'Expendables' exclusive: Sylvester Stallone talks '$15 billion' scene with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: we couldn’t be more pumped for Sylvester Stallone’s all-star action extravaganza, The Expendables. If you’ve been tracking this pecs-pumping, pyrotechnics-palooza with us, then you’re already hip to the summer 2010 film’s hulking, Who’s Who he-man cast (Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, etc.). You’ve also seen the early photos of a tattooed and totally ripped Stallone and heard that Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger would drop by for cameo appearances, pretty much cementing the film as a one-stop shopping site for ’80s blow-’em-up blockbuster lovers. And, more recently, you’ve been with us as we shared the movie’s rowdy, red-meat trailers. Well, now we have something new on The Expendables front — an exclusive from the director and star of the film: Stallone himself.

Recently, we reached the Rambo star by phone as he was taking a break from watching the dailies of his mercenaries-on-a-mission flick. And the scene he was watching was none other than the one that every card-carrying action aficionado has been awaiting with baited breath — the scene that finally brings together the holy trinity of ’80s tentpoles: Stallone, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Here’s what Sly had to say…

“I was just looking at the dailies, saying, ‘Jesus, this is amazing!’ I talked about this scene with these guys for a long time, but I never thought it would come to fruition.”

Stallone said the superstar-summit scene takes place in a church, where Willis’ nasty antagonist has summoned Stallone’s macho mercenary to finally meet him face-to-face, take measure of him, and possibly hire him for a death-defying mission. But just as the meeting gets under way and smartass smalltalk is made, in walks another killer-for-hire — Stallone’s longtime rival, who Willis has also invited to this job interview: Ah-nuld.

“Bruce says ‘Well, there’s one other person I want to talk to before I hire you,” says Stallone. “And then Arnold, who plays my old rival, walks in. We have a history together. And we go back and forth and I tell him that I should have shot him a long time ago when I had the chance. Then it goes on from there. And here we are, the three of us trying to man up to one another, playing off of who we are, using our baggage in this one scene.”

Stallone says that big scene with Willis, Schwarzenegger, and himself would amount to more than a cameo or a stunt in the final cut of the film. “It’s probably going to be about 5 minutes of screen time.” Which, if you think about it, is kind of impressive considering that Willis and Schwarzenegger were only on the L.A. set for 6 hours. “We only had them for that one day and then Bruce had to go off to Istanbul and Arnold had to go back and do his governmental stuff. But I was impressed because they got up at 5:30 in the morning to do this.”

When asked if the Governator was rusty since he hasn’t been on screen since 2004’s Around the World in 80 Days and has spent most of his time in Sacramento, Stallone laughs and says no. “It’s like riding a bicycle.” Then he adds, “It’s funny because between the three of us, if you add up all the box office and DVD rentals and all of that, there’s like $15 billion in that one scene!”

While we won’t vouch for Stallone’s math, we’re pretty positive that we’ll be adding another ten bucks to that tally when The Expendables opens next August.

If you haven’t seen the latest trailer for The Expendables yet, you can check it out below. In the meantime, let us know what you think. Are you looking forward to the movie? Are you excited to see these three share the screen together?

Exclusive 'New Moon' Scene: Bella's Birthday Comes To Life

Clip from 'Twilight' sequel premiered on MTV's 'Ulalume: Howling at New Moon.'

Reunited, and it feels so good. A new exclusive clip from November 20's "New Moon" is sure to rock the socks of Twilighters worldwide. After a year of feverish anticipation, the Cullen clan is finally reunited for Bella's birthday — and for Stephenie Meyer fans, that feels very good.

As seen on our movie special "Ulalume: Howling at New Moon," the scene occurs near the beginning of the "Twilight" sequel and sets many of the film's major plot developments into motion. It also reveals several new lines of dialogue that seem destined to become instant classics for Twilighters.

"Dating an older woman, huh?" Emmett Cullen (Kellan Lutz) teases, leaning over toward Edward (Robert Pattinson) as the vampire family gets together with their human friend to celebrate her birthday.

The architect of the beautiful Bella bash, Alice (Ashley Greene), excitedly runs around and organizes the gifts, handing one to Nikki Reed and saying, "You first, Rosalie." The beautiful vamp, who is less-than-thrilled about the blossoming Edward/Bella romance, halfheartedly thrusts the package toward Bella (Kristen Stewart).

"It's a necklace," Bella says, extending an olive branch. "Alice picked it out," Rosalie responds icily.

Pushing the star-crossed lovers together, Alice then grabs a camera and says, "Show me the love!," but you can tell Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella have a lot on their minds. Then she hands over the next gift, saying, "This one's from Emmett."

Rattling the empty box, Bella gives Edward's teddy-bear brother a look. "I already installed it in your truck," he explains. "Finally, a decent sound system for that piece of ... "

"Hey!" Bella grins. "Don't hate the truck."

Next up is something from her soon-to-be parents-in-law. "Just a little something to brighten your day," Dr. Carlisle Cullen (Peter Facinelli) explains, standing next to Esme (Elizabeth Reaser).

As Twilighters know, however, the rest of the party is a long way from perfect. Opening up the gift, Bella cuts her finger on the paper, releasing a gush of blood as tempting to vampires as fresh chocolate-chip cookies coming out of the oven.

We've seen what happens next in the "New Moon" trailers, but this extended glimpse builds more tension and further clarifies the physical altercation about to occur. Edward looks up immediately at Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) — the member of their clan who is having the hardest time abiding by their "vegetarian" lifestyle — and his eyes reveal the blood thirst boiling within.

Da S bids farewell to San Cai, looking for breakthrough. Says this new drama sell point is Handsome

Seen as next year most expected Taiwan Idol drama, "Summer Desire" lately became a hot topic, 10 years ago, DaS (Xu xi Yuan) became famous because of "Meteor Garden", 10 years later, being a big sister among Taiwanese Idol dramas, in addition to handsome actors Huang Xiao Ming and Peter Ho made this unaired drama already hot topic !

" Summer Desire" strong cast, big investment

Ming Pao got the tip that "Summer Desire" biggest sell point is that it is really luxurious, first of all, the cast is splendid, Taiwan big sister DaS, with Mainland first rate male actor Huang Xiao Ming and Peter Ho are forming an Iron triangle. In addition, you have many gorgeous women like Patina Lin(林嘉绮)、Coco Chiang (蒋怡) and Maggie Wu (吴亚馨), and you also have old and recognised experienced actors such as Ying Cai Ling(应采灵) and Canti Lau (刘锡明).

About the big investment, Peter Ho and other investors had used more than 1 million yuan and with Peter himself as the producer, all the clothes and cars were luxury items, the drama even filmed from Taiwan to Macao, then to Bei Jing (T/N: I think he meant Tokyo) selling great scenery.

DaS bids farewell to San Cai, looking for breakthrough

For DaS, "Summer Desire" can be said as a big breakthrough, 10 years ago, she was acting as San Cai in "Meteor Garden " making her change from being a humorist and TV show host to be a big sister among Idol actresses, and her fame spread throughout all Asia, enabling her to step into the mainland market.
Theses past 9 years, from Idol big sister to queen rated Taiwanese artist, her wages had also raised from 20 thousand yuan to 60 or even 80 thousand yuan the episode, she's the most expensive among Taiwanese females. Even if she has to face maoinland actresses impacts, DaS still could film at once from 2008 "My So called Love", "Connected" , " Forbidden City cop"; "Future cops" and "Hot summer days" those 5 movies and she still chose to come back to Idol drama this time, and for what ?

DaS says " It must be because of Peter, he brought the novel "Summer Bubble" to me, making me read it, and as soon as I read it, I fell in love with this story, and wanting to know how it would look like as a live action drama, would it be even more attractive than the book ?!? That was the reason why I agreed to act in it.

And after filming "Corner With Love " 3 years ago, I really wanted to come back to TV dramas and find back that feeling of accomplishment when acting."

She isn't worried about the ratings or critics not as good as "Meteor Garden" from 10 years ago, she says " In life, you have to face challenges ad attack, I can't still be saying to people I'm the DaS who acted as San Cai 10 years ago, I hope will remember Yin Xia Mo from "Summer Desire" was acted by me. And Rating and critics won't be relying only on me, this drama biggest sell point is handsome Huang Xiao Ming and Peter Ho battle scenes ! "

Meanwhile, the Colombian’s famous curves may be the secret of her success.

While playing back songs in the studio, she has a very effective means for testing out potential tracks.

She added: “I would say, ‘Hey, do you see my hips moving?

”‘No? This is not working. My hips don’t lie.’ ”

S.H.E Reveals Their Vital Statistics Graciously ; Shares Frankly That They Do Not Worry About Concert Sales

Taiwanese Female Group – S.H.E appeared in the OSIM press conference as spokespersons yesterday to promote the brand’s latest slim belt massager. During the event, S.H.E not only demonstrated and performed exercises using the new massagers, but also graciously revealed their vital statistics (bust-waist-hip measurements).

S.H.E was dressed in white shorts and mini skirts during the press conference to showcase their beautiful legs. There was also a special arrangement of 3 bare-torso male models to usher S.H.E on-stage. The trio subsequently wore the slim belt massagers and strike different poses. When Ella put on the belt-like massager for Selina, she playfully smacked Selina’s buttocks and got everyone roaring with laughter. Amongst the trio, Selina appeared most sexy as she kept shaking her bottoms in an alluring manner. Yesterday S.H.E also autographed for 70 customers who purchased the new slim belt massager.

Comparable Figures

After the press conference, S.H.E was asked if they are happy with their figures? Selina said based on the fact that their figures are Nature’s work, they are already very satisfied. Hebe then joked she has her parents to thank for. When asked on areas that they wish to focus on to workout, Ella said that would probably be the lower abdomen and the “bye bye flesh” (flabby arm). She continued to joke that instead of saying “bye bye”, they would use their fingers to “say hi” now. The media subsequently asked if the trio could disclose their vital statistics. Ella graciously replied she does not mind sharing, but Hebe added quickly that she has forgotten hers. In the end the trio still disclosed their vital statistics with Hebe’s being 32-24-33; while Ella shared her top is 34, and her waist is 26 or 27 and her hip is 35 or 36. On the other hand, Selina’s measurements are about 33-26-34. So when we ask who has the best figure amongst them, Ella smiled and said everyone is good and it is evident from how hot Hebe looked during the concert.

Birthday Celebrations with Chinese Mitten Crabs

When probed on their remuneration for endorsing the newly launched massagers, Ella smiled and replied it is very equitable. Usually the trio would go for massages but each visit to the therapists would require at least 2 hours. Hence the newly launched slim belt massagers provide great convenience to them. Ella further joked that every boss should get one for each of their staff. In addition as Selina’s birthday falls on 31 Oct, which coincides with S.H.E’s concert in Shanghai, there will be a birthday-cum-post-concert-celebrations. Selina joked that she would want to eat 5 Chinese mitten crabs, while Ella wanted 4 and Hebe further added she wanted 6.

Wi-Fi-free iPhone officially lands in China

It could be the Year of the iPhone in China, as Apple officially started selling its iconic smartphone in the world's largest mobile market Friday night.

While China saw nothing near the frenzy of the first iPhone launch day here in the U.S., crowds there did honor the tradition of lining up for the phone many hours in advance at several locations. A few hundred people queued up in the rain and cold outside The Place shopping center in Beijing, for example. There, Zhi Xianzhong became the first person to get the iPhone from Apple partner China Unicom after waiting 7 hours and 40 minutes, according to China Daily.

As expected, China Unicom, the country's second largest telecom operator after China Mobile, is selling two versions of the iPhone in China under a three-year deal with Apple. But cost could prove to be a deterrent. Prices range from 4,999 yuan (about $732) for the 8GB 3G model to 6,999 yuan (about $1,025) for the 32GB 3GS phone (sans contract).

Consumers can get cheaper, cracked, gray-market iPhone models at local electronics stores or bring them in from other markets. But price isn't the only potential obstacle here. In accordance with Chinese government regulations, the handsets also lack a key feature--Wi-Fi capability, though reports say China Unicom hopes to offer Wi-Fi-enabled iPhones within a few months.

China Unicom is starting off by selling the iPhone in 285 cities. The carrier hopes to sell 5 million devices in three years, according to Chinese news reports, but the company wouldn't confirm that figure.

Leaked docs show HTC's DROID Eris launching on November 6th for $99, running Android 1.5

Like it or not, we've got it on pretty reasonable authority that HTC's first "DROID" phone is nothing more than a rebadged, shape-shifted Hero (something we've been hearing for a while now), and that it'll be launching on Verizon on November 6th, the same day as Motorola's DROID. That means Android 1.5 "Cupcake," Sense UI, 3.2-inch screen, 528MHz processor and so forth. The Eris will retail for $199 but with a $100 mail-in rebate. It'll pack in an 8GB microSD card and the hopes and dreams of a generation of cheapskates that will be hopin' and prayin' that HTC manages to push Android 2.0 onto this thing so they don't look too bad in front of their DROID-toting buddies on Verizon.

Recording for Jade Singers Anniversary, Joey Yung performs well despite having runny nose

Yesterday Joey Yung and many other singers were recording for Macau's "Jade Singers Celebrate TVB Anniversary". Although Joey is sick and had a runny nose, but it did not affect her stage performances. Her performance even seem effortless.

Joey, Leo Ku and a bunch of EEG singers all came together in Macau along with Eason Chan, Kay Tse, Bosco Wong and many other singers for the Singers Anniversary Show recording. Joey expressed that she arrived in Macau the night before and because the air conditioning at the hotel was too cold, she got a runny nose. She laughed: "Just now I saw Bosco wearing a mask, I already remembered the exact microphone he used, I will try my best not to touch it."

For the show, Joey will be preforming Hacken Lee's song <Victory> with Eason Chan. Have already memorized the lyrics way before, she still worried that Eason might make her mess up on her singing. She will also be performing with Miriam Yeung of each other popular hit songs. She said: "I often sing Miriam's songs, I know them all. (How do you feel about Nic becoming a father again?) I saw him earlier and saw that he gained some weight. Maybe he's been eating well with pregnant Cecilia that he's gotten chubbier. He looks handsomer like this."

Dodo calls Joey useless
On stage, the MC Dodo (Carol) Cheng brought up many rumored couples, then she suddenly pointed to Joey: "You are the most useless one, the only few rumors you have are 'C Kwan' and 'Tong Lo Ap'!" FAMA's C-Kwan bounced out and said: "Are you talking about me?", which made everyone laugh.

Eason was asked if he's going to be like Nic and become a father again? He said: "I don't know!" Eason and Kay are currently rumored together, but backstage Eason and his "love enemy" were very chatty with one another.

Google: We're not making Android hardware

Last week TheStreet.com reported that Google had plans to sell a Google-developed phone at retail this year, bypassing carriers with its own Android implementation. But Rubin, vice president of engineering for Android at Google, scoffed at the notion that the company would "compete with its customers" by releasing its own phone.

"We're not making hardware," Rubin said. "We're enabling other people to build hardware."

Now, Google has played a role in designing phones that have emerged with Android, such as the G1. For example, Google advocated the infamous hinge design on the G1 based on its desire to offer a phone with a five-row keyboard, Rubin said. That design was not popular with reviewers, however, and Rubin joked that perhaps that's why Google shouldn't make its own hardware.

But pushing for a design feature is a far cry from designing an entire phone, contracting with a manufacturing partner to build it, and working the distribution channels to get it to market. That would be "a fundamental shift" in Google's business model, Rubin said, and one the company does not seem prepared to make at this time.

Rumors of a so-called "Gphone" date back years, long before Google formally announced Android in November 2007. But Google's strategy to date has been a somewhat traditional volume licensing play, working with hardware and carrier partners to spread Android far and wide as the mobile operating system of choice, rather than following Apple's lead with a complete hardware and software design like the iPhone.

Almost two years later, the software is rounding into form with the release of several phones this year along with the pending release of the Motorola Droid, which runs Android 2.0 on Verizon's network.

Mysterious clock on 2PM website

There's something mysterious going on 2PM's Official Website. When you visit the website you see a heart with a countdown timer right under, as of the time of this writing the countdown displayed 70:40.

What exactly does this timer represent? No one knows for sure, but there's speculation that 2PM's official album will be announced when the timer hits 0. Maybe even an announcement of Jaebeom's official return? Cyworld recently announced that 2PM's first official full album was going to be released on November 10th, 2009, but that information has been taken down which causes even more confusion. What do you guys think will happen when the timer hits 0? I'm interested to read your thoughts on this, remember to visit the 2ONEDAY Forums. Thanks to luvmybae for the tip.

For those of you who did the math and figured out the countdown would reach 0 at 4 PM on Monday, here's why.

The countdown is synchronized with your personal computer's internal clock. Also, the countdown never hits zero. If you move your clock forward to 1:59 PM on Monday the 2nd, the clock will read 1:59:00 and will freeze. Nothing happens afterward. The clock just stops. What could it possibly be? 1:59 is the nickname for the 6 member 2PM. Possibly a deadline for Jaebeom to come back? Maybe the announcement of a new member? Who knows, but we'll all have to wait for Monday afternoon to find out. Thanks to sweetpeas for the tip.

Actress Vivian Hsu will soon start work on the new Taiwanese movie Seediq Bale, directed by Wei Te Sheng, who also directed last year’s Cape No 7.

Vivian plays the lead role in the movie that portrays the Wushe Incident, a 1930 Seediq uprising led by Mona Rudao against the Japanese when Taiwan was colonised.

The Seediq are Taiwanese aboriginal people who, along with the Truku people, were previously classified as the Atayal tribe.

She said: “I won’t be speaking any Mandarin in the movie at all. Instead, I would have to speak Japanese and Seediq.”

The movie is due to film for half a year and will be completed in 2011.

It is budgeted at $21 million.
