People’s Choice Awards — Winners!

The most shocking thing about Wednesday night's People's Choice Awards?

Well, not much, but that's what made this show so great! Hollywood's fan faves took home top honors at this year's ceremony, including Twilight, True Blood, Johnny Depp and Tay-Squared, Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner.

Depp received the Actor of the Decade nod, but Sasha Baron Cohen's hilarious presentation came close to overshadowing the big honor itself. Before Depp came out to accept with a short, gracious speech, Cohen thanked the performer for roles such as Willy Wonka, which made it OK for "creepy middle-aged men to approach children and offer them candy."

Despite a reported parting, Taylors Swift and Lautner displayed precocious professionalism, accepting their respective honors with sweet speeches and good manners: The Female Artist of the Year and her mom-date even gave Breakthrough Movie Actor Lautner a standing ovation. And Favorite Movie Actress Sandra Bullock brought a tear to our eye with her heartfelt thank yous to family and friends, including husband Jesse James.

Hugh Jackman, Steve Carell, Carrie Underwood, Ellen DeGeneres, Hugh Laurie and Alyson Hannigan were also among the winners, and the Glee kids accepted their award for Best New Comedy—with pizza is tow for the audience. Aww!

Samsung's 14-inch transparent OLED laptop (video)

If you thought the XPERIA Pureness was wild with its meager 1.8-inch transparent screen, wait'll you get a hold of Samsung Mobile Display's prototype 14-inch notebook -- complete with what's being touted as the world's first and largest transparent OLED prototype. When the thing is off, the panel is up to 40 percent transparent (as opposed to the industry average of below twenty-five percent). Not much more to say about it (we'll let you know as soon as our friends from Korea tell us more), but there is plenty to see: so get a load of the video after the break.

Jeon Ji Hyun to Pair up with Ziyi in 'Snow Flower and the Secret Fan'

South Korean actress Jeon Ji Hyun will co-star with Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi in the upcoming film "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan", a Zhang Ziyi and Wendi Murdoch joint production about a female relationship.

According to Sohu.com reports, the male lead will be played by one of Taiwan boy band F4 (Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Ken Chu and Vanessa Wu) but it is not yet announced who will land the role.

"Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" is based on a 2005 novel by Chinese American Lisa See, set in remote southern Hunan in 19th-century China.

It depicts the heart-wrenching love-hate relationships of lifelong intimate friends Lily (Jeon Ji Hyun) and Snow Flower (Zhang Ziyi) who communicated with each other through letters written on fans in Nv Shu, or women's writing, the exclusive secret code by which women communicated a thousand years ago, thereby reaching out of their isolation under the rigid social conventions to share their hopes, dreams, and accomplishments.

The film is directed by Chinese American film director Wayne Wang who also made "Maid in Manhattan".

Shooting begins mid-January in Shanghai.

Mariah Carey Had Paris Hilton Fired!!

Mariah Carey reportedly had Paris Hilton sacked from a music video.

The Obsessed singer was allegedly furious the hotel heiress had been asked to join her for an appearance in a music video for Prince Azim of Brunei — so she demanded he chose between the two of them.

Mariah reportedly said, “It’s either me or her. I won’t do it with her. I’m a bigger name.”

The 40-year-old pop star is now due to appear in 27-year-old Azim’s upcoming solo single alone.

The billionaire playboy — who is the son of the Sultan of Brunei — had originally wanted to improve the track’s chances of success by having both beauties join him for the video.

But after Mariah made her demands, he had no choice but to ditch Paris, 28.

Azim has since promised to fly the diva and 14 members of her entourage over to London from New York by private jet.

The pop diva has been friends with the prince — who is fourth in line to the throne — for several years.

In 2006, he gave her a $5.7 million necklace and matching ring after flying to see her in his private jet.

HP Mini Android smartbook hands-on

Okay, so it isn't the HP Slate, but this Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered, Android-running Mini is definitely a departure from all the netbooks they've been putting out lately. At this point, this is just a concept and the white plastic chassis is far from pretty or final, and frankly it just looks like a last generation HP Mini. The 10-inch resistive touch display was responsive to finger taps from what we could see in our brief fondling. Oh and the Android OS we know and love was, you know, running. It all looks interesting, but for now we were way more impressed with Lenovo's Skylight.

Concert attendees petition on G-Dragon’s behalf

After facing possible arrest, Big Bang’s G-Dragon might face as his punishment for the inappropriateness he displayed to the minors, the fans around the globe began to voice out their dissatisfaction toward the issue in unison.

It has now reported that a thousand fans who were part of the audience on the day of the performance – in other words, the “victims” of G-Dragon’s “crime” – have joined in to form a petition to the Prosecution District. They believed his performance was not bad enough to undergo such harsh consequences.

The petition stated,

In order for a performance to be filed for being obscene, the audience must agree to it. However, the concert was not obscene to the viewers and none of us were sexually offended. We can not let a single performance degrade the quality of the whole concert.

So do you guys agree to their opinion? But come on, guys – how can a boy tying up a girl in a bed and dry-humping her while singing songs NOT be considered obscene and provocative?

Gillian Chung gives "first kiss" to William Chan who wasn't willing to stop

Gillian Chung, William Chan, Michelle Wai and the rest of the cast including producer Chapman To and the director attended EEG's new film <Former 前度> blessing ceremony. EEG's boss Albert Yeung also came to support, which clearly shows this film is a big production. Chapman praised that the acting from the cast was amazing, especially female lead Ah Gil who had a Bob haircut along with high heels. Mr. Yeung praised that she's so pretty that he'll faint.

Ah Gil reveals that in the new film, she plays William's girlfriend, having many kiss and bed scenes. She also gave her first on-screen kiss to him: "When the director called cut, I had to immediately push him away, the second time he backed off himself. After a few more kisses, he was pretty good to kiss. The bed scenes are still undergoing changes, it won't be pornographic." She then laughed and said that William and Michelle will have even more heated kiss scenes. Asked if she's worried that her film cannot be shown in Mainland? She said: "It's an artistic film, the main focus is the Hong Kong market."

William laughed and said that because Ah Gil gave her first kiss to him, looks like the kiss was filled with brain fire, he said: "I'm honored to take Ah Gil and Michelle's 'first time', even if there was no fee, I would still do it! (Who are you more heated with?) Michelle. We kissed more than 10 times and still had to keep going after 4 hours! From the bathroom to the corridor, living room to the sofa. My back was hurting after filming." Michelle laughed: "Kissed so much that my lips felt scraped. We were rolling around so much that our legs were bruised and we had to do it with many movements too." William said that he's usually filming in his underwear for most of the film. To show off his acting career, he has won Charlene Choi, Ah Gil, Michelle and Vivien Chow's 'first time' in different styles. Speaking of Michelle's breakthrough scene of revealing her full back, she said: "I didn't dare to watch the play back, when the Director called cut, I started crying."

Angelina Jolie in "Jealous Rage" Over Jennifer Aniston; Brad Pitt Attacked!

ROFL!

That's about all we can say after reading a pair of tabloid covers featuring Angelina Jolie this week. Like clockwork, the Brad-Angelina-Jen gossip carousel keeps on turning, growing ever more scandalous (and hard to believe) by the week!

Today, two separate publications are alleging ridiculous Brangelina showdowns, the hilarious likes of which have been reported many times before:
  • Angelina Jolie recently "erupted on set" at Brad Pitt after discovering an "intimate gift" from Jennifer Aniston at their hotel, claims In Touch.
  • After his apparent cheating confession, Angelina violently attacked Brad, who sustained a bloody nose, according to the National Enquirer.
We know she said she'd kick his ass recently, but wow ...

Man oh man, Angelina Jolie has really flown off the handle at Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston this time. The previous seven weeks had nothing on this meltdown!

Who would have guessed Angie would be so upset, given that she herself was cheating on Brad last week. At least that's what we read in the tabloids.

Also, how classic are the Enquirer cover pics? That could be anyone's hand, and the bloody nose shot of Brad may or may not be from this century.

Quit mailing 'em in like this, guys. You can't find one current photo of scruffy Brad for your made-up stories? You gotta try a little harder than that.

4minute HyunA’s “Change” MV is out!

4minute’s dancing queen HyunA, has finally released her music video for Change!

The song and teaser for the MV was released not long ago but it was still an excruciating wait.

HyunA’s new look definitely makes even sexier than before. And she proves her amazing dance abilities once again with powerful choreography.

This makes me and I’m sure will make all of you pumped for Music Bank, where she will make her debut as a solo artist.

Doesn’t it seem like the solo projects girl group idols have been doing all succeed? First, Sandara Park with Kiss, Park Bom with You and I, and now HyunA. Following this pattern, Jiyoon of 4minute will probably do just as well.

Check out the full MV:

Microsoft Tablet is HP slate PC

Microsoft’s CES 2010 keynote is only just starting – plagued by power cuts and temperamental on-stage PCs – but already Steve Ballmer’s surprise tablet unveil has been scooped. The culprit is, ironically, Microsoft itself, prematurely posting the press release to their media site. As for that mystery tablet, despite pre-show rumors its turned out not to be the Courier; instead, it’s turned out to be an as-yet unnamed HP touchscreen device.

There’s a little more detail about the tablet on HP’s Next Bench site. HP have also pushed out a statement regarding the keyboardless slate, which confirms that it will be launching sometime later in 2010 and based on Windows 7:

“An innovative slate product developed by HP was shown on stage by Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer during his 2010 CES keynote. It builds on HP’s pioneering work in touch as a natural user interface and uses the powerful Windows 7 operating system. The HP slate product – yet unnamed — will be available this year. Pricing and specs will be disclosed near its commercial availability.” HP statement

As for the rest of the announcement, Microsoft CES Steve Ballmer is confirming that Project Natal will arrive in time for the 2010 holiday season, and has also been showing off the HTC HD2. That’s confirmed for T-Mobile USA, as we heard from the carrier themselves shortly before the Microsoft keynote began.

MSI Dualscreen E-Reader hands-on (video)

We have been hearing about dualscreen laptops (and readers) for too long now, but it's MSI to be the first to show off a real working unit. And it's everything we have ever dreamed of -- well kind of. Though MSI is calling this dual 10-inch screen device an e-reader, it's really a netbook with two screens since it's got an Atom Z Series processor and Windows 7 Home Premium. But it's how the two screens work together that we can't get out of our minds. Hit the break for some more impressions and to see this crazy thing on video.

The all metal device is about the size of a netbook and it actually felt quite heavy in our hand. On the inside of the dual 10-inch, capacitive multitouch screens work like extended displays and we were able to drag windows from one screen to the other. The entire thing was a bit flaky since it's obviously running some beta software, but the digital keyboard was easy to pull up and had a haptic-like feedback when we started typing on the bottom screen. The whole thing is pretty damn awesome for a very early build, and the fact that MSI actually plans to bring it to market within the year is pretty unbelievable. We'll bring you more details as we get them, but for now check the video.

Is there an "Idol King War" between Jerry Yan and Show Luo?

Idol star from hits "Meteor Garden" and "White Hospital" Jerry Yan and Ella Chen from hit girl group S.H.E. are busy promoting GTV’s upcoming idol drama “Down With Love”. Jerry Yan’s role will be a real departure from the tough guy image Yan holds from his previous dramas. They plan to be guests on various popular variety shows such as “Kangxi is Coming” and “Variety Big Brother”. But one show Jerry will not be visiting is “100% Entertainment”, hosted by Show Luo, who happens to be his fellow idol drama competitor on the current hit “Hi, My Sweetheart.” This evasion has led to rumors of an “Idol King Battle” between the two stars.

GTV (also the channel that broadcasts 100% Entertainment) denies the rumors, claiming there is no truth to the two idol kings having hostility towards each other. They say that the day they were supposed to record “100% Entertainment”, “Ella had to go to Malaysia to promote her concert, and having Jerry on the show by himself would be meaningless. It has nothing to do with Show Luo.”

However, GTV is going to Japan January 10th to promote their summer 2009 drama “Hot Shot”, but only two of the male leads, Wu Chun (from boy group Fahrenheit) and Show Luo will attend. Jerry Yan will not be present, fueling rumors that Jerry and Show refuse to be on the same stage as each other. GTV had an explanation for this as well as they claimed that Jerry has prior obligations on the 10th and once again has nothing to do with the “Idol King war”.

Although Jerry Yan only attended the premiere of “Hot Shot” for 15 minutes, he has cleared out his schedule on the 20th to attend the Asia Premiere of “Down With Love”, then rush to record “Kangxi Coming” and “Variety Big Brother”. Jerry’s agent Fenny joked, “Jerry and Ella have really good chemistry and can show that by appearing on more shows together. Also he really wants to meet Chang Fei (famous musician and host of Variety Big Brother), so we will try our best to comply with his schedule. “

So what do you think guys? Are Jerry and Show secretly battling it out or does Jerry just happens to be busy at the wrong times? This would not be the first time Show has had controversy with other artists as last year around this time there was the issue of exaggerated album sales between him and Wang Leehom. However, that was more of an issue with his company's policies and not Show himself.

Robsten New Year's Eve Photo Details Revealed!

As we all know by now, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart spent New Year's Eve together on the Isle of Wight in the English Channel.

But Holly, the girl—and apparently the only person—to get photos with the Twilight stars, says she didn't exactly see anything romantic between the two.

In fact, they weren't even alone. "They just had some friends with them," Holly, 13, said in an interview with Isle of Wight Radio host Omar Lakhssassi...

Holly said the surprise encounter happened pretty quickly. She didn't recognize them at first, but then she heard them speak. "I was like, 'Oh my God, you're Kristen Stewart,' " Holly said. "And she was like, 'Really I didn't know that.' "

Pattinson apparently didn't have much to say, but Holly said the two happily posed for pics—taken by one of Robsten's friends!

It's a bit unclear whether or not the impromptu meet and greet is what changed Holly's feelings about Pattinson. "I was, but not anymore," she said when asked if she was the type of fan who hung pics of him on her bedroom wall.

So who does she fancy now? Russell Brand!

Katy Perry, watch out!

Windows 7 has lots of 'GodModes' (exclusive)

Those intrigued by the "GodMode" in Windows 7 may be interested to know that there are many other similar shortcuts hidden within the operating system.

Intended for developers as a shortcut to various internal settings, such features have been around since Vista and even before, according to the head of Microsoft's Windows division, who tells CNET that the so-called GodMode settings folder uncovered by bloggers is just one of many undocumented developer features included in Windows.

In an e-mail interview, Steven Sinofsky, Windows division president, said several similar undocumented features provide direct access to all kinds of settings, from choosing a location to managing power settings to identifying biometric sensors.

As with the all-encompassing GodMode uncovered by bloggers, these other settings can be accessed directly by creating a new folder with any name (GodMode or otherwise) and then including a certain text string. Sinofsky noted more than a dozen strings create particular settings folders, in addition to the overarching GodMode folder option.

Sinofsky and others say the term GodMode was coined by bloggers; it was not something the company used internally to refer to the settings folders. Although Microsoft maintains many such undocumented developer commands to access such settings, all are replicated by the operating system's Control Panel settings.

Such undocumented means of accessing various settings have occurred in previous versions of Windows, and the GodMode identified by bloggers was also present in Windows Vista. Some users of the 64-bit version of Vista, however, say invoking the GodMode folder caused their machines to crash. Microsoft says it has yet to reproduce that problem, though several readers have said they have encountered problems.

It seems that the folks in Redmond have gotten a kick out of all the attention that the Godmode has gotten and have decided to have fun with it. Sinofsky sent a list of other commands that also create special folders (see list below).

Given the Vista issues, though, I would try these only on a Windows 7 machine, ideally a test machine. To make it work, create a new folder with any name, then a period, then one of the text strings below.

For example, the first one could be a folder named "thankscnet.{00C6D95F-329C-409a-81D7-C46C66EA7F33}" (use everything inside quotes--but not the quotes themselves).

Video: Google’s “F*ck You iPhone” Phone. The REAL Google Phone (Satire, NSFW)

As we’re all well aware, Google released the Nexus One yesterday, the first supposed “Google Phone.” But it’s hardly an iPhone killer. For that role, Google has something much more sinister in mind. Meet the “Fuck You iPhone” Phone.

I don’t even know where to begin. The best bits: ”The fastest processor ever in a mobile device. Also, it fucks with iPhones and the tools that own them.” ”This phone will fuck with any iPhone’s shit. Hard.” The “Optimized Urination Interface.” And yes, the phone used as the new Google Phone is an iPhone. Great stuff from LandlineTV.

Esther Kwan plays against Michelle Yim in "The Season of Fate"

Salty, sour, bitter, spicy and finally sweet are the best expression to describe the "Five flavors of life" in TVB upcoming series "The Season of Fate". In this series, Esther plays against Michelle Yim and Roger Kwok. Since Esther gave birth to her daughter Brittany in 2006, she put aside her career development to a halt to stay at home as much as she can to be with her daughter. She even stopped working on "Best Selling Secret" half way through the series, so that she could spend more time with Brittany. Last year producer Cheung Kin Man once again invited her to return on screen to do "The Season of Fate". Esther liked that role so much and the timing was right too, so she agreed. Cheung said "Esther likes the role very much, when she read the script, she accepted that role straight away. Everybody knows she is very particular about caring for her daughter, it happened that Nick Cheung (her husband) had some spare time in between his work, the main carer's role has landed on Nick's shoulder. Esther can now relax and concentrate working on this series."

In "The Season of Fate", Esther plays a miserable Lin Sheung Chun who was forced to married into the Kwan's family as a concubine. Unfortunately, her husband died suddenly and his first wife, (played by Michelle Yim) had mental illnesses, having the mentality of a 16 year old girl. Chun took over the restaurant business as well as looking after the family and the first wife.

The first episode of "The Season of Fate" will commence next Monday.

Katy Perry Glamour Magazine Feb. 2010: “Russell Makes Me Hop Like A Bunny”

Katy Perry has announced her engagement to British comedian Russell Brand after four months of dating, a rep for the pop star confirmed to Glamour Magazine on Wednesday. According to Katy’s publicist, Brand popped the question in a tent at the foot of a mountain, while the couple was vacationing in India over the holidays.

In an interview for the mag’s February 2010 issue, a smitten Katy opened up about the man she met and almost instantly fell in love with at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009.

“When I find a partner who is my teammate,” Katy said. “I’m not going to play by any rules, I’m just going to go with my heart. Why wait? I just wrote a song [that goes], ‘They say it’s hard to meet your match, gotta find my other half so we can make a perfect shape.’”

Congrats to Russell and Katy!

Lenovo Lephone Android Snapdragon smartphone headed to China

Lenovo have announced a new smartphone, the bizarrely named Lenovo Lephone. Based on Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon processor, the Lephone has a 3.7-inch 480 x 800 touchscreen with a second touch panel underneath rather than physical controls. That responds to gestures, which Lenovo have custom-coded into the version of Android the Lephone runs.

Full details are unknown at present, though we do know that the Lephone has a WCDMA radio, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. There are also twin cameras – a 3-megapixel unit on the back for general use, and a front-facing camera for video calls – and the whole thing measures 12mm thick and 60mm wide.

Lenovo also plan to offer various accessories, including a clamshell docking station which will add a hardware QWERTY keyboard to the Lephone. The Android smartphone will apparently arrive in China in the first half of 2010.
