The thought of marring the EVO 4G's glorious 4.3-inch display sends shivers down our spine, but just remember: this is all in the name of science, and it's for the greater good. An Android Forums member was due to return his defective EVO to Sprint anyhow, so he figured he'd take the opportunity to run the lame duck unit through some torturous scratch tests including keys, a screw, a penny, and -- of course -- a razor blade. After everything was said and done, the EVO emerged victorious, so you shouldn't feel too bad about sticking it in your pocket with spare change knocking around (actually, yes, you still should feel bad about that). Then again, the camera lens didn't do as well, so the lesson is to use common sense and... you know, just handle your multi-hundred-dollar gadgets with care. Follow the break for all the harrowing test footage.

Jay has been carefully building his masterpiece, "The Era" album, for several years. Every word in the lyrics have been analyzed, and the fans are not willing to let goof any chances and clues to get closer to the King of the World (Jay Chou). The fifth song of this new album "Long time no see", was published after rumors were spread online written by Jolin Tsai, which include that Jay and Jolin reconciled.
According to the detailed lyrics, it offers some evidence, such as: "Has your puppy grown up?", "Cold wars are no longer popular", and "Hurry up and come back to my side". It looks as if he really knows what he is doing. According to one weekly publication, Jolin Tsai's agent responded that bloggers have such a big imagination, both Jay and Jolin are still friends.

HTC’s patent-related legal action against Apple took a huge step forward today, as the ITC announced it will formally investigate the claims made by HTC. At the heart of the matter are five patents which HTC alleges Apple is using without permission. The patents include personalized software phone dialers, a phone dialer with memory access, and power-management technology. HTC, which filed the complaint in response to Apple’s very own patent lawsuit against HTC, is asking that the ITC block the U.S. importation of iPhones iPads and iPods.

Talk about eternity in the making! The engagement ring given to Bella by Edward in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, was a true labor of love, reports InStyle.com, requiring a prop master, five different jewelers, several samples and a multitude of research to finally get the glittering piece to perfection–and up to author Stephenie Meyer’s liking. The task of designing the antique engagement ring–described by Meyer in her Eclipse novel as a delicate piece “set with slanting rows of glittering round stones”–fell on prop master Grant Swain, who tirelessly researched Victorian-era jewelry before calling in samples and hiring four different designers to create various prototypes of the ring. But to no avail: Meyer, unimpressed with the model baubles, took it upon herself to draw up a rough sketch of the ring as she had envisioned it. The illustration was sent to Portland-based jeweler Rick Thurber, who used a computerized image of the drawing to create the end result — a stunning pave-diamond ring that was rushed to the set just hours before filming of the pivotal scene began! To get more details about this story, check out InStyle.com, where you can also see how experts envision Bella and Edward’s wedding day.

While in the midst of fixing a unicorn-sized hole in the security of its desktop software, Adobe has been talking about its future in the mobile space. According to its rose-tinted forecasts, Flash Player will be featured in a quarter billion handsets by the end of 2012, including 53 percent of all smarphones shipped that year. Those are pretty strident words for a company that has yet to ship Flash Player 10.1 in even one new handset, but we're reminded that Android 2.2's leading position on the issue will be swiftly followed by BlackBerry OS, Symbian, webOS, and Windows Phone 7 supporting the full fat Flash experience. Whether all that momentum will be enough to produce an install base of 250 million, we don't know. What we do know, however, is that people want the blasted thing and Adobe had better start doing a bit more work on its mobile player and a little less talking about it -- that's what we're here for.

You know the fine print of your EVO 4G contract that gives Sprint the right to limit throughput speeds without notice? Skipped past that part? Well, consider this your unofficial notice. If what we're reading above is accurate, then Sprint appears ready to introduce data throttling this summer. Where and how are the big questions. The image above received from a tipster appears to have been grabbed from Sprint's own "The Playbook," though we have no way of confirming that at this time. It certainly make sense though given T-Mobile USA's recent move away from overage charges in favor of throttling.

Since the 7th Century, only the emperors of China could wear a longpao, a yellow robe stitched with dragons, symbolic of power and prosperity. So it was that conspires of coups forged their own dragon robes at home, only to be found and sentenced to death. So when Fan Bingbing appeared at the Cannes Festival in a dress fashioned after the dragon robes of the emperors, critics compared her with the emperor-wannabes, calling her move a sign of ambition. In an interview with Sina Entertainment (SE) translated by ixiedin@cfensi, Fan Bingbing says it is only her way of showing the world her culture. She also speaks of her ambitions, and attributes to her overfilled work schedule to her just trying to do her best.

Romantic "spy-war" comedy "You Deserve to Be Single" has held its grand premiere in Beijing on 10 June, director Cai Xin together with main cast Angie Zhao husband and wife, Ruby Lin, Mike Ho, Ai Dai, Tao Hong, Gao Fei, Zhang Chao, Huang XiaoLei.etc turns up together. Ruby Lin, who appears in a gown which reveals both her pretty shoulder-lines and leg, and Mike Ho both express that they are currently single, but David Wu "teases" them, "Why single? Don't be too picky, because they aint satisfied, picking too much on their love ones!"
Mike Ho, was said to be too picky about girls. Ruby Lin rejects immediately
"Even when meeting the right person, I will also need a long time to determine that she's my true love, but sadly because of the hectic workload I do not have the time to go and determine this face, that's why I'm still single!" Mike He reveals the reason behind his singlehood, but David Wu teases him, "Being single is because he's difficult to satisfy, too picky!" David Wu won't give up, "If there's a spark, Xiaomei will definitely be the party which needs to be inspected on, because he isn't the trustworthy type." Mike He doesn't rebut but smiles and he listens on. David Wu starts laughing, "Actually everyone is picky in their own terms, because everyone has their own principles." "But", he continues, "I'm not that picky about my girl, as long as she is alive its alright."

Oh, AT&T -- you can't post up a video detailing the testing process for Android phones and not expect us to notice that your guys are waving around the heretofore unannounced HTC Liberty, which was leaked by Android Central on Sunday. Honestly, now. It's hard to tell much from the video apart from the fact that this thing is running Sense and has a flush face with capacitive buttons along the bottom, but the leak says the screen res is just 320 x 480, which is somewhat less than awesome. Of course, AT&T's Android lineup has been relatively low-end so far, so maybe we're not so surprised, but we're hoping this thing is a little more Desire than Legend, if you catch us. Video after the break.

Were you looking forward to purchasing a 16GB smartphone with unique screen technology and an app-centric OS this month? Great, because the Galaxy S pre-order has now gone live in the UK, offering a delivery only four days away from now and prices that are pretty much par for the superphone course. If you want the Super AMOLED machine for free, minimum monthly cost will be steep, starting out at £35 ($51) a pop over 24 months or £40 ($58) over 18 lunar cycles. Both those deals furnish you with 900 minutes of talk time, unlimited texts, and 1GB of 3G data, but the latter works out to be the better value as it tallies up to £720 ($1,045) in total investment over the full term. Then again, most of what Vodafone has on tap compares favorably to the madness O2 is asking iPhone 4 buyers to pony up.
These impending Motorola Android phones are getting rather tricky, aren't they? So far we know the Droid 2 Shadow will be the successor to last year's Droid, with a slide-out keyboard. The Droid Xtreme is the keyboard-less phone which was found in a Verizon gym the other week, but is said (thanks to some spy-shots of Verizon's marketing system) to be called the Droid X.
Details gleaned from the system suggest that it has a 4.3-inch screen, and a "Safari" browser, which we're guessing is a mistake—unless Apple has got over its issues with Google and decided to license out its Safari browser. Oh look—a pig just flew past my window!

According to a Chinese news site, electronics manufacturer Foxconn is closing its China-based factories—including the Shenzhen location which has been scrutinized over rampant employee suicides. This could mean that up to 800,000 workers would lose their jobs
According to the yet-to-be-confirmed report by ON.CC, Foxconn is withdrawing from China because it intends to shift its focus onto factories in Taiwan, Vietnam, and India.

With the big E3 Expo set to kick off in just four days, we must admit to being more than a little intrigued at finding a new PS3 model bumble its way out of the FCC test labs. PlayStation 3 models CECH-2501A and CECH-2501B are both certified for 802.11b/g WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR differing only in hard disk drive configurations. We're also seeing a pair of PS3 DECH-2500A and DECH-S2500A debugging stations -- interesting since a debug unit is typically only required when there's been a change in the chips on the motherboard. Feel free to speculate as we prepare for E3 to kick off on June 15th.

During the press conference, they announced their choice Male and Female leads which have been kept under wraps: Joe Cheng and Li Fei-Er, both of whom attended the press conference, dressed beautifully. Joe Cheng, who has not been filming for the past one and a half year has especially left a moustache for his role as a self-indulgent photographer. With rumors that the director has just only begun filming because the job was snatched by Ethan Ruan, Joe clarified matters, "There's no such thing, I am good friends with Ethan Ruan, and the media often sends the wrong message."
Joe Cheng denies that popularity decreases because he hasn't been filming
Before the official name list of artistes are released, there has been rumors that Tudou's Drama Series has chosen Taiwan's new blood Ethan Ruan as its male lead, whereas Joe Cheng who has not been filming for the past one and a half years has awkwardly been doubted if his popularity is not equal to Ethan's. With regards to Mark Chao, Ethan Ruan this new breed of Idols monopolizing the Drama Series market, whereas his own efforts can only be in a Mainland China site production, on the day of the event, Joe Cheng explained that there is no such thing. Joe Cheng expressed that although he did not film any Drama Series in 2009, he was not lazing around, "Performing in a play has been a great help in improving my acting skills, and I've also released an album, it's actually very fulfilling. "
