems. 35 (or about 20%) of those aware of the problems declared that they have impacted their purchase decision.

35 users = about 13.5% of the total number of respondents (i.e. the 258 users who are/were possible iPhone buyers). So we could say that, without the antenna issues, Apple would have sold 13.5% more iPhone 4s in the US until now.

Had an iPhone for Verizon Wireless existed, the Cupertino company would have sold many, many more smartphones.

As Fortune reports, Piper Jaffray’s survey implies that the lack of a CDMA iPhone made for Verizon Wireless “is holding sales back by about three times more than the antenna issue”.

Here’s a table with the survey’s numbers:

'Harry Potter' trio talks 'war film' final installment. WARNING: You might cry.

Granted, I’m sleep-deprived, which brings emotions to the surface easier, but I was just reading Empire‘s excellent cover story on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and teared up. Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint almost got me talking about the battle of Hogwarts, which is essentially the second half of the last film: “In the courtyard there’s this huge pile of rubble; you almost want Panzer tanks coming over it,” Radcliffe says. Adds Grint later in the piece, “It turns into a bit of a war film. The castle is on fire with rubble and bodies littered everywhere — and they’re all kids as well! It’s quite moving.” Radcliffe nearly got me talking about Harry’s showdown with Voldemort: “I mean, Voldemort does absolutely kick six bells out of me, and that’s what makes it effective, the fact that Harry’s a kid having the crap beaten out of him. If it’s Voldemort killing an adult — well he does that loads in the films. To see him brutalising and desperately trying to kill a 17-year-old boy is hopefully going to shake some people up.” And Emma Watson totally got me explaining a scene written specifically for the screen of Hermione leaving her parents’ home — and erasing their memories of her. “You don’t read that in the book; you just know she does it…. You see Ron’s home and Harry’s. But you never really get a sense of Hermione’s life outside Hogwarts, outside that friendship, and it’s important,” Watson says. “She’s not just going off to school for another year. You’re choosing between family and friends; it’s pretty brutal. They offer her a cup of tea, completely unaware that anything’s about to happen, and then I cast a spell that wipes their memory of me. There’s photos all around the room, actual childhood pictures of me, and they just dissolve. It’s horrible. And then I have to shut the door and walk out alone.”

Anyone else get a little misty?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Buy $40 Million Home

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have a new place to kick back -- a $40 million mansion in the hills of Valpolicella in northern Italy. It's the couple's third home, joining their LA pad and a $3.5 million New Orleans house.

According to the Daily Mail, the dream home sports a vineyard, stables, a movie theater, a gym, two swimming pools, all in 18,000 square feet with 15 bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

"Angelina apparently fell in love with Italy after filming 'The Tourist' there earlier this year," the Daily Mail writes. "She and Brad intend to use the Italian property as a vacation home and continue to use their Loz Feliz house as their main base."

The couple, who have six children, plan to restore the mansion.

iPod touch (2010) torn down, found to contain an awful lot of battery

As predictable as the sun rising somewhere over east Japan, the iFixit crew have put their tools and wits to the task of deconstructing the latest generation of iPod touch. Their teardown is still ongoing (exciting, isn't it?), but here are their observations so far. The new touch is noted as being the easiest to crack open yet, and yes, its retina-busting 640 x 960 LCD is fused to the external glass, just like the iPhone 4. There's an 11-gram EMI shield between the front end and the battery, accounting for a lofty 10 percent of the portable media player's weight. Beyond it, you'll find a chunky 3.44Whr Li-Pol cell, which is soldered to the board as is usual Apple practice, but a novelty here is that the headphone jack isn't. Great, tie down the thing we might want to replace and untether the one we don't care about. We'll keep you updated with any other salient info as it arises, but for now, go check out the source link for more pictures of the undressed iPod touch.

Jen Aniston, Courteney Cox Reunite on Cougar Town Set!

Jen 'n Courteney: together again!

ABC has released new pics of Jennifer Aniston filming her cameo on Cougar Town, in which her best pal and former Friends cohort Courteney Cox stars.

In the show's Sept. 22 season-two premiere, Aniston, 41, will play a "shrink named Bonnie" to Cox's character Jules, the show's executive producer Bill Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly.

Katie Holmes Isn't Ready to Have More Children

Although Katie Holmes has been busy promoting her latest film 'The Romantics' in NYC and filming 'The Kennedys' in Toronto, she's still making plenty of time for her family. But in order to keep it that way, she's not having any more children ... for now.

"Maybe in a couple of years, but right now I want to make sure I'm really there for Suri," Holmes says in the October 2010 issue of Marie Claire, on stands Sept. 14. "I'm the youngest in my family -- my closest sister is 5 years older than me, and the next one is nine years ahead of me, so I was a bit of an only child, and I liked it! I liked having all of my mom's attention, and sometimes I think I still do."

And life as Mrs. Tom Cruise hasn't lost its luster. "It's really exciting. Tom's as big at home as he is on the movie screen. He's so passionate about everything, whatever he's doing. When he's being a dad, he's right there; he's giving it his all. It's inspiring and it's fun. It's an amazing life, but we always remind ourselves of how incredibly lucky we are."

Holmes reveals the pair visit each other on set when they can and arrange date nights, usually screening a current movie in their Beverly Hills home, followed by "probably a two-hour discussion about what we thought."

AT&T exec surprised by slow BlackBerry Torch 9800 sales

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 was supposed to be RIM’s great new entry into the high end smartphone space. With a capacitive touchscreen (a first for the Canadian company) and that trademark BlackBerry keyboard, hidden under a sliding mechanism, surely RIM thought this would be an instant hit with consumers.

However, it turns out it wasn’t. A few days after the August 12th launch, analysts weighed in on the sales situation, and what they said wasn’t nice. Apparently only 150,000 BlackBerry Torch units were sold during the launch weekend, a number very far from previous RIM launches such as the Tour 9630 for Verizon, which sold 275,000 units in just one day.

But those were analysts. Today we have confirmation that sales of the BlackBerry torch are very slow from none other than Fred Devereux, AT&T’s President of Wireless Operations in the US West. He spoke during Seattle’s Mobile Future Forward conference and said he was “surprised there hasn’t been a faster adoption” of the smartphone, which he personally thought was the best BlackBerry to date.

Spencer Pratt to Heidi Montag: 'I Failed Spectacularly'

He quickly earned the title of the guy you love to hate on The Hills, but has this reality TV villain turned over a new leaf?

Spencer Pratt on Wednesday issued a long apology to the woman he's divorcing, Heidi Montag, saying he's planning "intense soul-searching" and pursuing "appropriate avenues for my issues."

"Divorce can be a trying, draining, and emotionally devastating experience for all involved," Pratt, 27, tells PEOPLE. "Despite these hardships, most individuals manage to conduct themselves with dignity and maturity. I did not – I failed spectacularly."

Addressing his actions toward Montag, 23, he says, "I horribly embarrassed the one person that meant the world to me. For my outrageous and infantile behavior, I offer Heidi my most sincere apologies."

He didn't specify what actions, but Pratt has been threatening to release a sex tape involving Montag, launched rants against her on Twitter and has been relentlessly pursuing her in Costa Rica.

Willow Smith (Yep) Has a Hip-Hop Song. And It's Good.

We get it, Will Smith! You're talented. Your wife's talented. Your kids are talented. Enough already!

But just in case that fact slipped your mind, here comes Willow Smith, with nine whole years to her name, to remind you again, as her debut hip-hop single "Whip My Hair" has made its way online.

So, what's the verdict? First of all, forget her style, Willow might just be stealing Rihanna's voice. And second of all…

It's age-appropriate! Which is commendable as it's got to be a bit of a battle finding material suitable for someone still in the single-digits. With a Mohawk. And superstar parents. (Though we do wonder what kind of "swagger" and "haters" a nine-year-old faces, nevermind who constitutes her "ladies.")

Plus, it's good, which at this point can only be considered a bonus, seeing as how a recording contract is all but in the mail for the budding and well-connected young talent, who at least on this song seems equal parts RiRi and Keri Hilson. But, you know, the fourth-grade version.

There's no word on a release date, but mama Jada Pinkett Smith revealed on Lopez Tonight earlier this summer that her daughter was already working on an album.

See? Sometimes parents just do understand. We can't wait for that dad-featuring remix.

Angelina Jolie Attacks Quran-Burning Pastor

Angelina Jolie is standing up for Islam.

The Oscar winner, currently visiting flood victims in Pakistan as a U.N. Goodwill Ambassador, is speaking out against a Florida evangelical minister's controversial plan to hold a Quran burning on the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

So what did she have to say?

"I have hardly the words that somebody would do that to somebody's religious book," she told reporters in Islamabad after returning from overflowing refugee camps in the northwest part of the country.

Jolie agreed with top U.S. officials that the would-be protest being organized by Pastor Terry Jones could endanger troops in the field and be used by the Taliban and other militants as a propaganda tool to stir up anti-American sentiment and spark a wider clash between the West and Islam.

As for the flooding disaster, the 35-year-old Salt star, dressed traditionally in a flowing grey dress and black head scarf, urged people to donate as much money as they can despite allegations that Pakistan's government has a corruption problem.

"I don't want some people to use it (corruption) as an excuse not to give assistance," Jolie said. "I have seen what they have done in the field. I've physically seen people assisted, so if you are nervous about giving money directly in one way there are other ways to do it."

Hilary Duff to Star in Spider-Man Reboot?

HILARY Duff is in talks to star in a movie that people might actually watch!

The actress — whose films usually go straight to DVD — is in the running for a role in the Spider-Man reboot.

Duff was seen with a script entitled ‘Spider-Man’ with a character called ‘Girl’ highlighted, according to Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail.

However, it has previously been claimed the new movie — which sees British actor Andrew Garfield take on the role of Peter Parker, previously played by Tobey Maguire – would not feature Mary Jane Watson, the lead female previously portrayed by Kirsten Dunst.

Duff — who is currently working on The Story of Bonnie and Clyde alongside Thora Birch, which is due for release later this year — has a number of movies rumored to be coming up in 2011, including Dolphin’s Tale and The Gift Horse.

Google launches 'Instant' search

Google on Wednesday introduced a faster version of its search engine called Google Instant that begins displaying results as soon as users type in queries.

According to the company, the feature shaves off 2 to 5 seconds from user searches since it brings up results nearly as fast as it does for its auto-suggest feature. In fact, it will automatically do a search for the top auto-suggestion before a user has even selected it.

Google estimates that if all its users switch over to the instant interface, it will amount to a savings of 11 hours of searching per second.

Mozilla: Now is the time for browser-based games

Computer games have played an important role in advancing the state of the art for computing, and now Mozilla hopes to draw upon gaming to advance browser application development.

The Firefox backer launched the new Mozilla Labs Gaming project Tuesday with the goal of encouraging programmers to use a host of new browser and Web technologies.

"Modern Open Web technologies introduced a complete stack of technologies such as Open Video, audio, WebGL, touch events, device orientation, geolocation, and fast JavaScript engines which make it possible to build complex (and not so complex) games on the Web. With these technologies being delivered through modern browsers today, the time is ripe for pushing the platform," said Pascal Finette, the Mozilla Labs "catalyst" whose job is to "make things happen."

As part of the effort, Mozilla also announced the Game_On 2010 browser-game contest that will start in September.

Halle Berry Hooking Up with Her Hot, New Costar

The City of Lights has become the City of Love for Halle Berry.

Berry, 44, has been spotted cozying up to her Dark Tide costar Olivier Martinez, 44, in his hometown of Paris. The two have been seen smooching and exploring the city, embracing a Hollywood-style romance straight out of a movie.

"It was the classic 'I'm going to kiss you here in a dark corner' move," an onlooker tells PEOPLE of Berry and Martinez's romantic romp. "And she was waiting to be kissed."

The duo spent Sunday afternoon combing through the streets arm in arm, taking in a pit stop at the Paris flea market.

"They had their arms around each other as they walked," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "They were both smiling and laughing Their body language was very flirtatious. They definitely seemed like a couple – absolutely looked like more than friends."

The two sped off on Martinez's motorcycle before dining at the intimate Casa Bini restaurant. After dinner, Martinez led Berry on a cozy back-streets tour of the St. Germain district at dusk, including Place Saint-Sulpice and its fountain. En route to his Paris pad, the couple stopped along a narrow street and kissed in a doorway for two minutes, says an onlooker.

Android market share to surge over next four years

The global smartphone market of 2014 could see Android in second place with a 25 percent share, followed by BlackBerry, Apple, and Windows Mobile, according to IDC's new "Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker."

Though annual growth in the hot smartphone market may slow in another four years, certain key players will continue to drive sales and grab more market share. No one vendor will dominate the landscape, but Android will enjoy the fastest growth, IDC forecasts.

Nokia's Symbian will hang on to its No. 1 spot with 32.9 percent of the market in 2014. But it will lose some customers to Android, which will see its share climb from 16.3 percent this year to 24.6 percent.

"Phone vendors have been drawn to Android because it allows them to present their own approach to what a smartphone experience can be," Ramon Llamas, a senior research analyst with IDC's Mobile Devices Technology and Trends team, said in a statement. "In addition, users have quickly warmed to Android, comparing it to iOS due to its ease of use and a growing mobile application storefront. Now that HTC and Motorola have leapt out in front with their own respective devices, other vendors such as Dell, Kyocera, LG Electronics, and Samsung will soon help grow the Android market."

Joel McHale Jessica Alba “Spy Kids 4″ Movie

Robert Rodriguez is rebooting his Spy Kids franchise with Joel McHale — side-splitting host of E!’s The Soup — and sexy screen siren Jessica Alba starring as a pair of parenting secret agents, Variety reports.

The actress will reunite with her Sin City and Machete director to play a mother of a baby and two pre-teen stepchildren who swaps her soccer mom existence for a return to professional spying after learning of a sinister plot to freeze time.

Also new to the franchise will be the so-called Spy Kids themselves. Rodriguez is looking to cast a trio of youngsters to take over for original stars Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara in supporting roles alongside McHale and Alba.

Production on Spy Kids 4: All The Time In The World kicks off next month in Austin, Texas. It will be the second movie in the once popular series to be released in 3D.

Lady Gaga Breaks Up a Fight at 'Monster Ball'

Lady Gaga stopped her performance short at her 'Monster Ball' in Washington, D.C. last night, after a fight broke out in the crowd. "Stop the music! Stop fighting! Do not fight at this show," Gaga exclaimed to the unseen offenders, leading the rest of her audience of rapt "little monsters" to break out in excitement. "This is all about love and unity and happiness -- no fighting."

The pop star wasted no time finding her place after the incident, however, promptly asking the crowd, "Do you think I'm sexy? I think you're sexy."

It's Official: Piers Morgan to Replace Larry King

CNN has made it official, announcing Wednesday that reality TV host and former tabloid editor Piers Morgan will replace the departing Larry King in the coveted 9PM time slot, according to The New York Times.

The British-born Morgan, currently a judge on NBC's 'America's Got Talent,' will debut the as-yet-unnamed interview show in January, a month after King signs off from the long-running 'Larry King Live,' which has aired for 25 years.

Jonathan Klein, the struggling network's president, informed staffers of the news in an upbeat internal memo. "We are delighted that he will now bring his dynamic, probing interview style to American television and to CNN viewers around the globe."

UBS: 2011 iPad sales to total 28 million, iPhone 52 million

UBS analyst Maynard Um has raised his stock price target for Apple, Inc. to $350 from $340. The move comes as Um predicts upwards of 28 million iPads could be sold in 2011; a number the analyst described as “conservative.” Mr. Um is also predicting 52 million iPhones to be sold in the 2011 calendar year. Um continued: “We continue to favor product plays such as Apple as the company should have some of the most highly sough referred t after products in the holiday quarter. Despite tough economic conditions, consumers remain willing to pay for innovation. Despite increasing competition in smartphones and that which is soon to come in tablets, Apple’s ability to keep its products fresh and innovative gives us confidence in our estimates going forward.” Unlike 2010, the iPad will be competing with multiple Android tablet devices — such as Samsung’s Galaxy Tab — that offer similar functionality in 2011.

This Article Was Fully Composed On Google's New Automatic Writing System

From now on, instead of using the usual two dozen baboons to randomly write Gizmodo's articles, I am going to use Google Scribe, a new Google Labs application that suggests the next word or group of words as you write.

In fact, this whole article was fully composed in Google Scribe. It saved quite a bit of typing. What is more: The sentence on the image above was fully composed by Google Scribe itself, after I typed the first letter. I only kept choosing options at random until it was done.

Google Now Serving 1 Billion Users Each Week

Today at their Google Search event in San Francisco, executive Marissa Mayer kicked things off with a big state: Google is now serving 1 billion users each week.

Mayer noted that they have some big announcements coming up today (likely these), but first reiterated that they’ve already done a lot this year. In 2009, Google rolled out 500 UI and ranking changes — in 2010 so far, they’re already past that. “This stands to be the best year ever for Google Search,” Mayer said.

Mayer noted that some of the big things so far this year have been Caffeine (the 50 percent faster results), Real-Time, Spelling Corrections, Questions & Answers, Stars in Search, and the Redesign (the left panel).

OnStar to offer Facebook, voice-to-text?

General Motors plans to update OnStar with Facebook integration and voice-to-text messaging, according to Bloomberg.

Citing unnamed sources, Bloomberg reported Tuesday that OnStar will unveil an update this month that will let people connect to their Facebook profile and translate voice messages to text. Bloomberg's sources said OnStar might also provide smartphone-linked "entertainment and information services."

Bloomberg's report follows a CNET interview with OnStar President Chris Preuss earlier this month. Preuss didn't provide many details, but he said his company will announce a "relaunch" of its service on September 15. The announcement will unveil a service that is "better all around," Preuss said.

OnStar's efforts mirror the new services Ford announced for its Sync service at CES in January. The company unveiled a feature that lets people access the Web, including Twitter specifically. Ford plans to make the new Sync software available in its 2011 models.
