Lindsay Lohan Denied Phone, Twitter Access in Rehab

The reason you haven't seen many tweets from Lindsay Lohan is because she's not allowed on Twitter.

According to a source, the actress "only allowed to use her phone for two hours a day, and only to keep in touch with family and close friends" while she's in the Betty Ford Clinic, The New York Post reports.

"Before, she would repeatedly and compulsively e-mail her friends if she was ever in a situation where she felt lonely, and she would vent on Twitter," the source continued.

It's typical Betty Ford policy for all patients, thus the troubled starlet to can "concentrate on herself," the insider explained.

Lindsay is back in rehab after failing two court-appointed drug tests. Earlier this summer, Lohan spent 13 days in jail and three weeks in a treatment facility when she violated her probation stemming from a 2007 DUI arrest.

Samsung Galaxy Tab launching November 14th on Sprint for $399?

Sprint’s version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab will apparently be priced at $399 with a new, two-year agreement, while the contract-free SKU will be $599 from the carrier. That’s the word from the BGR‘s source inside Sprint, who also tips a November 14th 2010 launch date for the 7-inch Froyo slate.

It’s still unclear what sort of data package Sprint may be mandating for the Galaxy Tab, however, so the monthly bill is still a mystery. According to Samsung, the US versions of the Galaxy Tab will have both front and rear cameras as the European model does, but will only be able to make video calls over WiFi connections.

Verizon CEO: Microsoft is not a major player in mobile

Verizon has already confirmed it won’t be bothering with Windows Phone 7 until sometime in 2011; now the carrier’s CEO has dismissed the new Microsoft smartphone platform from contention as a key player. Asked by CNET whether Verizon saw Microsoft as a major player in mobile, Lowell McAdam said no, and admitted that “Microsoft is not at the forefront of our mind.”

“I can’t really say which phones we’ll offer yet. We like our relationship with Microsoft. But clearly in the U.S. there are three major mobile operating systems: RIM, Google, and Apple.” Lowell McAdam, CEO, Verizon Communications

CNET followed up by asking whether this apparent antipathy had something to do with the recent KIN debacle, a point which McAdam would not quite be drawn on. Instead, he blamed the general pace of the mobile industry overall.

“Our device suppliers have to demonstrate to us that they will be developing leading edge products. And if they are not leading edge, then we can’t afford to carry them in our stores. But if they are innovative, we’ll offer them.”

Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 starts shipping its outdated self around the world

We're not going to make any apologies. So long as Sony Ericsson continues to pretend like Android 2.x doesn't exist and keeps kicking out new devices running Android 1.6, we'll keep docking it points like the meanest of Russian judges. The 3-inch X8 is set to be Sony Ericsson's most affordable Android handset -- we were told it'll cost south of $300 unlocked -- to date, but then you get your money's worth with a 600MHz processing core and a 3.2 megapixel fixed focus camera. Oh, even better news is that the X8 will get updated to Android 2.1 "a little later" than SE's X10 line. If you want to avoid all this Android upgrade drama (and save a few more pennies), Sony Ericsson is also starting to ship out its no-frills Cedar candybar as well -- perfect if you just want your phone to act like a phone and little more.

Andy Lau: Next Daddy to be in HK

After several attempts, Andy Lau’s forty-four year-old wife, Carol Choo, is rumoured to be three months pregnant. Hong Kong media are reporting that more than a month ago, Carol Choo was spotted visiting a gynecologist’s in St Paul’s Hospital, while accompanied by her assistant and bodyguards. Moreover, she was recently seen shopping around in Causeway Bay along with a female friend, dressed in a loose shirt and appearing fuller in her face and belly.

Andy Lau’s management company has yet to confirm the rumours. When Andy was questioned about the pregnancy at the movie premiere ofDetective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame "狄仁傑之通天帝國", he neither confrimed or denied the rumous and merely smiled and said, “Be good now and don’t ask.” Andy Lau’s family and friends have not said anything regarding the rumours. Some time ago, Carol Choo was seen praying at Snake Temple in Malaysia, apparently wishing for a child. Andy had previously revealed that he and his wife have been trying for a child for quite some time. He even bought a new house to let his wife relax and rest out of the limelight, as well as a car for her.

Microsoft buying Adobe? Call me highly skeptical

The New York Times is reporting that the CEOs of Microsoft and Adobe recently met. Supposedly on their agenda: Apple.

I get that. That two of the vendors who’ve had problems getting their interactive media technologies approved for use on the iPad and the iPhone are chatting seems possible, if not probable. A Flash-on-Windows Phone 7 discussion? I could see it. Possible complaints to legal authorities launched in tandem? Sure, another plausible coffee-klatch topic….

But now I’m seeing folks leap to the conclusion that Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer met with Adobe’s CEO Shantanu Narayen to talk about Microsoft buying Adobe (based on a mention that such an idea was on the Ballmer-Narayen “let’s team to beat Apple” agenda. There’s this paragraph in the New York Times’ report:

“Another person with knowledge of past talks between the two companies explained that Microsoft has courted Adobe several years ago with possible acquisition discussions. But the deal never moved past informal talks as Microsoft feared that United States Department of Justice would likely block the deal on antitrust grounds.”

Steady on, Russell! Katy Perry's fiancé plants a kiss on a fan as hundreds flock to meet him at book signing

In his new book, Russell Brand reveals he swore off other women after his very first date with fiancée Katy Perry.

But the reformed lothario couldn't say no when an attractive brunette fan asked for a kiss at a signing of My Booky Wook 2 in Liverpool today.

He obligingly planted one right on her lips, much to her sheer delight.

She was one of hundreds of fans who had queued to see the kookky author.

A queue of 500 screaming fans snaked around the Metro Centre with some girls literally shaking at the prospect of meeting their idol.

Of course, between promoting his new release, Brand is also busy planning his wedding to the pop star which is set to take place later this year.

Charlene Choi Doesn't Mind Ronald Cheng Removing Love Tattoo

Charlene Choi (Ah Sa), William Chan, and Sherman Chung attended to the rehearsal of Metro's concert yesterday. As for ex-husband Ronald Cheng removed the love tattoo "Charlene" on his arm and replaced it with another icon, Ah Sa expressed she knows nothing about it and doesn't mind. "I don't know about it," the singer said. "We have our new start? I don't know either." She frankly said she goes to work in Mainland often now and has less contact with Ronald.

Ah Sa expressed she is staying in Hong Kong for about a week for her album and will leave later to film movies. Talked about the rumor of RTHK to announce music awards winner list on Christmas Eve, she said: "I have work in Mainland that day. (Do you think RTHK's decision cause singers to earn less money?) It would be better if they can announce earlier. Many jobs are planned several months ago. My job on Christmas Eve is not for earning money. I won't agree to attend to events first then decline it later."

Ah Sa believed record companies are the ones that might worry the most about RTHK canceling 4 stations award. She said it doesn't really matter because Twins already won these awards and she won it on her own as well.

Taking tips from Twilight, then? Harry Potter turns all dark and brooding for new poster campaign

It's a look we've seen many times on Twilight's Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

Now the Harry Potter kids have turned all dark and brooding for their latest promotional campaign.

Warner Brothers Pictures has just released some new promotional pictures for the highly anticipated next installment in the series - Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part One - and the photos have a much darker edge to them than previous franchise pictures.

The three character posters show Harry, Hermione and Ron in close up and all three appear to have an evil air about them.

Box office preview: 'Life as We Know It' battles 'Social Network' for top spot; 'Secretariat' likely in third

The romantic comedy genre needs some intensive care after a bleak summer where the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Drew Barrymore could do little to attract audiences. Is Katherine Heigl the answer? The former Grey’s Anatomy star didn’t score opposite Ashton Kutcher in Killers this past July, but perhaps Josh Duhamel is a more appealing co-star. We’ll find out this weekend when the duo’s film, Life as We Know It, opens wide, opposite Disney’s Triple-Crown horserace flick, Secretariat, which is battling its own issues.

Disney’s feel-good horse flick is an important movie for the studio. They consider the Diane Lane-starrer a role model for the type of movies the studio wants to make. They might want to ease up on that strategy — while the marketers are trying to reach family audiences, especially the church-going crowd, it’s still unclear if either will show up.

Leaked Supposed Next-Gen iPad Pics Reveal Landscape Dock Connector

We can't confirm that the iPad back case in these photos is real, but it certainly lines up with Apple's own patents: this purported shot of the next iPad clearly shows off dual dock connectors.

The pictures posted at Mission Repair certainly look genuine enough, especially when you this new case is directly compared to the current generation:

Brad Pitt has his hands full as he takes twins Vivienne and Knox to visit Angelina in Budapest

They have six children and filming commitments on different sides of the globe.

So it's little wonder that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have had to share child care, with Pitt looking after twins Vivienne and Knox in Boston, and Jolie taking care of the couple's other children in Budapest.

But today, it seemed the family would be reunited with Pitt arriving at Budapest airport with the two-year-old twins in tow.

He had no problem carrying the toddlers who were both wearing thick winter hats to guard against the cold weather.

Pitt wore a flat black cap, black jacket and sunglasses as he took the twins to a waiting car en route to Jolie's rented ten room mansion in the Hungarian capital.

Rainie Yang goes 3D on the cover of VOGUE

VOGUE magazine specially invited Rainie Yang to be on their 3D cover of this month’s issue. After having been in showbiz for 10 years, Rainie expressed that she is most proud about being able to repay all her family’s debt, as well as being able to hold her own concert.

When asked about her love life, she revealed that she had come across the “right person” before, but they broke up in the ends; with her eyes becoming watery, she explained that her love for him was not steady enough. The 26 year old singer and actress had once dated Alien Huang, Roy Qiu, and Ben (of B.A.D). Thinking back to past relationships, she said, “I once said that I didn’t know what it feels like to have loved someone deeply, but because of that person, I know now.” One time, she told him that she was afraid of her dog dying and her mom leaving, and he responded, “At that time, I will be there,” which moved Rainie greatly.

Microsoft and Adobe CEOs meet, purportedly plan world domination

For a while, it seemed like Adobe and Microsoft were destined to be pure rivals. Microsoft seemed to be going after Adobe at every front, from Silverlight taking on Flash to Redmond's planned rival format to PDF.

These days, though, it seems like the two may be drawn to each other, thanks to the common enemy known as Apple.

Apparently the two companies think so too, at least according to a report today in The New York Times which says that Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer met for an hour recently with Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, with Apple a big part of the agenda.

"Adobe and Microsoft share millions of customers around the world and the CEOs of the two companies do meet from time to time," Adobe said in a statement. "However, we do not publicly comment on the timing or topics of their private meetings."

A Microsoft representative declined to comment on the report.

Adobe and Apple have been locked in a particularly nasty battle, with Apple keeping Flash off its popular iPhone and iPad devices and the two sides trading shots over who is to blame. Adobe has said that, in response to Apple, it is "shifting its focus" away from Cupertino.

Lady Gaga and Elton John: Working together on the pop queen's new album?

Will Elton John make an appearance on Lady Gaga‘s forthcoming album Born This Way? It seems very possible. EW recently spoke to Elton about The Union, his album collaboration with legendary pianist-songwriter Leon Russell, which hits stores Oct. 19, and the Rocket Man couldn’t help but bring up his love for all things Gaga. “I love her, and I love her ability to write,” he says. “I love the songs she writes.” A collab between the pair—who’ve become bosom buddies since performing together at January’s Grammy Awards (pictured here)—is a good possiblity. “I’d love to in the future,” John says of working with her. “I’d love to do that.” Then he elaborates: “There’s a chance I might do one track with her [for Born This Way], but it’s just, she’s so busy, and I’m so busy, we can never get together!” But, he adds, “I’ve already heard [Gaga's new album], so I think it’s more or less done. [Born This Way is expected to be released early next year.] Her record—it’s f—ing amazing. ‘Born This Way,’ which is the title song, will completely get rid of Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive.’ This is the new ‘I Will Survive.’ That was the gay anthem. This is the new gay anthem. Actually, it’s not a gay anthem—it can apply to anybody.”

iPhone's glass back giving Apple headaches

Apple likes glass. A lot. You can tell that much from its many retail stores, and in its products where glass is used in displays, notebook trackpads, and both the front and back of the iPhone 4.

That last place, though is what might be causing the company some headaches. That's according to a report today from Gdgt, which says that slip-on cases--the kind that cover the back and sometimes front of the iPhone 4, have been the cause of serious cosmetic damage with the backside of the iPhone. Dirt and other loose bits of debris from your pocket end up in that space. Over time, that can lead to a shattered backside as small scratches grow to become large cracks that travel across the back of the device, much like a ding on a windshield.

Lee DeWyze reveals album, single details

The album will be preceded by a single of the same name, which Ryan Seacrest will premiere on his radio show next Wednesday, Oct. 13.

A press release from DeWyze’s label says he’s working with songwriters and producers like Toby Gad (Beyoncé’s “If I Were a Boy,” Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry”), John Shanks (Kelly Clarkson’s “Breakaway”), and Espionage (Chris Brown’s “With You,” Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister”).

The photo reveals a charismatic Ha Ji Won, dressed in a black leather outfit, making the perfect an action queen.

A representative stated, “The photo is from the recording of the drama. To make the fantasy romance drama more spectacular, we have prepared some exciting action scenes.”

Secret Garden’s storyline is about a couple, Joo Won (Hyun Bin) and Lime (Ha Ji Won), who often gets into arguments whenever they meet. The two characters later have their souls exchanged, and the fantasy romance love storyline unfolds with the characters in their different bodies.

Ryan Gosling Kirsten Dunst Topless On “All Good Things” Movie Poster

All Good Things is theatrical adaptation of one of New York City’s most famous true-crime stories: that of real-estate heir Robert Durst, who, in 1982, was accused of (but never tried in) the murder of his missing wife. In the movie, Gosling and Dunst play characters based on The Dursts.

They also appear topless on the promotional poster for the film, which opens in December. In fact Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway pulled a similar stunt while promoting their upcoming romantic-comedy, Love & Other Drugs. So we ask: Which bare-chested hunk is hotter – Jake Gyllenhaal or Ryan Gosling?

New Ke$ha Video: What Do You Think?

When I'm bored, I try to come up with new ways to make fun of Miley Cyrus.

Conversely, when Ke$ha and her friends are bored, they create new versions of hit music videos. That's what the singer says went down this week, as she Tweeted:

me n my friends were bored and we were really channeling some 80s hard (tron, david bowie in labrynth, revenge of the nerds) and we made this new video for take it off. it was really fun to make. i hope you guys like it!!!!!

The top 3 reasons Facebook friends desert you?

So many of us are, these days, defined by the breadth of our Facebook friendships. So many of us are, therefore, devastated when one of our heartfelt online buddies disappears without saying good-bye, leaving a hole in our soul.

Thankfully, there is, at last, succor.

For a fine Ph.D. student at the University of Colorado at Denver Business School decided to find out precisely why someone gets defriended on Facebook.

It is a stimulating and sobering read. Christopher Sibona's conclusions, having asked 1,500 people why they might reject someone in their social network, offer an insight into our online selves that will surely help us all navigate pain just as easily as we currently navigate online pleasure.

Court orders Lin Chi-Ling to pay up back taxes

Taiwan’s number one supermodel Lin Chi-Ling has been ordered to pay 6.84 million NTD (~ $220,000 USD) in back taxes by the Taipei High Administrative Court. A penalty of 1.35 million NTD (~43,000 USD) was waived as they believe it wasn't done intentionally.

Her income taxes from 2003 to 2005 have in fact been disputed for many years. The main issue was whether she and management company Catwalk were working as collaborators, or she was working for them as an employee. She believes her income was earned by professional practice, so 45% of it could be expensed as per regulations.

However, the Taipei National Tax Administration believes Lin Chi-Ling was an employee of Catwalk based on the conditions of their contract. As a result, she should only be allowed to deduct NT$75,000 (~2,400 USD) from her salary. The administration maintained that she falsely reported her income tax from 03 to 05. Therefore they are asking her to pay a total of 8.19 million NTD (~265,000 USD) in back taxes and a fine.

Media outlets were out in full force at the court house to report on the ruling. They were hoping Lin Chi-Ling would make another surprise appearance like she did two weeks ago on a previous court date. Unfortunately the model was nowhere to be found as she was not in Taiwan. In a phone interview, her mother Wu Tzu-Mei (吳慈美) said they are planning to appeal.

Rachel Weisz and Emily Blunt play sisters doing ... what exactly?

Rachel Weisz and Emily Blunt are set to star as sisters in the latest project directed by indie wunderkind Lynn Shelton, according to Weisz’s reps. There’s not much else they’re revealing – no title, no plot – only the promise that the acting will be “semi-improvised,” and shot over a few weeks this coming fall. So let’s try our hand at guessing what it’s all about, shall we?

Shelton’s three previous films all feature two characters in intimate congress. In her January 2009 release, Humpday, a pair of old college buddies explore the implications of having sex with each other on tape to win an amateur porn competition. My Effortless Brilliance from 2008 features two dudes again, ex-best friends sorting out their differences in a remote cabin in Eastern Washington. And in Shelton’s first feature from 2005, We Go Way Back, a rising actress who’s nabbed a plum role is dogged by the specter of her younger self.

All good fodder for a sister flick. In considering the predecessors, here’s what I’ve come up with: Weisz’s character convinces Blunt’s to reshoot a childhood home video in a cabin in the woods. In the process, they come to understand why they love each other and themselves. And that they’re pretty.

Katherine Heigl explains her image problem

Katherine Heigl’s been on the promotional circuit hyping Life As We Know It, but her interview on KTLA this morning was more candid — and interesting — than most. She talked about her “image problem,” as described in her New York Times profile:

“I’ve spent a lot of time trying to figure out where I went off track and how and why and what I can do in the future to avoid that. But as he says in the article, nothing I said was particularly scandalous — it just had a tone. And that’s the most important thing I’ve sort of learned as I get older and grow a little bit and get a little less defensive… I can just let go of the tone, and still say what I gotta say, and be honest, and all those things, but maybe not so edgy.”

Heigl may have rubbed a few people the wrong way, but the NYT profile sort of swayed me. Is it really so awful to say things that are true? Of course Knocked Up is “a little bit sexist,” and that season of Grey’s Anatomy did totally suck. Maybe it’s the dawn of a new day for Heigl.

What do you think?

Amazon App Store for Android confirmed by WSJ

Amazon's always worked hard to make sure it's in the digital goods business as well as its obviously successful physical one, but this might be one of its boldest steps yet: another app store for Android. We heard the rumor a couple weeks ago through TechCrunch, and The Wall Street Journal is now claiming to have proof, including an Amazon document explaining some of the terms to the developers. It's apparently still unclear when the store will be launched or even what it'll be called, and since so far it seems like Amazon is mainly talking to developers about this behind closed doors, some of the specifics might still be in the air. According to the WSJ, Amazon stipulates an app can't be sold for less anywhere else (which was hinted at in the earlier leak), and there's a stranger requirement that the app can't be on offer anywhere else for more than two weeks before it's given to Amazon. We're guessing that's an Android only stipulation -- or else a bit of a high barrier for iOS ports -- but that just brings up more to worry about: is Amazon building a store just a first in an onslaught? And is this indeed part of an Android tablet launch for Amazon?

Microsoft to fix 49 holes in Windows, IE, Office, and .NET

Microsoft will fix a record 49 vulnerabilities in its Patch Tuesday release next week that will involve 16 security bulletins affecting Windows, Internet Explorer, Office, and the .NET framework.

Four of the bulletins carry a "critical" rating, 10 are rated "important," and two are "moderate," according to the advisory.

They affect specifically Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 and 2008, Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 3, Office 2003 Service Pack 3, Office 2007 Service Pack 2, Office 2010, Office 2004 for Mac and 2008 for Mac, Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, SharePoint Server 2007, Groove Server 2010, and Office Web Apps.

Sandra Bullock Better Than Angelina Jolie?

Sandra Bullock's next possible role is really out of this world.

The actress is close to sealing the deal on a movie that would find her playing an astronaut struggling to get home from space opposite Robert Downey Jr.

But, per the Hollywood Reporter, the role in the sci-fi thriller Gravity was almost given to one of several other lovely leading ladies…

Angelina Jolie was actually the original go-to gal for the project, but things didn't pan out due to salary issues, and Natalie Portman was a strong contender before negotiations with her fell through.

Warner Bros., the studio behind the film, also had conversations with Marion Cotillard and even tested the likes of Scarlett Johansson and Blake Lively.

Which brings us back to Bullock, who, if you recall, was given the lead in another little movie called The Blind Side after Julia Roberts passed on it.

And we all know how that turned out.

'Help us mutiny': Johnny Depp pays surprise visit to London primary school dressed as Jack Sparrow after letter from girl, 9

It's not every day a Hollywood heart-throb pitches up in your classroom.

But these Greenwich schoolgoers left the rest of Britain's children - if not parents - green with envy when they had a surprise visit from Johnny Depp yesterday.

The star is currently in south-east London filming the fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie On Stranger Tides and arrived at the Meridian Primary School dressed in full character as Captain Jack Sparrow.

He made the one-off trip after nine-year-old pupil Beatrice Delap wrote to the star asking for help staging a 'mutiny' against the teachers, as he was filming at the nearby 18th century Old Naval College.

iPad 2nd Generation Adding Retina Display and 128GB of Strage, Wall Street Analyst Says

In the first half of 2011, Apple is more than likely going to showcase a new iPad. A new model, with new features, and following perfectly in their annual refresh of their products. While that’s expected, what the new tablet device will feature is still up in the air. But that’s why we have analysts, and their predictions. According to Wall Street analyst Brian White of Ticonderoga Securities, he expects the new iPad to bring some of the features of the iPhone 4, and a big boost in memory.

During a trip to Taipei, White got in touch with some suppliers, and has determined that Apple plans on launching a new iPad in the first quarter of 2011 calendar year. Interestingly enough, his checks with suppliers confirmed some previous rumors that we have heard: a 7-inch display, and feature a mini or micro USB port. While that doesn’t confirm anything, it does show that there’s some rumors that are starting to co-exist.

White believes that the new model of the iPad will replace the first generation, which wouldn’t be a surprise, though he doesn’t say whether or not the 9.7-inch model will actually stick around. Other rumors suggest that the new, smaller model would be “in addition” to the larger, original-sized iPad. The most interesting aspect of the new iPad, according to the analyst, is that the device will feature Apple’s Retina Display, as well as include 128GB of memory. While more memory makes sense, and it wouldn’t be a surprise that Apple would want to showcase their Retina Display on more devices, these two rumors are just more to add to the pile.

Bruno Mars' 'Just the Way You Are' holds No. 1 spot on Billboard Hot 100 chart for third straight week

For a third consecutive week, Bruno Mars‘ “Just the Way You Are” is No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Far East Movement‘s techno party-starter “Like a G6″ flies up four spots to No. 2. Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” falls a spot to No. 3.

Nelly’s “Just a Dream” rises three to No. 4. Both falling one spot, Usher‘s “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love” is No. 5 and Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite” is No. 6. Eminem‘s Rihanna-assisted “Love the Way You Lie” slides back four places to No. 7. But the red-haired singer is at it alone on “Only Girl (in the World),” which holds at No. 8. Enrique Iglesias’ “I Like It” stays at No. 9. And “Club Can’t Handle Me” by Flo Rida rounds out the top 10 at No. 10.

WSJ: Apple prepping CDMA iPhone

Verizon Wireless is in San Francisco for CTIA Fall 2010 to discuss its LTE strategy, but a new report has surfaced to reignite rumors of a Verizon-bound iPhone.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple is beginning preparations to mass produce a CDMA--the wireless technology used by Verizon, as well as Sprint--iPhone by the end of the year, which would allow Big Red to start offering the smartphone in early 2011.

Sources say that the CDMA iPhone would feature a similar design to the iPhone 4, but also said Apple is developing a fifth-generation iPhone with a different design.

Though we've heard these rumors many times before, it seems Verizon is being a little more vocal about the possibility of an iPhone-Verizon deal.

Who Is Really Winning the Smartphone Race?

Apple fanboys vs HTC fandroids. Crackberry junkies vs Nokia cheerleaders. All of them have their arguments and neverending doses of absurdly blind faith in a corporation. But who is really winning this race? Who is really the dominant smartphone manufacturer?

It's hard to tell.

See, when you take into consideration more than one factor, you get a different picture of how things are. Here you can see that Samsung is gaining market share faster than all its competitors, but their profit share growth is going down. Then you can see that Apple is gaining market share at a good rate, but their profit share growth dwarfs everyone else. The iPhone is one popular smartphone, with a hefty profit.

Kim Kardashian: Not Dating Anyone and Not Pregnant

Good news for Big Apple bachelors: Kim Kardashian is still available.

When asked about the rumors linking her to Kayne West, whom she recently shot some scenes with at the new N.Y. Dash location, Kim laughed them off.

"It's like, automatically you're dating...right now, apparently I'm pregnant," she told E! News, "That's the new one!"

Another person the 100 percent single girl isn't seeing is...

One Tree Hill actor Michael Copon, who InTouch is reporting as her new man.

A source close to Kim says that's totally not the case.

"She was filming the show at a bar Tuesday night. He was there, and they said hello," the insider tells E!. "They're so not dating!"

But what's the almost 30-year-old looking for from her next guy? Apparently, someone who doesn't have much time for her.

Weird, we know. We'll let Kimmy explain.

"I'm looking to meet someone nice and normal, but somoene that also has a lot going on, so they understand that I do, too and that I don't have all the time in the world," she told E! News. "Wouldn't that be like the perfect relationship? Someone that doesn't have a lot of time for you?"

Kim made time last night to attend the season finale party for E!'s The Spin Crowd, which she executive produced. Sister Khloé was also on hand at Provocateur to celebrate power PR duo Simon Huck and Jonathan Cheban's final episode of the season.

Android continues to surge, report shows

Android continues to gobble up more smartphone customers, according to the new stats from market researcher ComScore.

Looking at the three months ending August, Android's market share rose to 19.6 percent in the U.S.--a gain of 6.6 points from the prior three months. Though Google's smartphone platform is still third among the top five, it was the only one to show growth in market share for the period.

Among the other major players, RIM was the leading smartphone platform with 37.6 percent of U.S. subscribers. Apple was next in line with 24.2 percent. Microsoft accounted for 10.8 percent, and Palm came in last with 4.6 percent. These four companies shedded market share to Android during the quarter, but ComScore noted in its press release yesterday that most smartphone platforms still won more subscribers outright over the summer due to ever-increasing consumer demand.

The 55.7 million people in the U.S. who owned smartphones during the three months ending August represented a jump of 14 percent over the prior three months.

Jolin Tsai caught out on gym date with a love bite

Jolin Tsai and rumoured boyfriend Vivian Dawson were caught on a gym date by Taiwan paparazzi, with the pop star spotting a suspicious mark on her neck

Since the exposure of their relationship, all eyes were on Jolin Tsai and beau Vivian Dawson when the pair was spotted working out in the gym yesterday.

A make-up free Tsai was easily identified at the gym even though she wore a fedora hat, spectacles and a striped top that matches Dawson's.

The 1.61m singer seemed significantly petite next to the 1.89m half-Singaporean, half-New Zealand model, who lovingly guided Tsai to use the fitness equipment.

But the pair's workout rendezvous turned out to be short-lived when Tsai realized that she was being followed. Signaling to Dawson to grab her bag, the rumoured couple swiftly left through the back door and went separate ways when the cameras caught up with them.

Chelsea Handler: 'Nothing' to 50 Cent Romance Rumors – Yet

Are they or aren't they?

In response to recent reports that Chelsea Handler is dating 50 Cent, the Chelsea Lately host took to her Twitter page Wednesday night saying, "Everyone, calm down. I met with mr. Cent about a potential project. There's nothing to report yet, ill let you know if there is."

But sources tell PEOPLE that the couple are indeed spending quality time together. "It's legit," says one source. "It's casual."

Speculation about the possible hookup started after Handler, 35, and the rapper (real name Curtis Jackson), also 35, were spotted getting close at the Blue Nile jazz bar in New Orleans last Sunday. The rapper also made a flirty appearance on Handler's show Chelsea Lately last December, sparking rumors that he’d asked Handler out on a date.

Avril Lavigne & Brody Jenner Party with Her Ex in L.A.

If the couple that parties together, stays together, then it's clear why Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner are still going strong.

The pop star and her reality-TV boyfriend were all over each other at the Premiere nightclub in Hollywood on Tuesday, even with Lavigne's ex-husband, Deryck Whibley, nearby.

Looking like teenagers in love, Lavigne, 26, and Jenner, 27, stole kisses and touches from each other all night, as they partied with friends – including Whibley, 30, who spent time chatting with them at their table.

Jenner seemed uninterested in anyone but his girlfriend, showering her with attention and pulling her in for a kiss whenever he got the chance. Lavigne didn't stray far from Jenner throughout the evening, constantly sitting on his lap and whispering in his ear.

The couple got together in the spring, and have been holding PDA sessions in clubs ever since.

T-Mobile myTouch hands-on

That front-facing camera, optical trackpad and Genius button are all in plain sight, but we're afraid we didn't get to give them a try -- the screen on this T-Mobile myTouch is pitch black because it's just a hardware prototype. That didn't keep us from snapping plenty of pictures when we spotted the Froyo-filled HSPA+ handset at the carrier's booth, though -- including a few of the phone side-by-side with its predecessor, the myTouch Slide. First, you'd probably like to hear about the hardware on display, so here's the executive summary: the device feels fairly solid, it's got a neat two-tone design with a fancy metal battery cover, and there's a nice big shutter button. The myTouch also sports a set of three copper contacts on the side almost certainly destined for a landscape dock, though nearby T-Mobile representatives quickly disavowed knowledge of any such product. They did confirm we'll see the phone by the holidays, though, so we won't have long to wait.

Skype's Android shackles are broken, 3G calling hacked into reality

Well, that didn't take long. Just days after the official Skype application finally landed in the Android Market, along comes an .apk that's far more salacious for Americans. Thanks to xeudoxus over at Droid Forums, a tweaked version of the app is now available to download and sideload (sorry, stock Aria owners), promising the same functionality but without that nasty 3G block. It's really as simple as that -- hit those source links to get the unquestionably superior version, and feel free to let us know how your carrier's network holds up in a test call.
