HK model Angelababy proves she is no 'artificial beauty'
Hong Kong model Angelababy revealed on Tuesday during a publicity event that she had taken the unusual step of getting a cosmetic surgeon to confirm she had not gone under the knife to enhance her facial features, reported Hong Kong media.
"About a month ago, I saw a cosmetic surgeon to officially verify the fact. The doctor examined me for about half an hour to see if I had any (surgical) wounds on my face, and if there is anything unnatural about its structure.
"I didn't want to say anything about it earlier because I didn't want it to become another news topic," said the model, whose real name is Yang Ying.
Yang explained that she decided to undergo the medical examination because she wanted to clear her name once and for all.
"I wanted to refute these allegations because too much has been said about this matter," Yang explained.
She added that the results will be used as ammunition in a lawsuit she intends to take out against an entertainment magazine, which she claimed had defamed her.
The publication had reportedly dug up photos of Yang when she was younger and compared it to her current ones.
It suggested that Yang had work done on her face, claiming that she had thicker lips before and looked too different from what she looks like today.
Yang started modelling at the tender age of 14 in 2003 and belongs to the same agency as Shanghai model Lynn Hung.
She gradually gained popularity before becoming one of Hong Kong's top models in 2007 and went on to appear in movies such as "Short of Love" in 2009 and "Hot Summer Days" in 2010.
She is rumoured to be seeing "Ip Man 2" star Huang Xiaoming and the pair have been photographed together, but both parties denied they are in a relationship.
