Sandra Bullock's next possible role is really out of this world.The actress is close to sealing the deal on a movie that would find her playing an astronaut struggling to get home from space opposite Robert Downey Jr.
But, per the Hollywood Reporter, the role in the sci-fi thriller Gravity was almost given to one of several other lovely leading ladies…
Angelina Jolie was actually the original go-to gal for the project, but things didn't pan out due to salary issues, and Natalie Portman was a strong contender before negotiations with her fell through.
Warner Bros., the studio behind the film, also had conversations with Marion Cotillard and even tested the likes of Scarlett Johansson and Blake Lively.
Which brings us back to Bullock, who, if you recall, was given the lead in another little movie called The Blind Side after Julia Roberts passed on it.
And we all know how that turned out.
