It's all about the romance on the set of Anne Hathaway's romantic comedy as she and Jim Sturgess finally lock lips

Ah... there's nothing like young lovers in Paris. Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess have been spotted filming scenes in the city of light over the last few days for their upcoming romantic comedy 'One Day.'

However, they finally focused on the actual romance, as they shot several intimate kissing scenes, which drew a crowd of local onlookers.

And while the filmed is billed as a romantic comedy, it looks like there's at least one scene that will require having a box of tissues handy.

Filming what appeared to be an emotional scene, Anne teared up prior to engaging in a passionate kiss with Jim, 29.

Anne, 27, looks very gamin and Audrey-Hepburn-esque with her new short hairdo and halter-top blue dress.

However, for those who have fallen in love with her long luscious locks, don't panic. The actress has not shorn off her tresses for the role, but instead is wearing a wig.

Behind the scenes on Lindsay Lohan's Vanity Fair shoot (looks like blondes really do have more fun)

She knew she had a jail sentence and a stint in rehab to complete.

And yet Lindsay Logan looks remarkably relaxed in shots taken behind the scenes for her cover shoot for the latest issue of Vanity Fair magazine.

In video footage taken a week before Lohan went to jail for violating the terms of her probation, she looks calm and happy to pose for photographs on a vintage yacht.

‘The clothes were really beautiful,’ she told the magazine's reporter on the behind the scenes footage.

‘Being on this boat with such history and the clothes and the hair shorter, it was really refreshing in a way and nice. You kind of feel like that person.’

Even before going to jail, the 24-year-old Mean Girls star was looking forward to getting on with her career – she starts filming drama Inferno at the end of September about the life of former porn star Linda Lovelace.

Jerry Yan leaves his “Queen” after all

It was reported back in June that Jerry Yan would play the lead in Next Media’s first ever drama 拜金女王 (roughly translates to Material Queen). Unfortunately NCC turned down the network’s application for an entertainment TV channel last month. To make matters worse, producer Chen Yu Shan announced on her Facebook page that Jerry Yan will no longer be part of the drama. The official reason for his departure was because the two sides failed to agree on a filming schedule. However, producer Chen hinted in her message that Jerry might be focusing on his movie career instead.

Material Queen was supposed to have begun filming in August, but it was delayed until the end of September due to location issues in Taichung and Paris. Jerry Yan’s company notified the production team that he will be doing a movie in November or December. However, Material Queen is not expected to complete filming until January, so they can only part with Jerry and find a replacement. Ethan Ruan and Van Ness Wu are names that have come up as possible candidates for the role. Producer Chen asked fans to continue their support and said they will soon announce their new leading man. Although some of us secretly wished Lynn Xiong was gone too, the lead actress is still signed on with this drama as of the announcement.

Ashton Kutcher Shoots Down Cheating Rumors

Ashton Kutcher is angry about today's infidelity reports surrounding his marriage--and he's letting the world know via Twitter.

Early this morning, Star Magazine reported that an eyewitness saw Kutcher making out with a blonde that wasn't his wife of five years, Demi Moore. "Ashton had this gorgeous girl pinned against the wall, and he was totally making out with her," the eyewitness told Star. "I was shocked to see him sucking face with a girl who obviously wasn't Demi."

Star claims the star's marriage is "in danger of falling apart" after the "bombshell news." Star also quotes another source: "All along, Demi was told it would never work, that he's going to cheat," a friend tells Star. "When she finds out that it happened, she'll be devastated."

Google Responds to Steve Jobs' Thinly Veiled Insults

Not satisfied to simply trump Google's daily device activation numbers, Steve Jobs added insult to injury at the Apple press conference this afternoon, claiming that unspecified "friends" have been counting handset upgrades in their statistical totals and not just newly activated phones. As you might imagine, Google was not terribly pleased at this turn of events, and issued the following retort: "The Android activation numbers do not include upgrades and are, in fact, only a portion of the Android devices in the market since we only include devices that have Google services." Now, we don't honestly know who's telling the truth here and we'd like to be able to take both companies at their word, but this isn't the first time even during this particular Apple shindig that questionable claims were thrown out as fact.

Confirmed: T-Mobile G2 will have Android 2.2, Flash and 800MHz CPU

T-Mobile is calling it "the fastest smartphone experience in America," but as it turns out, its Qualcomm Scorpion CPU is actually relatively slow -- the cellular carrier's insider newsletter T-Mobile Scoop says the phone's MSM7x30 chip will be clocked at 800MHz, rather than the 1GHz we'd hoped for. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean that T-Mobile lying about speed, as anyone who's upgraded from Droid to Droid 2 very well knows -- bloatware can easily clog the pipes even on phones running Froyo, and we've heard that this particular HTC device is running a pure vanilla Android build. Speaking of delectable operating system revisions, T-Mobile confirms you'll indeed find Android 2.2 under the hood accompanied by Flash Player 10.1, as well as "one-touch quick keys" the carrier claims provide Speedy Gonzales-like access to apps and shortcuts. Still waiting to be confirmed: a $200 subsidized price, and the day we'll see it in stores.

TRAX releases Oh My Goddess MV starring Seohyun

I think SNSD’s Seohyun fans were awaiting this music video more than TRAX fans were.

TRAX finally released the music video for Oh My Goddess starring Seohyun as the gorgeous goddess.

I don’t think anyone can look so pure and innocent in white like she does. She’s definitely going to win over more fans with this video. I bet CNBLUE’s Yonghwa will be gawking at this video.

Check out TRAX’s new music video with Seohyun below!

Jet Li married first wife to change his fortunes

Action star Jet Li has revealed that he married his first wife Huang Qiu Yan to change his fortunes, reported Chinese media.

When asked about his two marriages during a recent television appearance to promote his new film "Ocean Heaven", Li said he became very sick at one point in his life and married Huang, a classmate two years his senior, on his godmother's advice.

His godmother claimed that Huang would change Li's destiny and improve his chances of becoming a star.

"I married [Huang] to 'chong xi' (the traditional practice of chasing away misfortune with a happy occasion)," admitted Li.

The "Fearless" star went on to point out that they eventually separated in 1990 after a two-year marriage because there was not enough mutual love in the relationship – Huang loved him deeply but Li only loved her about "20 per cent".

Li, who is currently married to former beauty queen Nina Li Chi, said he felt a sense of obligation toward his ex-wife, but never felt guilty for leaving her.

The 47-year-old actor pointed out that he had done everything he could to advance her career and introduced her to the directors of the films he worked on, in hopes of helping her clinch a role, which she did.

Louis Koo gets leg surgery will take a break for a year

Earlier Louis Koo injured his leg at work, which led to a ligament fracture and meniscus tear. His condition is rather serious, the day before he attended a luxury car anniversary celebration in Beijing with his injury. Later, he left a message on his website that he is injured and expressed that when he gets back to Hong Kong, he will have to undergo surgery. Then he'll be resting for 9-12 months.

Actually Louis started shooting many movies, but after surgery he will have to rest for a period of time. It was understood that many film production companies are still insisting to use Louis. Seems like Louis is a deeply favoured by the film production companies. After his surgery, he will not be able to make big movements, Louis laughed: "For this time period, I have to end my movie fate with Johnnie To. His movies are always so jumpy!"

Scarlet ladies Jessica Alba and Natalie Portman help the Venice Film Festival get off to a glittering start

They say never wear scarlet on the red carpet.

But Jessica Alba and Natalie Portman proved fashion rules are always made to be broken, both choosing scarlet dresses for the opening of the Venice Film Festival this evening.

The actresses looked equally stunning, in their very different gowns.

Jessica chose a floral Dolce and Gabanna number, which she teamed with tough black platform heels, an armful of bangles and a simple straight hairdo.

She then changed into a stunning black mini dress with long train for the first night screening of her movie Machete.

Natalie chose a more traditional style evening gown in red chiffon, slit to the waist to reveal her shapely legs.

Breaking Dawn's Birth Scene Onscreen: "As Intense As It Is in the Book"

As gruesome as it may be, Bella's big birthing scene in Breaking Dawn can't come soon enough.

But until then, here's an update on what to expect…

Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg tells me she's been in Baton Rouge with director Bill Condon doing rewrites for the scripts for the two BD movies.

"We're working on it," Rosenberg says of baby Renesmee's less-than-pretty arrival. "And we're working on it to be as intense as it is in the book."

Yikes. That could be a whole lotta gore.

"I don't think it's about the amount of blood you show," Rosenberg says. "It's about the intensity of it. It's on their faces. It's all from Bella's point of view when you're seeing what's going. It should feel visceral. I think it's going to be pretty intense."

What's Rosenberg's ETA on the final scripts? "It better damn well be before the beginning of November," she says, "because that's when we start shooting."

Preview: Apple’s Ping Music Social Network In Action On iOS

One of the big announcements at Apple’s event today was Ping, the music social network that Apple has baked into iTunes. But it’s not just on iTunes for the computer, it’s also a part of iTunes on the iPhone and iPod touch. This will be a part of the new iOS 4.1 release which is going out to developers right now, and should be out for consumers next week.

In the demo area after the event, Apple had a bunch of iPod touches loaded with iOS 4.1, so we got to play around with it. It’s a pretty slick experience on the device because it’s so simple. Below find some pictures of how it works.

Windows Phone 7 released to manufacturers

Microsoft's releasing Windows Phone 7 to manufacturing today—in other words, it's done. Final. Complete. Microsoft managed to add a few new bits before shrink-wrapping it, too.

What RTM means is hardware makers and carriers can start finalizing their own plans for Windows Phone 7—tweaking drivers, preparing carrier-specific services for integration, that kind of thing. Gettings things ready to go. What that doesn't mean, however, is that Microsoft is telling us when Windows Phone 7 will actually land in our grippy hands. Octoberish, as previously rumored, still seems like the safe bet.

Jolin Tsai returns with multi-color bra in new MV

We're not trying to be picky, but doesn't this feel like Victoria Secret meets Brother Sharp? The ultra-flexible Jolin Tsai is back with a new music video for “Butterflies in my stomach (七上八下)” from her album "Myself". In contrast to her recent MVs, she returns with a colorful yet sexy image that is sure to become a hot topic again.

One of the outfits features Jolin in a bra-top that shows off her perfectly flat stomach. Although her famous G-cup is missing, there is still plenty of eye-candy for her die-hard fans. She also filmed in two other outfits including a more “conservative” one that has the sides of her top cut off.

Although Jolin’s album has been topping the charts since its release, it hasn’t been exactly a smooth ride for her. She was first criticized for channeling Buzz Lightyear in the early promotional photos, and then her flashy fringe jacket in the “Honey Trap” MV was compared to Paul the Octopus, followed by a not-so-original video that blurred out her body in "Love Player".

Jolin's album is now available from Yesasia.

Leehom once thought about running off with a girl

Leehom Wang played a superstar who left his fame for an ordinary girl in the movie, “Love In Disguise”. Life is like a drama. In a recent interview with Appledaily, Leehom revealed that he once thought about running away with a girl.

Fifteen years since his debut, Leehom has always been very protective about his love relationships, but he finally opened up in the interview and said, “I once thought about running away with a girl because I was swamped with endless amount of work. I wanted to date and wanted to get to know more about her, but I had no time, so I wanted to disappear once and for all.” When asked if the girl was an ordinary girl like in his movie, he laughed, “A girl with me, is never ordinary.” As for when was the time he wanted to escape reality with his girl, he thought for a long moment and answered, “It was when I had a lot of work to do,” and he refused to disclose who the girl was.

Leehom chose his career over love and ended his relationship. He explained that it was “because he would have felt very sorry to his work team if he really left.” He then added, “I feel very contradicted. I actually take relationships very seriously. You can tell with all the love songs I write. Relationships are very important to me, but I don’t have the time to develop them well.” When asked if the girl was mad at him for leaving her, he spoke sincerely, “There isn’t a girl from the past who isn’t angry at me because I’m someone who would even forget to eat or sleep when it comes to work, let alone spending time with someone else.”

Yes, iTunes 10 Is Finally Here. Get Downloading

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been hitting refresh on the Apple iTunes website waiting for them to put iTunes 10 up for download. Sure, it has said it was available since this morning, but when you click through, it would still be iTunes 9.2.1 with a promise that iTunes 10 was “coming soon.” Well, it took several hours, but it’s finally here.

Apple announced iTunes 10 this morning at their event in San Francisco. The latest version is more than just a minor update, there are several things that have been reworks, including some UI elements. But the biggest addition is obviously Ping, the music social network Apple has baked into iTunes. I got a chance to use it earlier on some demo computers and on the iPhone/iPod touch — it’s very interesting. Now it’s time to see if 160 million built-in users agree.

From the 15 minutes or so I used it earlier, I can also say that it felt noticeably faster than version 9. This has been a huge complaint about the software in the past — that it’s too bloated. Of course, that was also on a brand new machine probably not packed to the brim with media — so we’ll see.

The oddest thing about iTunes 10 isn’t the icon revamp (goodbye CD) — I think it has to be the move of the close, minimize, and expand buttons on the Mac version. They’re now vertically aligned — like a traffic light.

Paris Hilton: I'm Ignoring 'Ridiculous, Cruel' Rumors

Cocaine in her purse? Banned from Las Vegas hotels? Boyfriend "separated" from his job?

Paris Hilton isn't feeling so hot about the news this week.

"These rumors going around are so ridiculous, untrue and cruel," the heiress, 29, Tweeted late Tuesday night, just hours before a rep for the Wynn and Encore resorts confirmed Hilton isn't welcome at Steve Wynn properties and that her boyfriend, Cy Waits, is no longer working for the casino-hotel magnate.

"I'm not going to even pay attention to them," adds Hilton, "because I know the truth."

Hilton's source of comfort for now? Her fans. "I'm so thankful to all my fans for all the love and support you are giving me," she Tweeted two days after her arrest. "Thank you all. Love you so much."

For 99 cents, Amazon sells shows, Apple rents them

As an eagle-eyed CNET reader noted, Amazon is selling some TV shows for the same price that Apple plans to charge for rentals.

A number of ABC and Fox shows, including hits like "Glee," are available on Amazon's service for 99 cents per episode--the same price as Apple's coming rental option. But with Amazon, the episodes can be downloaded or streamed and do not expire.

Other shows, such as AMC's Mad Men, still fetch $1.99 on Amazon's site.

Here's what Amazon says of the rights that come with videos sold on its site, including the 99-cent TV shows.

"When you buy a video, your viewing rights do not expire (except as provided in our Terms of Use)," Amazon states. "You can watch a video you own online and download it to 2 locations (TiVo, DVRs, and Windows PCs). You can also transfer a video you own to 2 portable devices. Note: Some new release movies will become unavailable for viewing or downloading for an unspecified period of time due to licensing restrictions. You will be notified about this before we process your order."

Spencer Pratt Shelves “Speidi” Sex Tape

So much for Speidi: The Sex Tape!

Spencer Pratt must have taken a recent trip to Oz– because it appears the slimeball reality villain has suddenly developed a heart and decided against subjecting the masses to the monstrosity that would be Speidi in XXX.

The former Hills star had threatened to release three raunchy films of his estranged wife Heidi Montag – who he separated from in April after a year of marriage– in the throes of passion with him and Playboy Playmate Karissa Shannon, but has now apparently changed his mind in a last ditch effort to salvage a friendship with his former flame.

In a letter penned by Pratt’s assistant and sent to Vivid Entertainment, Team Pratt halts negotiations with the adult film company behind leaked sex tapes from Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, and Kendra Wilkinson: “Heidi’s made it very clear that she is not interested in releasing any tapes. It looks like she pulled the kill switch. Spencer’s not interested in further destroying their relationship by pursuing an avenue she’s so vehemently against.”

Playful Kiss receives devastatingly low ratings

The first episode of MBC drama Playful Kiss aired on September 1st hoping to measure up to the hype and high expectations with Kim Hyun Joong playing the male lead. Unfortunately, it didn’t even come close.

The drama received a viewer rating of 3.5% which is even lower ratings than Road No.1, the previous drama in the same time slot.

It seemed like people were pretty hyped for this drama but no drama can go up against Baker King / Kim Tak Gu at the moment.

This whole year, MBC’s Wednesday-Thursday dramas have received low ratings. Baker King received a rating of 44% and My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox received 11.9% on the same day.

Hopefully the ratings turns around for the drama very soon.

T-Mobile’s G2 to be $199 on-contract, $499 off

TmoNews has just gotten word that the unreleased and unannounced HTC G2 will be priced at $199 with a 2-year contract and $499 without on T-Mobile. The intel comes via a screen shot of T-Mobile’s internal TeamLine system. No real surprises here; after all, $199 is the smartphone sweet spot for high-end devices. Now all we need is an official unveiling and some detailed specifications.

Zune HD could have all-new model in the works

The Zune HD continues to rank among our all-time favorites in terms of industrial design, so it's good to hear that Microsoft isn't entirely abandoning the PMP sector for its new Windows Phone 7 hotness. Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet has consulted her tea leaves (and in-the-know tipsters) and emerged with the strong feeling that some new Zune hardware is brewing up in Redmond. Little specificity is available, beyond the obvious postulation that a new ZHD would probably be driven by an ARM CPU and take some software pointers from WP7, but we're told to look toward to the early 2011 horizon and see if we can't spot any sexy new media players emerging. A mirage is as likely as the real deal right now, but it's always fun to look to that horizon, no?

iPod touch (2010) first hands-on!

So we just got our hands on the new iPod touch... and boy is it small. As you would expect, the functionality of the device is identical to the iPhone 4, as well as the functions of the front and back cameras. In essence, it's a much thinner iPhone 4, with no cell radio, of course. The design is relatively in keeping with previous touches, so no major surprises there, but the inclusion of that A4 chip, higher resolution screen, and front and back cameras makes it a far more versatile device. Take a look at the gallery below if you're wondering just how much of a sliver this is -- it makes the iPhone 4 look... fat.

iPod nano (2010) first hands-on!

Here it is, the new (and completely redesigned) iPod nano. Super thin, super light, and really, the capacitive multitouch works very well. The screen is crisp and top menu navigation is smooth, but can't say we have great feel for moving back out of sub menus (via swipe or holding down the screen). We're going back for seconds and thirds, peep the initial pics below!

Apple event: Jobs takes the stage to announce new products

Apple ships 120 million iOS devices since iPhone's launch

Steve Jobs just dropped a few numbers on us. Firstly, that big one above, 120 million iOS devices have been shipped since the iPhone's debut back in 2007. 230,000 is the next number of significance -- that's the tally of daily iOS activations. Moving down to even more granular stats, Apple says 200 apps are being downloaded every second, which has resulted in the mind-bending 6.5 billion total downloads of iOS applications. This is from a catalog of over 250,000 total apps, with 25,000 of them being available for the iPad.

'I'm a girl who eats': Glee star Lea Michele refuses to follow the super-skinny Hollywood trend

She's starring in one of the most popular shows on TV and is well on her way to becoming a household name.

But Glee star Lea Michele refuses to let the success of the show change her, insisting she will never become a typical Hollywood girl.

The 24-year-old, who plays Rachel Berry, insists she will never starve herself to achieve the super-skinny Hollywood look.

And she says she doesn't care how she looks so long as she feels good on the inside.

'I love being healthy,' Lea tells Glamour magazine. 'I get a lot of sleep. I'm a girl who eats... I feel beautiful no matter how I look. I have my family to thank for that.'

5'2" Michele claims to eat whatever she wants, and says she never diets.

And she insists nothing is more important than just being comfortable in her own skin.

Katy Perry debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200 albums chart

Though she did not earn the numbers we expected, Katy Perry comes in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Her Teenage Dream set sold 192,000 copies in its debut frame. It’s still her best ever sales week, though. Her last album, 2008′s One of the Boys of “I Kissed a Girl” fame, debuted and peaked at No. 9 with 47,000 albums sold.

American Idol alum Fantasia debuts at No. 2 with Back To Me, selling 117,000 copies. Eminem‘s Recovery falls two spots to No. 3, moving 98,000 units. And Usher’s companion to this year’s Raymond V Raymond, Versus, premieres at No. 4 with 46,000 copies sold.

Little Big Town’s The Reason Why debuts at No. 5 with 42,000 albums sold. While selling 30,000 copies, Kem’s Intimacy drops from last week’s No. 2 to No. 6. Justin Bieber’s My World 2.0 lifts one place to No. 7, selling 29,000 units.

IE slips in usage share; Chrome resumes growth

Internet Explorer's growth slowed once again, and Chrome shook off its slump in August, new statistics show.

Although Microsoft made progress in its goal to exterminate IE6 in favor of IE8's more modern and secure design, Internet Explorer overall slipped from 60.7 percent to 60.4 percent of global usage, as measured by Net Applications.

Chrome had slipped for the first time in its history, sinking to 7.2 percent in July, but returned to growth with 7.5 percent of August usage, Net Applications said.

Rain unveils new digital single ‘W Song’

Back in May, Rain signed a lucrative contract with SK Telecom / SK Telesys and endorsed the SK900 W Phone. A little over a month ago he released a couple of commercials for this W Phone and now he has released a full digital for the company titled W Song.

The song is quite catchy with a nice uptempo beat. Thanks to daniell for the tip and remember to support the artist by purchasing the music.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt hand over dogs in bizarre custody battle

When a marriage breaks up, the couple usually have to come to some arrangement over custody of their children.

But things are a little different in the case of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt.

The estranged couple yesterday were honouring their slightly bizarre arrangement to share custody of their dogs.

Spencer arrived at Heidi's villa in Costa Rica where he performed the dogs swap - delivering two pooches and taking away another two dogs on a golf cart.

The dog exchange apparently forms part of the couple's divorce terms - Heidi filed for divorce back in June, citing irreconcilable differences.

She yesterday looked slim in a lilac sleeveless shirt over a bikini while the bearded Spencer, 26, sported a pair of blue shorts and a backpack.

Paris Hilton Banned from Wynn Las Vegas Properties

In light of her arrest Friday for possession of cocaine, socialite Paris Hilton has been banned from the Las Vegas resorts Wynn and Encore, a spokesman for the properties confirmed to PEOPLE.

The ban comes after several Las Vegas insiders claimed that the heiress might be blackballed from nightclubs. After the car in which she was riding was stopped, Hilton, 29, was taken inside the Wynn, where it was allegedly discovered that she had cocaine in her purse.

Coinciding with the ban, Wynn Las Vegas also announced in a vague statement that Hilton's boyfriend, nightclub executive Cy Waits, has been "separated from the company and is free to pursue other interests." No further comment or details was provided.

Waits, 34, was stopped by police officers Friday night when they smelled marijuana wafting from the car window. According to a Waits's arrest report, also released Wednesday, he failed a sobriety test.

Charges have yet to be filed against Waits, the Clark County Attorney's office said. Just days before his arrest, Waits was recently promoted to Co-Chief of Nightlife Operations at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore.

Hilton and Waits have been dating since June.

Shakira “Sale El Sol” Album Cover Art

Hey Music Heads, you must check out this official album cover for Shakira’s upcoming — Count ‘Em — seventh studio album, Sale El Sol, set for release Nov. 2.

It was only a year ago that the Latin diva released her last charttopper, She Wolf. Now the Colombian beauty is back with a bilingual effort that will offer a host of Spanish and English pop faves.

Microsoft Windows 7 continues to gain ground on Vista; brings back Windows 7 'family pack'

Nearing its first birthday, Microsoft's Windows 7 is starting to grab more customers than its predecessor, Vista, according to new stats released Wednesday by Net Applications.

For the month of August, Windows 7 grew to take in a 15.87 percent share of devices accessing the Internet, while Vista dropped to 14 percent. That's only the second month in which Windows 7 started to outshine Vista. In July, the newest flavor of Windows grabbed 14.46 percent of the market, compared with Vista's 14.34 percent share, according to Net Applications.

Microsoft's push to convince customers to upgrade may be working for Vista users, but has a ways to go for those still using XP. Among all operating systems, both Microsoft and non-Microsoft, Windows XP continues to hold the leading share, installed on 60.89 percent of the devices tracked for August. That's only a percentage point less than in July and around twice that of Windows 7 and Vista together.

The data shows that Windows 7 usage has climbed from a little more than 2 percent when it was released last October to its current level of almost 16 percent. Over the same period, Vista has dropped 5 percentage points from almost 19 percent last October, while XP has fallen around 10 percentage points from close to 71 percent almost a year ago.

ViewSonic ViewPad 7 video hands-on

We just got a chance to mess around with ViewSonic's upcoming ViewPad 7 (one of possibly four tablets they plan to release this year), and while it is indeed a plastic rebadge me-too Android tablet, we mean that in the best sense. Let's take these one by one:
  • Plastic: It looks and feels enough like metal / glass that we won't fault ViewSonic for the cost savings here.
  • Rebadge: ViewSonic has an exclusive on this design for its particular markets (Europe), while the OlivePad is doing its version over in India.
  • Me-too: This might be the biggest knock, since ViewSonic is dropping the ViewPad into a world that's going to be up to its knees in 7-inch Android tablets in a few month's time.

ViewSonic wins points for an above average build quality, better than crappy LCD (it's not great, but we've seen a lot worse, and the capacitive response is just fine), passable processor (a 600MHz Snapdragon won't win any bake-offs, but it also makes Android 2.2 completely usable in our opinion), and better-than-Augen Google blessing. Check out our video hands-on after the break.

Jon Gosselin to Kate: 'Pay Me Or I'll Report You to Child Services'

Reality star and octo-parent Jon Gosselin threatened to report ex-wife Kate to Child Protective Services if she didn't pay him a huge chunk of money, RadarOnline.com reports.

The proof comes in handwritten documents leaked by Jon's post-Kate gal-pal Hailey Glassman. Radar calls it "the ugliest chapter in a brutal divorce."

Glassman says: "We were in bed and Jon called Kate on speaker phone. He wrote down what he wanted to say to her and then he read from his notes. He told her, 'You either give me money, or I'm going to call CPS [Child Protective Services].'" Part of the plan came from Jon and Kate's daughter Maddy hurting her arm; Jon threatened to tells authorities Kate harmed the 9-year-old.

Microsoft's Touchstrip Arc Touch Mouse Feels Like the Future

After the overt teasing, leaking, and then more leaking, Microsoft's finally ready to spit out the details on its Arc Touch Mouse, which at the end of the day is really just... a mouse. As we've seen, the peripheral has an incredibly unique design -- the flat device arches its back to click into a mountain shape, which actually ends up powering the little rodent up. So, where does the whole "touch" factor come into play? Well, very similarly to the Mad Catz Eclipse mouse, the Arc Touch has a capacitive touch strip with sensor pads between the mouse buttons that can be used for scrolling and customizable shortcuts. We've got you covered with some hands-on impressions and video after the break, but that's about all you'll be getting for a while since the press release below says the $69.95 mouse won't hit the market until December. Yep, December! That's a bit odd to us, but they'll be taking pre-orders today so hit the break to finally see this thing push the cursor around.

Samsung to launch new Galaxy S smartphone on September 16?

Samsung is getting ready to announce a new “Android-powered device” on September 16 in New York.

The invitation that Samsung sent for the event suggests this will be a new Galaxy S device, so it’s probably not the Samsung Galaxy Tab, as PocketNow believes – as far as I know, the Galaxy Tab won’t be a member of the Galaxy S family; even more, we already know the tablet will be announced tomorrow at IFA Berlin.

So I think we’ll see a new Galaxy S smartphone unveiled – of course, I may be wrong.

Samsung will also officially present its Media Hub platform on September 16 (Media Hub is an online movie/video store designed for Samsung’s smartphones).

Samsung sold more than 1 million Galaxy S handsets until now in the US. With the recent launch of the Sprint Epic 4G and the upcoming availability of Verizon’s Fascinate, sales figures might double soon.

HTC HD3 to be named HD7 in honor of Windows Phone 7, launch October 18?

Ooh boy, do we have a good one for you today. We've been tipped off that the HD3 -- HTC's mythical successor to the wildly popular HD2 -- is not only alive and kicking, but headed for a bright and sunny Windows Phone 7 future, starting as early as October 18. Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, all the evidence we have for now is the above spreadsheet, which we're told is an internal planning doc from UK carrier O2. It's not exactly the hardest thing in the world to forge so keep your skeptical wits about you, but as silly as this inflationary renaming to HD7 may sound, we find it strangely believable. After all, why wouldn't the company that brought us the Incredible Wildfire of Desire jump ahead a few numbers to keep up with the hot new OS' numbering?

Miley Cyrus Goes "Overboard" With Justin Bieber for Bieber Bio

Teen heartthrob Justin Bieber was back on top tonight as he performed a high-energy sell out gig in New York.

The pint-sized popstar, 16, who cancelled a concert on Sunday due to illness, delighted a sell-out crowd at Madison Square Gardens.

Given that the event was being filmed for the Canadian star's 3D concert movie, the teen made sure his routines were particularly energetic, with lots of jumping, kicking and on-stage action.

He was joined on stage by a plethora of star guests, including Sean Kingston. His mentor Usher, Miley Cyrus, Ludacris and Jaden Smith are also thought to have took a turn before the screaming crowds.

Katy Perry “The X Factor America” Judge?

Katy Perry’s got a No. 1 album and a new job offer, if a spankin-new English tabloid scoop is to be believed.

Katy Perry has been offered $340,000-a-week to join music mogul Simon Cowell as a judge on the US version of ITV’s The X Factor when the show premieres in 2011.

TV industry tattles telll The Daily Mirror that Cowell was so impressed by the “Teenage Dream” singer’s no-holds barred-style during her stint as a guest judge at the Dublin auditions on the UK program, he wants her to be the first name added to the panel when the talent show moves Stateside.

The 25-year-old pop tart, who is marrying British comedian Russell Brand later this year, oozed her bubbly persona on the hot seat and clearly enjoyed herself as she told a pal she wants to build a TV career in England, according to The Mirror.

“Katy was thrilled, especially by the package which is said to be a $340,000-a-show deal,” squeals a spy. “Simon wants to get the judging names signed, sealed and announced within six weeks. He wants at least one massive American star, someone who is known globally, plus one Brit and at least one authoritative male.”

Other big name stars reportedly in chats for The X Factor America include Nick Cannon, Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, and Hollywood couple Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez.

Choi Seung Hyun (T.O.P) will he receive the rookie actor award?

Singer and actor Choi Seung Hyun (Big Bang’s T.OP.) is receiving much attention as he is a strong candidate to receive the rookie award at the 2010 Movie Awards, which are beginning to start up.

Choi Seung Hyun made is big screen debut this past June as war-scarred student soldier Oh Jang Bum in the war movie Into the Gunfire, which drew in over 3.3 million viewers.

Amongst the male stars who made themselves known in theaters during the first half of this year, that Choi Seung Hyun made the deepest impression is the consistent evaluation of cinema officials. Though he is originally a singer, the fact that he made a sincere transformation into an actor and was successful through a war movie in which outstanding senior actors also appeared was a plus. If Choi Seung Hyun were to receive the award at the film festival, he would be the first to do so as a member of an idol group in addition to being an actor.
