Beyonce And Lady Gaga's 'Video Phone': Check Out A Preview!

We give you a peek at 30 seconds of the video before it premieres tonight on MTV.

It's been a great season for high-profile video premieres. Last week saw the unveiling of Lady Gaga's hyper-kinetic clip for her new single "Bad Romance," the new video for the Chris Brown ballad "Crawl" and the unleashing of Rihanna's cinematic tour-de-force for "Russian Roulette." This week sees another new video, a much-talked-about collaboration between arguably the two biggest divas in all of pop music right now. Lady Gaga and Beyoncé will pull the curtain back on their new Hype Williams-directed tag-team clip "Video Phone" at midnight tonight, but there is already a 30-second teaser worming its way around the Internet.

In the short clip first posted on our Buzzworthy blog, Beyoncé is seen walking down some sort of alley flanked by four men in black suits. B herself is dressed in a sexy one-piece leotard and a Zorro mask. The shot recalls the opening credits of the 1992 Quentin Tarantino film "Reservoir Dogs," which featured actors Tarantino, Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Steve Buscemi, Chris Penn, Eddie Bunker and Lawrence Tierney walking in slow motion. Not much of the song is revealed and Gaga herself is absent from the clip.

In another still from the video (also posted at Buzzworthy), Beyoncé and Gaga are seated in matching poses against a white background and wearing matching white outfits. The only difference? Beyoncé is wearing red shoes, while Gaga's are yellow.

"Video Phone" will premiere tonight at midnight on MTV.

"Unfriend" named word of 2009

"Unfriend" has been named the word of the year by the New Oxford American Dictionary, chosen from a list of finalists with a tech-savvy bent.

Unfriend was defined as a verb that means to remove someone as a "friend" on a social networking side such as Facebook.

"It has both currency and potential longevity," said Christine Lindberg, senior lexicographer for Oxford's U.S. dictionary program, in a statement.

"In the online social networking context, its meaning is understood, so its adoption as a modern verb form makes this an interesting choice for Word of the Year."

Other words deemed finalists for 2009 by the dictionary's publisher, Britain's Oxford University Press, came from other technological trends, the economy, and political and current affairs.

In technology, there was "hashtag," which is the hash sign added to a word or phrase that lets Twitter users search for tweets similarly tagged; "intexticated" for when people are distracted by texting while driving, and "sexting," which is the sending of sexually explicit SMSes and pictures by cellphone.

Finalists from the economy included "freemium," meaning a business model in which some basic services are provided for free, and "funemployed," referring to people taking advantage of newly unemployed status to have fun or pursue other interests.

In the political and current affairs section, finalists included "birther," meaning conspiracy theorists challenging President Barack Obama's U.S. birth certificate, and "choice mom," a person who chooses to be a single mother.

Novelty words making the shortlist were "deleb," meaning a dead celebrity, and "tramp stamp," referring to a tattoo on the lower back, usually on a woman.

Jennifer Aniston wows in a tiny purple bikini in Mexico

When Jennifer Aniston went sunbathing in a small purple bikini on holiday, there was no shortage of people to help carry bags, umbrellas and towels for the actress.

And it was no wonder as the star, who recently turned 40, drew plenty of admiring glances as she hit the beach and showed off her enviable figure in a pretty two-piece and straw hat.

The former Friends actress is holidaying in Cabos, Mexico with friends.

She has rented a large villa on the coast at the exclusive One and Only resort.

There, hotel staff whisked the trim star on a golf buggy to find the perfect sunbathing spot.

An onlooker said that after Jen had applied lotion, bodyguards and friends erected umbrellas so she could lie on her lounger to read a book and listen to music hidden from fans.

While she is in Mexico, the actress will be hoping to escape reports that Angelina Jolie spread rumours about her around the time that she divorced Brad Pitt.

Author Ian Halperin’s new book, The Untold Story Of Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie, claims that Jolie, her manager and brother planted negative press stories about Jennifer in 2005.

One of the stories was that Jennifer put her career ahead of starting a family - which put her directly at odds with Pitt, who was desperate to become a father.

In the book, Halperin writes: [Angelina] was convinced that this is the story that would resonate with all these women who saw her as a man-stealing bitch.'

In the past, Jennifer has revealed that she’d happily have a child through artificial insemination.

'I’m ready for anything,' she said of using a sperm donor. 'Bring it on. I wouldn’t rule anything out. It would not be my first choice though.'

The Marley And Me star has recently finished work on The Baster, a romantic comedy about a single mother, and The Bounty, with Gerard Butler.

Both hit the big screen next year.

Pre-production has also begun on The Goree Girls, where she will star as a Texas prisoner who joins a country band with her fellow inmates.

Microsoft confirms 'detailed' Windows 7 exploit

Microsoft has issued a security advisory to acknowledge a crippling denial-of-service flaw affecting its newest operating systems — Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

Exploit code for the vulnerability was released by researcher Laurent Gaffié after failed attempts to get Microsoft’s security response center to acknowledge that this was an issue that needs to be patched.

Following the publication of Gaffié’s exploit, Microsoft swiftly released Security Advisory 977544 with pre-patch mitigations and a confirmation that the “detailed” code could provide a roadmap for hackers to cause Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 systems to stop responding until manually restarted.

Here’s an explanation of the cause of the vulnerability:

The kernel in Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 allows remote SMB servers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop and system hang) via a (1) SMBv1 or (2) SMBv2 response packet that contains a NetBIOS header with an incorrect length value.

The vulnerability can be exploited via the Web:

In a Web-based attack scenario, an attacker would have to host a Web page that contains a specially crafted URI. A user that browsed to that Web site will force an SMB connection to an SMB server controlled by the attacker, which would then send a malicious response back to the user. This response would cause the user’s system to stop responding until manually restarted. In addition, compromised Web sites and Web sites that accept or host user-provided content could contain specially crafted content that could exploit this vulnerability. An attacker would have no way to force users to visit a specially crafted Web site. Instead, an attacker would have to convince them to visit the Web site, typically by getting them to click a link in an e-mail message or Instant Messenger message that takes them to the attacker’s site.

In the absence of a patch, Microsoft recommends that affected users block TCP ports 139 and 445 at the firewall. Windows users should also block all SMB communications to and from the Internet to help prevent attacks.

UPDATE: Gaffié wrote in to clarity that his decision to release this exploit was related to Microsoft’s stance on a different vulnerability, which is also unpatched.

Shakira Debuts 'Give It Up To Me' Music Video Featuring Lil' Wayne

We is pleased to give you the brand new video from Shakira, 'Give It Up To Me' featuring Lil' Wayne, which is the second music video off her highly anticipated album, 'She Wolf.' The track was produced by Timbaland and features a dance showcase which stays true to Shakira's culturally diverse routines. Watch:

The Future of Linux is Google

Google's slow, steady march into the OS realm has begun to pay off. It's time for the Linux world to rally.

I used to think Ubuntu was destined to lead Linux into the mainstream, but now it's looking much more like Google--not Canonical--will be the first Linux vendor to truly challenge Microsoft.

Google's migration into the operating system business has been so gradual that many industry watchers have shrugged it off. When the company announced its Android OS for phones, it looked interesting. There was nothing new about the idea of using Linux on a handset, and (apart from Google's involvement) little reason to expect it would carve out substantial market share in the competitive smartphone arena. But, with about 20 distinct Android handsets in the hands of more than three million users worldwide--and about 30 more devices expected to roll out in 2010--Google's mobile OS is now looking like a force to be reckoned with.

What's most striking about Google's apparent success in the OS market is that it has chosen not to fight Microsoft where it is strongest (on the desktop), but where it is waning. While Windows Mobile 6.5 is a competent mobile OS, Microsoft has failed to generate genuine excitement for users who've been dazzled by the far more compelling iPhone OS. Simultaneously, Microsoft has not managed to convert its dominance in the data center into a serious challenge to RIM's BlackBerry devices among business users.

Carolina Milanesi, Gartner research director for mobile devices, reports that Windows Mobile slipped to 7.9 percent in the third quarter of 2009. World leader Symbian also slid, from 49.7 percent to 44.6 percent. Meanwhile, BlackBerry and iPhone have grown to 20.8 percent and 17.1 percent, respectively. Amid all this shuffling, Google Android has carved out a 3.5 percent share for itself in the mobile marketplace. Not bad for a newcomer.

The desktop market, over which Microsoft utterly dominates with a market share exceeding 92 percent according to the latest Net Applications stats, is another story entirely. In this arena, all desktop Linux distributions combined comprise less than one percent of the total market--a statistic that hasn't budged in years despite great strides in both the overall quality of Linux distributions and support from major PC vendors.

Google appears to have effectively executed its entry into the OS business by targeting the rapidly expanding mobile sphere, and it's now starting to reap rewards for its efforts. Android isn't just building a user base, it's generating real buzz among consumers. This excitement doesn't appear likely to let up anytime soon, either. With big-name manufacturers rolling out handsets across all major carriers in a steadily flowing stream of hot product announcements, Android's momentum will almost certainly continue to build.

Here Comes Chrome OS

Now Google is eyeing somewhat larger devices with Chrome OS, an open-source operating system for x86 and ARM-based netbooks that will be available for free and may actually surface in beta as soon as this week. While it would be foolhardy to make any bold predictions about this still-unseen OS, conditions look good for Google. Microsoft has regained some clout with netbook buyers by making Windows 7 netbook-worthy, but has also managed to disrupt its own success by placing needless restrictions on which versions of Win 7 will run on certain devices.

Microsoft has reason to be glib. After all, it handily trounced Linux on the netbook platform--even after Asus, Dell, and Acer sold large numbers of Linux-based systems, creating what may have been the largest-ever influx of new users to Linux. Now Microsoft is sitting squarely on top of the netbook market and has begun dictating terms its usual manner. But the battle is not yet won, and there remains a solid opportunity for open source software on netbooks.

Microsoft's main attraction--on netbooks, laptops, or desktops--is its familiarity. Both as a name and as an interface, Windows is a comfortable standard for users. Ubuntu offers a look and feel familiar enough for any mildly savvy user to get comfortable with, but not familiar enough outcompete Windows with mainstream users. Chrome OS, which will use a new windowing environment with the Chrome browser as its main interface, won't compete with Windows on familiarity. Instead, it will focus on two things Windows still lags in that are critical to success on small-form devices: simplicity and cloud connectivity. Once again, Google is attacking Microsoft at its weak points.

In bringing Chrome OS to market, Google has taken on some powerful partners. Intel, HP, Lenovo, Toshiba, Acer, Qualcomm, Freescale, and Adobe are all on board. This is about as close as you can get to a netbook-building dream team. As the hardware makers in this group vie to differentiate their Chrome OS devices, consumers are bound to get a wealth of interesting options. The strong will survive, the weak will go back to the drawing board, and Chrome will likely evolve--just as Android has--into a compelling platform all its own.

Living In the Cloud

Chrome OS will be a cloud-based environment, depending on access to online services. Most notably Chrome OS will support Google's own services, though the early announcements have included a call for broad development of third-party Web-based apps for Chrome OS devices.

Android devices have already shown the power of this model. I personally own a Motorola Droid handset, and use Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, and other related services for most of my work. In fact, switching to Android has quickly strengthened my dependence on Google services, as it has allowed me to do more work from wherever I happen to be standing. Like most Android users I know, I'm increasingly open to the idea of a larger device that offers the same seamless support for cloud computing and lets me get more done.

Of course, living in the cloud does come with drawbacks. The biggest problem, of course, is what to do when the cloud is down. Over the past year, we've seen numerous outages for Gmail, and each one has been greeted by an uproar from users whose lives and work are disrupted by the service failures. Fortunately for users, these outages have consistently been brief, and have not tended to disrupt access via IMAP. And for those who work offline through Google Gears, access to existing e-mail, documents, and calendar items remains constant even when the servers go down.

Community Action

Whether a Chrome OS beta rolls out this week, next week, next month, or next year, its success will depend heavily on the vast community of sophisticated users and developers who have helped to create such a staggering array of Linux distributions from the kernel up over the last 18 years. Google's name and industry clout can only take a new OS so far.

Fortunately for Google, the company has spent years cultivating relationships throughout the open source community. So it should quickly find a large base of experienced testers willing to download this beta the instant it hits the Web.

It's encouraging to bear in mind that, for most Linux users, the expectation from beta software is generally tempered by a reasonable expectation of finding--and more importantly, reporting--bugs. This deeply engrained practice within the Linux community sets the stage for a productive beta test for Google, while ensuring that those most likely to run the beta are unlikely to be deterred by a normal round of bug fixes before launch.

Plenty of Other Fish

It may be tempting to think that Chrome OS could spell an end to other, less widely supported distributions of Linux, but I think such concerns are ill founded. The Linux world is based on nothing so much as a deep desire for diversity and choice in computing. It's no accident that there are hundreds of distributions available, and the introduction of a successful new leader will only serve to expand opportunities for other distributions. This is just the way things work with open source.

For the last several years, Ubuntu has managed to steal most of the limelight from other consumer distros, while workhorses like Red Hat and SUSE have continued trucking along in the business market. But for the Linux enthusiast, any new distro is good news and an opportunity to play, learn, and explore.

The advantage of having a major name in the game is that it attracts more users and developers to the platform. Google is no exception. Even a Microsoft Linux (as long as it complied with the GPL) would be good for the open source community. Companies like these bring big partnerships to the table, as Google has already managed to do for Chrome OS. And in return, according to the terms of the GPL, these companies must make a significant portion of their own code available to the open source community. In this scenario, everyone wins.

Waiting On Google

For now, of course, there is no Chrome OS to speak of. Google has yet to offer so much as a preview of the OS, and stories of prerelease downloads have proven bogus. Until we see an actual announcement from Google, almost everything we can say about this OS is speculation based on scant information.

What is certain, however, is that when the beta does launch, it will put a serious toll on Google's servers.

Britney Spears frolics aboard a luxury yacht as she escapes Australian tour controversy

Looking tanned and toned, it seems as though Britney Spears may have finally put her turbulent weight-gain years behind her.

Wearing a tiny green bikini, the singer showed off her curves - and her tattoos - as she spent Saturday relaxing on board a yacht in Sydney Harbour.

Britney, 27, was posing on millionaire media owner Paul Ramsay's boat, Oscar, as she marked the halfway mark on her first Australian tour.

It was clear to see that her arduous training and workout routines have paid off as she boasted a trimmer figure.

Snapped eating sandwiches and salad and drinking Vitamin Water, Britney was relaxing with her sons Sean Preston, four, and Jayden James, three, and her manager boyfriend Jason Trawick.

However, she has been at the centre of controversy after it was revealed that the Gimme More singer mimed on stage during her tour.

Politicians and musicians have waded into the row, which caused some angry fans to storm out of her gigs.

Jolin Tsai Voted Asia’s Sexiest Female Singer

A recent poll conducted by Taiwanese online music store KKBOX, which asked “Who in your mind is the number one sexiest female singer in all of Asia?”, listed Jolin Tsai at the top with 3,287 votes. Topping out the rest of the top five were Japanese singer Namie Amuro, Taiwanese singer Elva Hsiao, Japanese singer Kumi Koda, and Korean singer Hyori Lee.

Jolin was currently overseas when reached by phone through her managing company. While she stated that she was in Canada, her whereabouts for the next ten days were kept a secret, and that she’s living a life in a foreign country where “no one recognizes her”. While on the phone, Jolin expressed, “I’m happy. I’m not being filmed, and no one recognizes me.” But she has been known to be a ditz, cooking sweet noodles that are supposed to be salty, lacking any concept of numbers and money, and violating traffic laws while driving.

So how will she take care of herself in a foreign country? Her agent stated that Jolin will call on her friends living in various countries, and that she can still find people to join her to eat, watch movies, and enjoy a less hectic life. She’s also using her current activities to inspire her for her new album next year. Although she plans on returning back to Taiwan, she still hasn’t bought her return trip tickets.

Microsoft search share continues its slow upward crawl

The October comScore numbers are in and Microsoft has inched upward for another month with its Bing search engine.

In October, Bing reached 9.9 percent, in terms of percentage share of U.S. searches. Bing hit 9.4 percent in September, comScore’s data indicates.

Bing’s growth came at Yahoo’s — not Google’s — expense, however. According to comScore, Yahoo was down to 18.0 percent share in October, from 18.8 percent in September. Meanwhile, Google’s U.S. search share rose to 65.4 in October, from 64.9 in September, based on comScore’s data.

In October, Microsoft began rolling out a number of enhancements to Bing, culminating in a bigger “2.0″ fall refresh last week.

If Microsoft’s search game plan is built on the idea of growing share substantially by combining forces with Yahoo, Yahoo’s continuing share loss is looking less and less likely to shore up that plan.

British 'Couples Retreat' Posters Leave Out Black Couple

If you live in Britain, you won't see Faizon Love and Kali Hawk on the movie posters for 'Couples Retreat,' like you would in America.

The pair -- who are both black -- has been left off the promotional photo in the U.K., while the rest of the white actors remain.

According to The Daily Mail, Universal -- the studio behind the film -- claims they wanted to "simplify" the posters for the English audience. However, they apologized for offending anyone.

4 of Korea’s Top Stars at the Tokyo Dome

Back in July, the boys of TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki rocked the Tokyo Dome. In September, Bae Yong Joon (Yon-Sama) also had a huge event at the Tokyo Dome. As Christmas approaches, there will be a special present for the Japanese fans as you'll see four of Korea's top actors at the Tokyo Dome in December.

On December 17th, Top Korean stars Lee Byung Hun, Song Seung Hun, Won Bin, and Jang Dong Gun will gather together at the Tokyo Dome for a special Hallyu event titled 'Hallyu's Four of A Kind.' The four actors are experiencing their popularity rising in Japan and the tickets despite the high prices (upwards of $175) are going to be a hot commodity. Most people think that any one of the stars could sell out the Tokyo Dome but to have all four at one place would basically make it assured. In fact, the demand seems to be so high that they will hold two events on December 17th, one at 12:30 PM and the other at 6:30 PM. The First Lady of Japan, Miyuki is also said to be an avid Hallyu fan and will most likely be in attendance. Tickets for the event will go on sale November 28th.

The four stars recently gathered in Seoul for a photo shoot:

Office 2010 beta available for developers

As widely expected, Microsoft has begun rolling out the public beta of its Office 2010 suite this week.

On November 16, Microsoft made the beta code available to subscribers to its MSDN and TechNet services. Microsoft is expected to open up the beta, so that anyone who’d like to try it can download it — possibly this week (though Microsoft officials refused to confirm that when I asked them today).

Microsoft also has made the 64-bit Beta version of Office Web Apps — its Web-centric versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote — available for download to MSDN and TechNet subscribers today. (No word yet if/when the 32-bit version of Office Web Apps will appear on MSDN/TechNet). The public also is expected to get the refreshed Office Web Apps bits, possibly this week. Again, Microsoft officials won’t confirm the public availability date, beyond saying it will be “in November.”

Microsoft has set up a download page from which the public will be able to download the Beta bits. On that page, Microsoft lists as the versions it will make available the Office Home and Business 2010; Office Professional 2010 and Office Professional Plus 2010 versions of the product.

Among the noticeable changes between the beta and the Community Technology Preview (CTP) build of Office 2010 that Microsoft released this summer are the new installation procedures for the beta build, a new Upload Center, modifications to the Backstage view; and new icons for all the Office products that are part of the suite, according to a post on the Redmond Pie blog.

Last week, a build of Office 2010 build that was marked “Beta 2″ leaked to the Web. That build was number 14.0.4514.1009. Microsoft officials told me that the leaked build was not the same one as would be released later this month.

Many Microsoft watchers are expecting the company to make the public beta bits available on November 18, as that is the day that one of Microsoft’s Office big-wigs, Senior Vice President Kurt DelBene, is keynoting the Microsoft Professional Developers Conference in Los Angeles. Given that Microsoft often releases bits to MSDN and TechNet subscribers anywhere from a couple of days to a week-plus before it makes them available to the public, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the public Office 2010 and Office Web Apps Beta 2s to go live this week.

Microsoft is expected to launch the final version of Office 2010 client, Office Web Apps and SharePoint Server 2010 in May/June 2010.

I’d like to hear what folks think of the Beta once they’ve had a chance to download and try out the client and Office Web Apps versions both. What is new and different?

Chris Brown Isn't Ready to Date – Yet

Chris Brown says he isn't quite ready to get back into the dating scene.

"I've been kinda chillin'," he tells MTV News. "I mean, I'm Chris Brown. I'm not saying it like that, but it's just, like, girls are gonna be around. I love women. But I would say I've just been chillin'. I haven't really been trying to get into a relationship or trying to date anybody. I've just kinda been working on me. Like I said, just really getting me straight."

After recent interviews in which Rihanna, 21, has described the assault, Brown maintains that, while he respects her right to speak out, he wishes she'd kept the matter private.

Though the couple reunited briefly after the incident, they've been ordered by a court to maintain their distance for five years.

Lee Hyori’s funbags are scientifically perfect?

We all know Lee Hyori is a sexy beast and an actual fashionista (unlike a certain blonde male). Of course, with a body like hers, it's almost impossible NOT to look good, but everyone wants to know, what's the secret?

The real heroes of South Korea came to the rescue to help answer the question... none other than plastic surgeons!

Surgeon Park Wonjin said, "Lee Hyori is the fashionista celebrity with the hottest body."

Wow... what an amazing observation!

He also said, "Her beautiful chest, amazing waist line, and her narrow body gives Lee Hyori a big advantage. Anything she wears looks good on her. Girls come into the hospital all the time saying that they want to have a chest line like Lee Hyori's. She always has this confident appeal. Rather than being simply sexy, she also has a friendly image that attracts all guys. With everything from her amazing chest to her friendly personality, she easily takes the spot of a cultural icon."

But it's not just her body that's getting so scientifically analyzed. Her fashion sense has been raised on the pedestal of obviousness as well.

An official from the fashion industry stated, "Lee Hyori has the most beautiful breasts of all celebrities which gives her a sense of great fashion. The perfect body has proportional dimensions of the chest and waist line. These proportions increase the stylishness of apparel because the body accents the designs and patterns on the clothes. Lee Hyori's body is perfect for clothes."

In fact, Lee Hyori has a few stores that sell clothes she designs. "Lee Hyori has a great impact on the fashion industry. Her products are worn by many women and are almost always immediately recognized as a fashion statement and sales increase rapidly," said another official.

Whew, with all these amazing scientific facts, who questions now (or maybe a better question would be, who questioned before) that Lee Hyori is the hottest celebrity south of the 38th Parallel?

Stay tuned to allkpop for Lee Hyori's album release in 2010!

Nokia N900 - Quick Hands On & Impressions

Whilst at Nokia World, I was very fortunate to get some hands on with the newly announced Nokia N900 Maemo device. Now, its difficult to really write up a review of this device only having spent such little time with it, but what I can do is give you my initial thoughts on the device, and my opinion on its build, and OS.

The N900 is a little chubby device, being a little shorter than the N97, and also being a little thicker, not to mention feeling somewhat heavier too than the N97, however, considering what this little chubby device packs in the way of functions, and features, it’s a small price to pay to have desktop usability in your pocket.

The Maemo Operating System took a little getting used to, and I found myself getting lost within the vast menu infrastructures, but once finding my way around, everything started to make sense, and please. This device is one hell of a beast, being able to multitask like water off a ducks back, effortlessly running several web pages simultaneously in minimized, thumbnail form, there at your disposal, ready to be launched into full screen. These web pages are always live too, not just a small version of a static website page, but live feed, it’s really impressive in this area. Now whilst all these various web pages are running, you can carry on working with the device, and not notice any performance lag whatsoever. I was able to play music, view and take photos, write notes, and launch various apps on the device all at the same time. Amazing.

The build quality of the N900 is also as impressive, boasting what I would say, E-Series type build quality, the slide is firm, and positive, opening and closing without any wobble, or feeling of weakness. The main camera cover is equally as impressive too, with the actual camera glass recessed, so no risk of scratching like the N97’s camera glass. The N900 has an inbuilt stand similar to that found on the N96, but in the N900’s case, is wider, but equally as thimble in my personal opinion.

The keyboard is very easy to use, and whilst testing a few sentences, found myself not making a single typing error, it’s to me, far better than the keyboard on the N97, as on the N900, the keys have a more positive feel, and response when pressed. The spacebar is positioned similar to the N97, to the lower right, but I personally don’t have a problem with this, and actually find it in a more natural position for when typing with my thumbs.

One thing I will say however, is that the N900 is a fingerprint magnet, and found myself having to wipe it clean every now and again in between photos of the device. Taking the N900 outside to see how visibility of the screen would be in sunlight, it was quite difficult to see, but not impossible, at the right angle, you could still work with the device. It was nowhere near as bad as viewing an OLED in sunlight for sure.

Holding the device in the landscape position is at this time, the only position this device, and its software can be used. Although I tried, there is no way to text, or use any of its inbuilt applications in portrait mode. Only call related software operates in portrait. Don’t let this put you off though, as software and applications from third party sources can be programmed to take advantage of portrait viewing, and usability.

Back to the device, and holding it in the landscape position, on the bottom of the N900, there is nothing, apart from to the lower right where the stylus is positioned.

On the left hand side of the device there MicroUSB is positioned, along with one of the two stereo speakers, which I must add sounded great.

Moving to the top of the N900, you have the power button located in the central position of the top, with the volume, and zoom rocker key to the left hand side, and to the right hand side, the main camera capture key. To the immediate right of the camera capture key, there is something what to me looks like an Infrared panel, but don’t quote me on this.

Moving to the right hand side of the N900, you will find the second stereo speaker, the screen lock spring loaded switch, and the 3.5mm TV Out, and Headset jack.

The N900 is not intended to be a mass market device, so please bare this in mind if you are considering investing in one. I personally will be buying one, but again, its all down to personal reference, and what you are looking in a device. The N900, to me is what the N97 should have been, being able to effortlessly multitask is the one thing I really need in a device, and can do without the random closing of applications such as the N97 does when running out of RAM. No chance of this happening on the N900 for sure.

Check out the specifications, and photos below, and decide for yourself if the N900 is for you or not.

Gossip Girl Blake Lively turns heads in plunging neckline at screening of new film

Blake Lively will surely have no trouble convincing cinema goers to part with their cash after turning heads at a screening of her new film.

The blonde showcased her best asset - her figure - in a pair of shorts and plunging neckline to celebrate movie The Private Lives of Pippa Lee.

Sporting a structured white blazer, the revealing outfit will also surely confirm her fashionista status after she was approached by Victoria Beckham to model her next collection of dresses.

The Gossip Girl actress was joined on the red carpet by co-stars Robin Wright Penn and Julianne Moore.

The Private Lives Of Pippa Lee was first screened at the Berlin International Film Festival in February and was well received by critics.

It had a limited run in British cinemas in July, taking £108,160 in the box office.

The film is released on DVD in the UK on November 2 and has a limited run in US cinemas from November 27.

Carina Lau skipping Golden Horse awards because of Maggie Cheung?

Hong Kong actress Carina Lau is reportedly skipping this year's Golden Horse Film Awards in Taiwan because of rumoured love rival Maggie Cheung.

Five-time Golden Horse award winning actress Cheung has agreed to be a presenter at the November 28 award show, her first appearance in nine years. The awards is seen as the Chinese-language "Oscars".

Shortly after the news made headlines, Lau who was invited to represent husband, actor Tony Leung, at the film festival's executive committee meeting, declined the invitation, citing work commitments as an excuse.

Leung, 47, is unable to attend the prestigious event as he is busy filming martial arts movie "The Grand Master", which is scheduled to be released next year, while Lau, 43, is involved in Chinese film "Let The Bullets Fly".

Lau's manager has played down the matter, saying, "Things are fine between Carina and Maggie. Carina would very much like to attend the meeting but the crew refuse to let her go. She is still trying to fight for it."

The long-running feud between love rivals Lau and Cheung, 45, over Leung is no secret and a rendezvous between Leung and Cheung in August this year has reignited rumours of the love triangle.

New XPERIA X10 hands-on video brings the snappy

Sony Ericsson's Android-based XPERIA X10 was mighty sluggish when we played with it at the launch a couple weeks ago, but this new video from hdblog.it shows what looks like a much newer software build that's dramatically faster and more responsive. There's nothing much new here in terms of features, but just the fact that the X10 is in the wild and running well is encouraging -- especially since we're really digging that media playback interface. Now all we need is some Stateside shipping details and we'll be all set. Video after the break.

'Spider-Man 4': Rachel McAdams shoots down casting rumor

Late last week, reports spread across dozens of Internet sites claiming that actress Rachel McAdams has been cast to play a villain named the Black Cat in the fourth installment of the Spider-Man franchise. If your spider senses got all tingly at the idea — well, sorry, but according to McAdams, it’s simply untrue. “That’s a total rumor, I have to say,” the actress, who will next be seen in the Dec. 25 action-adventure tentpole Sherlock Holmes, tells EW. “I was hanging out in Toronto the other day and someone came up to me and said, ‘I just heard you’re doing Spider-Man 4.‘ And I said, ‘Really? No one told me!’ It’s not true.” A rep for Sony Pictures concurs: “It’s an Internet rumor, as so many things are these days.”

Ella Enjoys Swing Ride of 8-Storey High, Selina and Hebe Ends Up with Wobbly Legs

Ella is well-known as “Gutsy Chen” in S.H.E. Sometime back when she was in Singapore, she took on the 8-storey and 10-storey high Horizontal and Reverse G-MAX GX-5 Xtreme Bungy rides respectively, to challenge her own limits. Meanwhile Selina and Hebe looked on by the side with wobbly legs.

Shortly after her meal, Ella suddenly suggested playing the bungy and adopted an “order of gradually upping the limit” strategy to challenge herself. First she played the Horizontal Bungy which would just oscillate and not flip in the air. She was only strapped to the G-MAX chair by the safety cord, without any handles to grip and nowhere to support her legs when she was elevated off the ground. Upon being raised to a height equivalent of an 8-storey building prior to the free fall, Ella’s body was almost 90 degrees perpendicular to the ground. She admitted to feeling a little panic then but she dared not shout and thus, carried on to play. “Actually I was scared and closed my eyes then, as I dared not look down.”

Having successfully returned to the ground safely after the Horizontal Bungy, her playfulness actually grew and now she chirped about playing the extreme Reverse Bungy next. Ella said, “Now I am psychologically prepared. I will sing ‘Bu Xiang Zhang Da’ (Don’t wish to grow up), when I sang the word ‘Da’, then you guys shall propel me up into the sky.” Indeed when Ella sang the word ‘Da’, both herself and her voice rose to soar high and even somersaulted a few rounds into the sky. Selina and Hebe only dared to watch Ella through the camera lens by the side, while Selina kept exclaiming, “If I were to sit on that, I would probably already moved on into my next life already.”

Samsung unveils Android-equipped Galaxy Spica i5700

The long-rumored little brother to the Galaxy, the i5700, has finally been made official by Samsung -- and sure enough, it'll go by the trade name "Galaxy Spica." Sammy's latest Android-powered set clocks in at 13.2mm thick and comes equipped with a 3.5mm jack (which, frankly, every smartphone in the world should be including at this point), an 800MHz core (presumably the same as the Moment's), and an Android first: built-in DivX support. This one appears to be a no-frills Google Experience device considering the number of times that "Google" is mentioned in Samsung's press release, but for some Android connoisseurs, the purest, unskinned look and feel is preferred. Sammy says it's already out in Europe and the CIS and will be coming to the Middle East and Asia shortly.

Sandara Park Blames Lee Hyori For Her Short Height

If you didn’t know yet, Family Outing recently welcomed two idol stars as guest family members with 2NE1’s Sandara Park and After School’s UEE.

During the highly-anticipated episode, Sandara Park revealed that Lee Hyori was partly the reason for her short height and she also revealed her shocking weight.

Sandara said, “The reason why I’m so short is because of Hyori unnie. During my teenage years, I was such a huge fan of Hyori unnie. I brought a lot of heavy melons from the Philippines to Korea after watching unnie eating melons so deliciously on tv.”

She continued, “After I attended a Fin.K.L concert in Korea, I waited in front of Hyori unnie’s house and asked your mother to pass the melons to you. In return, I received an autograph from you and happily went back home.”

By the time Sandara finished, she was about to tear and this touched Hyori. She tried to lighten up the mood with a hilarious remark, “Yeah, there were a lot of those kids.”

Lee Hyori then asked the 2NE1 member what her actual weight was, and being her usual 4D self, Sandara Park confessed truthfully, “I’m actually 40kg (88.2lbs)” holy crap!

Stay tuned for more of Dara and UEE on the next episode of Family Outing.

Facebook finally comes to webOS, not with a bang but a whimper

Just in time for the Pixi's grand debut, webOS devices (that's just Pixi and Pre) now have their first official Facebook app, joining the ranks of iPhone and Android... and we're sad to report that it's about as barebones as they can get. It pulls from the raw live stream, seemingly unfiltered -- even if you said "no" to Farmville updates on your main feed, they'll show up here. Clicking a YouTube link brings you to the YouTube app, clicking links go to browser. You can update your status or upload a photo, but that's about it. You can't seem to search Facebook for any info, view events, or anything else, and clicking on someone's name or photo brings up their contact info. And that's about it -- can someone give Joe Hewitt a ring? Still, it's better than nothing. WebOS 1.3.1 is required, not that you had any reason to hold off upgrading.
