The night Mariah Carey dropped in on a dancer

It probably wasn't quite the dramatic entrance she had hoped to achieve.

Performing at a Florida hotel, pop diva Mariah Carey descended from the ceiling on a swing, wearing a gold basque and enough tulle netting to smother a fairy godmother.

But the lower she got, the more she seemed to be edging somewhat intimately close to one of her male dancers.

He gamely kept his choreographed position, arms outstretched and eyes raised, as the singer neared the stage.

Robert Downey Beyonce “A Star Is Born” Remake

Robert Downey Jr. and Beyonce are tipped to take the lead roles in Nick Cassavettes’ remake of the 1930s cinema classic A Star Is Born, Deadline Hollywood reported Friday.

First released in 1937, the musical has been remade for the silver screen twice; once with Judy Garland and James Mason in 1957 and a second time with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson in 1976. Will Smith and Jennifer Lopez were linked to a abandoned remake planned by director Joel Schumacher.

John Hamm, Alicia Keys and Rihanna are rumored to appear in the Cassavettes feature. A Star Is Born is expected to dance into theaters in 2012.

Report: Apple tablet could earn $3 billion in a year

There has been a lot of speculation as to what Apple's rumored tablet will look like and how it will work. One analyst is now speculating on how much potential revenue the device, expected to be announced next week, could bring the Mac maker.

Mike Abramsky of RBC Capital estimates that Apple will sell each tablet for $600, according to an AppleInsider report. At that price, the "base case" scenario of 5 billion units sold during the first year would bring Apple an additional $2.8 billion in revenue.

Of course, we all know how important price is these days, when launching a new product, so Abramsky gave a couple of other scenarios to consider. If Apple sells the tablet for $800, Apple would see $777 million in revenue for the sale of 1 million units.

You can see the trend here--as the price goes up, the predicted number of units sold goes down.

Mozilla launches Firefox 3.6, calls it 'world's best browser'

'Users will feel the speed,' says Mozilla exec

Mozilla today released Firefox 3.6, the first upgrade to the open-source browser since last June.

Firefox 3.6 was posted to Mozilla's download servers early Thursday, just over five months after the browser first entered public testing with an alpha release. The upgrade shifted to beta in early November 2009, then wrapped up with a pair of release candidates (RC).

RC2, which reached testers last weekend, was sufficiently bug-free that Mozilla renamed that build as the final it shipped today.

The new browser includes built-in support for the scaled-down browser skins dubbed "Personas;" adds support for new CSS, DOM and HTML 5 technologies, as well as for full-screen video and the open-source Web Open Font Format (WOFF).

Kate Hudson struggles to control her billowing skirt as she cycles for new film role

It can be hard work being a Hollywood actress.

The satin and lace creation billowed up as she cycled along, leaving Kate trying to preserve her modesty.

She was busy filming a cycling scene for her new movie Earthbound in New Orleans.

Kate recently ended her relationship with baseball star Alex Rodriguez.

Russell Brand and Katy Perry celebrate their engagement the traditional way... with a family party

Around 50 family members and close friends ate cake, drank cocktails and toasted the happy couple at the quiet celebration.

Russell's mother Mary Hudson flew out to Los Angeles for the bash, held at Il Cielo in Beverly Hills.

The room was decorated with candles and red roses, with a white chocolate cake with the message 'Katy [heart] Russell'.

Robert Pattinson Gets Bearded

Summit and everyone had better figure out this Breaking Dawn dramz (or nondrama?) soon because this is what happens to Robert Pattinson when he's not in sparkle vampire mode.

R.Pattz has decided to grow his face hair. On the one hand, we're surprised his smooth, porcelain skin can even grow that much hair. So, well done!

But on the other, we'll be glad when it's gone since it kinda makes him look like a bum. But maybe that's what some of you are into, which is fine. No judgments!

Google Reigns Supreme In 2009 Worldwide Searches But Microsoft Sees Faster Growth

The December 2009 global search stats are out from comScore and unsurprisingly Google took the top spot for total worldwide searches last month, with 87.8 billion searches over Google sites. Google’s searches rose 58 percent from December 2008’s searches, which totaled 55.6 billion searches. Yahoo and Baidu followed Google, with 9.4 billion and 8.5 billion searches, respectively. Google accounted for two-thirds of overall searches in December, which are estimated at 131 billion.

But Microsoft saw the greatest jump in number of queries worldwide for the year, with searches rising 70 percent, from 2.4 billion in December 2008 to 4.1 billion in December 2009. This can be attributed to the launch of Microsoft’s new search engine, Bing, which is seeing traction. Russian search engine Yandex also grew year over the year, which volume of search queries rising 91 percent to 1.9 billion searches.

Apple Tablet not necessarily on Verizon Wireless, analysts say

Expected device may run on both AT&T and Verizon 3G networks, sources say

An Apple tablet computer, expected to be introduced next week, will run on both AT&T and Verizon Wireless 3G networks, reports say, but two industry sources warned today to not assume Verizon is on board.

It is possible both carriers had made deals to provide wireless service earlier in the week, however some last minute changes may be related to business decisions and have little to do with technology limitations.

The two analysts spoke separately with Computerworld on the condition of anonymity, which may indicate the carrier situation is probably volatile and could change before Apple's expected tablet announcement next Wednesday.

Additionally, the device is only expected to be announced that day, and any internal components could be altered prior to its initial shipment a few weeks later.

Spokesmen for both the carriers said they would not comment on the issue.

BEAST tags along with 4minute on concert tour, ends up being more popular!

The five girls of Korean pop group 4minute probably didn’t know, but by taking their handsome younger bros BEAST along to Taiwan for their concert, their handsome younger bros eventually became more popular!

When the two groups first had a meet-and-greet with their fans in Taiwan the day before, BEAST ended up having much more fans, far exceeding the count that the organizers of the event expected. When 4minute came back to perform, they conformed to the customary Chinese Mandarin greeting by saying “Da jia hao (Hello, everyone)”.

Motorola asks ITC to ban BlackBerry imports

Patent litigation between Motorola and Research In Motion is heating up, with Motorola filing a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission.

In the complaint, filed Friday, Motorola alleges that RIM engages in unfair trade practices by importing and selling products that infringe five Motorola patents. The patents cover technologies related to Wi-Fi access, application management, user interface and power management, Motorola said.

Motorola is asking the ITC to investigate RIM and bar the company from importing, marketing and selling products in the U.S. that use the technologies.

RIM has been deploying delay tactics in ongoing patent litigation and has refused to design around Motorola’s technologies, Motorola claims.

Palm's Pre Plus and Pixi Plus slipping into Best Buy locales everywhere

Officially speaking, the Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus still have a weekend ahead of 'em before they can be sold, but if you know the right person in your local Best Buy, you could very well be playing with one hours before your contemporaries. An anonymous tipster beamed over the image you see above via our handy iPhone app, noting that both of Palm's first entries onto Verizon's network were in stock. Granted, neither are for sale per se, but what's stopping you from moseying on down and giving it a shot? Nothing, that's what.

The Tablets of Our Dreams

Computers in movies look nothing like the beasts we lug around today. They're thin and light, a single pane that jumps to life when touched. Technology follows Hollywood dreams; here's hoping this montage is a portent of what's coming soon.

The world will be shocked if Apple doesn't reveal a tablet computer next week. It won't be the first, not by any stretch, and it won't be the first multitouch device, naturally. But as we envision it, the tablet represents the fusion of two of the most steadfast dreams of sci-fi nerds and ordinary people alike.

Larry and Sergey Plan to Dump Google Stock and Give Up Voting Control

Google just put out an SEC filing saying founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin plan on dumping some of their holdings of the company's stock.

When they finish selling 5 million shares apiece, they'll still own 15% of the outstanding shares, but their voting power will have dropped below 50%. So they are ceding absolute control of the company.

From the filing:

Larry and Sergey currently hold approximately 57.7 million shares of Class B common stock, which represents approximately 18% of Google's outstanding capital stock and approximately 59% of the voting power of Google's outstanding capital stock.

Under the terms of these Rule 10b5-1 trading plans, and as a part of a five year diversification plan, Larry and Sergey each intend to sell approximately 5 million shares.

Pal: Angelina Yells at Brad that She "Hates" New Orleans

The Big Easy is nothing but a big headache for Angelina Jolie. She and her partner, Brad Pitt, purchased a home in New Orleans in 2007 -- but an insider tells Us Weekly that an irked Jolie "calls it 'his house.'"

It seems that the resilient Louisiana city isn't Jolie's cup of tea, and it threatens to drive a wedge between her and Pitt, 46. "Brad loves spending time in New Orleans, but Angie doesn't," the source divulges in the new issue of Us Weekly. "They fight because of it...she keeps yelling at him that she hates New Orleans and never wants to go back."

Friends say Pitt is devoted to the Mardi Gras burg because it allows him to indulge in his passions for architecture and environmentalism (he established a foundation to build 150 "green" homes in the wake of Hurricane Katrina). If the actor had his way, he'd love settle down in the southern town with Jolie and their six kids.

Chris Brown Might Want to Rethink This Photo Op ...

We want to give Chris Brown a chance to repair his image. We really do.

Sometimes, though, the guy just needs his publicist closer by to prevent unfortunate incidents such as his Twitter meltdown last month, or the photo below.

Brown has been peeping some runway shows during Paris Fashion Week, which is cool, except that he decided to go see Jean Paul Gaultier's presentation.

Jean Paul an iconic couture designer known for wildly creative shows.

So much so that Gaultier got in on the action, covering his face with makeup to look like blood and bruises in order to match his boxing-themed collection.

Naturally, Chris Brown had to go and pose with him, though. Innocent, yes. But not after he turned the face of Rihanna into much worse than this ...

Is There Such a Thing as Sex Addiction?

Once upon a time, we called them lotharios or Don Juans. But today, men who chronically cheat on their wives have earned a different scarlet moniker: sex addicts.

Reports that Tiger Woods has been photographed at an addiction clinic in Mississippi prompt the question on the minds of many: Is there such a thing as sexual addiction - or are men like Woods merely taking advantage of the many opportunities that come their way?

"In the field of psychiatry, there's not a clear agreement about whether or not it's even a diagnosis," said Ginger Manley, a nursing professor and certified sex therapist at Vanderbilt University.

To many Americans, sex addiction is often a punch line. "People say, 'If I have an addiction, I want to have that one,'" Manley said. But Manley and other sex therapists say most clients don't get treatment until their sexual behavior has ruined their lives - wrecking their marriages, causing them to spend thousands of dollars on pornography or prostitutes, or even getting arrested for soliciting prostitutes.

ISS Astronauts Get Ultimate Wireless Network, Send First Tweet From Space

ISS Flight Engineer T.J. Creamer has sent the first tweet from space. Did he use his pointy nipple antennas to transmit data back to Earth? No. According to NASA, he used the "ultimate wireless connection", which actually is quite clever.

The new network is called Crew Support LAN, a software update that allows astronauts to personally use the internet as they will use it from their own home. This can only happen during times in which the ISS is transmitting data to the ground stations at high speed, using Ku-Band communications. However, it's not as simple as firing up Firefox from space.

Hacker Enables Multitouch on Nexus One Browser

The Google Nexus One has drawn some criticism for its lack of multitouch support, especially as the omission seems to be arbitrary. But the allowed a hacker to enable multitouch capabilities on Google's flagship device.

Cyanogen, a celebrated hacker in the Android community, released a modified version of the Android 2.1 OS that enables multitouch features for the Nexus One smartphone. The hack enables multitouch in the native Web browser only, but Cyanogen said he would be adding this functionality to other apps soon as well.

It's not exactly clear why the Google Nexus One does not feature multitouch capabilities. Some blame it on Apple, which reportedly owns the rights to the technology, while some reports speculate that Apple and Google have a gentleman's agreement that Google won't enable this feature.

In comparison to the Apple iPhone, the Nexus One is noticeably missing multitouch features such as pinch-to-zoom in the Web browser or Maps and for the software keyboard. However, the multitouch hack for the Nexus one enables pinch-to-zoom in the browser and paves the way for gesture use in other apps as well.

Sony's secret kill switch: myth, rumor or hearsay?

Could there be something lurking deep inside your Sony laptop or TV programmed to break the device as soon as the warranty expires? That may sound like a crazy conspiracy theory not far off those involving the mysterious deaths of engineers, but it's a theory that continues to persist to some degree in Japan, and even seems to have grown in recent years. As Telegraph.co.uk reports, the belief in a secret timer or "kill switch" has been around for the past twenty years or so, but it apparently took on some newfound momentum amid the rash of Sony laptop battery failures, which even prompted some Sony execs to publicly deny that such a switch exists. The kill switch apparently isn't completely pervasive though, as the PlayStation 3 is supposedly "exempt," thereby explaining its considerable success in Japan -- although there's some talk that's because it's a Trojan horse for Sony's next big scheme: mind control disguised as 3D glasses.

BeBook Neo ereader: WiFi and Wacom touchscreen

It’s obviously the day for wireless ebook readers, with BeBook announcing that they’re taking preorders for their new BeBook Neo ereader. Packing a 6-inch E Ink panel with a Wacom touchscreen, the Neo may not have integrated 3G like some rivals we’ve seen, but it does get WiFi for accessing a range of third-party ebook stores.

In fact punch in your location and BeBook’s UI will automatically show you what ebook retailers are offering their wares. There’s also Wikipedia and Google access, together with a sketchpad app (albeit monochrome), and the Neo will display ePub, PDF (DRM/non-DRM), TXT and various picture formats.

Last week she was burnt out, collapsing from dehydration and exhaustion during her U.S. tour.

And it seems Lady GaGa has been in the wars again this week as she appeared to be sporting a worrying burn on her arm.

During a meet and greet with fans, following her second night at the Radio City Music Hall in New York, an unsightly, inflamed scab was clearly visible on her forearm just above the tattoo on her wrist.

I have to take Viagra to keep up with Catherine Zeta-Jones: Michael Douglas, 65, reveals their bedroom secrets

Michael Douglas has revealed the secret to keeping the fire alive in his marriage to much younger wife Catherine Zeta Jones - and it's not flowers nor candlelit dinners.

In a frank admission, the 65-year-old actor has confessed to using modern medicine to keep up with the 40-year-old Welsh actress in the bedroom.

'God bless her that she likes older guys,' he said when quizzed about the success of his marriage.

'And some wonderful enhancements have happened in the last few years - Viagra, Cialis - that can make us all feel younger.'

The couple, who married in 2000 and have a daughter Carys, 6, and son Dylan, 9, have defied critics who expected their May December marriage to fizzle out.

Instead, Douglas says he is more focused and committed to his family than ever.

Douglas has said little about his actor son's July 28 arrest and subsequent imprisonment other than to describe it as 'devastating'.

His son had been arrested previously for possessing cocaine and could get life in prison if convicted of charges that he sold thousands of dollars worth of methamphetamine.

'I'll assume whatever responsibilities I have to. Would it have been better to have been around more? Absolutely. There were absences, and I was no angel,' he said.

'Cameron has a lot of life ahead. He now recognizes his own demons and struggles.'

Douglas said his son, his only child with his first wife Diandra Luker, is a 'tough kid' but he still worried about his welfare.

'He's in a federal prison, and you've got some big, bad boys down there,' said Douglas.

His son was arrested at a Manhattan hotel, and prosecutors allege he shipped large quantities of drugs from California to New York via mail service FedEx.

Douglas, 65, the son of actor Kirk Douglas, is determined not to make the same mistakes again when it comes to parenting.

'I see the confidence my kids have got versus the struggle for confidence that I had or that Cameron might have dealt with,' he said.

Robert Pattinson ‘Can’t Live Without Kristen Stewart’

ROBERT Pattinson has realized he can’t live without Kristen Stewart.

While promoting Twilight sequel New Moon separately last year (he in Japan, she in South America), the lovebirds learned that absence really does make the heart grow fonder!

When the pair reconnected during the European leg of the film’s publicity tour, Rob soon found out that Kristen is the girl for him.

“Rob realized that he just can’t live without Kristen,” a source said. “He missed her so much. They’re so in love. It’s adorable!”

And the night before the couple was seen holding hands in France, Rob turned their suite at the Hotel de Crillon into the ultimate love nest, the National Enquirer reports.

“Rob arranged for the staff to place dozens of roses around the room,” a source told the tabloid.

“There were flower petals covering the floor and bed and lit candles everywhere when she walked in. Rob poured his heard out to Kristen about their ’special connection’.”

Meanwhile, insiders claim Rob’s mom, Clare, is keen for her superstar son to start a family with 19-year-old Kristen.

Ke$ha: I Really Am a Freak!

Ke$ha may or may not be a lesbian. It's unknown for certain.

But there's one thing the breakout singer wants to makes very clear: she really is a freak!

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the "Tik Tok" artist took exception to those that think her rebellious image is merely an act. She said:

”Go through my high school yearbooks - I always looked like a f-cking weirdo. I made my own purple velvet pants, living in Brentwood, which is like the Bible belt. And no one would talk to me in middle school... [in] 9th grade, [I] stole my mom’s minivan, drove to Atlanta, snuck into Radiohead, front row.

None of it’s bull$hit.”

Unlike Glenn Beck, Ke$ha swears her public persona is not an act. Do you believe her?

Apple iPad tablet leak tips dual dock-connectors? ; Apple Tablet in CDMA and GSM flavors for both Verizon & AT&T?

Piece together all the Apple iPad tablet rumors, supposed-leaks and speculation and you’d end up with a Frankenstein’s monster of a device, one capable of hypnotizing the whole blogosphere ahead of Apple’s press conference next Wednesday. Latest to throw their oar in is iLounge, who reckon they have the scoop on two hardware details for the touchscreen slate. Most curious is the suggestion – so their source claims – that the iPad will have dual dock connectors.

The two ports – one for the long edge of the iPad, the other for the short edge – would allow the tablet to be docked in both portrait and landscape orientations, something not currently possible with the iPod touch and iPhone. Considering multimedia – including video playback – is meant to be a strong focus for the iPad, it would certainly make sense for Apple to allow it to dock in a widescreen manner.

Yoon Eun Hye and Nichkhun spotted at the airport

As most of you already know, 2PM’s beastly idols Taecyeon and Nichkhun have been working with model, actress, and singer Yoon Eun Hye for a Cass Beer commercial film. Although short versions of the CF have been released, we are still waiting for the full music video to drop.

However, a short fancam of Nichkhun and Yoon Eun Hye has been circulating the internet, in which the two were spotted at Incheon Airport. Despite their attempt to remain unseen, a pair of sunglasses couldn’t keep a sharp-eyed fan from noticing them. I mean, how can you not? They are practically emitting an aura of beauty that is bound to crack necks from doing a double take.

ASUS DR-950 ereader live shots released

The ASUS DR-950 ereader isn’t the DR-570 OLED-lovely we’ve been hearing about lately, but we won’t turn our nose up at a 9-inch E Ink touchscreen and integrated WiFi and HSDPA. So far it’s yet to show up for playtime, but ASUS have sent out a few live images (including some comparison shots with the iPhone) just to prove it’s more than a render.

The DR-950 has a 1024 x 768 resolution display, supporting PDF, ePub and HTML files among others, and offers text-to-speech and RSS. There’s also 2-4GB of onboard storage – with an SD card slot to augment that – together with a USB port and 3.5mm headphone jack, and ASUS aren’t ruling out squeezing WiMAX into the 0.35-inch thick frame.

'Avatar' and 'Titanic': Four Reasons They Became Mega Movie Hits

'Avatar' Is on Pace to Eclipse 'Titanic's' Earnings This Weekend

Not the movie itself -- which, if you haven't seen, means you're either wholly immune to peer pressure and/or uninterested in wearing flimsy frames to watch blue creatures run around for nearly three hours -- but its success, its astonishing success, is a little scary.

"Avatar's" earnings have reached proportions so massive, it wouldn't be a shock if the movie turned into a living, breathing creature that threatened to occupy all screens everywhere until the end of time (not unlike Jay Leno).

Just kidding. James Cameron's latest Golden-Globe-award-winning epic is on pace to eclipse his last epic, "Titanic," with its ever-rising box office earnings.

As of Thursday afternoon, "Avatar's" global gross earnings totaled more than $1.68 billion, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com, putting it a relative hair away from "Titanic's" $1.8 billion, the greatest global gross in movie history. (It ought to be noted that if inflation were taken into account, "Titanic's" haul would total $2.4 billion in today's dollars.)

Miley Cyrus Lures a Beardless Joaquin Phoenix Out of Hiding

The answer to the question "Has anyone seen Joaquin Phoenix?" is an emphatic "Yes, Miley Cyrus has."

The bizarre yet highly watchable duo, together with Liv Tyler, have joined forces for a rather charming PSA to both raise awareness for the suicide-prevention group To Write Love On Her Arms and secure the organization $1 million.

The clean-shaven and—more surprisingly, given his last recorded appearance—coherent Phoenix plays the role of a flummoxed Luddite who yearns for someone who is "entertaining and fun" and, most importantly, "chattery" to teach him how to log on to the site.

Gerard Butler Jennifer Aniston W Magazine Photoshoot “Raunchiest In Publication’s History”

Move over Brad and Angie, Aniston’s ready to strike a pose in her what celebrity spies call the most revealing photospread of her career. After once again sparking rumors of a clandestine liason, Hollywood sweetheart Jennifer Aniston and Scottish actor Gerard Butler will set tongues wagging with a nearly X-rated photoshoot on the pages of the March issue of W Magazine, PopEater insiders squealed this week.

The pics, taken in the California desert that kisses the outskirts of Los Angeles, feature Jennifer scantily-clad in skimpy underwear while Gerard poses as a leather-clad NYPD officer. The snaps are sure to provoke comparisons with Brad and Angelina’s infamously retro-themed shoot for W in 2005.

“For two days Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler were in the desert outside LA creating these really hot pictures. The result is the raciest cover in the history of W. Those pictures of Brad and Angelina? Forget it,” says a source.

“Jen has a natural and effortless sexiness compared to Angelina’s very stylized look. And you have Gerry who is just the epitome of a manly man, dressed in a cop uniform. These photos will do nothing to quell the rumors of their romance – quite the opposite in fact,” the source added.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 headed to O2 UK?

Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 (which will soon hit Japan via NTT DoCoMo) has appeared on O2 UK’s website, in the accessories shop (you can’t see the page if you’re not in the UK) – which means that the largest British mobile carrier should soon offer the smartphone for sale.

Coming as Sony Ericsson’s first Android smartphone, the Xperia X10 is a high-end device that features a large 4 inch touchscreen display with 480 x 854 pixels, HSPA connectivity, Wi-Fi with DLNA, GPS with Google Maps, Bluetooth 2.1, 3.5 mm headset jack, and an 8MP autofocus camera with image stabilization, LED flash and WVGA video recording.

The Xperia X10 also has a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor at 1GHz – being among the world’s first Android smartphones to use such a powerful CPU.

The price of X10 from O2 is not known. However, as many other European carriers, O2 usually offers high-end smartphones for free with expensive contract agreements, so the X10 should also be free – if you’re willing to pay about £40 or more monthly.

Lenovo Lephone getting 2H 2010 launch outside China

Lenovo’s Lephone was a surprise hit from CES 2010, and just as we hoped at the time it’s not just the Chinese market that will get to enjoy it. As well as confirming that Google’s recent spat with the Chinese government (and the delay of a couple of Android devices there, too) won’t affect the Lephone’s launch, Lenovo have also announced that they will be bringing the Android handset to overseas markets in the second half of 2010.

The Lephone has a 3.7-inch 480 x 800 touchscreen with a touch-control panel underneath, a WCDMA radio, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS, along with two cameras: a 3MP shooter on the back and a VGA one up-front for video calls. There’s also a clever keyboard/case accessory which is rather fetching. Unfortunately we still don’t know when the Snapdragon-based smartphone will even land in China – Lenovo originally said sometime during the first-half of 2010 – never mind which countries the Lephone might travel to next.

Garmin-Asus Nuvifone M10 gets official, Windows Mobile 6.5.3 confirmed

Garmin-Asus’ newest Windows Mobile smartphone, the M10, has just been confirmed by the joint-venture.

The M10 is part of the Nuvifone series and will be launched in Taiwan in February, featuring Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Maldives (we’ve also heard that Windows Mobile Maldives is a codename for Windows Mobile 6.6, but it looks like this isn’t true).

Reportedly, Windows Mobile 6.5.3 “comes with a thinner task bar on top” – but, other than that, we don’t know what’s new in it.

Rihanna’s New Boyfriend Violent?

RIHANNA seems to have a thing for bad boys.

According to a report in America’s Star magazine, the singer — who was assaulted by ex-beau Chris Brown in Feb. last year — has fallen for Los Angeles Dodgers star Matt Kemp, who has previously been accused of being violent towards women.

In June 2008, actress Felisha Terrell filed a restraining order against Matt — whom she had been living with — accusing him of threatening, intimidating and stalking her.

In the papers, obtained by Star, the one-time Days of Our Lives star states, “He is violent and I am afraid.”

“You’d think after what she went through with Chris, RiRi would be extra careful about learning the background of any man she gets close to,” a source said.

“It’s almost as if she has a dark side of her own — an attraction to bad boys.

“Rihanna’s friends are fearful about her new relationship.”

Tiger Woods’ Marriage Isn’t Over — Yet!

TIGER Woods‘ marriage to wife Elin Nordegren is “definitely not over” — insiders say.

Tiger — who cheated on the former Swedish model with a string of different women — apparently realized he was about to lose everything when Elin threatened to take their children away from him and go back to Sweden.

But sources have told RadarOnline that if Elin wanted a divorce, she’d a have filed papers by now — but she hasn’t.

“Elin could have filed for divorce already but she hasn’t,” said the source.

“Of course, she has not said definitively that she’s staying with Tiger, but what’s happening now is crucially important.”

Tiger is currently in sex addiction rehab at Gentle Path in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Elin has not visited Tiger yet in rehab but she also has not filed divorce papers. The National Enquirer says Tiger’s program calls for her to spend seven full days of counseling with him in the rehab facility.

Avatar Must Be Stopped!

Avatar isn't a movie! It's a menace! A cigarette-pushing, depression-causing, brain-hemorrhage-inducing menace!

And it must be stopped before it topples Titanic and wins the Best Picture Oscar!

Here's how you can help defeat James Cameron's big, blue threat:

• Stop buying tickets. Seriously, just stop—and stop acting like you've never seen such a beautifully rendered fantasy world before, even if you haven't.

• If you become weak, crack open your Vatican newspaper, thumb straight to "This Week in Condemned Movies," and reread the Avatar review until you are convinced the film is "bland." Warning: This may take a while, especially if you've seen the film.

Sony Ericsson announces Q4 results, reports almost €1 billion loss for 2009

The company sold 14.6 million phones in the fourth quarter of 2009 – slightly more than in the third quarter (reportedly thanks to “market seasonality and successful sales of Satio and Aino phones”), but considerably less than in Q4 2008, when 24.2 million devices were shipped. The average selling price (ASP) for Q4 was of €120.

Google Talks China Plans, iPhone Loss Rumors

Schmidt and others respond to talk that Microsoft's Bing might replace Google on the iPhone, and what the search leader thinks about its future in China.

Fresh off posting strong growth in the company's fourth quarter, Google faced a slew of questions stemming from questions about the future of its business in China, and rumors about the future of its role on the iPhone.

Google devs reveal Chrome OS will have media player

If you thought Chrome OS was all about the Chrome, here are some words of reassurance from Google's Matthew Papakipos, engineering director for the project. In a marathon interview with Ars Technica, he notes that Chrome OS will have its own integrated media player, and although the focus remains on being "lean and mean," it'll not neglect basic system functionality. Current thinking is to keep JPEG and other media file handlers within the tab structure, with native and web apps being melded seamlessly into the browser experience. That may all still change, of course, since development is also noted to be a good year away from a consumer release. Hit up the read link for more, much more, on the past and future of Google's featherweight OS.
