Eminem leads Grammy nominations, Katy Perry strikes gold in a dazzling dress as she picks up four Grammy nominations

Katy Perry chalked up another golden moment in her career tonight after receiving four Grammy nominations in Los Angeles.

The singer, who dressed to theme in a metallic confection, is up for both album of the year and best pop vocal album for Teenage Dream.

She also received a nod for best female pop vocal performance for her single by the same name, and best pop collaboration with vocals for California Gurls alongside Snoop Dogg.

The nominations were announced as part of an hour-long TV special from Club Nokia, which Katy opened with a high-energy performance.

The show also featured appearances by nominees such as Bruno Mars, Train and Miranda Lambert.

Android 2.x now accounts for 83 percent of all active Googlephones

We're not totally sure that Android 2.1 users will be happy to be bundled in with 2.2 consumers -- after all, there's plenty in Froyo that's not available on Eclair -- but the fact remains that a cool 83 percent of actively used Android phones right now run one of the two latest iterations. A reminder is merited to say that by "active" we mean those that accessed the Android Market over the foregoing two weeks -- which might have a slight bias toward over-representing the newer phones with folks either abandoning their Cupcake and Donut handsets or simply not searching for new apps for them. Either way, we reckon it's good to see such nice big slices taken up by Android's most advanced versions, it seems almost a shame that Gingerbread's arrival will soon disrupt things all over again. For now, we're off to our delicatessen, all this food talk's given us the munchies.

Eric Tsang tells Raymond Lam to work bottom-up "give up on the rich boy infatuated roles"

Shaw Brothers Lunar New Year film I Love HK Live Happily held the blessing ceremony yesterday. The cast including Eric Tsang, Sandra Ng, Tony Leung Ka Fai, Fala Chen, Aarif Lee, Fung Shui Fan, Joyce Cheng and many more attended. TVB Production Resource Director Virgina Lok attended and Shaw Brothers Executive Lawrence Wong Ka Hei attended. Earlier Lawrence criticized Virgina Lok's favourite Raymond Lam that he has not got a firm standing in the film scene yet that the film The Jade and The Pearl did so poorly in the box office. This time, Lawrence refused to talk about the "Raymond Lam issue", he said that he does not want to make the issue big. Asked if his position has changed? Lawrence appeared embarrassed and did not know how to respond. Besides him was TVB Foreign Affairs Director, Tsang Sing Ming answered for him.

I Love HK is a film with nearly 100 TVB artist guest stars on the list, except for Raymond Lam. Is it because Raymond's films didn't do well in box office that they are afraid this film may be affected? Producer and cast member Eric Tsang denied, he said could possibly have Raymond too because there are 12 days of filming, whoever has free time can come guest star. Towards Lawrence Wong's criticism on Raymond's standing in the film scene? Eric said: Every one has a box office, he has a group of people watching him, could happen when the film suits him. I have full of confidence on him." Then what roles suit Raymond? He said: "A lot of super stars started off as a bad boy, low level roles, he should give up on rich boy and infatuated man roles, start from the bottom and work up to the top."

Taylor Swift goes it alone at CMTs as new boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal keeps a low profile

She may have a handsome new actor boyfriend, but Taylor Swift doesn't need a man on her arm to feel confident on the red carpet.

The 20-year-old country singer struck a confident pose, hand on hip, in her black sequinned dress as she arrived alone to film the CMT Artists Of The Year show in Nashville last night.

Noticeably absent was her new boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal, from whom she has rarely been apart in recent weeks.

But it's perhaps no surprise that Gyllenhaal, 29, decided not to join his new girlfriend at the event.

The couple have gone to great lengths to keep their relationship clandestine, spending a month quietly enjoying getaways to London, New York, and Swift's home in Nashville.

Celebs Love Jennifer Aniston, So Why Doesn't America?

Notoriously acerbic comedienne Chelsea Handler went on vacation in Mexico with buddy Jennifer Aniston over Thanksgiving and, despite her famously sharp tongue, had nothing but nice things to say about the actress. Handler, who appeared on last night's episode of 'The Tonight Show,' told host Jay Leno of their trip, "[Jennifer] was sweet enough to take me on vacation with her ... I was trying not to get photographed next to her, for obvious reasons."

Handler isn't the only celebrity to praise Aniston in the press. 'The Bounty Hunter' co-star and rumored flame Gerard Butler told Us Magazine of the actress, "She's like my best buddy. She's so down-to-earth, so easy going. She's incredibly self-deprecating and again, just alive!"

While it seems that Aniston has some Hollywood heavyweights in her corner, she can't seem to shake the negative press she earned for her most famous role: the former Mrs. Brad Pitt. Although it's been over five years since Aniston and Pitt divorced, rarely a week goes by without the actress's rumored romantic entanglements appearing in the press, often painting a less-than-flattering portrait of Aniston as some kind of down-and-out spinster.

Despite her fame, fortune and reputation as a genuinely nice person, it seems as though many media outlets aren't ready to let Aniston step out of the shadow of her former relationship or that of Pitt and current partner, Angelina Jolie.

Amazon Web Services takes down Wikileaks; It's in the terms of service

Amazon Web Services has stopped hosting Wikileaks, according to various reports.

Fox News and Talking Points Memo both quote Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) as saying that Amazon has stopped hosting Wikileaks after staffers from the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee asked about its relationship with the company.

We have calls out to confirm with Amazon.

The news shouldn’t be all that surprising. For starters, Amazon Web Services has bigger corporate fish to land that could be jeopardize by messing around with Wikileaks. And it certainly doesn’t help matters that Amazon Web Services hosts the high-profile Apps.gov.

How did Amazon get pulled into the Wikileaks flap? For starters, Amazon’s cloud hosting service is self-serve. You just need a credit card. It’s not like Wikileaks called a salesperson who would have freaked out or at least run the contract by a manager.

In any case, Amazon states clearly in its terms of service that it can host you as well as terminate an agreement at will. In the terms of service for Amazon Web Services, it says:

If you use this Site, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your AWS account and password and for restricting access to your computer, and you agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password. AWS reserves the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, remove or edit content in its sole discretion.

Watch! Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's Flirty Eclipse Commentary

Cuteness alert!

MTV posted a clip from the Eclipse DVD (out this Sautrday) of the infamous tent scene, now including Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's commentary. OK, Robsten lovers brace yourselves! Because their banter is adorable as they giggle their way through it.

But how, exactly, is that possible? See, at the beginning of the commentary Kristen announces she is in Montreal while Rob says he is in L.A.:

Must have been a conference call type arrangement? Because if you watch the clip, there is no way they weren't doing it together ('tho, physically apart). Start the canoodle-conspiracy theories ASAP!

Stellar Warm-up for 'If You Are the One 2'

Cast members of the romantic comedy, "If You Are the One 2" ("Fei Cheng Wu Rao 2"), including Shu Qi, Yao Chen, Sun Honglei and An Yixuan, gathered in Beijing on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 to warm up for the Dec. 22 release of the film.

The film is a sequel of the 2008 box-office smash hit, "If You Are the One", which tells of a middle-aged man's search for love as he sets his hope on blind dates. The sequel follows the development of the man's newly-established relationship with an attractive lady. Both films are directed by Feng Xiaogang.

Ge You, who plays the love-seeking man, was absent from the press conference. The actor is probably the busiest star this New Year's season, having to promote three films, all touted as potential box-office favorites, to which he is a lead actor. The other two films are Chen Kaige's "Sacrifice " ("Zhao Shi Gu'er"), and Jiang Wen's "Let the Bullets Fly " ("Rang Zidan Fei").

Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis swan onto red carpet in elegant dresses (but Winona Ryder is the ugly duckling in a ghastly tux)

Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis made a stunning entrance on the red carpet tonight at the New York premiere of their new film, Black Swan.

Portman, who plays a prima ballerina, looked a picture of elegance in a black, off-the-shoulder floor-length gown while Kunis was equally stunning in a long cream dress with a slashed skirt.

Portman also carried a purse designed to look like the book Lolita.

But their fellow co-star Winona Ryder didn't exact make the same impression.

The actress turned up at the event wearing a very unflattering black suit, black shirt and clunky black boots.

Channing Tatum will go back to school with Jonah Hill in '21 Jump Street' feature remake

Channing Tatum will join Jonah Hill in a feature film adaptation of the popular 1980s Fox TV series (and Johnny Depp’s career breakout) 21 Jump Street, Sony Pictures announced today. Hill developed the story with screenwriter Michael Bacall (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), which looks to be a contemporary take on the show’s peek into the lives of undercover cops working in high schools and colleges. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) will direct the project, which starts shooting in the spring.

Britney Spears Abuse Story Is 'Utterly False,' Says Rep

A tabloid report claiming Britney Spears was physically abused by boyfriend Jason Trawick is not true, according to a rep for the singer.

The allegation came from Spears's one-time husband, Jason Alexander, whose 55-hour Las Vegas marriage to her was annulled in 2004. In the report, Alexander says Spears told him Trawick "beat on me."

Spears's rep blasted the story Wednesday, saying Trawick "has never laid a hand on Britney."

"Every aspect of the story published by Star magazine is completely and utterly false," according to the rep.

An audio clip of the alleged conversation between Alexander and Spears was posted on RadarOnline, but Spears's reps denied the woman's voice was hers.

"The statements attributed to Jason Alexander are a complete fabrication as Britney has not had any form of communication with Mr. Alexander in years," the rep continues. "The audio recording … purporting to be between Britney Spears and Jason Alexander is so obviously fake as to be laughable."

A source close to Spears, who turns 29 on Thursday, told PEOPLE Wednesday that "the couple's relationship is better [than ever]. Britney and Jason lately have been very happy together."

Flash Player 10.2 Beta Announced by Adobe

New update! Plugins for those who love plugin updates so much they sit at the edge of their seat craving the update more than the movies and such they watch with the player! Today they (and you) get a 10.2 Beta release update for Flash Player just so long as they’re on a Mac, Windows, or Linux machine. The biggest upgrade in this build is preliminary support of none other than Stage Video.

Stage Video is an infrastructure for playback of videos that should further reduce the impact playing a video with Flash Player has – on your computer, not impact on how visually spectacular it is. Previous versions of Flash Player 10 (the one you’re upgrading here) leveraged GPU acceleration for decoding video while 10.2 (this update) offloads basically all video pipeline tasks to the GPU to help with the CPU load. Less heavy lifting! In addition to that, 10.2 improves text rendering, full-screen playback for two-monitor setups (allowing playing on one screen while the other stays open for you to continue working.)

ChevronWP7 unlocking tool pulled in hopes Microsoft decides to play along

Could Microsoft actually embrace Windows Phone 7 hacking much like it's sort of done with Kinect hacking? Not very likely, but it seems like the folks behind the ChevronWP7 unlocking tool are at least holding out some hope for that possibility. They've apparently had some "good faith" discussions with Microsoft's Director of Developer Experience for Windows Phone 7, Brandon Watson, and have decided to take the rather drastic step of pulling and ceasing all development on the tool in order to "fast-track" discussions about Microsoft officially embracing homebrew development. Obviously, that may just be wishful thinking, but one thing is clear at least for the moment: it just got a bit harder to hack a Windows Phone 7 device.

Britney Spears Admits Being Abused in Leaked Audio

Star magazine's exclusive about Britney Spears being abused by boyfriend and former agent Jason Trawick seemed a little dubious ... until RadarOnline.com posted a telephone conversation proving it.

The tape is a verified conversation between Spears and her former husband of 55 hours, Jason Alexander. Asked about problems with "fiance" Trawick, Spears replies, "That f***er is not my fiance."

Alexander says, "I thought he proposed to you or something at the beach?" Spears answers, "Before or after he beat on me?"

Star magazine's editor-in-chief, Candace Trunzo, tells PopEater: "After all Britney's been through, it was shocking and very sad for Star to learn that her nightmare continues. I hope she finds the strength to get out of this disastrous relationship."

"It's incredible to hear Britney Spears say her boyfriend beat her up," RadarOnline creator and executive vice president David Perel tells us. "The story and the audio illuminate what's going on behind the scenes with Britney since her public breakdown; the details in Star's story are both heartbreaking and riveting."

Chrome lures significant new browser usage

November was a good month for Google's browser ambitions as Chrome won over a sizable new fraction of Web usage.

Chrome usage rose from 8.5 percent of worldwide Web usage in October to 9.3 percent in November, according to statistics released today by Net Applications, whose analytics software monitors Web traffic extensively.

Chrome claimed most of that share from Microsoft's Internet Explorer, which dropped in overall usage from 59.2 percent to 58.3 percent. Chrome's gains means Google has an easier time pursuing its agenda--adding new features for Web programmers, modifying Net communication protocols to make them faster, and generally trying to make the Internet a place where people spend more of their lives.

Third-place Firefox was essentially flat yet again at 22.8 percent, while Safari crept upward from 5.4 percent to 5.6 percent and Opera slipped from 2.3 percent to 2.2 percent.

Apple's iOS passes RIM BlackBerry as leading smartphone OS in the U.S.

Nielsen's just released a report finding that 29.7 percent of mobile users in the United States now own a smartphone. Of that 29.7 percent (which you can see in the pie chart above), 27.9 percent of them have iPhones, 27.4 percent are BlackBerry users, and 22.7 percent have an Android device. Windows Mobile, Symbian, Linux and Palm are left to divide up the remaining chunk -- about 22 percent -- of the market. That's a massive shift from the beginning of the year, when the iPhone boasted 28 percent of the market, BlackBerry had 35 percent, and Windows Mobile about 19 percent. The biggest winner in this story is Android, which has gone from 9 percent of the smartphone-owning market at the beginning of the year, to 22.7 percent of the market today. The story looks a bit different, however, when people are asked about what kind of smartphone they would like to own next. In that case, Apple and Google are the big winners, with 30 percent of 'likely' smartphone upgraders' reporting they'd like an iPhone, while 28 percent said they want an Android device, and only 13 percent reporting that they're interested in a BlackBerry device.

The picture looks very much the same with current smartphone owners, as well. As far as gender goes, the percentages are very similar when asked what smartphone is desired next, except that more men report wanting an Android device, while more women -- about 12 percent more -- say they simply don't know what they want next. Cecilia Cheung Dons Wedding Dress in Comeback Movie

Paparazzi spotted Hong Kong singer-actress Cecilia Cheung wearing a wedding dress on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 in Macao where she was shooting her comeback movie "All's Well, Ends Well" ("Zui Qiang Xi Shi"), Sohu.com reports.

Cheung and co-stars Louis Koo, Chapman To and Lynn Hung were filming the final part of the movie, which will be screened around the Lunar New Year.

The film is the fifth in a series of Chinese New Year's comedies, the first of which, "Jia You Xi Shi" or "Family's Happiness", was shown in cinemas during the Lunar New Year in 1992.

Barbie Hsu and Wang Xiaofei’s property rejection

They may be the most talked about celebrity couple now but not are all welcoming Barbie Hsu and new hubby Wang Xiaofei with open arms.

On Nov 28, a netizen revealed that Barbie and her husband had intended to buy an apartment in Kunming but were rejected.

The rejection created uproar amongst property industry players, who were curious about the developer which refused the popular celebrity. At the same time, they wondered if the couple was planning to venture into business in Kunming.

Both Barbie and Xiaofei could not be contacted for comment. Their mothers, who usually speak on their behalf, were also unavailable. Finally, the media contacted a rep for Xiaofei's mother Zhang Lan, who expressed that he was unsure of Xiaofei's personal matters.

In a separate report, Xiaofei was seen showing up to support Barbie who was shooting a commercial with sister, Dee in Shanghai on Nov 27. During her break, Barbie joined her husband, who did not hide his affections by placing his arm around her waist.

PlayStation Phone espied in Greece, said to have Gingerbread and 4-inch screen (video)

It's quite fitting for a device that's purportedly codenamed Zeus to make its first video appearance somewhere in the wilds of Greece. What we have here is the apparent full motion debut of Sony Ericsson's big crossover device, the PlayStation Phone, one half portable gaming console, one half Android smartphone. Unfortunately, we never see it flexing out its slider to reveal that delicious control pad, but judging from its curves and little design details, it does indeed look to be the real deal. Techblog.gr reports that it's dubbed the Sony Ericsson Z1 and comes with Gingerbread on board -- something that meshes well with earlier indications that some Zeus devices in the wild are already running Android 2.3 (and above) -- while the screen is a 4-inch panel that apparently offers great touchscreen responsiveness. See the mythical creature for yourself after the break.

Heath Ledger Cameo In Next “Batman” Movie?

Christopher Nolan is reportedly considering using previously unseen footage of Heath Ledger in the new Batman movie.

Ledger, who died of a prescription drug overdose in Jan. 2008, became only the second person in history to win a posthumous Oscar for his supporting role as Joker in The Dark Knight. Ledger’s portrayal has gone down in history as one of the most intense depictions of a character ever portrayed on the silver screen.

“The idea is to use these fragments of cut scenes and use CGI to have The Joker appear one last time,” a source close to production told The Daily Mail explained. “Chris wants some continuity between movies and for the franchise to pay tribute to Heath and his portrayal of the Joker.”

In related news: The Dark Knight Rises, the third installment of the popular franchise, will likely be Christian Bale’s last as Caped Crusader Bruce Wayne. Bale played Batman Nolan’s blockbusters Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

“The thing is that this will be, I believe, unless Chris says different, this will be the last time I’m playing Batman,” Bale told E! News last month.

The Dark Knight Rises reportedly begins filming in May.
