On Friday, Entertainment Weekly spilled that the singer will appear in the show as Jessica Glitter, Robin’s (Cobie Smulders) former bestie, on an episode airing during the show’s forthcoming sixth season.

The new season of How I Met Your Mother will premiere Sept. 20 on CBS, while the episode featuring Scherzinger is expected to air in November.

Justin Bieber Miley Cyrus “Grease” Remake?

Justin Bieber believes he’s the ideal person to fill John Travolta’s shoes and take on the role of Danny in a remake of the 1978 movie musical Grease. In fact, he’s already got an idea of who he wants to star as Danny’s Aussie love interest, Sandy — a role originated by singer/actress Olivia Newton-John.

“I would go for Miley Cyrus without hesitation. She can sing, dance and act,” the “Someone to Love” idol, 16, tells London’s The Sun.

Justin also wants some more of his favorite ladies to join the cast of his fantasy movie.

“I would love to include Cheryl Cole as well. She would look great in the Rydell High cheerleading uniform,” Justin joked of the British beauty, who he recently ranked among the hottest women in the world. Her Scottish cat lady persona would make talent show superstar Susan Boyle perfect for the role of Principal McGee, as long as the script can be changed to ensure she gets to sing.

“I am obsessed with Susan. When I look at her original audition it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.”

Intel Q3 estimates reduced on soft demand for PCs; Buy Infineon's mobile unit

After a record setting Q2 for Intel the company is warning investors that earnings for Q3 will be below expectations. That is a marked turn around in only a few months for Intel. Intel reported recently that it expects the Q3 revenue to be $11 billion plus or minus $200 million.

The estimates before were pegged at $11.2 to $12 billion. The reason cited by Intel for the change in estimates is a weaker than expected demand for computers in mature markets. Intel is now projecting gross margin for Q3 to be in the 66% range plus or minus a single point. Previously the gross margin was pegged at 67%.

Intel does point out that some of the lower volume is being offset by higher average selling prices thanks to higher demand from enterprise customers. All other expectations for Q3 remain as previously announced.

Intel gobbles up Infineon's mobile unit in $1.4 billion deal, looks to 'accelerate 4G LTE'

Infineon, the company behind the baseband chips inside your super-duper new phone, is about to cash out from the wireless industry courtesy of Intel's insatiable appetite. The Wireless Solutions Business (WLS), which accounted for nearly a third of Infineon's €3 billion ($3.83b) revenue last year, is being sold to the American chipmaker for a cool $1.4 billion. For its part, Intel is quick to reassure the world (and its antitrust authorities) that WLS will continue to operate as a standalone business and continue to support ARM-based devices. Chipzilla's perfectly innocent ploy is to harness Infineon's knowhow in future smartphone, tablet and laptop products, providing both the processing and wireless capabilities. Specifically mentioned in the news release is Intel's ambition to "accelerate 4G LTE" through this deal, while also not neglecting its ongoing efforts with WiMAX, with the overarching strategy being described as "a combined path." We should know more about where this path will take us when the acquisition is completed in the first quarter of next year.

Nokia C6-01 is a Symbian^3 touchscreen candybar with 8 megapixel camera?

The nerds over at Mobile Geek Inc did a nifty investigative piece revealing more details about Nokia's mid-level C6-01 candybar. After making an awkward early appearance on Nokia's Dutch online storefront, more pics along with the user agent profile have been located thus confirming its lack of QWERTY, 8 megapixel camera, and Symbian^3 OS. A nice alternative to the C6-00 slider shackled to S60 5th and a 5 megapixel camera. Look for the new C6 to get official with a very nice price either at, or around, Nokia World 2010 which kicks off September 14th in London. One more front-side pic after the break.

Prince JaeJoong of the Midas touch: Ayu’s sales explode!

Crowned with the title, “Queen of J-Pop”, selling albums has never been an issue for Ayumi Hamasaki. But the ‘Queen’ has her eyes set on a loftier goal – to shatter the record for the most #1 singles sold on the Oricon chart, and she’s enlisted the help of a certain ‘Prince’ to make her dream come true.

JaeJoong was approached by the star to appear in a PV for her previously released single, ‘blossom’, and he commented, “Ayumi Hamasaki is a big senior in my record label, so when I received the offer to appear in her PV, I was really happy. Although I feel a lot of pressure, I’ll try to do it perfectly!”

Prior to the release of the news, ‘crossroads’ ranked at 156th on the Amazon Japan site. Official statements revealing JaeJoong’s PV involvement were released on the 27th, and 24 hours later, the album’s sales had skyrocketed to land in the 5th position overall.

Could this be a coincidence? The rise is too sudden and too extreme to shrug off.

The PV is included exclusively on the ‘crossroads’ CD+DVD package which is scheduled to be released next month on September 22nd.

Why so shy? Miranda Kerr keeps her baby bump well covered as she pops to the shops with Orlando Bloom

Miranda Kerr isn't known as being the shy and retiring type when it comes to revealing her body.

The Victoria's Secret beauty has made millions by stripping off and baring all for the cameras.

But despite the sweltering LA weather the model was covered up yesterday with a long grey scarf concealing any hint of her baby bump when she popped to the shops with her new husband Orlando Bloom.

The couple stopped by How's supermarket in Malibu, but it seems they couldn't find whatever it was they were after as they left empty handed.

Orlando sped off on his Ducatti motorcycle while expectant mum, Miranda took the safer route of driving home in the couple's car.

Bloom and Kerr sparked pregnancy rumours when they secretly married last month in a romantic, intimate ceremony in Aguilla.

The 27-year-old Australian model confirmed her pregnancy in an interview with Spanish Vogue, going on to reveal that she is four months long.

Bloom, 33, revealed his happiness at the news during a Munich photocall for his latest film.

'I'm really excited about it, it's great,' said the beaming actor as he attended the press event to mark the start of filming The Three Musketeers.

But there's a chance Bloom will be away for much of his wife's pregnancy - Musketeers will film largely in Germany and France.

'I'll go home as often as possible. She'll come out here too,' he said.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean star quietly began dating the beautiful brunette in 2007.

They briefly separated in 2008, according to sources at the time, but quickly reconciled.

That same year he flew to her hometown of Sydney, Australia, to meet her parents.

Miranda has plans for a quiet family life - eventually.

'I've always wanted kids, so someday, eventually, yes, it will happen,' she has said.

'My ideal situation would be to live on a farm in a solar-powered house with a hammock and a vegetable patch.

'When this is all over that's where I'll be.'

The baby is due early next year.

Best & Worst of Emmys: Some Mad, Modern LOLZ

Tina Fey and Jon Hamm got Gleeful. Sofia Vergara moves even better in 3-D. And just who did George Clooney bed? Here's the best & worst of the Emmys broadcast:

Best Running Gag: Jimmy Fallon kicked off the show with a rousing Glee-inspired performance with Tina Fey, Jon Hamm, Jane Lynch, Joel McHale, Kate Gosselin as well Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer and more sprinting around singing Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run."

Worst Missed Opportunity: After a funny bit during the opening, Mad Men's Jon Hamm showed that he could be a great comedy star if he weren't so damn pretty. So sad.

Biggest Clown: For a guy who wanted to run away to join the circus, Modern Family Eric Stonestreet delivered a moving, funny speech that was seriously heartfelt. Ha!

Best Reactions: The cast of Modern Family watching show cocreator Steven Levitan looked like they love him as much as his wife. And really, after that bit with the cast and George Clooney in bed we think we may love him that much, too.

Biggest Ladies Man, After Clooney: Stephen Colbert praised some of the greatest female roles in history: John Travolta in Hairspray, Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie and Tom Hanks in Bosom Buddies.

Worst Cutaway: Mad Men's Matthew Weiner was in the middle of this revelation—"I'm so insecure that I actually seem open-minded."—when he got cut off. That isn't going to help his self-esteem, Emmy people.

Biggest Onstage Revelation: Lead Actress in a Comedy winner Edie Falco revealing in her speech, "I'm not funny!" Glad you waited until now to tell us.

Most Confusing: The guy who does the Tonys got an Emmy. How'd that happen?

Best Ricky Gervais Moment: While bemoaning the lack of drinks at the Emmys, the hilarious Office creator offered this bit about who he wouldn't be joking about: "Mel Gibson, come on, no, come on. I'm not going to have a go at him; he's been through a lot. Not as much as the Jews."

Stunning Gunts: The improbably named Emmy winner Bucky Gunts gave Gervais, Fallon and those of us at home a moment of deceptively filthy joy. "I hope it's Bucky Gunts. Because I didn't know you could say that on television," said Gervais. "Let's face it, we're all Bucky Gunts here."

The Only Thing That Sounds Worst Than Bucky Gunts: Julia Ormond described the film Temple Grandin as a "chick flick with bulls balls." And we're pretty sure she meant it as a compliment.

Newcomers Dominate Podium at the Emmy Awards, Capped with A Big Win for 'Modern Family'

Newcomers ruled the early part of the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmys.

'Modern Family' took home Best Comedy after its debut season, ending a multi-year run for '30 Rock.'

'The Closer' star Kyra Sedgwick stunned prognosticators by winning her first Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama, beating out frontrunner Julianna Margulies ('The Good Wife') and previous winner Glenn Close ('Damages').

Though Margulies lost, her co-star Archie Panjabi became another first-time winner in the Supporting Drama Actress category.

She was joined by 'Breaking Bad' star Aaron Paul, who won his first Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama, beating out strong contenders including 'Lost' stars (and previous winners) Michael Emerson and Terry O'Quinn.

It was a year of firsts, with new comedies 'Modern Family' and 'Glee' racking up wins, while 'The Big Bang Theory' star Jim Parsons became another new winner for the Best Comedy Actor in a Comedy trophy. And Edie Falco, who won three Emmys for her dramatic acting on 'The Sopranos,' was rewarded for showing her range on 'Nurse Jackie' with a trophy for Best Comedy Actress.

A repeat favorite that found its way to the podium again was 'Mad Men,' which was a repeat winner for Best Drama.

Another first-time winner shocked in the Best Reality Competition category, when 'Top Chef' beat out perennial winner 'The Amazing Race.'

The ceremony kicked off with a musical number featuring host Jimmy Fallon singing and playing guitar to 'Born to Run,' joined by TV stars Tina Fey, Jon Hamm, Kate Gosselin, Jorge Garcia as well as the stars of 'Glee.'

The only category that didn't surprise was Best Drama Actor; Bryan Cranston won the award for the third year in a row.

'Modern Family' has already racked up so many awards that series star Sofia Vergara* may just have to run naked through Hollywood, as a full-page ad in Variety promised. (* Or Ed O'Neill).

One of the stars of the show, Eric Stonestreet, won the evening's first award, Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy. He was followed by co-creator Steve Levitan for Best Comedy Writing.

Fellow comedy newcomer 'Glee' also got its share, with star Jane Lynch taking home the trophy for Best Supporting Actress in a comedy, thanking her "lord and creator Ryan Murphy" and her younger castmates -- despite her "seething jealousy." Murphy himself won the award for Best Comedy Series Directing.

The Bob Hope Humanitarian Award was presented by Margulies to her former 'ER' co-star George Clooney for his work organizing relief telethons such as the one for Haiti earthquake victims.

In the miniseries category, HBO's 'Temple Grandin' was a big winner, winning Best Made-for-TV Movie, Best Movie/Miniseries Actress (Claire Danes) and Best Supporting Actress (Julia Ormond) among other awards. Al Pacino took home the award as Best Movie/Miniseries Actor for 'You Don't Know Jack.' Meanwhile, producer Tom Hanks accepted the award for Best Miniseries for HBO's epic 'The Pacific.'

Samsung: 1 million Galaxy S smartphones in 45 days in the US

The Android-based smartphones sold across the aisle from the iPhone 4 on AT&T and on T-Mobile, the nation's smallest major carrier.

Samsung's Galaxy S smartphone is a blockbuster globally and recent numbers show it is poised for similar success in the US. The high end smartphone boasts a super-thin form factor with 4-inch Super-AMOLED display and a speedy 1GHz Hummingbird processor.

The knock on Android so far has been that its success rests on the fact that it is sold on Verizon, the nation's biggest and some say best mobile network. 'If the iPhone was sold on Verizon, no one would be buying Android' goes the argument.

Samsung says they've sold 1 million T-Mobile Vibrants and AT&T Captivates in less than a month and a half in the US. That emphatically proves that Android's success doesn't rely on AT&T's iPhone exclusivity.

Samsung launched on August 15th against the iPhone on AT&T with almost no marketing from the US's exclusive iPhone carrier. At the same time it launched on T-Mobile, the smallest carrier in the US. While T-Mobile did throw some resources at marketing their version, called Vibrant, their customer base is dwarfed by AT&T, Verizon and even Sprint.

So why the success?

I think Samsung's numbers are a result of selling superphones 'supercheap'. Google makes the OS for free on the back of ad revenues. Samsung, as a hardware OEM, makes great phone parts for Apple (AAPL) but can also do really well for itself without Apple's huge margins. You basically are getting a lighter iPhone 4-class phone with a bigger, brighter screen for a much cheaper price.

Cheaper? AT&T (T) and T-Mobile advertise their 16GB Galaxy S smartphones for $200 with plan, the same as an iPhone 4 16GB. While that may be true (and a whole other post), most people are buying these online for free or close to it. T-Mobile's Vibrant has previously been free (currently $49) online while AT&T's Captivate is now free with a plan.

Competition between the two carriers also probably drives the price down significantly as well. AT&T doesn't have to compete against anyone in the US for iPhone sales.

The success isn't limited to the US. It took Samsung three weeks to sell a million Galaxy S smartphones globally and they did that before the device came to the US. Samsung announced it had sold 300,000 in S. Korea alone during that time and 900,000 for the quarter. By admittedly blurry comparison, Apple's iPhone sold three million iPhone 4s in the five biggest global markets in 22 days.

If you think Samsung's first month and a half were impressive, consider that in the next two weeks, the phones go on sale at Verizon and Sprint. Sprint's Epic 4G has a physical keyboard,a front facing camera and is ready for pre-order at Amazon/launch on Tuesday, while Verizon's Fascinate version is already ready for pre-order at Best Buy for September 9th launch.

Here's the Verizon Fascinate video, below
