Best & Worst of the Oscars: Ryan Reynolds! Meryl Streep! Other People!

Ten Best Picture nominees! Two hosts! One kudosfest. It's Oscar night, and we've got the bests, the worsts and the most-talked about moment of the night right here:

Most Awkward! OK, we hope they never again get the idea to trot the nominees out onstage so the audience can stare at them like they are very expensive mannequins. They have feelings, people. Pretend feelings, but still.

Best Host: Steve Martin. No, wait, Alec Baldwin...Hey, Neil Patrick Harris is doing this one, too? Um, can we choose Jeff Probst?

Best Opening Jokes: There were so many—some of them were even good! (Not to mention all those lingering looks at George Clooney...)

'Alice' is a weekend wonder: $116.3M

"It was bonkers."

That's how a Disney exec today described Alice in Wonderland's estimated $116.3 million weekend box-office debut.

Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's 3-D party blew away big expectations, sucked the life (and screens) from Avatar, and became Hollywood's first $100 million-plus opener outside of the summer and holiday seasons. As Disney's Chuck Viane said, borrowing an adjective from his studio's film, "bonkers." More results:

Kathryn Bigelow Makes History As First Female To Win Best Director

"Well, the time has come," said presenter Barbra Streisand and with that, 'Hurt Locker' director Kathryn Bigelow made history as the first female director in film history to win Best Director.

"There's no other way to describe this. It's the moment of a lifetime," said Bigelow, clearly stunned by the enormity of the moment. 'The Hurt Locker' was the night's big winner, with six awards overall, including Best Picture.

Bigelow had become the front runner over the lengthy awards season, leaping over her ex-husband James Cameron, who helmed 'Avatar.'

She dedicated her award to soldiers fighting around the world. "May they come home safe."

Oscar 2010 Winner "The Hurt Locker", Sandra Bullock, Jeff Bridges; Winners Complete List

And The Oscar goes to….Sandra Bullock and Jeff Bridges earned standing ovations as they took home lead actor statuettes at the 82nd Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Bullock won for her role as a wealthy Southerner who takes in a homeless future NFL star in the inspirational biopic The Blind Side. After 38 years, Bridges finally went home a bride. He won a Best Actor Oscar at Sunday’s ceremony, his first ever Academy Award, for his role as a drunken country singer who finds redemption in Crazy Heart.

The Hollywood veteran was first nominated for The Last Picture Show in 1971.

“Mom and dad! Yeah look! Woo-hoo! Thank you mom and dad for putting me onto such a groovy profession,” said Bridges. “This is honoring them as much as it is me.”

Miley Cyrus Confirms She's Dating Liam Hemsworth

After months of being photographed smooching and holding hands, Miley Cyrus has confirmed that she and her Last Song costar Liam Hemsworth are an item.

Asked on E!'s pre-Oscar special if she and the Aussie actor are dating, she said, "Yes."

Is she in love?

"Maybe," a coy Miley, 17, replied.

They didn't make their red carpet debut at the Oscars, Instead, Miley was accompanied by her mother, Tish, who showed off angel wing tattoos on her back.

When Ryan Seacrest joked that Tish is a bad influence, Miley chimed in: "She has nice choices in tattoos."

As for her frock, Miley said she wanted to look "Marilyn Monroe-esque."

So she went with a custom champagne colored silk and tulle strapless bustier bodice gown by Jenny Packham.

"I am a little bit nervous about the stairs!" Miley said of her dress. "Last time I was here, I was with my dad and he kept stepping on my dress. I am hoping that doesn't happen again!"

Steve Jobs spotted at the Oscars; iPad ad runs

He wasn't lining up for an interview with Ryan Seacrest about what designer made his suit, but a few eagle-eyed bloggers on location at the 82nd Academy Awards on Sunday evening say that Apple CEO Steve Jobs was in attendance. In a tux, not a black turtleneck.

Blogger and Web video personality Wayne Sutton snapped a far-away shot of someone whom he believed to be Jobs, accompanied with "OMG it's Steve Jobs! I'm the only one yelling at him." Indeed, Sutton's photo shows Jobs' unmistakable profile filing into the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. CNET has placed an inquiry to Apple PR to verify that it is indeed him (Jobs has a famous satire-blog impersonator, after all).

Apple A4 chip, iPad vs. the competition

As the Apple iPad and its A4 chip get ready to ship on April 3, the competition is not standing still--and, by all appearances, there's plenty of it.

As reported back in January, the A4's central processing unit, or CPU, design, as it stands now, is thought to be based primarily on technology from U.K.-based ARM. Linley Gwennap, who is the president and principal analyst of The Linley Group, believes the A4 uses a fairly common ARM CPU designed by Intrinsity and manufactured by Samsung.

Where Apple, instead, may have chosen to enhance the A4's capabilities is outside the core CPU, modifying functions such as the 3D graphics engine. Along these lines, last year, Apple picked up former chief technology officer Bob Drebin of the Graphics Products Group at Advanced Micro Devices, who is now listed as a senior director at Apple.

Palm Elan to be the next webOS smartphone, heading to AT&T?

Here's a little spicy rumor for you Palm fans on this tranquil Sunday: according to TopTongueBarry who claims to work for AT&T, his company has just finished certification tests with GSM flavors of the Pre Plus and Pixi Plus ahead of a possible April 26th launch -- a date not far from what we've heard earlier. However, the bigger news from Barry is that the big A will soon be testing a third mysterious webOS device by the name of Palm Elan, which may greet us mere mortals on May 10th (but possibly in Europe first). Another forum member Shadow-360 also dug up some cached pages that claimed to have accessories for the non-existent device, as pictured above. Of course, this could be just a crude joke for a keyboard-less Palm device that many of us seem to desire -- as reminded by the good folks at PreCentral, Elan is also the name of the company that sued Apple over multitouch patents last April. So, any thoughts on this leak? Are we all ready for a new webOS phone?

Former HK actress Gigi Lai pregnant with twins

Good things come in pairs. This adage rings especially true for former Hong Kong actress Gigi Lai.

After consulting Hong Kong celebrity fertility specialist Clement Ho, who counts actresses Carina Lau and Sandra Ng among his clients, and spending HK$300,000 (S$60,000) on artificial insemination procedures, Lai is reportedly five months pregnant with twins.

Lai, 39, had been trying to have children ever since she married wealthy Hong Kong businessman Patrick Ma, 53, in January last year.
