Lindsay Lohan caught on camera 'injecting heroin'

Lindsay Lohan has been caught on camera apparently injecting what appears to be heroin into her arm.

The troubled 24-year-old is photographed wrapping what looks like a tourniquet around her arm before using a syringe to 'inject herself' with a substance into her left arm.

The photographs, printed in the News Of The World, come just hours after Lohan was released from jail after just 14 hours behind bars following the posting of £190,000 bail.

A source told the newspaper: 'These images of her with the syringe are terrifying. What no one knows for certain is just how often Lindsay does drugs - or exactly which drugs she does.

'Lindsay has made no secret of her drug addiction. People are used to seeing her off her head.'

Other photographs, apparently taken at a Hollywood party believed to have been held in 2007, show Lohan partying with socialite Paris Hilton, passionately kissing and cuddling her.

The actress was brought before a judge earlier this week after failing two drug tests this month. One was for cocaine and the other was for Adderall - a drug taken for ADHD.

HTC Mondrian stars in unfinished AT&T ad campaign, jump-kicks lesser smartphones? (video)

Would you believe that after months of leaks, this is the first time we've allegedly seen the HTC Mondrian? It's true -- though from this angle, it's a dead ringer for the Mozart, which looks just like the Shubert, too. The above picture comes from a pair of totally believable but obviously incomplete ads for AT&T's Windows Phone 7 push, which if real make the Mondrian look like it might be a flagship device; perhaps those rumors of a 1.3GHz Snapdragon inside weren't too far off. You won't find real phones demonstrated in the videos after the break, but don't let that stop you from clicking through -- you do like watching oblivious folks flying through the air, don't you?

New iPad Design Could Bring a Landscape Dock Port And Smart Bezel Feature

Patently Apple has found new iPad design patents from China that show an extra 30-pin dock connector port that'll allow for landscape docking and a mysterious feature which may be Apple's "Smart Bezel Feature".

If this new design is real, it makes some sense (at least, more sense than a 7-inch iPad). Having the option to dock the iPad in landscape mode would double the convenience for iPad owners who, well, frequently dock their iPad.

Lindsay Lohan Plans to Return to Rehab

Although she relapsed just weeks after checking out of UCLA inpatient rehab on Aug. 24, Lindsay Lohan is serious about her recovery, a source close to the actress says.

"She will step up her treatment and do more than what she was previously ordered to do," says the source, adding that Lohan, 24, plans to voluntarily check herself back into rehab in the coming days.

The actress was released from a Lynwood, Calif., jail late Friday night after winning an appeal to be granted bail following a failed drug test.

For now, Lohan has been ordered to wear a SCRAM alcohol-monitoring bracelet and must avoid places "where alcohol is the chief item of sale."

She faces a probation violation hearing on Oct. 22, where she could potentially face more jail time for the positive drug test in her ongoing DUI case.

Ping Now Works With Your Actual iTunes Library. This Is A Thousand Times Better

It launched with much fanfare, but I don’t think it was unreasonable to call Ping a dud out of the gate. While pretty much everyone initially signed up to try it out, a few days later, the activity stream seemed to trickle to almost nothing. And there was a good reason for that: Apple’s social network for music made it very hard to share stuff — you know, be social. But an update today makes it at least a thousand times better.

iTunes 10.0.1 released this morning brings some big Ping updates with it. Most notably, you can now use Ping with your own iTunes library. Previously, you could only share songs on Ping through the iTunes Store — a big difference. This basically meant that even if you already owned a song, you had to hunt it down in the iTunes Store to share it. This was almost laughably tedious, and it ensured that no one would use Ping for more than a couple days.

Katy Perry to guest star on 'The Simpsons'! Here's your exclusive first look...

It looks like Katy Perry will get to sing with a puppet on TV after all. Although Sesame Street has decided that Perry’s “Hot N Cold” duet with Elmo is too hot for TV, The Simpsons is rolling out the yellow carpet for the pop star. EW.com has learned that Perry will guest in a Christmas-themed episode of the animated comedy—and in an unusual way: She appears as herself in a live-action segment that features Simpsons characters as puppets. “In the wake of Elmo’s terrible betrayal, the Simpsons puppets wish to announce they stand felt-shoulder-to-shoulder with Katy Perry,” quipped series executive producer Al Jean in a statement to EW.com. Not only does the singer wind up leading Homer & Co. in a rendition of “The 39 Days of Christmas,” she plays the unlikely role of… Moe’s girlfriend! Yes, from Elmo to Moe she goes. (And as you can see in the picture above, her sartorial selection for this gig probably wouldn’t have been Street-approved either: The PBS show announced on Sept. 23 that it wouldn’t air Perry’s performance after previewing it on YouTube and receiving complaints about her cleavage-revealing outfit. By the way, her Simpsons bit was shot in mid-September, prior to the fuss.) Perry, the musical guest on Saturday Night Live tonight, won’t be the only celebrity gracing this Simpsons episode; Martha Stewart also pops up, but in cartoon form. “The Fight Before Christmas” airs Dec. 5 on Fox.

Verizon Wireless Motorola DROID R2D2 launch: Stormtroopers, giveaways, and more

Star Wars fan? Android fan? Verizon Wireless customer? September 29th at midnight should go down in history for you then. Not only is that when Motorola’s DROID R2D2 limited edition device goes on sale at select Verizon Wireless stores across the country, but it’s also looking to be quite an event. We have been just sent a couple images from one of the participating stores, a store called Vista Ridge in Lewisville, Texas, and we also have some info on what is exactly is happening for the launch — it’s pretty crazy. Apparently, the participating stores will be giving away 5 Motorola R2D2 units, there will be actual “Stormtroopers” at the store (employees dressed up as Stormtroopers), video gaming, a live DJ and more. Stores are getting approximately 200 units and stock will not be replenished. Last bit of info… our tipster said that Motorola reps have indicated the Star Wars edition device is actually running a 1.2GHz CPU, not a 1GHz. Pretty interesting, huh? Our only wish? That the keyboard on the handset was white.

Let’s hear it — anyone gearing up to get one of these things on Tuesday evening?

One more photo after the break!

Is the future PC a smartphone?

Will small, powerful, connected-to-everything devices running on non-Intel silicon become the personal computer? The CEO of graphics-chip supplier Nvidia thinks so.

The sentiment, voiced at the company's annual conference this week by chief executive Jen-Hsun Huang, has been expressed before. And like any strong strategy statement from a Silicon Valley CEO, it's self-serving. Nvidia is staking a good chunk of its future--as much as half of its business--on chips based on the ARM design.

But that doesn't mean Huang has got it all wrong, either. Indeed, ARM-based devices such as Apple's iPhone and iPad, Motorola's Droid, RIM's Blackberry, and countless future smartphones and tablets from Motorola, RIM, Apple, and others will use the ARM chip design. "ARM is the fastest-growing CPU (processor) in the world today. It's the instruction set architecture of choice of mobile computing," Huang said. "It is very clear now that mobile computing will be a completely disruptive force to all of computing."

Jay Chou's 8 night Hong Kong concert ends, A-Mei Chang is surprise guest at the end

Taiwanese artist Jay Chou's "2010 Hong Kong The Era Concert" ended smoothly yesterday night (24th). The 8 nights attracted over 80,000 fans, he even invited heavenly queen A-Mei Chang to be the special guest for the last night. Her appearance raised the concert to climax!

Jay Chou held 8 nights for his concert in Hong Kong this time. Not only was it a challenge on his body, the sales of the tickets also set new records for the most expensive tickets for the Hong Kong Coliseum. It was as high as HK$880, equivalent to TW$3,600. Every night was a full house, and tickets were rare to come by; it just shows the charm of the heavenly king.

'Wall Street 2' trades up over other new releases on Friday

Moviegoers are buying Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps this weekend. The Oliver Stone film revisiting Gordon Gekko and his relationship with cash is scoring with audiences, grossing around $7 million on Friday for what should be a first place finish in the low $20 million range. The lure of Michael Douglas and Shia LaBeouf seems to be drawing in audiences young and old.

The same can not be said for this frame’s other releases. Zack Snyder’s spooky owl movie Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole earned less than $5 million on Friday for a weekend take that may only reach $17 million. It will be competing with The Town for second place. Ben Affleck’s Boston-based caper flick is holding in remarkably well, also grossing around $5 million on Friday for what could be another $17 million for the movie that opened last weekend to $24 million.

Emma Stone’s Easy A has also held remarkably well. The film dropped in the 40 percent range its second Friday in theaters for just under $4 million. That number could translate into another $10 million for the movie that cost less than that to make. And fifth place will likely go to the third new release of the weekend, You Again starring Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Sigourney Weaver. The PG-13 rated comedy earned around $3 million on Friday night for a weekend that should add up to $8 million.

Come back tomorrow for full results.

Contrary to what some musicians think, we don't find Taylor Swift to be horrible at all.

EU plans to end Apple antitrust investigation in light of relaxed iPhone rules

It seems like Apple's legal team is constantly embroiled in a pitched battle of some sort, but this weekend they might get to relax -- citing recent iPhone policy changes, the European Commission's decided to stop breathing down their necks. Though the EU originally joined the US Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission in investigating why Cupertino chose to block third-party dev tools and ads earlier this year, the fact that Apple recently relaxed both restrictions (and created a repair program for iPhones purchased abroad) satisfied European regulators. "The Commission intends to close the investigations into these matters," it wrote earlier today. There's no guarantee that the US powers-that-be will exercise similar leniency, of course, but we wouldn't be surprised -- even inside Apple, the DoJ's got other fish to fry.

Kristen Bell Says She'd Finance 'Veronica Mars' Movie

Some dreams die hard. Kristen Bell opened up at this week's L.A. premiere for her new feature 'You Again,' (co-starring Sigourney Weaver, Jamie Lee Curtis and Betty White) all about the 2004-'07 television role that made her a star -- and just how badly she wants to revive her beloved Veronica Mars character on the big screen.

While she insists that she "absolutely would" pony up the funds to get the project rolling, she says her hands are tied because Warner Bros. studio owns the rights to the UPN teen detective series (which moved to The CW for its last season).

"My duty, because I wanted this movie made from the minute our show got canceled, is to (A) do it before I'm 40, and (B) to prove to Warner Bros. that there is an audience," she told The Hollywood Reporter.

Bell, 30, pointed out the project's unique foundation of support, saying, "You already have 3 million who watched it every week -- hardcore fans that will see it -- you can only build from there." (Devoted viewers famously mailed thousands of Mars Bars to The CW offices in a failed effort to persuade the network not to cancel 'Veronica Mars.')

Chris Noth Declares “Sex And The City” Dead

Mr. Big has declared the Sex And The City franchise D.O.A. after the second box office outing for four of Manhattan’s Most Stylish Gals on Stilettos opened to disappointing numbers and even worse reviews last May.

According to Chris Noth — who played the ying to Carrie’s yang aka Mr. Big during the show’s run on HBO — lost his cool when asked about the future of SATC during during the premiere of Jack Goes Boating this week. The Law & Order alum ripped the media — most notably the no-holds-barred New York Magazine — for bashing Sex And The City 2 and destroying any chance of extending the franchise’s film library to a trilogy.

“It’s over. The franchise is dead. The press killed it. Your magazine fucking killed it. New York Magazine. It’s like all the critics got together and said, ‘This franchise must die.’ Because they all had the exact same review. It’s like they didn’t see the movie. Got any more gum?”

Would anyone like to see Sex resurrected?
